Amazing freshly prepared food, the freshest produce and the guacamole that I have an addiction to. Its really hot and the flavor is majestic!

Great meat selection, fresh fruits and vegetables. My only complaint is the space, the place is too small. The only entrance is the exit, this is a safety matter!

Their marinated meats and chicken were very delicious not salty. Their prepared guacamole made go back twice! Great to snack on w the chips they have on offer. On the check stand they have authentic “coricos” I had to buy for my mom as a souvenir! She was very pleased

Its a good place especially if you are looking for Mexican products. But some of the butchers are very rude. They always want to give you whatever they want. I like to tell them how a want it (For example: If I want to buy pork chops, they give you boneless and I like it to have bone) And when I ask them they get annoy. They tell me to take it that way. They arent giving me anything for free. They dont have to have a bad attitude toward the customers. Isnt the customer always supposed to be right?

A hidden gem of quality fruits, vegetables, and meats, all at prices that are a fraction of white peoples markets. As they have better food, Id rather support them instead. Fruits and vegetables are nearly unbeatable. There is Mexican ice cream here that seems popular and the prepared foods counter is also delicious. Support them and you wont regret it.

I visited Mercado El Rey yesterday to buy pork feet for pozole. The butcher was super friendly and answered all my amateur cook questions about meat cuts and what else they offer (goat, offal, tendon, etc.) and gave me a delicious sample of some spicy and delicious ceviche from the deli. Meat prices were good, lots of spices, veggies/fruits, and Mexican/Central American snacks.

Good produce, meat, groceries.. but they also have ready made food! Dont love SOME of the check out girls though.. if I didnt get attitude and ignored while she spoke to another worker there (BTW.. I speak Spanish! Never assume!) & pretty much threw my change in my hand... I may have given it 5 stars!UPDATE: Went back and a new (I believe) check out girl was as nice as can be AND the already marinated meat for tacos Al Pastor was BOMB!! Im going back! 😁

Very cramped inside. Went to buy some produce and also bought an ice cream. Ice cream counter workers were very slow and uninterested in what they were doing.

I love this store! They have a great selection of produce, including items that can be difficult to find at traditional grocers. Prices are fantastic.

This a good store and all but their customer service is HORRIBLE! The ladies at the fruit stand make you feel like you’re taking their time and the attitude is nasty. I’d rather drive 20-30 mins to Santa Ana where people are proud to serve you. Wouldn’t recommend.

Finally found a legit Mexican market or “ Mercado “ in Irvine/ lake forest . People are super nice and willing to help.

I grew up in the ghetto and this place is the closest thing to the mexican market that I grew up with. This place is clean, friendly and the deals on al pastor and chicken are un beatable. The pollo loco and the al pastor are so tasty and flavorful. This is my go to!

I just moved to Lake Forest from LA where I am spoiled with amazing mexican marts like El Super, El Superior & North Gate. I found this place on Yelp/Google and the reviews were good. But my experience was horrible. The service was pretty horrible, and the guy are the carnicera purposely ignored me (although I was thier first with no one else around) as soon as a hispanic gentleman walked up. It was unfortunate. The workers even talked trash about me in spanish and I am 85% fluent in spanish. It was almost like a caucasian female never stepped foot in that market before. The prices were okay, nothing comparable to the markets I am used too. I wouldnt go again, their service was unlike anything I have ever experience in a Mexican Mart before. Truly sad.

Very bad experience they have gone several times since we bought Hawaiian and they barely put honey on it almost nothing I decided to ask for extra inside and outside no matter the price I just want it as I like it and the last 2 times they gave me honey outside but the third time I asked them the same inside and one side outside they charged me for .95 cents which is fine I did not mind paying but when I got home the honey did not come in the bag that disappointed I was ... when I opened my fruit and they had not put honey inside it was dry some strawberries in bad condition :( what a bad service that disappointment I will return to the champion one star because there is no less :(

The good news is the following: You find products from Latin America, variety and assortment.The bad: products more expensive than elsewhere, about 15% or 20% higher in price.In conclusion: You can buy one or another product that we really want to get, but I do not recommend it to buy the basic basket at home.
