My friends and I were on a cross country road trip when we had suspension issues on my Subaru.Everyone at Mavis went above and beyond to help us get on the road as fast as we could. Can’t recommend these guys enough!

We bought our tires from their when it was still in the transition from Ken Conner to Tire Engineers. Since bringing my subaru there to get tires rotated I decided to go ahead and let them do engine service. This was fine until the last two visits when service was very poor. The time before last my husband brought my car in right when open on a Saturday and waited for 2 hours. They kept telling him it would be ready soon. Then he found out after an hour they had just gotten the oil and filter from a parts store to do the work. I decided to try again. At the end of March I took my car for tire rotation, oil change and spark plug change. I called to make an appointment and inquired if they could even do the spark plug change. I was called back later on a Monday and told yes they can gave me an estimate of an hour not too much more and an approximate price for the plugs. I showed up on Friday at my appointment time and had nothing showing I had an appointment. I asked them to forget about it if they dont have parts and cant do it. I was assured that they get the parts from a place around the corner and the parts were available wouldnt be a problem. I was going to lunch with a friend and was asked for my number in case it was ready before I came back, they understood lunch was roughly an hour. When I came back after 1:30PM the car was not done. I was told how difficult it was to get to my plugs and that it was taking the mechanic almost an hour to just get to one of them. I was very upset that I was not called to ask before they did this if it was OK. I waited until almost 3PM for them to be done. The Manager was not happy that someone told me over the phone a time est. and was also not happy that I told them I was not going to pay for over 3 hours of service work when I didnt agree to that. They charged me an hour for the time. Almost a month later I am putting washer fluid in my engine area and noticed what was riding with me since the end of march. All of my old spark plugs and the pliers they used were left under my hood. I am very lucky none of this made it into my belts or moving engine parts to cause damage. Also in my bottom catch basin pan we found another set of pliers that were left. After all of this I am surely not comfortable having any more work done. Several clips are also broken or now missing in my engine. I wish people would do better service and take pride in their work.

Mavis is great. Everyone is super helpful. I was just passing through the town and they were able to get replace my tire for me without any trouble. They even stayed past closing time to help me. I really appreciated the help and the service! Thanks guys!

I went to L.C with a friend of mine for a trip and we got a flat tire. I wanna reach out because they provided us with great service and that’s the way I remember it. I have previous experience with them from my time in Florida and this place was no different. They were quick, friendly, and even gave recommendations on places to eat while in town!

While passing though Lake Charles, I came into Mavis Tire to get a nail removed from my tire. I was greeted warmly by the staff and the gentleman came with me outside to inspect the location of my nail. He assured me that it was repairable. He could not have been anymore helpful and educational as he explained in great detail what happens when you roll your car on a low tire. I will certainly recommend Mavis Tire to my local friends and family and I commend their manager for personally taking the time to assist me today. Great Job Mavis Tire!

Upon arriving to this location. The gentlemen here were very friendly and concerned with my needs. They immediately got on the job. I came in wanting a new tire. But they suggested a repair first. They could’ve easily taken my money. I truly appreciate their efforts. Definitely coming back in the future!

I went in for a tire patch and ended up with scratches and a gouge on my rim.The manager said he would have it fixed but the gouge and scraches are still in the rim. The manager then insisted that it was there before I had them work on it.The rims are factory stock 2016 chevy and new. The only people to work on the tire was this facility.After getting in contact with the options manager I was taken complete care off. I couldnt be happier.

What a great group! This morning while I was dropping my daughter off to school I got a flat tire. When we got the spare on, low and behold it was low on air. So I went to Mavis. Short on time, wallet and phone at home, baby ready for nap. Needless to say I had already had a crazy morning. These guys went straight to work! They put air in my spare, patched my tire and had me on my way in 30 minutes! They really went above and beyond to help turn my day around and get me and the kids back on the road safely and quickly with no questions asked! This isn’t service you can find anywhere anymore! We’ve been using this company for years- never had an issue and recommended it to everyone. Since they’ve been under new management they’ve been screwing people over. We have a 2013 sonic Chevy . They said they knew the car and could handle the issue easy.First it was the antifreeze. Then it was sometthing else. And something else.All we wanted to know was why was the car jumping and smoking. They said the engine is just fine though. Dished out almost $1,500 for 4 trips there with absolutely no change in the cars performance. then on the last trip they said someone put the wrong spark plugs in our car- which we don’t know how since no spark plug work had ever been done since we bought the car from the dealership. They said for sure it was the issue, then we got the car back and on the ride home we saw our car smoking and STILL NO CHANGE IN PERFORMANCE!Never going back- they made no difference in our cars performance. Might as well have stole all our money.

