Midas in Lacey got me in right away, despite being short-staffed. The price was great, service was excellent and they replaced my brakes (front and rear) in less than 3 hours. I highly recommend them!

They did a good job after taking back a second time and explaining the issue after it was not passed down to the mechanic. The mechanic needed to be more accurate in explaining the work he did and using the correct nomenclature for the parts he replaced. If I have any work that involves timing belts on front wheel drive cars I will take it here, if my local mechanic is not available.

If you ask for Dave Mattern. Jr., to work on your vehicle specifically. You can be ASSURED whatever work, you are getting done at Midas, Will be done CORRECTLY, COMPLETELY,and with extra care. All employees there are great. But Dave is a talented class act who will not skip a beat. Extremely hard worker& endlessly knowledgeable. IN ALL of my COUNTLESS...(maybe 15+) experiences throughout MANY years now. He TRULY cares. & will always attempt to save you money if possible as well. A rare find!

Cost was very high! We brought the car in because it would die when you were driving it. They ended up replacing the starter. We were driving home halfway there the car dies. We had to get a tow truck to take us to a different mechanic because they did not fix the original problem that we needed fixed. I will not be using them ever again. I would like to say the people who work there were nice thats all they got.

We initially had a little bit of a wrinkle in our repair due to a technician error. However, I have changed my previous rating to 5 stars because of how the shop manager, Dave, handled the situation and made good (and more) on the error. I sympathize with the labor challenges all businesses are facing right now coming out of a national crisis and a shut-down economy. I have been with this Midas Shop for 15 yrs. Honest, Quality Work, Best Shop I have ever been to. I traveled a lot in my job, required a 100 + miles a day in various locations as a Medical provider in rural areas. I now have 210, thousand miles, to this day my car has never left me stranded, Due to the quality of Care my car received at this shop, Manager of shop kept me advised of maintenance required, time factor until next maintenance was needed and what was needed and estimated cost, So that is why as of this day even after I have retired my car is still dependable and on the road, My family comes from Tacoma to have their vehicles serviced at this shop. due to there honest, trust worthy work, 1 even comes from King County Thank You Midas Thank You Dave for all you have done, I will always bring my cars to your Shop

Very helpful and kind, no charge as they could not complete the service their electric guy was out! They did everything they could think of shy of the electrical to figure it out! They said I could bring it back when he was and they would finish the job, with an apology. They did a great job with what they had on hand.

Ive called multiple times to this branch and without hiding my intent, Ive shopped local prices for a specific task. Without fail, Midas has not only been the cheapest, but were also personable, engaging, funny and willing to price match anyone who thought they could beat em. Which is truly a rarity in the automotive mechanical field.Unfortunately, I was only helping a friend find where to go. I am very capable of doing my own mechanical work. That said, if I were ever to outsource a job to anyone, I wouldnt hesitate a second to call the guys (and gal?) At this shop.Cheers!

They did my brakes twice and Im satisfied with that except when they get into my car my interior cloth has dirt all over it that happen twice I have a light gray cloth interior on my Lexus Im very dissapointedIt took me a while to clean itI wish they will care about touching any interior in a car especially when their hands get really dirtyto me is not proffesional

I called ahead and made an appointment for a muffler. I asked them specific questions regarding my car & what I wanted done. They said yes we can do that & made an appointment for 8am the following day. I drive an hour to get there. They have no idea who made the appointment & why as the guy who does mufflers isn’t even working. If I could give zero stars I would. Thanks for wasting my time!!!

BEWARE: Any vehicle left on this lot is at risk of being stolen/broken into and Midas will refuse to compensate for anything. We left our truck there to be serviced and while in their care our tailgate was stolen right off the truck and Midas refused to compensate or offer anything for the inconvenience. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR VEHICLE OVERNIGHT! Exhaust service was fine.

Took a little longer than I had hoped due to a couple mishaps but they got the job done and were very nice about it. He did mention a discount but didnt really go into it. They were also able to make the appointment two weeks before other shops. Midas of Lacey also feels more like a local shop.

