TROY was a life saver! My mom and I were about to head back to Monroe and noticed our tire had a large object in it so we pulled into Pep Boys. I asked Troy what he would do if we were his wife and daughter and he gave us our options. We opted to have the spare tire put on. We have a land cruiser and if you know anything about Land Cruiser’s the spare tires are extremely hard to get to! He put the spare on for us drove the car around and told us not to worry about payment that I asked what he would do if we were his wife and daughter and that’s what he would do! What an amazing man! Special shout out to Mr. Troy . It’s was great service from the moment I walked in the door. I had 4 tires replaced and installed, a tire alignment, and a tire rod replacement. Service was great. I dropped my car off for an alignment late Friday afternoon & it was ready in under an hour. Staff was knowledgeable & helpful. I will definitely be back to do business & get my vehicles serviced in the future.

I made an appointment to be the first in line in the morning for 4 new tires. I waited an hour when they decided to bait me of other things that should be replaced. I only responded with I just want the 4 new tires on the vehicle (you can guess how much I was boiling by then). I waited another hour before they were finished (with all of the trash papers left in my vehicle). This place is a joke and I shouldve known better than to go to a place like this.Owner - no need to respond with Please allow us to review your experience by sending us your contact info.... By looking at the past reviews of other people, looks like you just copy and paste the same response for all of the negative reviews posted and nothing is done about it.

I can’t rate their service because when I walked in the guy at the counter didn’t even look at me, when I said I had an appointment to have my tires balanced. He just kept staring at his computer screen (which is fine because maybe he was in the middle of something, I get that) but then he raises his eyebrows, rolls his eyes (still never looking in my direction) and condescendingly says “The name...” I walked out. I’m not ruining my Saturday sitting in this Pep Boys with people that don’t like their job and judging from other reviews their services they provide suck as well so I’m sure I did myself a favor. There are too many good tire shops in Lafayette to be dealing with attitude on a Saturday.

I used to work for pep boys they dont care about your time, safety or vehicle. All they care about is taking you money. Some stores have the techs leave bolts loose or not seal gaskets all the way or just dont fix the car at all. I actually take pride in my work. Im a master mechanic and I always dibble check and depending on the job triple check and personally deal with the customer when they come to pick up the car and explain what I did to the car and other issues I noticed cause unlike some mechanics, I take pride in my work and place safety first. Money is not what makes loyal customers

Stay away! Trust me they do not want your business so just stay away! Sometimes the problem with these big corporate places is that they really don’t want your business especially when you call for two days and they tell you that they don’t have time to do an oil change when 3hours left until close.
I called to schedule an appointment for service and the guy who answered the phone was rude and could care less about appointment times, needless to say i took my car elsewhere and had a great friendly experience.

This place is horrible. My husband went here to fix his power steering pump gasket and window. They ended up breaking the new power steering pump that my husband just brought then wanted to charge him 800 dollars to fix their mistake. No remorse no nothing. These plp are some real crooks!!!!!!
Very polite staff but when I got here they were unable to honor our appointment. I understand that sometimes unexpected things happen, but they have my number on file. They could have at least called before I drove all the way here.
I made a reservation for tire services at the Pep Boys on Johnston and when I arrived I was confused on where I should go. I called the store to ask and the person who answered gave me the BIGGEST attitude. No reason to have an attitude at 8am. So I left and went to Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers. They got it done fast, at a reasonable price, and with a smile. :)

Brought my vehicle in to get looked at and they told me i needed a whole new alternator when i just had one put in 2 days prior. They didn’t even look at my vehicle because all i needed was a new belt not an alternator. Tried charging me $800 when i needed a $20 belt.
I been coming here for 10 years and Pep Boys have not let me down yet. It feels good to be a loyal customer. Plus at one they used to mail me coupons. I wonder what happened.

My daughter’s car needed a new battery. The staff was so kind. They did not have the battery in stock. Brandon located one and went and picked it up. In no time we were fixed up and ready to go. All of the employees were extremely nice and accommodating. Brandon was marvelous and very knowledgeable. Excellent experience.
If I could give zero stars I would. Scheduled appointment for 430 through website for an oil change. Coordinated baby with wife, drive across town and told it would be 2-2.5 hours before they could get to my car because they were a little “backed up.” What is the point of even taking reservations the?! Totally disappointed. Will never return. Lost business for my families 3 vehicles.

