Went to sell back my speaker cabinet I bought from guitar center originally right before Corona in literally perfect condition that they were still selling ar the same price of $650.00 and I expected to be low balled but they offered me $200.00 for it MAX... no thanks Ill just use it as a coffee table before I sell it for $200.00. Even the store clerk was embarrassed and shocked as the number is auto generated. Hmu about my mark bass speakers, Ill sell them at a much better price than guitar center.

Took my MUSIC CREATIVITY to a new level!

Took 2 Guitars to this location. One was to get a new set of strings put on, which I could have done myself but since I had one that needed a new set of tuning keys put on, I thought I would just have the strings put on the other one and save myself some time. I was told that I could come back in an hour to pick them up. I walked around the store and then walked around in a couple of other stores to wait. After an hour, I went back to pick up the guitars and they were sitting in the same place that I left them and the guy that was supposed to fix them was nowhere to be found! The store has an abundance of equipment but the customer service is horrible.

You know, it’s guitar center. The staff is generally friendly, and the prices here are generally fair. The store is kind of a mess, but if you are coming in here you probably know what you are getting yourself into.

Came in trying to spend money. Just kept getting ignored. Guy told me he would look for a case. His buddy buying some strings was more important. Someone else came by and asked if she could help me, told her what I was needing and she completely disappeared. No exaggeration, after 20 minutes I just interjected while this kid and his buddy were chatting and asked him if he was going to find the case. Told me that guitar didnt come with one. I dunno, tell me that at first, and secondly, its a guitar center, you telling me there isnt generic soft cases? Really, you expect to carry it out the door like that? So I went to Sam Ash and was treated like an adult and bought a Paul reed Smith. With a case too. How crazy

Convenient spot in Lakeland, however, given I was shopping for an acoustic/acoustic electric, I had an issue. Nearly all the guitars on display were out of tune. Whether $200 or $2000, most needed to be tuned which luckily I know how to do.

The store was easy to shop and i found someone to help me within 5 mins. My item wasnt in the store but an associate arranged for it to be shipped to my home.

Ive had two guitars serviced recently and Im really impressed with the speed and price along surg the great improvement to the intonation and playability of my guitars.

Hello,I wanted to let you know that the store manager, Chloe, went above and beyond for me and my daughter. My daughter was accepted to the same performing arts school that Chloe attended. She knew exactly what we needed for my daughters classes. Unfortunately the store didn’t have anything used, and being a single mom it was going to be hard for me to buy a $900 guitar with only a month to save for the guitar. Chloe had a guitar on layaway for herself that was a used version of what we needed. This was going to be her guitar, and she said they almost never get this kind of guitar used, and she said she’d never seen one in black before. (It is not an electric guitar, but a special kind of acoustic guitar).Well, my daughter freaked because black is her favorite color. When Chloe saw the look on my daughters face when she showed her the black one she had in layaway for herself, she said go ahead and take this guitar. She gave up her guitar for my daughter. I’ve never seen my daughter happier. As a parent I can’t tell you what that means to me.On another note, both my other kids take lessons and classes for multiple instruments. Chloe knew everything about each of the instruments in the store,because I’m sure we drove her crazy with all our questions. However she was very patient with us and answered everything. She never made us feel like we were a bother to her.Even though guitar center can be more expensive than other music stores, I will only shop at guitar center as long as Chloe works there. She is truly a gem of an employee!! I was a manger for The Ritz-Carlton hotels, and we are paid to go to other hotels and businesses and teach them our way of customer service. Having won several awards for customer service ourselves. So, I know what above and beyond customer service is, and Chloe consistently delivered above and beyond customer service. I gave this store a one star because I called to see if they had a product in store the gentleman that I spoke to said they did so I went into the store and omg it was a joke walked around for about 10 mins in the audio department looking for the the trrs adapters let mind u I have never been in this store before or any other store u cant tell the difference between customers and employees no one had on name tags or even uniforms finally when my hubby and I couldnt find what we was looking for we searched for a employee only one we found was behind the cashier counter he didnt know what we were talking about he then said he can get some one over in audio to talk to us so another 10 mins pass female in regular clothes comes and asks can I help u and so I told her what I needed and she had no idea what we were talking about i was thinking how u going to work at a music place and not know your product so then she called another guy over he tried to tell me there is no such thing I had to go on there website and show him that they sell it finally I found a tag with the product they have online and they were out the guy didnt offer to order or even tell me hey u know u can buy it online Nothing he how ever did convince me that the mic adapter would work so we brought it and guess what it didnt work I get having laid by work environment but how do u expect to make money I will not be returning customer

Im not one for gushing in my reviews BUT:This place is awesome... it doesnt just have guitars, they have keyboards and drums, supplies for recording, and they have a room for lessons! Its super clean, well organized, and has just about anything you could need.Every associate in the place is polite and helpful. I took them the guitar I bought my niece as Christmas gift, it came broken and I was looking for a replacement piece... but they have a repair man in house! It was a simple fix, he did it right in front of me in 10 minutes and when I asked how much, he said Merry Christmas and didnt charge me a thing.Ill gladly make the 35 minute drive to Lakeland to visit these guys again if my niece needs anything else.

