I should have posted this reveiw about a year ago, but here goes. My mom was having engine troubles and she took her car to a couple of places. One place told her that her water pump had gone bad and was going to set her back about 1400 bucks. Another place didnt even look at her car and had it parked behind their garage for about a week then tried telling her that her motor was toast and that they needed an engine swap. And charged her a 100 bucks for the diagnostic...bull-$#!÷. Thats when my brother and I found out about Expert Auto. They didnt try to fleece my mom. They fixed her car ( it was a bad alternator) as well as a couple of other things. The price was reasonable too. So yeah, I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone whose vehicle is past warranty.

Have taken two cars (Toyota and Honda) to expert auto for various repairs for the past 4-5 years. Could not ask for a better service. They are transparent and very competitive in pricing considering the service that they provide. I just got back from an AC repair job and 100,000 mile service with a valve adjustment and the engine is purring like a happy kitten. They always go above and beyond with cleaning the car interior and even cleaned my engine up real nice. So much more personable and accurate in their recommendations than the Honda dealer which is more interested in upselling to you than being transparent IMO. A+!!!

Expert Auto Repair is my go to in Lacey. I love everything about this business. They are kind, professional, timely, affordable... and best, they do not try and gouge, or overcharge on non-necessary items. They have been more than honest with me and have actually told me when things do not need maintenance. They always call before performing any maintenance that is required if you have not asked for it. They do charge extra for labor if you bring your own parts, but that is normal. Their hourly labor charge is better than most and Ive found that they do not over charge on labor when something takes much longer than it should. For instance, I had brake rotors on my Civic that were rusted and difficult to remove and they did not charge me for the hour it took them to take it off. They also replaced my remote battery for free and have done other small maintenances for free that were mild inconveniences, but leave you walking out feeling more than gratified regarding their personnel and services rendered.Ive had many good auto shops in the past in different cities... but this is better than good. They are great in ALMOST every aspect. I will continue to go here unless something changes, but it hasnt since I moved here 6 years ago.

I valled for an estimate for oil change. The guy that andwered said hed call me back with that information but never called me back. He needed some info on my truck that i wasnt sure of. He took my plate number to get the info himself and said he call me back. Havent heard fm him since.

They did repairs on my truck a while back. Fixed it up and pointed me in the right direction of how to fix my steering on my own. Even printed out a diagram of how to fix it for me. Im going in with my crown vic in about a week to have them look it over. Dennis seems to be a trustworthy guy and the employees there seem pretty nice to.

Great services and employees. I hope I dont need to come back anytime soon for more work on my car but if I need to, Im happy to return here.

Let me start by saying that Dennis and his team has agreed to do a full safety check on my 1990 Honda Accord through Make a wish Foundation. It was a surprise gift for my son who battled leukemia all through his high school years. He is 25 now and is in full recovery! God is good! We still have this Honda till this day and because of the Expert Auto team, it is still running at top top shape! Not to mention all of our other vehicles as well. Expert Auto Repair are very honest and very trust worthy, or I wouldnt of dealt with them for these many years. Ive been going to Kevin and his crew for 12 years now. Great work at reasonable prices, done on time. Real attention to detail. During a recent oil change they noticed a crack in my frame that the auto body repair said most people would not catch. By getting it early I was able to avoid a major repair. Great stuff. Bought a used car from an employee here. He had a ton of receipts for work done at the shop during the time they owned the car. 2 months later I was having to replace the head gasket and in doing so discovered that the timing belt/water pump/ other parts listed as being recently replaced were in fact not recent items. The timing belt was on its last legs, obviously well over the few thousand miles it supposedly had on it. While not completely the shops fault, they should be monitoring what their employees are printing up on company letterhead.This car has been a total nightmare purchase that was bought in good faith with all of the receipts for work done in consideration of its price.

Wonderful shop, super friendly. Were very thorough in finding problem and costs were good. Clean. Will be my go to shop in the future. Highly recommend.

My husband is a mechanic by trade and this is the ONLY place we take our vehicles if there is something he can’t do himself. The don’t do unnecessary repairs, they are honest, and if there is a way to they can save us money, they will. The mechanics are knowledgeable and very kind. I can’t recommend them enough!!

I love this shop, helped me with my vehicles after my husband passed, totally trust them! As a female you tend to get taken by some shops, not this shop! Theyre great! Kevin & Dennis are wonderful, treat you good, will always use them. Not getting rid of me, sorry guys, lol

I had been looking for a reputable mechanic for months for my Mazda and I finally found one! Fast and friendly excellent service! I was quoted one third of the price for my engine motors mounts than what the dealership wanted and when it was all said and done they charged me even LESS than the original quote. Replaced much quicker than anticipated, will definitely be my new go to mechanic.

This place was great. I went here after I tried another shop that quoted me a bit more than I was expecting. I worked with Dennis and he was incredibly helpful and informative. I trusted his advice, and he explained things very well so I had a good understanding of what was going to be done. Overall, I paid less than I was hoping, which was a pleasant surprise. The work was performed quick and efficiently and Ive had no issues since. I will be bringing my vehicle here in the future.

Great bunch of guys working there. Very honest, and will let you bring your own parts for a bit higher hourly repair rate. They did great with my 08 Cadillac, 12 GMC, and 02 & 05 Hondas.

Probably the best and knowledgeable auto shop Ive been to. They have taken care of me on more than one occasion and explained to me the whole way what they were doing. Not like any auto shop Ive been to before where they only care about getting the most money out of you. They have amazing prices and the best customer service.