Waited 10 minutes before someone was able to help me at the back counter. Eventually moved to the front of the store for a purchase where I was again passed by two employees and after another 10 minute wait I just left. Will not return.
Had oil changed a couple weeks ago and everything seemed fine. Yesterday I noticed oil spots under my car. My brother and I got underneath and found the drain plug loose. Not even hand tight. That couldve blown my engine. Not going back.
My man Brandon in the speed shop is something amazing. This guy’s motivation is amazing! He is always there for his customers. Even when he was on vacation, he still helped me out and has helped me out on his days off as well. I always come to Brandon to keep my customers happy and keep my business in line with the right parts. I asked Brandon one day why he was at pep boys when he wasn’t on the clock and he replied “this isn’t just a job it’s a lifestyle. This is family.” I’ve never dealt with someone that cared so much about customers rather than making money! I’ve noticed that he goes out of his way to make sure every customer is satisfied with what they need/want. For someone so young, Brandon is definitely ahead of the game with his skills and knowledge of automobiles.
Bought the most expensive tuner from them and was told it was compatible with my truck and upon finding out it was not compatible I was told I had 30 days to bring it back. Well fast forward and I go to bring it back after never even been taken out of the box they wont take it back. So I will never use this place again and I will be calling corporate to file a complaint.

My boyfriends tire had a nail in his tire so we went to the nearest shop which happened to be Pep Boys. Within 5 minutes one of the service techs got his car in to look at it. Another 5 mins and he told us that it hadnt pierced through the tire and brought it back out with no charge! Super awesome service and very fast and helpful. Thanks so much and we will definitely come back for anything else we need!
I had a great experience working with the service desk here. Needed A/C work done and they were very honest with me. Remember though, if you have no mechanical experience then you dont know the questions to ask to get the best deals / discounts. I appreciate these guys and now i can take my trip through the desert with ice cold A/C!

Let me just start by saying this is the best customer service I’ve gotten from any auto parts store. More specifically, the young speed shop manager Brandon was the biggest help. I don’t usually come to pep boys so I was a bit lost. He was quick to help me find what I needed and surprised me with his knowledge and caring attitude. He is well above most young men his age. He treated me like family rather than a customer he was trying to sell to. I will definitely be coming to pep boys for more of their service because other auto parts stores can’t compare to this one. I had a great experience at this location. I was driving through Lafayette in desperate need of a tire repair. I stopped in within 2 hours of closing. The staff was professional and courteous. They were able to get my tire plugged up in no time. If Im ever in need of tire service in Lafayette area, I would stop here - without a doubt.

Had scheduling snafu yesterday, rescheduled for 9 AM this morning, on time, first to counter, someone else waited on before me. Waited 15 minutes and dont see the first persons problem being resolved anytime soon. Not the first bay door open, no activity in service pit and three people behind me. Price isnt everything and if service sucks, price is a moot point because regardless, my time is worth something too!
Liars..liars..terrible service..I called the day before and they said they had 4 tires..$504 plus tax..I told him to save them I would be there when they open the next morning at 9am. I was out of state, we would be the first appointment then leave for home (6hrs) after. We was the first appointment..the service manager quoted us $700. I told him what we was quoted and showed him where I wrote it down. He took road hazzard off and they were still $10 more. A hour and 5minutes later he tells us he only has 3 tires and if we wanted to wait til 1 he would get one from Baton Rouge..we told him to just put two tires..then we waited another hour ..adding up to a total 2 1/2 hours..now we have two tires that cost almost as much as 4..they dont match any other tires so we have to order the other two from pep boys for them to match, so my tires will end up costing close to $700 by the time I get the other two.. Never again!!!!. The service manager gave us 10%discount..that dont change the fact that I was offered 4 for the price of 3!!. The man I talked to to schedule my appointment should of went and pulled my tires, had them upfront when I got there the next morning.. making sure they had 4. Poor customer service..slow..