This was the Tampa store on Hillsborough. I called ahead to see if they had a keyboard in stock, a Yamaha p125, and Logan said yes we do. So I drove from an hour away and when I got there he said I am sorry, we are out of stock and I am not allowed to sell the floor model. I had a bad experience last week and I thought I would give them another chance.

This place is always clean and someone is always there to help.

Was told to leave because I can not wear a mask. I have a medical condition that prevents me form being able to wear a mask. I informed the guy with long hair of this. And he didnt care. It was my first time going into that store and drove from plant city to do so because this store was caring of people and understanding. This store is not. I was in there to buy with cash a guitar and case with stand and an electric piano with stand. Came to buy not bs cash in hand and was treated so disrespectful. Will never return to this store and will never recommend them to anyone.This store discriminates against people with lung and heart conditions. They violated my rights and did it with a smile and a smug tone.

Im guessing the recent money problems and covid are to blame but they had next to no guitars in stock. Ill give it some time and try going back.

Guitar center on the whole is a great shop! This one in particular always seems to be under staffed though, or registers not working, or both. Ive shopped here on four separate occasions over the past year or so and the wait for a cashier has been 20 minutes or more almost every time.

Ordered a jam man xt. Received the wrong one and returned it. Reordered online and received the wrong one again. Turns out the store sold it and decided to send me the more expensive model without even checking with me. The model they sent didnt even have the jamsync feature I needed. And even if I COULD use it, it was missing knobs and the power supply. Awful. Just awful. Thank god for Sweetwater.

Extremely disappointed. If I can leave zero stars I would. I’ve been a guitar center customer since 1980 and have never experienced anything like this in almost 40 years.Today I went to sell some gear and purchase a new amp which they told me was stock when I called 30 minutes before I arrived. The gentleman at the counter had me there for over one hour and was taking phone calls and helping other customers while I sat patiently waiting to complete my transaction.After I finally shared my frustration with the young man and asked him to complete my transaction before he assisted anyone else he said the amp I wanted was out of stock and wanted to sell me the floor model.No deal, I wanted a new amp so I asked to get paid so I can leave.He once again walked away without notice to open the door for other costumes while I waited to get paid.Never once did he hand me of to another store employee to finish the transaction.After being there for over an hour a young lady finally paid me and I was on my way. I will never go back to guitar center ever again. Plenty other options online.Completely unprofessional and a waste of my time.

The Lakeland GC operations mgr emailed me to let me know that they had the two items I ordered through a clearance sale offered online, but that both were broken; & that he had cancelled my order(bummer, because the price was right, & we are a nonprofit youth organization on a tight budget).I can understand inventory mistakes, but....... I then asked if he could help me out with a deal on a bass..........no response.

Take the negative reviews of this store with a grain of salt.These reviews are from the same miserable people who have something to complain about everywhere that they visit.I have visited this location on multiple occasions and it has been perfectly pleasant each and every time.The staff is extremely welcoming and really makes an effort to go above and beyond where they are able.Its quite amazing to see that these employees are still able to keep such high spirits even while being beaten down and berated by blatantly miserable customers who clearly come looking for a fight and will never be satisfied.A much deserved thank you to the crew at GC Lakeland!

I have been coming to this Guitar Center since I was 12 years old was denied service for the first time in over 21 years after I clearly stated that I have a respiratory breathing condition that makes me unable to restrict my breathing with any type of mask. The state of Florida has opened to full capacity and the Governor of Florida strictly said that the stores had to provide written proof as to why they have to keep regulations that deny paying customers like myself full-service! I was ready to buy 2 new guitars and for my son. I am highly disappointed and insulted and will never purchase or recommend this place to anyone ever again. The customer service representatives were highly unethical and poorly trained as to even comprehend how illogical and insensitive they truly were.

Picked up a Taylor 814ce V class DLX today. Couple things really impressed me. 1st was they have a Luther on staff. Second was the employee knowledge. Last the manager Chris is a very personable guy. He will bend over backwards to make it happen and I believe him to be a man of his word. Integrity is in short supply these days. How refreshing to see it in abundance.

The check out clerk kept moving from one register to another to avoid checking us out. Each time we had to move, we ended up in the end of the line. Perhaps because I was white and my boyfriend was black? We actually wanted to spend an additional $200 there. But once we saw what was going on, we left.

Great selection of both new and experienced guitars. Decent prices. Now maybe it was the day or time I went, but what few staff I saw did not seem the least bit interested in helping me or answering questions..or possibly making an easy sale. I already had a good idea what I wanted and was ready to buy it but no employee even approached me. Plus, I actually had a woman trying to panhandle from me IN the store! I think I will go with Sweetwater.

