I went here for oil change. all staff were super polite and helpful. the person was working on my car was so good and take car of my car carefully. Every thing I asked them they did it for me even check my spare tire pressure.the only matter happened was they ran out of oil brand that I asked for. and when I asked for reason they were so polite and without any argument they did not charge me anything. and I really apricate their customer service. even I was willing to pay.

Ive always had good experience with Pep Boys (multiple locations), but todays appointment at the Lake Forest Pep Boys was so good it deserves a special shout-out! There were many good little things about this visit, but the one thing that stood out was I wanted to get a transmission fluid flush for my Honda. Jorge took special care to find the right transmission fluid for my car, and when he could not, he told me so, which cost him some work, but I really appreciated his honesty! (A shady mechanic would have just used whatever he had to earn some money.). This Pep Boys is the first place I call whenever I need anything done to my car!
I had my break done there in Feb ‘21 because my car was shaking a bit when using a break. I got it done with pepboys Lake Forest location for $600. After a week same problem started, went there and they did some fix which could persist one more week.. again I called them today when my car started shaking like a roller coster ride then gave me an estimate of $500 for break again.. Men seriously! I thought manager would be able to look into this situation but NO.. useless fellows.. never ever going with Pepboys again.. worst experience
Tire was coming apart. Stopped at Lake Forest Pep Boys and they call around to another Pep Boys. They had the tires I needed and one of their employees went and got the tires. They installed tires,checked with a test drive and was able to get home safely. O and did I mention that I had just picked up my wife from hospital. The Manager made sure she was in a good place for her comfort not outdoors in the cold. GREAT TEAM OF EMPLOYEES, ABOVE AND BEYOND my expectations.
Needed battery replacement. People were highly recommended. Their work matched what people said about them. Courteous, helpful, fairly priced. Very much will revisit.
It felt picked over, under stocked and under staffed. I guess they are more of a parts warehouse at this location, but the little easy things I needed they didnt have. I havent been into this pep boys for a while and Id rather go where the shelves are stocked with plenty of useful things as many other locations are.4 aisles just didnt do it for me. Bulb? No. Gasket material? No, horses by the foot? No. Oh well
Management at this store is a joke. Expect to wait for anything. Like, a really really long time. Right now I am standing at checkout waiting for the one poor girl in the store running the parts counter and register. Funny thing is there are four guys at the pro desk sitting there staring off into space. Unfortunately, this store has remained this way every time I have needed to come here over the last few years. I do not expect this to be changed at all. Bad captains are just bad captains until theyre gone. 🤷 This is merely a heads up for anyone visiting to be prepared to wait long waits for no good reason. My heart goes out to the few diligent employees I have witnessed going above and beyond to try and pull the other peoples weight.

Caring, courteous and professional customer service, especially by Jorge, who assisted me throughout the diagnostic, service and replacement of my radiator. Car repairs are always stressful and he put me at ease. The technicians quickly identified why my engine light went on and in one day were able to replace my radiator and thermostat housing. The pricing was competitive so I didnt find that I was being overcharged. The technicians adhered to all Covid-19 safety precautions as well in the interior of my car. I would have been without a car for over a week plus paid three times as much if Id taken my car to the dealership. Hopefully I wont have any more car repairs, but if I do, Ill definitely be coming back here. These guys were my hero with my car emergency. Thank you for giving me the white glove treatment from start to finish!
I’m not the one who reviews any restaurant or any other place and especially not the one to leave a negative review.I’ve been a pep boyz customer for several years with multiple cars. I’d just come here for every minor or major auto repair. But recently there quality has dropped so bad that I’d never ever go back there again.I gave them back to back chances. 1st they did my breaks, charged me about 350$ but didn’t do a good job. Second came here to repair one bulb but ended up getting charged 240$ for some other tiny bulbs. I guess they needed to be changed but 240$ sounded kind of excessive. And last one I remember was coming here for an oil change on a slow Saturday morning. Bro I kid you not I waited 4 hrs. I was told it will take an hour and a half because I was a walk-in and didn’t had the appointment. I was totally fine with waiting 1:30 but 4 hrs like c’mon bro.So yep never going to come back here or recommend anyone.S/o to those twin brothers though. They always took good care of me and other customers. And I think the other employees name is Sergio. Really chill guy and would give me offers and discounts. But haven’t seen them recently when I had all these bad experiences

Closes 15 minutes early, just be forewarned if trying to get in there last minute.