I went to Mavis Discount Tire for an oil change and for them to check out my mirror (which I managed to knock off while backing into my garage 😅). The team, and in particular Kai, went above and beyond to assist me with my mirror problem, find a temporary fix, and help me find a discounted replacement part online. I started going there exclusively for my tire needs because this business is such a great supporter of Barbe High School athletic teams. I keep going there because the service is so impressive. Youd swear youre living in a town of 500 people when you go there. Always friendly, fast, and first class service.

I went today because something was squeaking under the hood. I thought it was a pulley and was expecting to spend $300-$400. Everyone that works there is very friendly and welcoming. I have been to other shops that are fake nice, but this place is different. It was genuine great people there. It turned out to be just an old belt. I was so happy I went ahead and got the brake flush as well. I will be back again, and recommend this if youre looking for a good local shop! Thanks guys!

I was in and out with brand new tires in about 40 minutes. Joe and the rest of the staff were on their game and treated every customer that walked in with great professionalism. Highly recommend anyone to give them a try.

I used to work in the tire and lube field doing oil changes and tires I moved on to a different career so I know how a shop is supposed to run and was the worst Ive seen anyway I brought my truck here here to get an alignment done and I needed my tires rotated and balanced was here for 4 hours and they still didnt even properly rotate my tires after I specifically asked them to rotate them a certain way I will never return nore will I ever recommend anyone waist their time there knowledge and organization is lacking among so many other things and they wouldnt even fix the issue. With the tools they have it could be fixed in 5 minutes now I gotta go home and spend 30-50 minutes to fix their mistakes whats the use in paying for a service of you dont receive it?!

The service here is top notch. We buy our tires here, brake jobs and oil changes. Today, we just needed to check the air in our tires. It was aired up quickly with no service charge. Doug and Marvin treat you like family. I recommend Tire Engineers to everyone that I can.

The staff and the mechanics did a really good job of getting my truck into the repair area and finding out what was wrong with it. I didnt know that a hub bearing could cause so much trouble. I got an estimate from Darren and shopped around and found that not only was it cheaper than anyone else but the warranty was even better!! Honest and dependable!!!

It is a lot better in the past. Recently something changes and they are now checking out your car to try to sell you services that are not needed or one you didnt come in for. They wanted to change my air filter that was just changed 1 month prior.Good tires and tire serve at retail prices

UPDATE:Marvin has left Tire Engineers. He is now with Marks Master Mechanics on Hwy 14. Needless to say that’s where I’ll be bringing my business from now on.Ive been using Ken Conners, now Tire Engineers, since I moved here 10 years ago. They have always provided great service and great prices. However, since the new ownership, I feel that the quality of craftsmanship is somewhat lacking from what it used to be. Fortunately, Marvin is still there, and thats why I continue to use them. If Marvin ever leaves there, Ill likely take my business elsewhere.

They did a great job. However, what was quoted and what they charged towards the end was a bit more. They would have a stellar review except when we mentioned the original price. The paperwork had magically disappeared. They did ring us up on the original price after all. The prices are competitive.

A tire shop that actually cares about their customers and do a great job along with it. Have been coming over here for over a year and have no complaints. They back up their work and make sure youre satisfied. Have worked with both Devon and Marvin. Highly recommended.

First off, I called in advance to get a price on an alignment with my vehicle, then when I got there, they priced it $20 more than what I was told on the phone. After waiting over an hour, they finally get to my car and won’t do the alignment anymore, when they said they could by switching my tires for me. All that sitting there for nothing along with trying to jack up the price on me. After saying they couldn’t find my key for the lug nuts, they said they were going to check the front end. They never did. And the key for the wheels was in the glove box in the open when I checked. I will never recommend anyone to them, that’s for sure. Ended up being there for 2 hours for nothing.

Darren and staff are great. I ordered a set of tires, not going to say what brand they were, but for some reason they werent working out on my vehicle, so I told Darren, he immediately order me a new set different brand. I went in on a Saturday around 3:30 to get them installed, I was running late, for the traffic, at the same time they had four new customers come in.They told me it would be cutting it close getting them put on before closingApparently they rounded up the troops, and decided to make every effort to finish all the customers cars that had came in. Darren told me it didnt matter how it was, they were finishing all the cars. In an economy as well off as we have it here in Lake Charles, sometimes a business can turn customers down or put them off a day. This tire store is open 6 days a week and Im sure its nice to get off at closing time, when they say theyre going to close, they have family too. Darren and the guys stayed open until almost 7.... thats customer service.

