Staff DO NOT wear masks. I was in the store for a little over an hour in the early morning and I didnt see a single employee with a mask. I didnt see any of the 8 - 10 customers wearing a mask either. Also, in the entire hour I was inside Dixieline I was not asked once if I needed any help. But I was greeted at the door when I entered Dixieline by a female cashier.* Almost 3 weeks later and I hear some of the Dixieline staff have tested positive for the virus. When searching for a custom door seller and installer, Ive learned that you are really hiring a team. If any team member in the chain makes a mistake, your experience can be seriously mauled. Dixieline Lumber in La Mesa has gathered a great group that successfully helped me with the purchase and installation of a custom fiberglass front door at a lower price and more quickly than five competitors. Dixieline salesman John J. gave me bids for several fiberglass doors from several manufacturers without urging me to buy one over the other. In contrast, several other sellers urged me to buy the only brand they sold, the brand they said was the best. John told me the door I chose would take a month to build and reach the Dixieline store, that Dixieline would make sure I was satisfied with the initial install and would guarantee the installation for three years.When the door arrived at Dixieline exactly a month after purchase, John let me visit the store to view door, which was in excellent shape. Install scheduler Mike L. arranged the install for four weeks after that. (John originally estimated it would be two weeks.) Installer Marco arrived with door, door frame and other important parts on delivery day. It took him three hours to remove the old entry door and bullnose frame from my 1941Craftsman-style house. (Bullnose frames are notoriously difficult to remove. One competitor refused to even bid on the project once he saw the frame.) After Marco removed the old frame (piecemeal because not more than a few inches of frame would come out at time), he installed the new door frame quickly, and added the door and molding. Before sealing the new frame, he asked what I thought. I told him I didnt like that the molding bordering the door was different widths on each side. He returned the next business day and reinstalled the molding so that it was the same width on all sides and sealed in the door frame. The day after that I noticed a small hole had opened up in the sealant under the door, but before I could call the installation centers direct line for customers, someone (perhaps Dixieline quality control) had visited my house and filled in the hole with more sealant. Other folks who helped in the process include store manager Diana O, who handled communication when I couldnt reach John or Mike by phone, and field supervisor David L., who visited my home on installation day to ensure all was well. It is important to note that even though the installation took two weeks longer than originally planned, this process happened during the pandemic, and no competitor would estimated less time for the install. One competitor said it would take them six months to install the door once I hired him. I am very satisfied with my new door, and am very thankful that this team went the extra mile to get it right.

Let me start by saying, I never leave reviews, and I should being a small business owner, and knowing how important they are. But I just came here to pick up a quick window adhesive and to have a key made- and every single employee I interacted with was helpful, kind, personable, and friendly! From the gentleman who helped me search the store for adhesive, the key maker (who remade the key because he didn’t feel the first one was good enough), and the cheerful cashier- each one was an absolute pleasure and thorough at their job! I love good customer service, and it was so refreshing to find it here, when I feel that it’s so hard to find now a days. Especially coming back from a pandemic and still dealing with masks (and everyone’s cranky opinion about them), you could literally tell each one of them was still wearing a smile underneath! I’m glad I came in, and will gladly come back to support my local hardware shop!

This review is for Jeri, the paint manager. Jeri is knowledgeable, professional and EXCELLENT at matching paint! I purchased paint from this store about 20 years ago. I was told that it couldnt be matched due to reformulation of the paint. Jeri matched all the colors perfectly! I will not set foot in this store again to buy paint unless Jeri is working.

Not a great experience, service was so so. Sales person who was helping me took phone calls an in the middle of me ordering my lumber waited on a friend . Took way to long. Next time Im going to shop around for another place.

They have the best selection of wood and lumber. I drove in and parked through thier side entrance and THIS IS A LUMBER YARD (unlike Home Depot)! Workers are proactive being helpful inside and out of the store.I am fabricating an above ground garden box and I needed the cheapest fence plank (5/8X5.5-6 #1 GRADE F/T CEDAR) Home depot was cheaper but was out of stock. Dixieline Lumber and Home Centers has a website with product listings for searches but doesnt have online shopping (with a cart). That may be why they have better product availabilty but not the best price.

Our experience here is usually good but Tuesday we came by to get some potting soil and asked this tall lady with glasses for help and she said i guess. not very welcoming. then she asked what size bag my wife said medium and she replied we only have small in a sassy tone. we got our bag with barely any help from her and when we were walking to the register we told her we got it then she replied yeah the small bags, again being unnecessarily sassy. whatever her problem is she needs to get over it. we wont be going back for a while. plus I know for a fact we werent the only ones who complained that day.

Even though its smaller then the big box stores like home depot or lowes, the customer service and knowledge is so much better.

I prefer to shop at Dixieline whenever I can instead of the big box stores. They are not massively huge like the big box stores but they have everything needed from a hardware store. Friendly service too.

They didnt have what l was looking for. As far as customer service goes they are very helpful and friendly. The store is well organized in a manner that makes it easy for the customer to find things and clean.Plenty of parking spaces for the disabled. Competitive pricing.

