I brought my Nissan here and Kevin took care of everything. At the time we had 2 of our vehicles breakdown and I was really overwhelmed with the prospect of swapping out a transmission and fixing my truck at the same time. Kevin made the process fast, easy, and he even saved us money on the repairs. I dont give reviews often, but when I do its because they are absolutely deserved. I would absolutely recommend this AAMCO location for you transmission needs.
Richard went above and beyond to get me the best deal. I had to replace my transfer case and front drive shaft. Richard kept me up to date everyday my Jeep was in the shop. I would definitely recommend this place for service. Thank you Richard and the mechanics for the great work!
I have 2008 Mercedes GL450 (145,500miles) with problems with transfer case for couple of month. Auto shops in my city ( RSM ) asked me more than U$2500 with 6,000-12,000miles warranty. However, AAMCO offer me U$2,100 with 18 months /18,000miles warranty. It has been more than 3 months with 5,000miles. So far, transmission runs like new and Im very satisfied with my decision.
I took my car here to get my clutch replaced and I had nothing, but a fantastic experience from beginning to end. Incredible customer service from Richard and the work he and his crew did on my car is wonderful. This new clutch shifts just like it did when it was new and that was over 12 years ago. Only took a day to get it done too! Highly recommend taking your car here. You wont regret it!
Richard M. Did a fantastic job in ensuring that I was involved in every step of the process from showing me the work he did, pictures of the work, and what to expect in the future as far as maintenance. The price was great and they finished ahead of time that they gave me for my wait... will definitely be back for future maintenance.
Took vehicle to get transmission leak and brakes repaired under payjment program at Aamco. The car also had leaking valve cover gaskets and rear main seal on the engine. I wanted the engine oil and filter changed also. When I picked up the vehicle and started to drive it home it was making power steering noises. I checked the fluid when I got home and it was full with no air bubbles, but making noise when wheels were turned. It was fine prior to the repair. I waited a few days to see if it would work itself out (possible trapped air) with no improvement. I called Kevin and he said it was not making noise when they test drove it. I find that hard to believe as it was fine prior to the repair. I decided to check the transmission and engine oil today. The oil was not changed and was a quart low. The transmission was also a quart low. I topped off both. Very dissatisfied as how can mechanics not fill up the transmission and do something with the power steering during the repair. There should have been no question and they should have offered to make the repair good. I spent over $2,500 for this repair and I dont want them to work on the car again and get into a debate with Kevin that my car was not making the noise.
Wow, one of the best experiences! I took my 1999 Toyota 4 Runner here that had a transmission problem. Previously Ive taken it to other mechanics but they couldnt figure out the real problem until I came to Aamco! Thankfully (David) the owner of the shop & his team saved the day! Not only did they get the job dont but they also fixed it quickly and in the end was a lot cheaper than I expected! Overall this was one of the best experiences I had when it comes to taking my car to a good mechanic! Im not a car guy so they did what they knew had to do and I am very very impressed! 5 Star review well deserved
I brought my car in to have the fluids changed and left with my car feeling brand new! Not only did Richard help me out with inspecting my car and showing me everything that needed maintenance, I was able to get it all done for half of what the dealership tried charging me. And I learned a lot about my car as well. I had such a great experience here and will definitely recommend my friends and family to this mechanic. Thanks Richard!! PS: thank you for also cleaning my embarrassing filthy car and the new mats. It really does feel brand new😁
Richard was one of the best people I have ever worked with. Thanks to Richard M. and John the mechanic they saved my life. Recommend them for sure. The best in town
My car brook down and my gear would not move to any positions so since it’s BMW I called mover company and took it to Irvine BMW they told me will cost 6 grand and I almost fainted. We found AAMCO and we towed my car to them in Lake Forest and KJ Cooper was so kind and professional by just talking to him it help me so much to calm my nerves and he went above and beyond to help me and he always would answer my call with patient and professional and if I would not understand he would calmly explain in single easy matter. He only charged me 460.80 he was not looking for making big bucks he tried to look for main problem and fixed it. I never trust mechanics but I am lucky that I found him and will recommend him 100%
Easy to fear the worst when you suddenly see transmission fluid on your driveway... they were able to fix my Jeep same-day at a fair price. Very much appreciated!