Had an appointment for 530 which was scheduled online yesterday but it wasnt checked in the system. 2 hours later still waiting on an oil change. They apparently let their staff go to lunch at 530 leaving only one worker. The service is terrible and I will never return. This is the second time this happens. There will not be a third.
Scheduled an appointment for an oil change through CarAdvise because I’m an uber driver, but was very disappointed. Upon arriving, I confirmed that I wanted synthetic oil (as stated on my appointment request) and waited 30 minutes before my car was even taken into a service bay. Two hours later, I received my car with the wrong oil and a more than $30 overcharge & a tire rotation (which according to my multi-point inspection, wasn’t needed as my tread was even on all four tires). At no point was I updated on how long this should take, but the store advertises “express” oil changes. I tried contacting the pep boys customer service via email, but over a month later and no one from store level to district management seems to care about poor customer service.
Its December 29th, 2018, I sit here an hour and a half since my appointment for a simple oil change. The manager told us just as soon as he has an open bay, he would change my oil. Well, there have been at least 5 empty bays for the last hour. I asked him about it, he rudely said #Excuse Me, then went on to say his guy is at lunch, 3:30 in the afternoon. Employees walking around joking and laughing while manager playing on his phone.No, not sending my contact info to discuss further, dont trust anyone in that building. Wont be coming back, that is if I ever get my oil change.After a little over 2 hours, they finally got around to changing my oil, then proceeded to charge me double the price I booked for online. By this time I wasnt gonna ask why, I just wanted to get out of there. Hopefully they actually changed the oil, nothing would surprise me about that place.

I went to Pep Boys only because it was the only place open on a Sunday & I needed a tire as soon as possible. I knew their prices were high so I dont normally ever go there at all. Well we get there & wait in line for 20 minutes because the customer in front of us & the cashier were having a conversation. When it was finally our turn, we were told it would be 30-40 minutes because guys were available right now. We told them we would be at Best Buy while we waited. We go back an hour & a half later & it still wasnt ready. My car was finally ready 2 and a half hours later & I am LIVID. I didnt have an entire day to waste waiting for this. Dont tell me itll be 30 minutes when itll be 2 and a half hours. I will never return to Pep Boys again.