My experience at this particular Guitar Center has been the most heart-warming, the most welcoming, and the most phenomenal imaginable experience. Every time I walk through those doors at Lakeland Guitar Center, I feel so happy and filled with excitement to find my next guitar with the people who have stood by me since the beginning when I started guitar. The entire staff at Lakeland Guitar Center EXCEEDS my expectations as a customer. When I first went to the Lakeland Guitar Center, I was welcomed with kindness, and a thorough amount of knowledge to help me decide on my first guitar. Each time I come in, I know it’s a memory I will never forget... I owe it to ALL of the staff at the Lakeland Guitar Center. Prime examples of amazing human beings (The workers at guitar center) includes and is definitely not limited to... V, Chris, Elena, Trevor, Aidan, Josh, and everyone who works there!! Really helpful employees and knowledgeable about items in store

Purchased a guitar amp online used but when I received it didnt come with a power cord. If a product they are selling dont come with all its components then it should be noted on the website in the description.

Hit or miss with customer service. I think theyre trying hard to help each person. ONE customer service person had to answer the constant phone calls, check out customers at the register, answer inquiries about music lessons, answer random questions from people walking by the desk. Oh. And... try to sell me a guitar. It took me an hour to check out!

Needed help buying a bass guitar. The only person who would help me said he plays a little bass but couldnt answer any of my questions, and mistakenly told me the guitar I was interested in was made in America when it was actually made in Mexico. I found no expert help, just some friendly cashiers.

I just gotta say that this store is great! The staff is amazing! We did not have a good experience at the Tampa location so went to the Lakeland location and they were awesome! We have been back several times now. Our 10 year old son plays the guitar and drums and enjoys coming here just about every weekend now to hang out and try out new instruments. He actually begs us to come. We have now gotten to know some of the employees, everyone is so nice. Jerry the manager was a huge help, gave great information and was just super nice! The employees actually hang out and jam with our son and give him pointers, which you dont get just anywhere....if your looking for a place to buy an new instrument, take lessons, need information or just want to try out new instruments, this is your place!

I was so impressed with the customer service here! Josh took the time to answer all questions and make us feel welcome, and their inventory was excellent too. Highly recommend.

Good Service, prices and options

This is one of the worse guitar centers.

On 4/10/19 I walked into the store with a guitar I ordered that was damaged. Immediately I am assisted by Ms. V who worked at the front desk. She is a great employee and staff member who made sure everything was handled correctly and Im a timely manner. I also ended up getting an even better guitar because of her assistance. Such a nice person who is great with customers. If youre looking for an instrument I highly suggest going to this particular store

If your looking for the best customer service anywhere on this earth you will find that the staff at this store will go above and beyond to help you. I had two instruments that needed attention both of them were fixed tuned. The gentleman who fixed my snare was great. But I would like to bring up one employee his name is Gerardo. He was very professional and kind gave my daughter and I the best customer service I have ever had. We needed a new guitar strung and a Amp cords and ect. He polished the guitar not expecting and gave it the attention like it was his own. I highly recommend this staff member for a raise and praise from upper management. Because of him and others employees we will be back.

I rarely review but this particular Guitar Center is the only place I shop when it comes to DJ Equipment. Ismael is extremely knowledgeable and helps walk you through everything you need to know about buying the right equipment for what you are trying to accomplish. The key there is the RIGHT equipment, not always the most expensive. That kind of help is so valuable. Today I went looking for a specific cable and Liz was so helpful. She had to go the extra mile to find what what I was looking for, but she did it with a smile and a super friendly attitude.Guitar Center Lakeland is the best!!!

I went in to buy an acostic guitar. No one greeted me or anything. Just like I wasnt there. I asked for help. A nice woman said she had to help other people. I asked a repair guy because I thought he was on the floor. He said hed call someone. No customer service so I left. Very bad impression.

This place is great. I asked one guitar guy to come walk me through to find the exact tone I want, gave a budget and was shown what I could do. Its great. The manager always helps me when I come in which is often. Plus Dallas looks like the honey comb guy from the 90s and always helps me out with questions. Go Dallas the honey comb guy!

The food was delicious. The prices are reasonable and my waiter was on point the entire evening. He never missed a beat. I highly recommend place. If you go in Orlando ask for Ron!

Guys are really nice and helpful

If you like buying used merchandise at retail prices youll like this place. Dont be fooled by the 10% or even if youre lucky 15% discounts its definitely not worth it. Youre better off buying direct from the manufacturer paying a full price at least you know youre not buying used equipment.

I traded my old guitar in for a new guitar and got a really good deal. I never thought I would get much for my trade but to my surprise it was a really fair deal!! Would recommend this store ..there is a great BIG selection on instruments prices are reasonable too!!

Staff was super friendly with my kids. Made it a great experience for them. Daughter took the free i teo guitar class and left with great enthusiasm for learning to play. Guy staffing the drum section took time to jam with my 3 year old and played while she danced. She had so much fun.

From the minute I walked in, they were very helpful. I gave the kid my budget and what I wanted, he took me to the guitars, pulled one down and played a couple notes for me.... helped me chooses the perfect one for a great friend! Couldnt be happier! They even let my husband play on the drums... he was like a kid in a candy store! Music makes the heart happy! Thanks Guitar Center! Loved the experience!