Coming from Alabama we have a family owned business doing the same thing this business does, i am in Louisiana working and needed my tires rotated and balanced on my F250. Had a slight shake when i took the truck to them and when i left it was shaking 5x worse . I watched the worker drop tools in my rims (scratched them), he backed my truck out of the bay and caught my mirror on the lift post. And forgot to mention these idiots had my truck for 4 hours on a rotate and balance. Horrible service, guys were standing around like they did not even want to work. This place reminded me why i do this myself and never want to take it to other people to have work done. The prices were cheap though, i guess you get what you pay for.

I had a brake issue and I brought my car into Tire Engineers in Lake Charles, La. I had been hearing a squealing noise for a few days and wasn’t quiet sure what was wrong. Keri greeted me and took my information and helped me to determine what might be the issue. It wasn’t long before Darren brought me into the work are and showed me that the warning indicator that was on the front brake pads was touching the rotors and they were what was making the squealing noise that I’d been hearing.I was impressed with Keri and with Darren, as well as Darnell the mechanic in how they made sure to identify my problem and shiwed me what needed to be done!I’m a customer for life!!

Absolutely horrible customer service, from the MANAGER!!! Will not honor their quote by phone. They were extremely unprofessional. I will not be back, nor reccomend anyone else go there. Manager was sarcastic to me and dismissive. He was angry about his Call Center quoting me.

When Mavis quoted a better quality tire for less than I had priced a lesser quality tire, I knew I had found my preferred tire dealer.

I came to get a nail out of my tire and get it patched. Crew was very friendly and welcoming and the service was great. Cost was good and they were very fast. I expected to stay at least an hour because there were ALOT of people there but it took them no time at all!

Waited two and a half hours to get nail in my tire to be repaired. Was told it would be half an hour. Not pleased about the situation. If the guy would have just told me they were short staffed and it would take some time I would have called for a ride and gone and taken care of my other business. I think Ill go elsewhere in the future. Good luck with that kind of monkey business.

Really like the customer service reps. Wasnt too happy with the work on my tires this time. Tires werent balanced properly and I ended up with a couple dings on my wheel. Also didnt replace my chrome valve stem caps with chrome but a silver plastic. Had to go back for the balance and they took care of me. Never had any issues before and I wont let this one instance sully their past performance for me.

My husband and I looked at a few shops for a specific tire. And not only did they have the tire but, the best prices on it. Great service.

IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR VEHICLE STAY AWAY!!!!I took my brand new 2019 Ram in for a oil change and tire rotation I trusted this company because theyve taken care of me before. Anyway I paid for the service I get home and look at the paperwork and realized that it had none of my vehicles information. I called they told me that it was fine and the correct levels of oil were put in my truck. The manager told me to go check the levels and call him back(I shouldnt have to do that) . So I check my levels and noticed they were off and my oil cap was missing. I called back they sent tech to my house to put the correct levels and replace cap. Later that day I get on road and noticed a knocking noise coming from under my vehicle so now I have to wait until Monday to get this taken care of. This company could care less about their customers . Stay away from this place they are crooks and its sad I used to trust this place.

My family and I have been bringing our vehicles here for years... I can’t say enough about the service! They are wonderful and honest, and so easy to work with.

My husband came to this UNPERFESSIONAL place to get an oil change. They ran his battery dead, and left his lights on the whole time. Parked his truck Innopropriatly. They did not care about any problems they made. Were on our way to an appointment two hours out of our way, and we are over a quart low on oil, our truck smells like straight up oil, as of they spilled it. We called for a refund and the manager was very rude and laughed like it was a joke over the phone. This place is by far the most ignorant and UNPERFESSIONAL place weve ever gone to. WARNING: DO NOT COME HERE FOR ANY PROBLEM WITH YOUR VEHICLE.

Very risky business when you put your vehicle in these guys hands. You never get the service you originally take your vehicle there for without a long wait...sometimes days turn into weeks. They do not notify you in a timely manner if something is going to prevent them from completing your service. Ive spent too much money in last minute rentals because they do NOT communicate well. Service is HORRIBLE!! 😡😡😡😡