The service was fine. The problem is that a tool box was stolen of the bed of my truck while on their lot. They claim to have no cameras and they can’t do anything about it. I was just pushed aside and no concern at all for my property. Just a little insulted after dropping near $3,400.This Midas location does not give a care at all about their customers property while in their possession. I don’t understand how they would not have any security on their lots...unless of course they’re lying to me.

I went in for a tire swap, they said they couldnt fit me in for 3 days.. drove down the road to universal tire and they were finished swapping my tires in under an hour.

I brought my new old truck in for an oil change. They did a full inspection and fixed a serious safety issue and didnt charge me a dime for it. Exelent service, great price.I will be back.

Had muffler repair and replacement done and the welding job was so.poor that there were actually gaps ....and the quality if the workmanship and welding was about what you would expect from someone with about 3 hours practice.... was expensive and not very good work

Cant give no stars so 1 star is what youll get.. Scheduled a confirmed appointment for an alignment from 8-10 am. Showed up at 8 and was told I couldnt get my vehicle worked on until 10 or after 10 am. What is the reason to schedule a confirmed appointment if it cant be done between 8-10am. Took my vehicle elsewhere and got it done on the spot. Thanks for losing my business and I will not recommend Midas at all to no one! Ill be sure to spread the word.

Not only was I lied to by Midas I was also ripped off! 3 months after having my brake pads done all the way around I had to have the rear ones replaced because they were never worked on ....yet paid for!!! it does no good to complain to corporate office they have my money and theyre smirking. Twice I was told there was mechanical problems with my car that were false. I was told there was a leak in a hose that does not exist in my Nissan Murano. I was also told that my whole e-brake cable needed replacing when the pads were only necessary. My best friends oil changed ended in a disaster when they skipped replacing the oil cap. They dont care and they dont have to!!

Great prices and wonderful customer service! I would just try to keep it simple here. I have had great luck with oil changes, brakes, alignments and other routine maintenance, but when it came to a mysterious leak it my Jeep, it took two tries, they fixed it the first time but the leak was still happening so they fixed it again and i got charged full price both times. That left a bitter taste in my mouth. But I dont have hard feelings because they are very reasonably priced and routine maintenance is what I usually have to deal with.

This is the best place for Uber vehicle inspection. Oil change coupons are the best here fast and friendly too.Its a great location close to stores and restaurants that are all open right now.

My step son got his brakes done there but they didnt assemble them correctly and he had to take it to Midas in West Olympia to fix. Figuring that was a fluke I opted to have them replace a catalytic converter perform a full exhaust inspection, flush and fill my radiator and replace a hose they said needs replaced. $1154 and 6 hours later I have an exhaust leak and now my car is undrivable because all the radiator fluid is pouring out of the hose they fixed. I dont think they can do anything right at this point.

They could not recharge my electric cars air conditioner but charged me $35 for looking at it and deciding they couldnt do it. But they are friendly folks there.

I came in and asked to weld or repair a broken exhaust pipe for a 1995 Toyota Camry.. I have learned that Midas means you better have lots of money when you take your care there! They put a pipe around the break and clamped it down.. Bill was $279!!!!!!!!! Two weeks later the pipe fell off! I live in South Dakota! I got totally ripped of because I was out of state!

First time my truck was brought in was by my wife while I was working for a simple brake change. With an appointment she sat there for 5 hours. Shortly after I got the truck back I noticed all my brake fluid had leaked out. I brought it back in and they replaced a part that was installed incorrectly. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Shortly after my 2nd time in my new brakes that were put in were grinding, so I took it back a 3rd time and all they said was “cleaned it up”. Well, this morning with the family in the truck I got another warning light, no brake fluid. This place is dangerous. I have contacted them about a refund completely. I took my truck to the Toyota dealership because I can not trust my safety or that of my family to such poor quality work for a 4th time. I will update this review after they decide to do the right thing and refund me or if it becomes a legal matter.