After getting ZERO help from Autozone, I found Pep Boys down the street. I thought I might be looking at a $200 repair (parts/labor) but these guys hooked me up with a simple fix at no charge. Ill be shopping at Pep Boys from now on. Thank you guys!
Disappointed with my service. I will not be coming back to this location. The employees were very rude and had a “don’t bother me” kind of attitude and did not answer any of my questions clearly. I’d rather go some place else, even if it means paying more for my services.

CLUELESS PEOPLE WHO LIE AND DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOINGI dropped off my vehicle at this location to have a bulb replaced and they broke the bulb, which caused an electrical issue and is going to cost me over 1K to fix.Whats worst is the way they tried to brush things under the rug:When I initially dropped off my vehicle they told me they could replace it, but when I picked up my vehicle at a later time, they told me they couldt reach it so they werent able to replace it and told me to kick rocks pretty much. So shady on their part.It would have been more ethical and acceptable if they would have at least admitted they attempted to replace it and the bulb broke when they tried to reach it but they clearly didnt want to be liable.
This is the closest auto parts store to me but half the time Im here the staff are useless and have a cant be bothered attitude. The other issue I have is they need to know the store inventory, if not find the answer. Most people coming here are looking for help having a clueless staff definitely doesnt help. The store is usually clean and stocked but lately they havent had what Im looking for.

A little iffy- prices oil change have increased and service manager not overly proactive validating service coupons to determine if the coupon is effective . He claims he has to wait until work has been done to see if coupons sent by PEP Boys apply toward labor reduction. Thus, otherwise service seems adequate.
Place has probably the best customer service I have ever experienced. Had to bring my work truck here for a service. Guys really know their stuff and will call to make sure you are getting the best service you can get

Rebate Scam: I have had no issue with the work performed or the timeliness, the employees were competent and nice people, but the rebate offer has become a total joke. First they claimed I didnt include a receipt with my rebate mail-in. I absolutely know I included a receipt as I packaged the envelope myself. Now they are claiming they didnt receive my follow-up correspondence and want me to send yet another copy via certified mail. Im sick of rebate scams ... who has time to deal with this garbage?

Great shop with a large selection of products and services.Ran in because my car battery died next door. They were helpful over the phone as well as inside. The store was clean and well stocked. A customer service representative greeted me within a minute of entering the store asking if he could help me find anything. Which was great because...its all Greek to me. I am greatful for so many reasons, in regards to the July 4th crew especially the gentleman that went above and beyond his enthusiasm was just what I was neading. DON’T COME HERE WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT! They had my car for an oil change nearly 6 hours before it was looked at! They (Devon) promised it would be done inside of 3 hours, and it wasn’t until I arrived in person to complain, that suddenly they could get my car in right away. No one seemed to have a sense of urgency, and the shop was apparently under staffed for the “heavy” appointment load they had. They should have called in a tech to take up the slack, but of course that would dip into profitability. There are too many choices in this kind of service- I WILL NEVER RETURN.- T Morse, Lake Forest
Worst customer service. Employee finishing a text on his phone, sitting behind the counter, before assisting me. Needed a CABIN air filter, specifically said CABIN air filter multiple times. You guessed it, he sold me the intake air filter. I discovered this when I went to put it in my car. I came back to exchange it with the same guy and he uses a condescending tone, as if IM to blame. Get off your phone in front of customers and you might hear people correctly... After looking up a lightbulb for me, he gives me the part number and doesnt even offer assistance finding the tiny bulb. Didnt even point me in the general direction. Thanks. They were missing books to look up your own parts in the aisles and their electronic look-up devices were broken.Id Google maps it over to Auto Zone, if you guys want my honest review of this disaster of an auto parts store.
Friendly staff; clean and organized store; allowed me to test the needed sockets for size on my stuck bolt on my truck in the parking lot before buying. I am impressed with the friendliness amd knowledge of the youthful and good spirited staff. The tool selection is great for a tool needed for a late night project and the quality of the tools has gotten a lot better compared to when I got my first car in the 80s.
2001 Chevy express she told me no headlight for that year only 2004 and up. Ok i when to the rack its a standard square with three plugs. According to her i cant drive my van at night. Nice pep boys lady.