If anyone needs a Auto Shop/Mechanic they can trust I highly recommend Aamco Transmissions in Lake Forest for all your repairs on your vehicle. Richard the shop manager took very good care of me like I was part of his family. Richard is always willing to go that extra mile to make sure you are satisfied. What I really liked about Richard and the mechanic there John McMeekin is they are both very honest, professional and tell you the truth of what needs to be replaced on your vehicle. They don’t try to rip you off like other shops I’ve been to. In the future I will only go to Aamco Transmission for I found the best shop to service all my vehicles in the future to come. I highly recommend this shop to everyone who needs work done on their vehicle. Richard and John thank you so very much for taking care of my vehicle, and making me feel like I am family at Aamco Transmissions.Best Regards, Bill Piercy
I seldom rate businesses but being in the Commercial Truck business for over 40 years I need to write this up! I gave up working on vehicles about 20 years ago when I moved to California since I did not have a big garage and big lot to play around. My 2008 Saturn had a load noise and I suspected it was the transmission or front end....well surprise, it was both. Took the car to AAMCO in Lake Forest, CA and Anton was all over the issue. The communications from him were incredible and this is probably one of the skills most businesses lack. He called daily and gave me updates and worked through the issues and let me make the decisions. He went as far as researching used parts and strived to control the labor and parts. He actually cut out a good chunk of the labor that I know other repair shops would have charged. I got the car back and it was quite and drove like it was new.I highly recommend if you have any mechanical issues or just need an oil change to head over to AAMCO. The one other surprising issue is a competitor that did not feel was qualified to make the repair actually referred me to AAMCO. Thanks so much Anton.
Good service!! David took very good care of everything! It was fast service and he was honest! Affordable prices! I definitely recommend this place! My car is running like its brand new! So glad I came here! Thanks guys! Couldnt of have had a better experience!
I recently moved here from Northern California and have been dreading finding a new mechanic to go to. After some research, Im incredibly glad I found AAMCO Transmissions. Erik is the man in charge and is very transparent about his work. On top of that, he is incredibly responsive and if I don’t answer my phone he leaves a message with an update on my car!My 02 Lexus started shifting clunky and these guys checked it out for free before quoting pricing. While I did end up needing to fix my transmission, they offered financing for 12 months NO INTEREST. They were pretty quick as it only took 4 days for the entire process of fixing the transmission.Overall, I had as pleasant of an experience as you can have at an auto repair shop. A place of professionalism...go see Erik if you decide to go!!
These guys where the most professional shop I’ve ever been to. The service was nothing less than amazing! I took my truck in, told them my problem and that I had a trip coming up. They immediately got me in the shop and took care of me. I will be coming back to them for any and all services in the future. They are no nonsense kind of guys. I would absolutely recommend them.
The employees were all very kind and helpful. My total bill came out to be $68 less than my original quote. That never happens. My car was ready when they told me it would be ready, that never happens either. I’m a very happy customer!
There a joke took my car in for transmission they pulled the eng.Messed it up and i had to spend more money repairing the damages from their incompataint employeesDO NOT TAKE THERE $140 HR SHOP RATE
So AAMCO seemed like a good place to drop off my truck to have it fixed, well they quoted me super fast, I authorized them to go into transmission etc to find the problem was quoted $7200 which they called me religiously to get payment after payment I hear literally NOTHING for over a month... even when I called no one knew a thing! Thankfully the general manager eventually made a appearance and got everything back on track and actually called me back! You figured after spending that much money they would make a effort to keep in contact. Also my truck had random fluid on the outside which now I have to wash and the inside of my truck stinks to high heaven... Im livid this truck is our everything for our horse rescue its a all around a disappointing and frustrating situation that went on way too long.