Dave at midas is solid. We take all of our vehicles there. Sometimes auto shops dont get things correct the first time. I rate them based off of the follow up to this. If something wasnt diagnosed correctly the first time he has always offered to get it right back in to fix the problem. Also, there prices are not crazy like dealer pricing, that being said they also dont work for free.

I have been going here for a few years and they have always been very professional and honest. I appreciate all they do for my van and to keep me on the road safely.

This is a great place to take your car if you want horrible service.My brakes were failing so, I took my truck to the nearest mechanic to have them fixed thinking this is something any mechanic should be able to do. Boy, I was wrong.They do an inspection and replace a few components that were worn down.Original quote was $100 less than the final cost(guy did work I didnt explicitly authorize), which was disappointing but not the biggest deal.Truck is suppose to be good to go.As soon as I drive it off the lot I hear creaking/straining sounds and then loud cracking/metal breaking sounds.Stop my car within 30 ft of this place when a bunch of metal looking pieces start falling from the underside on my truck.Picked up the pieces and brought them back to the mechanic.Takes my truck onto the lift and says its fine now and that he had made a mistake leaving his tools attached to my truck(not as in on the outside of my tire, in the inner working of my car) and thats what broke when I drove the car.There was also an odd clicking sound coming from my car after the breaking fiasco. Guy says there is a rock in my tire and not to worry about the sound.(what?)Im late for work at this point and just need to go.My next appointment is within 5 mins of this shop.Well mate, my breaks still did not work reliably and I could have been seriously injured in a car crash so that was a thrilling experience.Next day, I call this shop,(after having my car towed to my regular mechanic after work and getting a ride home), let me tell you this guy was nice but could not care less my brakes still didnt work and he did a bad job on my truck.Does not want to issue me a partial refund for the labor but to bring my truck in again to be worked again. No. Why in the world would I do that?I let the customer care folks at Midas know about my experience and they give me the run around for over a month. Dont want to do a thing to help me. Dont want to issue a corporate refund for their guys trash work on my truck.Shop owner is just some guy who pays to use the midas name, midas doesnt take responsibility for their franchise owners shops.They are basically useless and will not help with anything.Just selling their name to make a quick buck but not have any of the responsibilities that come with letting someone operate under your corporate name.Truck is fine now, my regular mechanic fixed it up for me like he always does.Maybe youll get ok service here. Maybe theyll overcharge you and wreck your car but with a smile!

The reception person is not good. I didnt want to make war. But he gave the same service for a white guy who came after me. I feel disappointed. I dont know why he did that? He was even not happy to talk to me.

I came in due to needing an uber inspection. Living in Tacoma, this place was one of the only close locations. I called placed an apt and the uber app let me know it would be $20. On the phone I was not told differently. I planed to have exactly enough to do this inspection as they used to be free. When I arrived I was told it was $48. Over twice as much. I was told they tried to tell uber. I suggested they should have told me on the phone if they knew of this issue. They said yea well we try.I was stuck paying double the amount for this service and more really to the point they didnt seem to care at all. Maybe its more ubers fault but customer service regarding the issue was lacking heavily.

I called here trying to get my car inspection for rideshare... the rideshare app stated the inspection will cost $20. An employee at this Midas told me they charge $39 plus tax...nearly double the rate expected by the rideshare company...I called Self Service Garage in Tacoma and they told me $25 after tax... ridiculous to think your minimal inspection is special compared to another garage. I would never go here for anything!!

I do not know if the particular spot wasnt expert with my issue or they just could not repair it the way it should have been but my vehicle kept having issues and I kept spending money. I am not coming at them but I recommend doing thorough research before going there especially if the issue is a big one.

Ive been going to these guys for over 10 years. They always go above and beyond their call of duty. Never had a problem with their work or products. Any minor discrepancies were always taken care of without question. No unexpected fees or service charges. I recommend them unequivocally for any automotive work.