Im from out of town. My car was dying and I highly suspected alternator issue. They took it in without appointment just before closing and the next day they tested it and determined it was only a bad battery. They didnt overcharge me, though I was a sitting duck. Friendly and helpful and the owner gave me a short ride to my hotel since he was leaving for the day anyway. What a car repair shop should be like.Update one year later: I was in town on business again and had an electrical problem with tail lights. New bulb would not work. Expert Auto Repair located corrosion and fixed it quickly and for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!

These guys are fantastic. Saved me a couple times now, and for a much better price than I would have found anywhere else. Only place I’ll take my car ever again. Soild advice, great service, reasonable prices

After trying a couple shops in town, we found Expert Auto Repair. They do very good work at good prices. They have been, fair, honest, and accommodating to us. They have only prescribed work when our car needed it. They have done a radiator, timing belt, and will be doing an engine mount on our car. Great service and I recommend them.

Ive taken my vehicles to Expert Auto Repair for several years, and they are a very good shop. They always look out for the customer and only do the work that is required. Their recommendations as to other work recommended are always spot-on. I have found them to be reputable, trustworthy, and a facility that I can easily recommended. In my opinion, this is one of the best repair facilities around.

I am not one to rate and review for anything, however after my recent experience with Expert Auto Repair I have to let it be known that this is a top notch establishment.I was visiting my daughter in Lacey this past week when I noticed her Check engine light was on. I stopped into Expert unannounced and they took her car in right away and had it diagnosed and repaired within a couple of hours, I was very pleased and at the time I picked up the vehicle they informed me of another problem that existed and should be fixed.I told them I would be returning to Denver in 2 days and wanted to see if I could get the repairs done the next day, they said yes and the vehicle was brought back the next day, It had to have a new radiator installed and a few other minor maintenance items done.Around closing time I found out that there was some issues with completing the radiator installation due to parts not fitting together correctly, This was not their fault just a parts issue. It was 5 pm Friday evening. After talking with Hoyt and explaining that I needed the car to get to the Airport the next morning he said dont worry we will do whatever it takes to have it done tonight.He and the technician that did the repairs stayed there until 9:00 pm and finished the work.Talk about going the extra mile!!! I cant thank them enough and will always use Expert Auto Repair in the future for my vehicle repairs,I highly recommend them to anybody that wants good honest people to do their repairs.Thanks again,Brad Younkerman

I have use their service a handful of times over the last few years. Minor repairs and fixes were on time and priced well. However when I took my suv in for transmission work, being a sealed transmission, the mechanics didn’t replace the proper amount of fluid and my transmission went bad quick. So 5000 dollars later I have a new transmission and a new mechanic....

The team has never failed me. I have been coming to them for the last 7yrs now and they have always taken care of all my vehicles. I highly recommend them.

Good work at good prices. But double check them. I had a fuel tank repaired and they had a student put it back together. They forgot to connect the filler hose to the tank! They did make it good, and paid for the fuel, but it was a shock.

Horrible experience!! A year ago my car had started shaking and I took it to Expert Auto to have it looked at. They told me that two of my motor mounts needed to be replaced. They replaced them and then i drove for awhile and noticed my car was still shaking. I took it back the next day and they then told me that the mechanic that had looked at it the previous day had somehow missed that the other two needed to be replaced as well. They replaced the other two motor mounts and the car still continued to shake. I took it to a different mechanic and they told me that the motor mounts were probably put on incorrectly but they couldnt be positive unless they took everything apart. So i went back in to Expert Auto and asked them to look at the motor mounts again and they then told me that it was my harmonic balancer, not the motor mounts. They replaced that part and I told them my car was still shaking. The mechanic drove the car and then told me that because of the type of car (Dodge Neon) it was going to be shaking (even though it hadnt been shaking before this problem). At that point I had spent over $1000 and decided that I could not spend anymore money on them guessing what could be the problem.Now a year later, my front car shakes worse than it did a year ago. I took my car to a new mechanic (not expert auto) and they told me that my motor mounts were completely damaged and they were not done correctly. I called Expert Auto and they told me that the motor mounts were not under warranty so there was nothing they could do but I could bring it in if I wanted to have them look at my car.Now Im having to get my motor mounts fixed a year later because Expert Auto does not know what they are doing.Edit to the owner: yes, this is where I brought my car for several years and no I won’t be taking my review down because that is exactly what happened.

Excellent customer service! Hoyt, the service manager, along with the crew and owner, Rick, are very friendly and easy to work with. Quote on my 1997 Subaru Outback came out on the lower end and the mechanic did a great job; quick and efficient! THX!!!

I have been here twice and both times they have been very helpful.

I had a really bad experience here. They ordered a new AC compressor for my car, and I arrived to have the work completed at 8am. After walking around the area for an hour with my young child, assuming that they had started doing the work, they called and said that they had mistakenly sent back the newly ordered part earlier in the week. They said I needed to reschedule for the next week. NO apology was made until I made it quite clear that I was frustrated with the inconvenience. I rescheduled for the next week.I then dropped the car off one morning the next week and was told they would call when the work was completed. I was also told it could take 2-3 hours. After 4 and a half hours without a call I finally went back to the repair shop because I had run out of things to do in the area. They handed me my keys soon after I walked in. I asked if the car work had just been completed because I never received a call. I was told that the work had been completed within the 2-3 hour timeframe, and he had simply forgot to call me. He proceeded to discuss how sometimes things get so busy that he has to prioritize and things get missed.Apparently having a customer walking around for 2 extra hours waiting on a car that is already completed is not a priority in the eyes of this business.I just cant believe that they would try to explain the non-call by expounding upon the fact that I wasnt a priority. He again was not really apologetic.For this awful customer service and inconvenience I was offered about $20 in discounts on a nearly $800 bill. The $800 is about what was quoted originally.

It is hard to find a shop you can trust that will fix your car and not stick it to ya. This is the place, friendly, fair and honest describes this shop.
