Always have to stop at Tamarck for a meal! The clam strips were so fresh! Lobster was delish! Just the right amount of mayo and the buns were toasted! The real reason we went was the onion rings - THE best! A must stop destination in the Lakes Region!

Had a craving for a lobster roll and this place did not disappoint… so delicious.

Being from Colorado I was super excited to try this place when we were in New Hampshire. Unfortunately it was quite a letdown. The only good thing was the serving size. We got some different fried seafood platters. Honestly, they didn’t have much flavor and we’re just not impressive. I was really disappointed and the overall quality. Also the place looks super rundown and I would not recommend this to other people.

I am a local and I come here all the time. I was a bit disappointed this trip. The chowder was lacking. The pint of clams just seemed on the small side to what l normally get. Also ordered haddock bites snd never received it. I was miles away when l realized they werent in my order. The onion rings were good but not great thus time. Not sure if it was dirty oil or what it was...but just not what l expected. Everyone has off days...hoping thats all this was. Always loved this place

Tasty lobster roll. Got the classic with touch of mayo. (They also offer plain with butter on the side) it was served quickly and was fresh. Good homemade iced tea to go along.Note that while they take credit cards, there is a 3% charge which wasnt made clear. (At last I didnt notice ahead of time.)

We visited Tamarack Restaurant for 7 takeout meals on our way to rent a pontoon on Winnipesaukee. Got cheeseburgers for all with fries for half and onion rings for the other half. The wait was a little long but the food seemed fresh as a result. It made for a nice meal on the lake. I suggest you give them a try!

We had a lobster roll, clam roll, French fries and onion rings. This was the first time we have stopped here, but every time we go by it is mobbed. Food was great, so can see why it is usually busy. Service was very quick.

They were about to close and made us great lobster rolls! The lobster was piled up high and was delicious. The owners are the sweetest and really went out of their way for us. We will be customers for life. The best!!

Lobster roll is great! I enjoyed the mayo better than the butter, but that is personal preference. Staff is fast and polite. We ate our food at the picnic tables - nice quick stop for good lobstah roll.

Came all the way here for the clam strips so we were disappointed when they were sold out... but due to current shortages it was most likely out of their control. We simply chose other menu options and enjoyed our lunch. Will be back next time we visit and hope to get the clam strips then!

So expensive but… the food is really good. It’s too expensive for eating often. The young team of workers are friendly. Service is slightly slow. Overall it’s a clean environment in a good roadside location. Seating (picnic tables) both inside and outside.

Their fish and chips are delicious! Nice white, moist fish with a light batter and french fries are tasty. Finally a place that has coffee milk shake!! We will be back dying to try the lobster roll and onion rings, plus many other food items!

Mediocre at best, just a couple of hot dogs but they were super cheap quality... probably chicken rather than beef, barely cooked. I wasnt impressed

Place is busy. Casheir was friendly waited quite some time for order. Clam plate with small overcooked clams, forgot onion rings and Cole slaw. You have to ask for plasticware salt pepper ketchup tartar napkins. Burger overcooked. Being run by kids with no customer service skills. Not very good. Disappointed

Was pretty disappointed with this place. Found cartilage and shells in my lobster roll that almost broke my teeth, the portions were pretty wimpy, and the fries kind of just tasted like Ore Ida ones you get from Hannafords. For the money, its definitely not worth it.

August 2021 Update: Disappointed in my first visit back to Tamarack this year. I ordered a Lobster Roll Basket...they took the order and incorrectly so I didnt get any fries, but wasnt charged for them either. I went up to the window to let them know, and was told Id have to pay the dollar difference to make it a basket - OK. So I got the dollar, but then I was told I would have to get back in line! After already waiting 20 minutes for my order, they expected me too get back in a line, and wait probably another 30 minutes to get what I originally ordered. Terrible customer service. To add insult to injury, the lobster roll looks significantly smaller than in the past too, and my sister had a little bit of shell in hers. I saved up to go three times this week, but I think Ill save my money. A lifetime customer lost.2020: My FAVORITE place to eat when Im at the lake. My family and I went THREE times during our week there! I cant get enough of their lobster roll - its delicious!!!

You must stop here if you’re in the lakes region! This was the best lobster roll I’ve ever had. Beat my all time favorite roll from a place in Newport RI. The lobster was incredibly fresh! Fries were great to dip in their tamarack sauce. Staff/owners extremely friendly and courteous. Absolutely delicious food!

Over priced small servings no coleslaw with fish platter and the tarter sauce was so gross. Seafood had a sour taste to them the onion rings were to salty.

An excellent hometown restaurant. The seafood is decent, considering it’s not on the coast. I like the fried whole belly clams. The lobster roll is excellent, loaded with lobster and served in a hot dog bun, as it should be!