I cannot tell you how grateful I am that I took my vehicle to this Midas location. The service is prompt and friendly (Dave and Rick were incredibly courteous and pleasant), but what I am most impressed with is their honesty. They charged me $95.00 for a repair that a different auto repair chain wanted to charge me more than $500.00 for. I am thoroughly impressed!

Open during pandemic, but booked for quite some time. Potential savings but not open to wait for an appointment. I needed oil change right away.

Weve been going to Midas for a while now and take all our vehicles here. They tell you straightforward what needs to be taken care of and what can wait or not needed. Their turnaround is also quick. We usually get our car back within a day or so depending of we scheduled an appointment or just dropped the vehicle off.

I had my Ford F-250 7.3 L Diesel customized with a new Diamondback 4” Exhaust in December 2017. It took longer than they estimated due to the size and firewall but didn’t charge me any extra. They were professional and friendly. I’m headed back in July for some steering and suspension work. Very happy with the performance and especially the new sound! Thanks Gentlemen!

Started out with Olympia Midas telling me they can fix my exhaust on a van. Waited around 2 hours and said they couldn’t do it. So they called Lacey who said they could probably do it and they couldn’t after an hour. So I went by the auto parts store and got the piece I needed (braided flex pipe) for 30$ and welded it in. Good as new now. Took me less than an hour.

Wouldnt even look at my car at all.

I am having issues with my Ford Focus starting properly. I spend over $400 in the shop (plus $100 part) and my car still has the same issue. Oddly I had the same issue at the west Olympia location who put in a faulty thermostat. I kept saying it wasnt right and they kept telling me my car was normal. I will be taking my car to another shop from now on.

Easy appointments, great staff and reasonable prices

My truck did not come out much better then it went in. Had to take it back and they said it had multiple part failures. All parts brand new they put in. It took a month. They tried to charge us a second time to replace what they most likely installed incorrectly. Ultimately we didnt have to pay, they mostly fixed it it took forever and felt shady.

Great service new tires alignment rear brake pads and rotors turned. The brakes were a surprise and yet they still were right on time. Fast friendly honest service.

David at the desk was very nice! My car was taking a long time to be serviced and he kept me updated on the progress. Great customer service!

Had his tech correctly identify the problem with my truck, fixed it at no cost to me and refunded some of the money that I had paid earlier.Thank you!Have had my car in this shop several times over the past month due to my engine light coming on. Been charged about 250 dollars, and now once again my light is on. Dave tells me to bring it back in and he will have his Guys look at it again. Well am tired of taking my car in only for them to throw a part on, charge me 100 dollars only for the light to come back on. I asked to speak with the owner and am still waiting on a call back. I have spent almost 2000 dollars at this Midas over the past month and one would think that whoever owns this place would take the time and call me to discuss my disappointment with his/her business and see what if anything he or she will do for me to make sure that I do not keep getting ripped off. I had my brakes replaced, and my brakes lights come on and off also. Just saying.

Sometimes you have to wait a couple of days for an appointment but they do a great job and even help install things for free from time to time if your a loyal customer. They dont over charge and fix what is wrong and give suggestions on when something might need to be worked on they dont try to sell you that service

Went in to ask for allignment... They said I didnt need one but should get new tires... Went to discount tire who said tires are still good for at least a year, but also confirmed allignment is off. Midas touch, more like midas fail

A different repair shop diagnosed my problem as an exhaust manifold/gasket leak, which is a $550-700 repair on a jeep tj. I took my vehicle here because they had an earlier opening, lucky for me that I did. In a little more than an hour of dropping my jeep off I got a call saying they found the exhaust leak elsewhere and had already repaired it. Now my jeep is sounding great again and they only charged me for an hour of labor.

Service is friendly and reasonably priced. I trusted their recommendations and they were 200 less than another shop. We have had 3 repairs here and never had an issue.