As I write this my vehicle is still sitting in the parking lot at the AAMCO on Division in Lancaster. It has been there for several days supposedly done except for a 10 minute programming that must be done at the dealership. This has proven yet another task too tall for this facility to accomplish.I dropped my car here 24 days ago with the hope that a place that brands itself as transmission professionals could do a quality job fixing the transmission in my 2010 Mazda 3. After hearing from their guy Eddie about the issues with the transmission and agreeing to the several thousand dollar repair, I was given an estimate of 5 days for the car to be fixed. After 5 days I still had not heard anything from Eddie or anyone else. Being that it was the day before Thanksgiving I felt I would give them that, so I called Friday a few times and only ever got Eddies voicemail. I called again the following Monday and spoke to someone saying they were still waiting for parts. I called again the next day and after dealing with someone who had trouble even locating information on my car (it turns out that neither he nor Eddie were even located at the facility in Lancaster, but instead in Lake Forest and had likely never even seen the car) he asked me to hold and returned saying that the car was finished and that it needed to just have a test drive and he would call me right back after. This did not happen, because as I learned in a call the next day with someone who actually worked at the Lancaster facility, the parts for my car still had not come in. After 13 days of being in the hands of transmission professionals and all of the repairs being paid for my car still sat waiting.Once again, it now stands at 24 days of my car being out of my hands despite thousands of dollars being paid to this facility. In that time I have made several phone calls and even a visit with nothing more than lies and excuses to show for it, while I have received a total of 3 calls from them. Two of which were from Eddie in Lake forest to tell me what was wrong and get payment to fix it. This I found out was because the owner of the Lancaster facility decided for a time that it was for some reason better to put communication with his customers in the hands of people who would never be personally accountable to them over 2 hours away. The attitude that seems to exist that I am somehow putting them out by needing my car back, that I should just be waiting calmly for their call nearly a month in is what is most infuriating. I came here seeking a professional experience and have been shown a complete lack of consideration. I wouldnt pay that much money to get a vehicle fixed if I was good with it being kept out of use for that long. There are a lot of choices out there for getting work done on your vehicle. My suggestion is to find somewhere other than here.
I took my Honda Civic here for an oil change. I usually do my own oil changes but this time I didnt have enough time to do it before a long road trip. It was fast and at a good price! David, the owner, was really friendly and I will be back next time I need anything else done with my car.
I had an unexpected vehicle issue. That required me to take my Chevy Equinox in for transmission repair. I found Aamco in Lake Forest. My contact was Andy who kept me updated on the progress of my vehicle each step of the way.Thank you Andy for repairing my vehicle which is running smoothly and your personalized Customer Service
Fast service, reliable and cost effective.
I came here with to replace my brakes on my Honda Element. I work in the area so it was easy for me to get it done during my lunch. Their hours are 8am-5pm so getting it done before or after work wont work for me. I was very happy with the service and will return again.
I am so grateful that I came to Aamco recently for my oil change and service. I typically go to the dealership, but feel like I pay so much more and the service tends to take so long. The service technicians and team at Aamco are incredibly professional, knowledgeable and really nice. In addition to my oil change appointment, they did a thorough inspection with my car. They topped off all my cars fluids and also pointed out that my air filters really needed to be changed and updated, too. I was impressed with how quickly they were able to turnaround the service on my car and how reasonable the pricing was. Very happy with the great experience! I will definitely be a return customer!
Beyond amazing service!! David took very good care of everything and very professional. He was honest and had very good pricing! Also it was quick service! They do pretty much everything here! I definitely recommend!! My car is running like it’s brand new! So glad I found this place! Thanks guys! Couldn’t of had a better experience!! 👍🏼
I was stranded in Lake Forest recently while out there on my way to have lunch with a friend and my car started overheating. It had recently been in for its bi-annual service so this was surprising to me.I was lucky enough that Aamco was right nearby. I told them what the problem was and they were quick to diagnose a worn radiator cap (why didnt my regular service guy see that?) and a few dollars later I was back on the road. The service staff were courteous and efficient, and I cannot thank them enough for quickly figuring out what was causing the problem, correcting it and getting my car ready to drive again!
