Bought a new stove from this Home Depot. They of course wanted us to put it on our Home Depot card. The sales lady told us if we paid it off in 3 months there was no interest. Well we fell for it. Put it on the Home Depot credit card and wouldn’t you know it, interested charged anyway on my last payment which feel well in between the 3 months no interest rule. They assured me they would credit the charges for the interest on my next bill and to just pay it now. Well again we fell for that. They refused to credit our account. Be careful. The salespeople just say whatever they can think of to get your money

Today my wife & I went to The Lake Zurich store to shop for plants & shrubs. We found the selection, price, and quality of their inventory was great. We didn’t know how, at our age, we could purchase these larger quantities and get them home. Rick came over to us in the yard and asked if we needed help. We asked about delivery and he told us about the store delivery policy that included one flat shipping fee. We were delighted. We went to the Service desk to place the large order but Unfortunately, they told us that this shipping policy did not apply to shrubs, trees, or any other landscaping products. We were dismayed but on our way out Rick asked us if they took care of us at the Service Desk? We told him what had happened and he immediately called the Store Manager and walked us back to the Service Desk. Within a few minutes we had placed an order for almost $800.00 including delivery!Rick, you saved us a lot of time and effort and more importantly, you saved the order from going elsewhere. Great Experience

Home Depot definitely has a big selection. You can find pretty much anything youre looking for at a decent price. Finding and purchasing items is easy, and returns are easy as well. Ive had a good experience with garden purchases and lawnmower repair as well. The only downside is inconsistent helpfulness of staff. Some are great and engaged, some just want to move on.

I love this store but today I had my first bad experience. I had to return some items I didn’t need and the lady named Stacy I think was having a bad day. No smiles, no how you doing. I forgot my card in the car and she expressed some frustration. It was a mistake I’m human! I feel like the first face you are coming to any business is vital to the customer experience.

We have had our ups and downs with Home Depot, but our visit last night was great! We went in to buy flooring for our basement and received the best service from Will in flooring. He helped us narrow down which flooring would be best for what we needed it for (high traffic area with lots of kids around). If you are looking for the best and most honest help with finding flooring, visit Will at Home Depot in Lake Zurich. Well be back to visit him when we need carpet!

What can you say about Home Depot? If you are working on a DIY project, they are the place to go. They have tools, lumber, a huge selection of fixtures and hardware, everything you need for most home improvement projects. Like any place else, you have to pay attention to the quality of what you buy. They sell their share of cheap junk, but unlike other large midwest based DIY stores, Home Depot does sell only cheap junk.The reason for 4 stars, and not 5, is the staff. Yes, some are knowledgeable and frienly, but other are there simply to get a paycheck and dont know, or care, how to help a customer.If you know what you are doing and dont need a lot of help with your project, Home Depot is the place to go.

Earlier in the day, we purchased a replacement lightbulb at Home Depot for a fixture at home. The new bulb didnt work. At this time, it was later in the evening but I needed that light fixture to work so I returned to Home Depot to exchange the bulb for another one that hopefully works. Since I needed to return to the store anyway, I decided to purchase replacement bulbs for the other fixture in the same room because isnt it just typical that once I replace the burned out bulb, the others will probably stop working, as well!! So, I entered the store (yes wearing a mask but entered in through the exit doors-oops my bad)! I was immediately greeted by both a wonderful male and equally wonderful female Home Depot associate. I had less than 15 minutes before I needed to get dinner for the family. Both associates tag teamed me...I feel horrible that I didnt know their names-very unlike me... So male associate took my examples of bulbs and raced off to get me new ones. Simultaneously, female associate processed the return for the non-working bulb and was instantly ready to ring me up for the new ones... Not a second wasted...I was out the door so fast I made it to pickup dinner ON TIME...No joke! This occurred this past Sunday evening. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH TO THESE FANTASTIC, PRODUCTIVE, EXTREMELY HELPFUL HOME DEPOT ASSOCIATES!! Returned home, with hot food for the family, changed ALL of the bulbs...they all work well. Kind of need sunglasses in that room now... LOL!!

Do not consider Home Depot for any installation projects. Their communication is inadequate and they do not come close to meeting their timelines. Constant headaches. In particular, their head of installations, Martin Goetze, was exceptionally horrific at completing the project. He is the person that it gets pushed to after the first few levels of employees make mistakes and he performs worse than all the lower level employees. I hope someone can learn from our mistake of using this company. Interacting with him has convinced my family that it is worthwhile to drive a bit further to spend our dollars at a competitor for all purchases. This project has left our kitchen unfinished, a scratch on my car, and another car covered in saw dust due to their inconsiderate work. Please Beware!