I had to stop here due to flat tires. And I also needed new tires. The place costs more, no discounts. I had a better quote at Goodyear, but bad luck for me.The front desk gave quick estimates for time, but it took the double the time to complete. Tire replacement service charge is higher than any other place I know.

Their parts department usually has well-informed employees and is well stocked. However, the service department is geared only for making money. They have misdiagnosed multiple issues on many of my family and friends cars just to sell them parts and services that they really did not need. They dont have the knowledge to thoroughly diagnose an issue that may require deeper investigation. This store was recently revamped so that the warehouse is bigger and the show floor where the goods are displayed is about 3/4 the size of what it used to be.

Big mistake..I was told to come on by for a small vehicle service after I called and confirmed I could have it done that day..said Id be there with 30 min he said ok no problem..go there 40 min later and Im told the service guy left..they are still open for 3 more hours when I got there and only 1 other car there.. I drove 20 miles to come to this location....Im just absolutely furious..1000% Ill never step foot in another pepboys..year after year I try to give another shot...just pointless.... dont waste your time going here

This store cheats on the price. I showed them the 30% discount QR in my cell, the guy scanned and told me it was recorded. I got home and checked my receipt to find out it actually did not. Is it by their intention or just accident? or because of their computer system? Be careful at check out. I shall not get service from them in the future.

My car battery died and there was bad corrosion. I talked to Sergio who told me to bring it in. Jason did a really thorough job and got it cleaned and working perfect. No issues with my battery just bad corrosion. No upsell, just honest and hardworking guys. I love this place. Ill definitely be back.

I really like that I can buy a Bosch car battery here for only $122 for my car, which is the Consumer Reports 2nd highly rated battery in quality and longevity. It has a 3 year free replacement warranty! (The 1st place in Consumer Reports costs $250!! No way!)

Got my brake pads on a Honda Civic replaced here. Pricing and quality of the components wasnt bad but the labor was a bit more than I thought it would be bit then again, this is just like any other garage looking to make a killing on labor hours. I should have asked around and gotten a recommendation for a local mom and pop shop.Left wishing I had been pleasantly surprised and wasnt.
Smaller store compared to other stores but have enough stuff you need. Bring a smaller store, getting assistance in choosing products you need could be a challenge but once you have somebody to help you, they are just happy to assist. Not easy to notice from regular traffic but shows on Google maps easily. Parking is free.

It was Friday night around 7PM, I had a flat tire and my engine light blinking like Christmas light everywhere. Subaru dealer does not handling flat tire so I decided to swing over the next place that I can see still open.I went over Pep Boys hoping their service center still open and voila, they are. The service desk man was very nice and listened to my problem and took my order very quickly. He did not ask me millions of questions or tried to sell me things that I dont need at the moment.I went in the waiting room with my iPad thinking this will take a while so I put on a movie. Theres a huge glass window that I can see everything right in front of me how Justin servicing my car. I was impressed how detailed Justin took his time to go through every detail of the process changing the engine oil and took out flatted tire and fixing it right in front of me. I did not know how much work involve just doing 2 things I thought in my head were simple thing. I was wrong.It was Friday night right before the store close, Justin was not rushing a bit working on my car, he inspects everything, put everything back in place even my spare tire and he even filled the air to have proper weight.All I can say, I was amazed and so pleased that how things got handle so well at this place. Pep Boys Auto in Lake Forest is now my only place I go to get all my services with my Subaru Crosstrek.I only speak through my experience and I dont write review much but the one really stick out I have to share so that other people can feel at ease to take their car to.

