A couple months a go I took my hummer here to have some rust repaired under my doors and rear panels. They charged me a little over $800 which I thought was an amazing price but they did a pretty bad job imo. A job i couldve done myself for a lot cheaper. They just covered the rust with paint and didnt even cover all of it. Not only did they not cover all of the rust but they ran the paint so now I have dried paint drip going down my truck but I do owe them a thank you cause now when I take my hummer to have the whole truck repainted I know where not to take it and for that i think you Lafayette Maaco.

My experience with Maaco started when I was getting quotes for getting my 08 VW Rabbit repaired from two different accidents. After being told to basically bug off by several other body work shops in Lafayette for being a cash customer, Jason from Maaco helped me find the other body shops that would work with me.As you can tell by me writing this review, I ended up at Maaco for a new front bumper, wheel well liner, and hood.Initially when I got the car back there was some blotching on the hood going on in specific light, I called in, and they got me squared away.My only complaint is that my fender damage kept the bumper from lining up perfectly with the new bumper 😂Key takeaways:•Jason/Jackie are great to work with, the rest of the crew is very easy to work with.•Pricing was the best I could find as a cash customer•Im happy with the end result.

First thing that was odd and unprofessional to me was the cat that lives there in the office? I dont hate cats but Im definitely not a cat person. It was literally in the waiting room running back and fourth jumping on everything, scratching the couch, and it was extremely uncomfortable, I couldnt have sat down even if I wanted too. Second thing that was unprofessional to me was the fact that my car had been done for over three days before I called and checked. I was told that the man that gave me the estimate had wrote down the wrong phone number, and that they were sorry but the car was finished and that I could go pick it up immediately. The third and the final thing is what gets me the most, when I pulled up the car wasnt even finished! I asked them to repair the chrome trimming around the front drivers sides tire, and on the door of the drivers side, but when I arrived it still was not completed, only the paint job was. I told the same man that gave me the estimate and he said they would have it done in 10 minutes. I waited for just a little under an hour for the same man to come out and tell me that he specifically put too much glue on the chrome strip on the door and it dripped down the side of it and ate the paint off the door. He took full responsibility and I really do appreciate that but Im anxious to see how it plays out pertaining to the cost and time. I hope that they try to somehow justify the situation, and I will do a follow up review after I get my car back. It is a 94 Jaguar Vanden Plas.

I had a broken frame part, I was stranded without a car. I stopped and asked if they could weld it up. They did not finish the job as promised, and Im still walking. I will not do any more business with them, they do not keep their word...I had to improvemy rating, after looking at the quality. They get 5 for quality, but 1 for on time. I can live with that. any time.

Good place to get something painted cheap

Just had a car my wife has a long history with worked on at this shop. To see the level of work put into this car has been amazing. And the staff understood how much this project meant to us!!! Thanks to each and everyone of you guys that worked on this car!!!!!!!

You hear Maaco stories all the time. Some amazing, some horrible, and some in the middle.This car was brought to Maaco with 90% of the prep work done. The car had been wet sanded, disassembled, major body work done and only a few rock chips needed filled. Maacos end was to tape off the car, and spray it.The staff at Maaco is incredibly kind. I think that needs to be mentioned. They kept me in the loop, were prompt with their time estimates, and I was overall treated very well.The paint on the other hand is lacking. Again, this depends on what your expectations are for $1200 - $1300. I would estimate that about $300 should have been supplies. So the rest should have gone into labor and shop overhead.While the paint job is a good 5 foot job, under close inspection the issues start to show up. The orange peel is TERRIBLE on this job. Check the photos. Also, there are moderate runs at both belt lines on the door. These do not include the runs that I caught before taking delivery and asked for them to be corrected which was done very kindly and with no questions asked.In addition youll find some attention to detail mistakes such as overspray in the wheel wells, paint drips on the tire, and even one on the steering wheel / air bag.So, the decision you must make is did I get my moneys worth? The car looks much better than when we started, but is this a pro level job? Far from it. For as much of the hard work was done before the car was brought to Macco, the ball was dropped when it came time to spray the car.UPDATE: After sending this through the general customer service email as suggested by The Owner I received this wonderful canned response:Dear Derek Thomas,Thank you for contacting us at Maaco. Maaco did an excellent job with my old 84 chevy truck. The truck was very weathered (no glossy paint anywhere) and had some surface rust but was otherwise very straight and never in an accident. The dark navy blue paint came out very nice and the finish was mirror-like. The truck was undercoated when new, so this new paint job should help make it last for many more years. I also had spray in bed liner applied and it was nice as well.

Jason was always polite and understanding. Great to work with. The repair on my motorhome was beautiful. Very pleased.

After having to take my car back when I noticed the fresh paint cracking, I get it back with overspray on the wheelwell and there is some sort of paint or patching components on my driver seat and interior of the door.. needless to say Im very disappointed

The owner is supremely helpfuland cordial. I had damage to front bumper and below some of the padding was torn. They fixed it very well, there were some scratches on the car that they buffed out and painted over. The car looks as good as new now.

I let them did a paint repair. The painting was not great, a small particle was sealed in the paint. The price is reasonable. I am sure when they get in my car and move it, they were wearing the cloth for painting, and I notice a heavy paint smell and few very light white paint marks left on my leather interior. I believe they didnt notice it, but I noticed it after few mins when I get the car. Hope I can remove it myself.They promises that they are going to repaint the lift gate for me. I will update after they finish.They fixed the issue for free now, so I changed the rating.

Took a bumber to get painted a while ago. I put it on my car myself to save a couple hundred bucks. The bumper came back from these guys with A1 quality. Nice and glossy clear coat. Color even precisely matched my vehicle. Front desk was pretty smooth and straight forward. I would recommend to others

I think Macco gets a bad rap for being cheap and lousy. That was not my experience at all. Zeyed was very professional and polite. He answered all my questions and was prompt to fix what was needed without cutting corners or being sloppy. His team did a great job and I would highly recommend them. I couldn’t believe how nice the car looked after it was finished. The work exceeded my expectations. Now my car is good for another 15 years.

I went in to get my rear bumper replaced. Zeyad gave me an estimate that was over my budget for the new part directly from the dealer. But then he directed me to local junkyards where I may find a better price for the bumper. Luckily, I found one in a junkyard and Zeyad put it on my car. They worked quickly as it was only a few hours before they called me to pick my car up.

They did an *amazing* job on my car! Had two rusted-out holes underneath the front seats and they made that area look much better than the rear of the underside.They didnt tell me ahead of time, but they also did a solid coating on both sides of the new panels. Best of all: THEY BEAT THEIR OWN ESTIMATE AND CHARGED ME LESS THAN I WAS INITIALLY QUOTED! Have you ever even heard of such a thing? Lord knows I havent.

This place is comparatively cheaper! The service is good. I have to change the taillamp and fix the dent nearby. The total is 600$, which is cheaper than the offer from Kendrick NIssan.It cost them 3 days to repair my car. Very satisfied.

I had done body work for my car yesterday. The staff were friendly, the price was reasonable, and the service was fast.

Car was not cleaned after repairs, glass was still covered with over spray. Some New damage appeared as well.

Did a good job and replaced my bumper and was half as expensive as the other shops I checked.

The employee steal my Conential Procontent tire, and replace it with a at least 6-year-old tire!
