November the 11th 2020 I took my 1992 Dodge ram 150 To powers automotive To have my transmission removed and the front seal put in I paid him $350 for the job Which come to find out He did not perform the duties I went to small Queens court and filed paperwork And after several months the judge ruled in my favor He refuses to get nail refund text tells me when when when he wins the lottery hell pay me back Im Im a Veteran And this is how he treats veterans

I recommend the shop on customer service alone. My mother was traveling from Louisiana to south Florida when she got a nail in her tire. I live in Louisiana and was 7 hours from her. I called all around lake city and the gentleman here came out on a Sunday to help my mother. I appreciate you guys at Power auto so much. It’s nice to know there are still good people out there. John was very friendly and welcoming. Broke down driving from South Florida to the Canadian border. He quickly took a look at the problem and we were out within a few hours. If you need a mechanic, this is the place to go.

UPDATE: It has been two weeks since I left the review below and I still dont have the receipt. John finally called me after I left this review and after a short time listening to his excuses he said he would send me the receipt for the work he performed so that I can finalize my claim with my insurance company and get reimbursed. Clearly he LIED to me so that I would stop calling him. The response he gave to my review below did not address any of the reasons of why he got a bad review from me, he just attacked me for unfortunate circumstances that I was in.John seemed to be professional at first but that act quickly changed. CHOP SHOP!!! When I was told the car was finished, I assumed it was fixed and drivable but it was not. He does not do exhaust work is what he told me, so I had to get it towed to a dealership where they had to re-do everything John said he already did. So not only did he charge me for work that wasnt performed but he couldnt finish it. Also, the air-ride suspension mysteriously stopped working while at his facility. Long story short, he charged me $930 for work that had to be re-done and fixed at a dealership which cost me over $6,300. And to top it all off, he would not provide me with a receipt for the work that he did. That tells me that he is afraid my insurance company or myself will find out that he lied to and scammed a customer (probably not the first time, definitely not the last). It is my opinion that John is not a good person and I dont want you to find out the same way I had to.

I dont remember doing this rating at all and im not aware of ever doing business with you....maybe it was meant so whatever it is that you do i pray that its a blessing to not only yourself but others as well.

Took my Kia for a wheel bearing replacement. Was a hassle to get off but John came thru. A little longer than I expected but the staff is awesome so waiting wasnt a issue. Shout out to Nick, Shelly and staff for your great work.

Out brakes went out in lake city fl and we were miles from home on a Sunday. Powers auto open thier doors to us and fixed both break line on our suburban and replaced a fuse. They were very fair with the price(knowing we were out of town and had no where else to get the truck fixed!). Very friendly and even offer to feed the kids lunch. If you break down in Lake city FL I highly recommend powers. Awsome people!!!!!!

Best mechanic and fastest mechanic I ever seen!!!

Our car was misfiring as we were traveling through late Saturday afternoon and Powers Automotive was open and happy to help us out. We received excellent service from John on what should have been an easy fix but the car didnt want to play nice. He was patient and kind and was more than happy to explain everything that was going on to someone like me who isnt a car expert. Also props to Luna for being a super chill dog!

Alternator belt failed on the freeway. John (the owner) was kind enough to take us in after business hours on a Sunday, and spent quite a bit of time in the rain getting our Alternator belt fixed, putting us and our two cats back on the road to Michigan!Highly Recommend!

John did a really good job fixing my car. My car stopped working when I was in my way traveling away from Dorian hurricane. The only open shop was Power automative and I couldn’t have asked for better service or better mechanic to fix my car. He fixed my car in a few hours which was crucial in my situation and even gave me a very fair price despite knowing that the sensitivity of my situation would have made me pay whatever he asks for. He helped me identify the problem that was caused by the previous mechanic who fixed my brakes and even told me he would help me communicate with him later. I haven’t had a problem with my brakes since he fixed them. Thank you for your honest and great work, John.

The proprietor goes out of his way to be the best mechanic in Lake City. He diagnosed my vehicles issue, explained both the problem and how he can fix it to me in a way that I could understand, and gave me a perfectly fair price for what had to be worked on and the labor required. My only issue was waiting while they made room for my vehicle to be worked on, but that is perfectly reasonable for a busy, honest, and successful auto shop.

Rambo Powers responded to our Google text the Sunday after Thanksgiving when we broke down on the way to Atlanta. He recommended a towing service and fixed our car within two hours at a reasonable price.

My 2012 Chevy Cruise had a idling issue. So i took it to John and in less than a day he had my car up and running again like new. He also did a oil change that was way over due and the best part is that John is a straight shooter and it didnt cost me a arm and a leg to get it fix. Con artist. On my way to a cruise terminal and my car broke down. Had it towed to his garage. He said the engine was gone but for me to go on my cruise and he could have it replaced in the 7 days I was gone. He would get it from a junk yard but it should be good for another 100,000 miles. When I returned, he charged me the $3000.00 but marked the invoice no warranty, no return. I made it 250 miles before it broke down again. He would not come and get my car and after having it towed in to another shop, it was proven that the engine was never replaced. Im in the process of a lawsuit, I just want to warn everyone DO NOT USE THIS MECHANIC!!!

Came up here today to get a bult changed off my tire and they got the job done!! Something tire kingdom couldn’t even do!!! They will not give up until it’s done and they also work with you and let you know every detail of what takes place before they do anything!! HIGHLY recommend!!

Broke down around 6pm and he was the only one open. The prices were excellent and he stayed working till around 10pm because he knew that we needed to get back on the road. If youre in lake city and need auto repairs this is the place to go!

My wife and I were in town looking at a van to buy on a Friday afternoon. I called John hoping theyd be able to give it a once-over and their opinion of how it runs, and he told me I could bring it by ASAP, no charge. He looked it over and found that something in the A/C was shorting out and blowing fuses, and also warned me that the timing belt looked like it hadnt been changed (on a 127k-mile vehicle).I told this to the owner and passed on the van. Turns out, they took it to their own mechanic, who confirmed both of these issues and recommended a timing-belt replacement ASAP and that the AC unit had a bad relay.I dont live in Lake City, but if I did, you better believe Id take my cars to Powers!

These guys are amazing! The tire rod broke on my Moms truck while i was backing out from a store. These guys came down to the store where I broke down, assessed the damage, called their tow service and took the vehicle to their shop. They assured me it could be fixed quickly and they did just that. Not only did they repair the vehicle, they checked all the fluids and rotated the tires. The staff was very nice and answered any questions without eye rolling because I am a woman! They are very professional and concerned about their customers. They do everything and it wont cost an arm and a leg!

My experience is I helped him when nobody else would when he got evicted from his last shop - and didnt even know him... and now cant even get him to reply or respond to any of my calls or messages when Ive needed work done. Even offered to pay him more than he said hed charge me if I ever needed any mechanic work. Now I understand why nobody else would offer him help - hes the most ungrateful and unappreciative person Ive ever met - and as far as I know hes not even licensed or insured.

We wandered the property for about 20 minutes before he even noticed we were there. And, even then, he made no effort to approach us and see who we were. I had to walk into the back of your shop (where he was working) and explain to him that we had an appointment 15 minutes ago. He then said that you were not in yet, and that we had to wait an hour or more even though we got there first thing that morning.

Stopped here in the middle of a road trip because my engine was misfiring. The guys were super knowledgeable, diagnosed and fixed the problem right away, and I was back on the road 30 minutes later. Highly recommend this shop!