I came in with my 2015 Subaru WRX for a front and rear brake change. Turns out they forgot to bolt in my front calipers when putting it together! I drove for 2 days before I started hearing this terrible grinding noise. I immediately took it to the Subaru dealership where I found out they hadn’t been bolted in and had been grinding against my inside wheel well! I paid twice as much to have my car fixed! Avoid at all costs!

Old man employee named Al who insulted my wife for having an electric vehicle, joined in with a customer who was verbally assaulting her--incredibly inappropriate. Worst service ever! On Wednesday Oct. 19th at 1400. I went in for an engine diagnosis, I waited for over 2 hours with no call. I called and the service team replied they have not worked on my car. 10 min later I walked in to take my car to good year. service member Andrew replied we worked on your car.1) how could my car be fully checked in 10 mins?Andrew replied with an rude attitude they just did, service team, the mechanic and manager said they had the part And will be able to fix it in an hour to an hour in a half. I agreed. Because any way ill be paying for no service. I leave and come back over an hour. Never got any calls, when I walked in they said they dont have the part it was the wrong part!I have been patiently waiting For 5 hours. Ive got an alignment service at this shop. That was so bad experience. Alignment was made not correct. I came back and asked to check it. Shop manager, Joshua, said me I need come tomorrow, because there are so many cars scheduled for today. Next day alignment was made at appointment time. I checked it on freeway and I saw that steering wheel stays in wrong position. I came back to Joshua and let him know the problem. He said me that he is ready give my money back and I need to find another shop to fix that. I didnt want to looking for another shop and asked to fix the problem. Alignment specialist made something with my car and said everything is good. Steering wheel was in right position and I gone. Later I saw that my cars alignment is wrong. I never come back there to repair my car.
The staff were helpful when looking for something in parts inventory. The retail store is smaller than in the past...a result of a recent remodel. It reduced the retail space to about a third of what it was. The store is now crammed with behind-the-counter racks for auto parts.

The ONLY thing that saved this review from a negative rating was the Service Manager. He handled our issue professionally and appropriately and was what most are not, honest and followed thru with what he said. Service otherwise needs improvement and staff needs a reality check that customers are not your homeboys on the street and you dont speak to them with attitude or impatience. Took my car in for tire mount and balance. Drove away and on my way home low pressure light came on. Pulled into the gas station and they only put in 10-15lbs in both rear tires. Good thing I didnt hop on the freeway!!!!
Wish I got his name, was in 830pm on 9/12/18, one of their cashiers helped me figure out an issue I had with a thermostat, got me the seal I needed to go with it, and was very nice and knowledgeable.

I find that OReilly, AutoZone and Pep Boys are all about the same. Carbon copies of each other. Pep Boys works on cars as well. There are some giant stores like the one in Aliso Viejo, which is open later and is larger than the other local stores. I havent had a particularly positive or negative experience but will say this, if you bring your receipt they do issue refunds. Dont lose your receipts as these are not the highest quality products on Earth. Buyer Beware! They do offer a lot of stuff that made them the best choice for me recently but like I said, can you really tell Walmart from Kmart? Ross from TJ Maxx, Michaels from Hobby Lobby? Same contents, different layout. No discernible price difference.

Pep boys carries major brands like Bosch and Akebono. Not private labeled noname parts. And they have fantastic sales. Buy it on line, pick it up in the store.
My dad and I purchased a used car and the men that work here did a great job checking out the car and doing the oil change that was needed.
The most reasonable priced car service & all of the above . . . very educated, willing to help you out personal 😁 !