The problem was that I couldnt get serviced at the appointment time scheduled due to 1 mechanic already doing a 5-8 hr job. I was allowed to set an appointment, but no one called me to inform me that they couldnt keep the appointment. Then, I stay to wait about an hour for someone else to do an evaluation, but my car was just waiting. The communication between the store and online is not there. The store clerk was not a great help. He just spoke to me as of I have to just accept it for what it is.
I’m trying to figure out why no one is answering the phone. I’ve called multiple time no answer.
They told me I needed a new air compressor (it was changed a year ago through Honda) they said it needed to be replaced and that is what the noise was coming from. Went back Dallas and the Noise did not stop. Came home for another visit and brought it to them to repair due to summer heat coming to Texas. Went back to Dallas noise never stopped. Can back home brought it to the Honda dealership and it’s the fan motors are out and going out. Called pep-boys to let them know and they said, it was all kinds of things going on with my car. I have the original report and there was nothing wrong with it besides the air compressor. I will not be back. I won’t even purchase parts if I need to. If you need service keep a second opinion. I don’t want anyone to go through this. Being a single female I think they took me as dumb and not knowing anything and I should of brought it to Honda to start with. Pep boys Lafayette thanks for taking my money and running with it!! Good job!
I have been here all day waiting for someone to help me with new tires. It’s literally been one whole hour with no help, From the tire guys. Because there not here at work. A guy from the other side of the store offered to buy us food and drinks, and apologize for the lack of employees and was calling their boss to see where everyone was at. I will never ever ever come back over here. This makes no sense whatsoever. I am completely shocked at this.
When to pep boys to get help with my classic vehicle. Met a young guy by the name of Brandon, and I was skeptical because of his age..... but I was totally wrong! This guy with the biggest help, he showed me the right part, then went outside with me to help install it when I was in need. He gave me his number to call whenever I need help. This showed me what great customer service is, and how not to judge a book by its cover. I am now a customer for life.
Unfortunately, I cannot rate below one star. Dropped my car off at 12:30 for an oil change and tire patch repair. I called ahead to make sure this location had what was needed for the oil change, I was assured they had the correct oil filter. I checked back at about 2:00 car wasnt ready because the technician couldnt find the correct tools to change the oil filter. No problem, I went next door kill some time, my car was finally ready at 3:45. Of course I wasnt pleased with the service time, I wasnt charged for the oil change or tire patch. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO PEPBOYS.
We all have our priorities about what we expect from a auto repair place. I am old guy and I have a lot of experience with repair places. All repair places take longer than you would like.. they are no exception, but Pepboys, in Lafayette exceeds my expectations (been going there for 3 years) and can hold their own with any car repair place, but even better than that they have reasonable prices and knowledgeable, friendly service people. They dont have a fancy lobby like a car dealer, but you will pay half the price...I dont need a fancy lobby. Carlos the manager is very much engaged with his employees and customers, making sure they are well taken care of. He always makes me feel special when I go there.
Store hours say they close at 9PM we arrived at 645 and the doors were locked? You should update your hours or post a closed sign so people dont drive have way across town for nothing.
My review stems off of calling and asking how long they stay open for repairs and them telling me till 9pm. So i drive all the way over there to find out the techs go home at 5pm and then he proceeds to tell me I should call and ask before i come. Definitely not recommend this place if you are looking for nice people.
Worse service ever! I brought my car in at 1pm and went back to get it at 5pm and it still wasn’t ready. I brought it back the next morning 15mins after they open and it took 3 hours just to get 4 new tires put on. They weren’t even properly balanced. So I had to send $65 at another shop bc I sure wasn’t bringing it back there. So y’all save your time and many and go else where.
Jimmy was awesome, as always. The guy from the previous shift, however, was not very friendly & didnt communicate with me about what was going on with my car.
They werent able to put a simple patch and plug in my tire, however, they did refer me to somewhere I could have it done.
I walked in with a messed up car not knowing what I needed and I walked in and I was greeted with a warming smile from Annie Domingue and a nice greeting, I then up to the speed shop and the guy working there, I think his name was Brandon Senegal, was the nicest guy I’ve ever met in a car auto shop, he’s awesome and treated me like he knew me for years, when I needed to check out I was met again by Annie, they really made my rough car experience super easy and smooth 10/10 am going to them anytime I have car problems!
I went in for an oil change. Brian went above and beyond to provide excellent service, exceeding my expectations. The guys noticed my tire had a leak, and provide service to my tire while they had my car for the oil change.

Terrible. Requested an engine check out, they hooked up the computer (free at auto zone), called me shortly after I left the driveway, charged over $100 for check out. Becuase I agreed to it (assumed it would be more extensive) I had no recourse. Will never visit again.
BEWARE THIS PLACE IS A REEP OFFJust because Im a woman dont mean you can get over me. I purchased a battery in July 2016 that went bad in 11/2017 with a 2 year free replacement warranty they wanted to charge me for a new battery then told them it was under warranty and they are trying the same thing again. The battery from 11/2017 is bad also with a 30 month warranty replacement and they want to charge $120.00 for this one called customer service and they called store told store I had 6 months left on warranty and to replace the battery. The store claims that they didnt talk to customer service and want to charge me $50.00 now. Got customer service on phone again and Joe the supposed manager is saying that not how it works, customer service had to get customer relations involved to get Joe to understand what the warranty police is and to replace my battery. That so call manager name Joe is acting like he owns the place. So Joe called his district manager Lynn and gave him misinformation and the district manager is siding with Joe and wants to offer me a a 20percent discount to purchase another battery. Sorry Lynn and Joe thats not how it works. Beware of the shady tackic this place tries to get you to pay extra money. Will be filing a complaint with the insurance commissioner and the better business on this place.