Tamaracks is a fun little seafood restaurant with many food choices. I would recommend the Tamarack basket which includes a variety of foods including fried shrimp and chicken tenders. For seafood, the price for anything is very acceptable and it has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Overall a lot of the reviews have been absolutely horrible on this restaurant. Needless to say it was very concerned about eating there. We used to eat at this place 45 years ago. Back then I will be perfectly honest it was much better than it is today. Unfortunately thats why a lot of restaurants are a lot of them are a lot better in the past and they are presently.overall what we had is we had the typical fried clams scallops mixed platters that sort of thing. And Ive had better, but Ive also had far worse. Overall Id say the food was quite decent and thats pretty much what I have to say about it was a decent meal prices are surprisingly reasonable I mean very reasonable $19 for a combination clam and shrimp platter you try and find that for $19 anywhere else and youll have a hard time they usually go for close to 30 or more. So I would say the price point is probably one of their best things out there. For myself I dont mind spending a little more to up the quality but if they want to keep the price point as it is using what theyre using thats okay by me.they were quite busy and they got all of the orders they ran out of the calamari that was about it. Can we just substituted other food in its place so the meal is good.

Quaint with a lot of cute placards to entertain you while waiting for hand made food. There was a wait even after 1p on a weekday. I am no lobster roll connoisseur but this was not my favorite - plenty of meat but ice cold, not a lot of flavor, and the roll was toasted but cold? Maybe warmer with butter? The onion rings were delicious.

Great lobster roll, although if you are really hungry you may want to size up for a few extra dollars. The fried scallops were some of the best around - crispy on the outside and tender inside. Plenty of space at the picnic benches to eat outside.

Me and my lady stopped there on our way to profile falls last weekend.. I ordered the Buffalo box for 10.99.. the wings, tenders and cheese bites on top of a bed of fries.. everything was delicious.. the staff is friendly.. this is my first time eating here. But I would say, in my opinion. That this place is a safe bet to stop at for a quick bite to eat if you are passing by.. I will add pictures of the restaurant, menu and food as always..

Fast service and great food

To start with they give you very small amounts of food. The bathrooms dont have soup or running water in the sinks. Keep in mind these people make your food and cant wash there hands. Also the buildings have a horrible smell.

Had fried clam roll yesterdayCold to touch. Returned and they heated it up. All I could taste was sand. I threw them out It was not edible. Onion rings saved the day as they were delicious. Picnic area is nice and other customers were so nice and fun to be around while social distancing.Im sure as the season goes on and staff is fully trained it will get better.

Not just a place to eat but a required stop for tourists. If you stop here the lobster roll is a must. There is outside and inside dinning (in a seperate screened in building specifically for dining). Pricing and wait times are average for similar spaces to eat. This is a clam bar or dairy bar type place where you order at the window and pick up your order when your number is called. Food is made to order so there is a little bit of a wait but its worth it. Service and food quality has always been good. If its really busy parking can be tight but if needed there is parking across the street.

Just stopped for an ice cream, got to watch the parade of motorcycles during the beginning of Bike Week.

I just left there 20 minutes ago. We got the whole belly clam baskets.If there were any bellys I didnt find any! The clams were very small and looked and tasted more like strips. Very over priced for my taste.I grew up on the coast of Maine and hands down, this was the worst fried clams I have ever eaten in 60 years! I will never go back there for clam baskets.Dont bother.

Heard a lot of hype about this place but was very disappointed.First, during these times of covid-19 everyone in service is required to wear a mask, you would think everyone in food service would as otherwise they’re just getting all their germs onto your food as they handle it. Not a single person in this place had a mast on.Second, ordered $70 of food and as the cook said order up I looked and saw my full order, the person giving food to customers had the cook change my haddock sandwich and gave it to a customer 5 orders behind me (must be a local?) and I had to wait another 5 minutes for them to cook an another haddock fillet to complete my order. TOTAL BULLS*it

Decent food. Two stars because the service was awful. They messed up my order, and when I asked politely for the right item, the dark-haired girl in the red shirt rolled her eyes at me and said she would have to make me pay again. I said, “Why? The person who took my order made a mistake, I just want what I ordered.” And she replies, “yeah we don’t do that.” I said, “fix orders? even though I didn’t do anything wrong?” She slammed my ticket down and shouted out back to make the missing items. Ended up with chewy lobster and undercooked sweet potato fries. Thanks guys... I just wanted what I paid for.

I used to love the food at this restaurant 50 years ago when I was in my teens and twenties. It had great greasy summer food as people called it back in the day. In fact I used to work in similar establishments in the area such as the Double Decker which is no longer. Both places had similar food such as fried onion rings, clams, lobster rolls,scallops and other summer time treats.This time arrival at the Tamarack was disappointing in that the building itself was in a bad need of paint and looked rundown. Looking at the menu we discovered the prices seemed extremely high but we were ready to go for it anyway until my partner noticed an employee doing an unsanitary action and then going back to work. We left without ordering anything, I want to make that clear. I cant speak of the quality of the food but the general condition of the property and the action of the employee that we witnessed made it such that we had no interest in eating there. It was a great disappointment.

Awesome place for sea food, I personally love their lobster roll, but the assortment of various different dishes to choose from allows for anyone to find something they can eat. First thing you will most likely find is a longer line for the food, which is always a good thing. Food gets out of the shack pretty quickly, but time will vary based on what you ordered. Overall this is a very good place to get some sea food at. Its lit.
