Excellent compost for the price. Awesome little secret for the green thumbs around here who know how to step up their garden.

Ordered compost from them, as a base for my new garden. It wasnt long until I realized that what I had gotten wasnt even close to compost, it was finely ground wood chips, which sucked up all the nitrogen I added, held no water, and actually repelled the water I poured on it. All of this caused the few seeds (5-10%) that germinated to create plants that do very little growing and are yellow and sickly. They do have the lowest price for compost and I have no experience with what the other local places sell, but make sure you understand what you are buying, and dont end up making my mistake. This is NOT compost, it is finely ground wood, which they say they add horse manure to, then heat to 150 degrees for an extended period. Based on my experience with it, I would say that however much horse manure they add is not enough, and however long they let it sit for is not long enough. The best used for this would be to add to an already nitrogen rich soil in very small amounts. You have been warned!