BEWARE!!! I wish I could give a negative start review, but thats not possible in this system so a 1-star it is! This Pep Boys took advantage of my 75 year old mother who brought her vehicle in to have the wiper motor replaced. I would have easily done it myself, but I live in Arizona. Just to give you a little information regarding my qualifications, I am a former Franchise Manager and Site Developer of SpeeDee Oil Change and Tune-up back in the early 1990s in Massachusetts. I was also an ASE Certified Master Mechanic. So not only do I know how to fix vehicles but am also trained in providing outstanding customer service. Here is how it went at this pep Boys... My mother had brought in her vehicle and asked to get the wiper motor replaced. The counter said it wasnt in stock and would take 3 days to get it. Joe, at the front counter, instructed my mother to go to Auto Zone and buy one and bring it in if she cant wait that long to get it fixed as it rains frequently there. So she did just that and delivered it to Pep Boys. She waited in the lobby until it was finished about 50 minutes later, which was nice because it was not only quick and easy to do, but also the shop must have not been busy. Originally she was told the repair will cost around $55 when she arrived at 12:20 pm as stated on the Service Ticket. At 1:10 pm, less than an hour later, the job was complete. The cashier then notified her that the charge is now $321.84! Not knowing what to do, she paid it and left. I told her to go back and speak with the manger, Carlos Turner about the excessive charges. She did that today and Carlos said, there is nothing we can do about it and the charges stand as is. How could less than an hours worth of work cost $322??? My mother didnt agree to paying additional charges until after she was hit with the bill, basically being held hostage. Since it rains frequently where she lives she had no other choice but to pay it. This place should be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of people in distress. I highly recommend that you take your vehicle elsewhere to a reputable and honest mechanic. Hopefully the owner of this business will see this post and other posts regarding Carlos poor customer service. I as well as others read Google reviews and let me tell you that this Pep Boys will lose a lot of potential business over this review and reviews from many other dissatisfied customers. If any of my employees treated a customer this way, I would have fired them on the spot. Its people like this that give mechanics a bad name and ruin it for the honest ones. Phone estimate of $20 to look at the vehicle, but when I got there it was $89.99 to look at it. Then I was told it would be 1 hour and it took 3. In the end, they still didnt find the problem.
Really terrible service by the manager Brian. I made an appointment to have my brakes inspected and was jerked around for 24 hours being told that my car was next in line to be looked at. They ended up keeping my car overnight and was told that it would be the first one in the morning. Essentially, I was lied to by Brian the entire time and they never even bothered to look at my car or update me with details. I was the one who had to call each time to find out what was going on and each time was told another lie.Save your money and your time! They didnt even end up looking at my car and I lost an entire day to this nonsense and ultimately got nothing done.

LITERALLY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE HELPFUL AND CONSIDERATE. PROBABLY THE BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AT A GARAGE.A friend and I were driving through Lafayette from out of town and had another 100 miles to go. We filled up at an Exxon at exit 100. By exit 95, my truck had broken down. Sounded like the fuel pump had gone out. I called Pep Boys in Lafayette because it was nearly 2:00 on a Friday afternoon. They stay open til 8:00, and I knew there was NO WAY a normal garage would be able to get us back on the road before closing at the nomal hour of 5:00.The tow truck got us there at 4:05. Within 10 minutes of completing the paperwork, their team was looking at my truck. Their Ford Certified Specialist, Randy, figured out within 5 minutes that it wasnt the fuel pump; it was bad gas from the Exxon station. Unfortunately, I had completely filled up, and they had no way to empty the entire tank. They added octane booster additives and began idling the truck to burn off the gas. Carlos, the manager, and Brian and Frank all gave us advice on how to drive the truck over the next several hours in order to burn off the bad gas as quickly as possible. They also suggested the best octane boosters and fuel system cleaners to use, and explained when and how to use them.Manager Carlos treated us like family. Understanding how stressful it was to be from out of town and passing through, he had the rest of the guys check out the trucks fluids and even threw in a pair of brand new windshield wipers at no cost. The guys there were GREAT!! They could have gotten us out of there as soon as they had the truck running, but they kept idling the truck to make sure it died as little as possible, having no way to completely stop it from dying with over 20 gallons of bad gas. They also gave us advice on how to deal with the gas station to get all the costs refunded.After two and a half hours, the diagnostic, octane boosters, labor, etc, the bill came to less than $120. If it hadnt been for them, I would have had to take the truck to a garage, would have had to cancel my hotel reservations at my destination with no refund, made new hotel reservations to stay in Lafayette, and take Monday off work, and would have missed all my weekend plans. CARLOS AND HIS TEAM NOT ONLY SAVED MY TRUCK; THEY SAVED MY WEEKEND!! Had a dead battery, it had a free 3 year replacent warranty. The helped us and the battery swap was very fast and easy. We also found out that the manager lives just a few blocks from us.