Contract signed in March 2021 for all home windows replacement. Down payment done but tentative install now pushed back by @HomeDepot till mid Sep. Reached out to multiple people, no response. Horrible Customer service.My husband and I ordered window replacements for our entire home on March 2nd, 2021. A down payment was made at the time of contract. As of today, the scheduled tentative install date of August 21st is now pushed back to Sept 2021. This project keeps getting pushed further and further out by Home Depot. Currently install is 7 months out. There has been a lapse on the part of the Sales representative ( did not do regular follow ups with the Village regarding status of permit ) and the Home Depot scheduler ( scheduled us on a Saturday, Aug 21st when village inspections cannot be done ). Instead of taking ownership and correcting error, kept pushing install further out.We are at a loss of words. There is a bet placed among family and friends… “Guess how long Home Depot will take to install ? “. With the current date of Sept 2021 it will be 7 months from the time we signed the contract.Our biggest concern : If Home Depot cannot handle the basic administrative paperwork and scheduling, how will the install be ? Will this be another nightmare that we will have to get through ?If I could give negative scoring I would..but the lowest score is 1star.

Awesome!! I especially love the Home Depot App, its NOT only intended use for just purchasing from on-line!! I actually use the app EVERY time I go into the store. The app will not only tell you the quantity on hand in the store but it tells you exactly which isle & bay that its in & it will even show you a map of inside the store & direct you where to go to find whatever your looking for! Terrible store. Staff run from customers looking for assistance. Broken/returned items are reboxed & put out for resale without being labeled as resale. Returns line is always long. Lumber is all cut to odd sizes despite labelled as particular size! Go to Menards instead.

Possibly had THE WORST customer service experience EVER.Needed to return minor items and misplaced my receipt. They called for a manager (Mike Cadry) to assist with the return and he was absolutely and incredibly rude, arrogant and aggressive. I mentioned I was not sure which card it was on but had cards present to check each one and he proceeded to tell me “Im not running all those cards to check. Im not returning your items thats final!” And then aggressively proceeded to take the return bin that my items were in and dump them back into my cart. The other employee (Alex Carr) standing there was equally as shocked as I was and proceeded to apologize for his inappropriate behavior. When I asked for his superiors name and contact info he asked me to leave the store.As I was on the phone with corporate, he THEN told me he could run my cards but by then I felt it was too late. His temper and mismanagement of a minor return needed to be addressed with higher authority and brought to their attention. Not sure what his initial irritant might have been but I’m really hoping its not stemmed from me being a minority and any possible prejudgement he might have.

I normally dont enjoy going to home improvement stores because Im never sure what to buy. I normally only leave reviews for exceptional service. I used to go to Menards but their customer service has not been helpful the past 2 years. Both trips to the Lake Zurich Home Depot has been wonderful experiences. Tonight I was walking my car full of stuff to my truck and a young man wearing a hat (I wish I knew his name) offered to help me . Last week I also rented a miter saw and the man in the tool department helped me select what I needed and put it into my truck. He consulted with the rental attendant and I rented exactly what I needed and an extension cord. Top notch service. I will definitely be loyal to the Home Depot in Lake Zurich. Thanks!

Customer service is less than terrible. Not only rude but they seemed bothered when you ask them to order products on-line to be picked up at the store. Claim to confidently not offer that as an option....drive over to the Palatine location on Dundee Rd. And they order the same product to be picked up at the Palatine location WITH A SMILE EVERY TIME.Pass poor customer service at the Lake Zurich location. Possible improvements if corporate figures out the financial sieve and they send a training crew over there and trim the fat.

Overall The Home Depot seems to lack in customer service but this store is one of the worst. This review is specifically for the Rental Department. Called to verify they had a concrete saw that I needed. Inquired on rental price, was told $65 for 4 hours. Cool. Go there and I am told that I need to rent a blade as well for an additional $65 for a total of $130. Would have been nice to have that info prior to going there. What good is a saw without a blade? Needless to say I left and went elsewhere. Had much better customer service and got a saw with blade.........for $85.

I usually dont review big box stores because they are just that: big box stores. You need something and they have it so youre going to shop here.However, what makes this one different are the people who work here. A special shout out to Laura in customer service who helped me with an online order. She couldnt find one of the items and told me she would call me back with more info. Yeah, right...who does that?!?! Well, Laura did...she followed up with me and put the item aside so it could be found easily.Lots of people here asking if you need help and able to answer your questions.The garden center was a little anemic but it is the end of season. They do have a small selection of native plants and they looked healthy.