I am so satisfied with their service that I recommend them to my friends and neighbors. David has been fair with my friends and I and I will continue to count on David and his team to keep my vehicle on the road. AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care is a very respectable business and I will continue to bring my car there for service.
DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION.I took my car here to save a little money compared to the dealership. Turns out the incompetent mechanics reversed the wiring to the starter and when it wouldnt start accused me if having a kill switch in my beat up 2006 Scion.I arrived and within 5 minutes determined it was a short, asked them to check the starter, and was ignored. It took them THREE DAYS to figure out what I did in 5 minutes. In their hurry to get rid of my car, they failed to put in a multitude of bolts -my fusebox was rattling around, they stripped out two lug nuts and part of the splash guards came loose and ate through my front passenger side tire. Luckily I was not in the freeway at the time.Oh and they charged my credit card without authorization for final payment. If I could, Id give negative stars.
I travel all over Southern California for work, and earlier today I noticed my trucks check engine warning came on and felt the engine skipping as I accelerated. I need my truck to make a living, so I needed to get it fixed a.s.a.p. I was in Lake Forest, so I went to Aamco and talked with David. He took my truck in immediately and quickly diagnosed the problem and gave me a very reasonable quote for services. I got my truck back same-day and it is running smooth as ever. Thanks to David, I am back in business! Fast, professional, and honest service!
DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS AAMCO!!! THEY HAVE BEEN THROUGH 3 MANAGERS IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS SINCE WE HAVE BEEN TAKING OUR VEHICLE TO THEM. THIER MECHANICS ARE NOT CAPABLE OF DOING ANY WORK ON ANYONES VEHICLE IF THEY ARE CERTIFIED I WONDER IN WHAT? I HAVE PAID THOUSANDS TO THIS AAMCO AND HAVE BEEN GIVEN TERRIBLE SERVICE. I HAVE HAD TO TAKE IT BACK NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEY JUST FIND OTHER WAYS TO CHARGE ME OR IT TAKES DAYS FOR THEM TO FIX SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE TAKEN A FEW HOURS. THE OTHER PEOPLE ON YELP THAT GAVE ANYTHING MORE THAN ONE STAR MUST BE FRIENDS OF THE OWNER. EVERYONE INCLUDING THE BUSINESS AROUND AAMCO LAUGH AS THE COPS ARE CONSTANTLY CALLED. THERE WAS A GUY IN THERE WHEN I WAS PICKING UP MY VEHICLE COMPLAINING ABOUT WHAT THEY DID TO HIS CAR, AS NOTHING WAS DONE AND ITS BEEN THREE WEEKS. ALSO, THERE IS NO ROOM FOR THEM TO PARK YOUR VEHICLE, LET ALONE ROOM FOR THE PERSON PICKING YOU UP TO PARK. YOUR CAR WILL GET DAMAGED, JUST LIKE MINE DID.
Spent 3K+ on a new transmission after being told it would be much less at the start. After picking up the car and driving for a while smoke started poring out of the engine. Turns out they forgot to CONNECT to tubing.Total joke would never go there again!!!
I was extremely impressed with Aamco service as they went the extra mile on issues I was unaware of. I had a check engine light come on and was told through a friend that David at this Aamco location would take care of my need. It turned out David said I needed to replace my radiator. I was also told that my air filtration unit needed to be replaced. Sometimes you never know if its legit but I saw the old air filter and no question it was filthy and it was time to replace. David was precise and detailed as my radiator was less than I assumed so the extra money I planned to spend was enough to cover the air filter service. My car is running great and I already see a difference in improved gas mileage.
Very helpful and understanding
Called to get information to rebuild my transmission.Their full of it.Dont go there.