I went in a few days ago to buy some Cooper tires & Brandon Sinegal waited on me & did a super job & he showed me some mags that would go with my tires on my 59 El Camino that I am fixing up which I then purchased. Next we got on mufflers & he sold me a cool muffler for my truck!!! What a salesman & super person. I also met the service mgr. that I will let him check my wiring while my truck is in for the other work!!! Really found a home for my El Camino on repair & buying things for it thanks to ole Brandon!!!

As a Midwife, I am dependent on my vehicle to take me through dark stormy nights, cold blustery days, and steamy hot evenings to the homes of my many families as they await the arrival of their precious babies. Who do I call when my birth mobile is dysfunctional? PEP Boys of Lafayette. This past weekend was traumatic for my car, but Carlos and the guys made sure they had her up and running again, swiftly and efficiently! Special kudos to the mechanic doc who came in on his day off to give her love and attention while she lingered in auto ICU. As a clinician I give 1000% to my families, and comparably, I have found that when I needed them, PEP Boys has gone out of their way to provide me 1000% quality service, in the repair and maintenance of my car so that I can be safe on the road as I answer my many calls to birth. Thank you guys for your hard work and dedication, as you have never failed to provide me with reliable, trusted efficiency, quality parts and labor, timely attention and valued service on my SUV. They have pretty much anything in auto parts. If they dont have it theyll get it.
Came in after having a flat tire and no spare. Just needed a new tire put on my rim- they made us wait 2 hours for what should have taken 10min. Meanwhile, service manager is sitting behind the checkout counter on Instagram, chatting it up with other customers in the store, and my vehicle still sitting on the side of a busy road with a jack under it. Will not be returning.
1) I ordered a set of tires online with my credit card it was a fairly simple process.2) After arriving at the store you realize that online it didnt actually place an order just a temp hold of 1 dollar, they try to hook you with additional/unnecessary services.3) After waiting for two hours (after scheduled appt) they realize they only have two tires in stock.4) Installed two tires, promised they would install the remaining tires the following Tuesday when shipment arrives and will still be able to apply the 4 tire discount.5) Installation is not done until following Thursday, my wife waited nearly 7 hours (2PM to 8:40PM) until work was completed.6) Lesson learned: I will never buy anything from this store so long as I walk this earth.
Horrible. Will never returned. Used pep boys for years when I lived in Lafayette. Condescending employees with horrible service and will overcharge you. Charged me $180 for an alignment and never even did it. Sold me tires the wrong tires and then wouldn’t refund me. Broke one of my tire pressure sensors and tried to tell me that it just coincidentally “went bad” at the same time they changed tires. This Pep Boys will never get another dime of my business.
Poor service, had a front light replaced, took them 2 attempts, initial price was 136$, i refused since i had the other one replaced a year ago for 40$, then they re-estimate and the quote was 42$. I go ahead and go for it, and they go ahead and install what probably is an old light bulb which is very dim and barely shines any light at all, so I went back to the place and asked if thats a new bulb, they said they were gonna replace it, however the gave me 2 appointments only to go there and find out that the guy who does this is not available what a crack of horse ****...Anyways, I really dont recommend this place at all. And thats my experience.

They said they would call back with quote for service I needed. I had to call back hours later and got same the same line. Never received a call. Set up an appointment for a free A/C check and when I got there they claimed (even though their website clearly states what it checks) that the free one only checks if your compressor kicks on and Id have to pay all kind of money just to see the pressure readings. Will never spend a dime there again.