We purchased a 6 ft. tall Christmas Unicorn lawn ornament and a Home Depot two year Protection Plan on 10/02/19. Three days after the 90 day return period expired, the metal frame on one of the wings broke. After receiving conflicting information I was eventually told by Protection Plan Reps that the product was covered by a one year manufacturer’s warranty and was directed to contact Home Depot Customer Service for resolution. Customer Service said they would contact the parts department and I’d receive email notice within 72 hours regarding the claim.Having gotten no response, I called Customer Service again and was told the replacement part was on back order. I was again assured I’d receive email notification within 72 hours with an expected parts delivery date of 4 to 6 weeks. At this time I was also told by both the Customer Service Rep and an in-store Service Rep at Lake Zurich that I could return the damaged product to the store for a full cash refund, including the cost of the Protection Plan.When I again did not receive the promised notification I again contacted Customer Service and was told on Feb. 18th that the part was on backorder from China and would take 2 to 4 months for delivery. With the Christmas holiday season long passed, and not wanting to bother with disassembling the 6 ft tall ornament we decided in good faith to wait for the replacement part.On July 8th, more than 5 months after submitting the claim, a Customer Service Rep was unable to provide any shipping/delivery information, but told me she would contact the vendor and further advise me via email within 48 hours. Consistent with their terrible customer service she failed to follow up with the promised notification.On Sept 4th, seven (7) full months after submitting the claim, I called and was informed that Home Depot had received no response from the manufacturer; they did not know if or when the replacement part would be provided; they were unable to furnish any replacement for the product itself; but I could return the damaged product to the Lake Zurich store for a full refund.I went to the Lake Zurich store where a pleasant service rep at the return counter informed me a manager had to approve a store credit for the full amount paid, but a cash refund could not be given since the original 90 day return period had expired. When I insisted upon receiving a full cash refund as promised by both, the Customer Service Rep and as previously approved by in-store personnel back in February, a supervisor arrived and reiterated a store credit was the only option. An assistant store manager similarly stated I could only receive a store credit, but finally changed her position after calling Home Depot Customer Service. However, she initially only refunded cash for the cost of the lawn ornament. When I pointed out she did not reimburse me for the cost of the Protection Plan, she subsequently processed the additional adjustment and handed me the remaining $18.00 cash without saying a single word or offering any apology or regrets whatsoever.This simple warranty claim languished unresponsively for more than 7 months. Customer Service Reps repeatedly failed to follow through not only on the claim itself, but on their broken promises to update me on the claim’s status. Lake Zurich Home Depot Representatives initially refused to provide a full cash refund on 9/04/20, as they themselves had previously authorized and as promised by Home Depot Customer Service Representatives. And after finally grudgingly relenting to honor their promise, the Lake Zurich assistant store manager handed me the cash refund without expressing any sorrow or regret for their abysmal handling of this matter or for the inconvenience it caused me.Needless to say, I do not intend to patronize the Lake Zurich Home Depot store again and instead will shop elsewhere for my future home improvement retail needs.

I’ve lived in Lake Zurich for 30 plus years. I don’t remember when they opened this store it is the worst store of any kind. They never have what you want. People that work there are rude and sarcastic. They make you wait unnecessarily. They lie to you face. No one knows what they’re doing especially front desk. If you call, they’ll make you wait then hag up on you. Very unprofessional people work there. I thought they would change during this COVID-19, disease but I found no change. Listen, I love home depot, love the store, the products, the prices, etc.But this location has an issue with snarky employees. My 60 year old color blind mother went into the store to have some paint matched to a sage color I picked out for her bathroom. I realize now I should have waited till I got off of work to go with her, but honestly thought your employees would help and be kind enough to simply find anything close to this color for her, again, considering she is shade color blind. Instead she was met with snotty attitudes about how many sage colors you all have and how are they supposed to know which one, etc. I mean, really? If the people in the paint area are unhappy there or dont like their jobs, I know plenty who are in need of jobs right now. Being someone who also works in a retail setting, I know the stress of dealing with everything going on right now, but, when you simply have a nice customer that only wants service, being perfectly polite and kind, to be met with disdain and a piss poor attitude is quite pathetic. To the lady or whatever she is behind the paint counter, lets not meet.

Traditional big box hardware store. Decent selection of tools, hardware, electrical and lumber. Sometimes good deals can be found for on appliances. Selection of cabinetry and windows are also available. In general this is decent store, although I still prefer some other large hardware stores and do my best to frequent the local small hardware store as much as I can.