Friendly people. They went above and beyond to provide quality service for my car. They are highly dedicated to make your vehicle perform at its best.
I will NEVER bring another vehicle to this place again, and would encourage you to look for another location as well. Unless, of course, you want the most unprofessional service and your vehicle damaged upon its return. My vehicle was slowly leaking coolant over the course of a week or two. After learning it would cost approximately $4500 to fix, I elected to just pay the bill and will buy another car as its a 2003 and needs more money to fix it than what Im willing to put into it at this point. I told them to replace the fluid and add a stop leak bottle as this was the last option available. When I picked up my vehicle, I noticed my white Landover was covered with greasy handprints all over the vehicle. The passenger-side of the hood was BENT up almost an inch while the driver side was recessed, moldings were not retightened around the windshield and were flopping about! Not to mention a soda was spilled all over my new bumper that was left with disregard.Further, I drove about 1 mile when my vehicle began to overheat. Upon inspecting it, they NEVER added the leak stop NOR did they replace the coolant as they were paid to do. In short, they just haphazardly through the pieces they removed back on the car, didnt replace the screws in many of the areas, left greasy hand prints and sticky soda on it, and never did what they were paid to do!DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO THEM. Im sure there are other AAMCO locations that are reputable -- this, however, isnt one of them! Im happy to share the photos with anyone who wants to see them...
Bad customer service on phone. Price changed 3 times on me.
I have had good experience with AAMCO Lake Forest. The guy at the front desk is always helpful. The staff is professional, and I have no complaints with their service.
Simple and straight forward these guys fixed my card with an honest cost less than $200 where the Nissan dealership quoted me to replace the whole transmission about 5K. Really helpful people to work with.
Purring like a kitten. Transmission failed, we were out of the BMW got months :( problem? Quote was 4K onward .We called around relentlessly, finally David spoke to us, told us that he would investigate the root of the problem before quoting us (as others had).He not only fixed our rubber bushings, but also completed a bunch of things we had broken.Overall amazing service, he charged us less than everyone else had and went above and beyond.
I have a problem with my gears it wont go to drive and not going through, so I decided to call AAMCO at Lake Forest, I spoke to this soft spoken man name Kenny and I told him the whole problem and whats going on my car, then he asked me if I would like to tow my car in their shops so at first I am skeptical cause I have to go on my budget first. Then decided to call him again and they towed my car that afternoon. The next day I went there with my boyfriend and finally met kenny, I guess he is the manager and he told us about whats the problem of my car. Then I know its a lot of work and talking about financing plan which is really helping me out a lot. He is very helpful and so nice and also those mechanics like Mor and Horacio and others. after three days my car is done and I picked it up the next day. I am completely satisfied on what they did on my car. I will recommend this AAMCO at lake forest to anyone. What a great People. Excellent job !!!
They fixed my car transmission with 0 quality, it took 3 weeks to repair. After 5 months again the transition gone and it is 2 weeks my car is there and they dont want to do the warranty that I have theyre just wasting my time. I dont know what can i do?!!!
Great customer service .. Always free inspections ..
I just picked up my car and I couldnt be happier!!! When my engine light came on I was so worried about some big problem and was kind of fricking out!! I had AAAMCO check it out and it turned out to be just my gas cap!!!! Thank you AAMCO for being honest with me!!!!!!!
They were very patient with us and were wonderful I am so grateful! Thanks
Brought my SUV in for a transmission problem & Aamco couldnt figure it out. I dropped off my SUV on Thurs, 8/9 @ 10:30am & picked up today Tues @ 2:30pm, 8/14 with no diagnosis. To make matters worse, they used up 3/4 of my gas & left me with an empty tank. Of course I didnt notice until after getting home.
Great job & fast fix of my headlights & blinkers
He was very polite and listened to me, Thank you!!
Took 42 days to get my car back for a minor repair. The staff never called to provide an update. They were rude and had an excuse for everything
Great service ask for Ken
3rd time is a charm???