Very disappointed in Dixieland. I came in about 2 months ago inquiring about new closet doors. I was given a name and number as a referral/contractor for the store. I reached out to the company. In the hear of COVID, I understand that staff/time is limited but to this day, I have yet to get even a quote for new doors. In a time where companies are closing, I would think business would be welcome. I am now seeking other companies to assist me when my request to upgrade my closets doors. Really disappointed in Dixieland.

Dixieline La Mesa is fantastic. They are so much more available to help than the typical home center... And no dusty warehouse either. This store has a kitchen design center, and beautiful window and door displays as well. The lighting section is a little week... I think thats my only critique. If you want to get great service, and get in and out fast, this is your place. They also have an excellent full service lumber yard too.

Absolutely love the La Mesa Dixieline. Went to Home Depot for a tub shower enclosure and waited over 45 minutes for the kitchen design person to try and locate someone - we finally left. Went to Dixieline and someone was available to help us immediately. Very knowledgeable helpful staff. From now on we will do business with Dixieline.

I love Dixieline. I probably go here at least once a week. The selection is so much smaller than a Home Depot, but they carry the essentials and quality tools. The workers are knowledgeable and easy to find. You can also find some pretty good deals on various items throughout the store.

Convenient but expensive compared to other orange place. I normally pay $3.49 for a standard 2x4 here it was $6.90. Double the price. They do have a better grade of lumber and customer service more helpful depending on who you talk to.

Whenever I go to the large warehouse home improvement stores, I find it difficult to get help or advise. I wander around until I stumble on the products needed and hope for the best. Not so at Dixieline. Thankfully there is always staff to help me or direct me to the right product or send me to a store that has what I need. Thanks Dixieline.

The remodeled store is great. They have a good selection of supplies. A little pricy compared to the other big hardware stores.

Showcase hardware store. Prices are a little high. We watch for ads. Absolutely love the showcases. If things seem high we will window shop, get ideas and but elsewhere. No reason to be over the top pricey.

I was interested in sheds. I liked that they had the sheds assembled, but I received weird directions from someone in the store about how to go see them. They had me wandering through the lumber yard on my own. I felt lost, so I went back in and found the sheds at the drive in entrance to the lumber yard.The reason for my 4 stars is that I generally know that Dixieline will be a little more expensive than the bigger chain home improvement stores, but I did not expect the shed I wanted to be over $150 more at Dixieline (on sale) than the regular non-sale price than the orange home improvement store. I am glad to have saved that $150, because (no fault of the home improvement stores) the shed was what seemed like a labor intensive project to put together.

Customer service was good, but picking up in the back was a chore because of the overcrowding of trucks.

The paint lady saved the day. She gave us free paint and paint sticks to repaint my fence and made my day that that was going backwards real fast.

They were super helpful. I had my hands full with my finds and some guy dropped what he was doing to help me bring it up to the front and then out to my car. Definitely above and beyond!

I am reviewing the Dixieline in La Mesa. I ordered a basic exterior door from the window/ door dept. They could not seem to get the order right on the first try, so they re-ordered. And after a couple of weeks... didnt get the second one right either. They did give me my money back without hassle so thats a positive.

More selection of products and tools than one would expect from a smaller hardware store. The sales floor employees are knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately, when you ask for help from the people up front, they typically give incomplete or incorrect directions and advise.

I enjoy the atmosphere and the personal attention available.

A pretty good selection of general hardware and home improvement store items, and an absolutely amazing lumber selection. No matter what size and material lumber you need, theyve got it, and its all reasonably priced.

Prices are higher but they employees have good knowledge on products. It seems that in contractors desk are way more knowledgeable that other biggers home stores. They have less products instock but they can order it and deliver sooner that other stores. I usually shop at bigger stores just because there are more everywhere. Over all Dixieline is good.

Went for a Milwaukee Drill bit 3/16th Cobalt, didnt have it available. Found a replacement bit that worked perfect. Friendly and helpful staff.

Was told to wait for pricing because only one employee could give it to us. After we waited 30 minutes was told she was booked up for the day and wouldn’t be able to help us.

Always good service they actually come up to you and help you. Hard to find that kind of service these days most anywhere.

For anyone who orignally be a Home Depot customer, and was thinking of giving Dixieline a chance at line. DONT DO IT. Dixieline does NOT have the customer service level (phone call-in, as to keep a first-served customer, vs putting that customer on hold when a walk-in customer then comes ) that Home Depot has. Add when a (then) Dixieline customer comments such 1st-time customer comments to store manager. Rather, the store manager -- OF CORPORATE LOCATION in SPORTS ARENA will indirectly debate. Indirectly speak in the Context that the store manger, hence DIXIELINE not care. I actually gave a THIRD store an opportunity for an additional unit to add in my collection, of what be a controversial tool. But when I came home, I found what size I bought of the THIRD BUSINESS -- the 1 of 2 dimensions was the winner from Home Depot.

First time shopping here despite the fact Ive lived in La Mesa for the last 3 years. Found what I was looking for and I didnt have to hassle going to other stores.

Was sold a used fireplace screen as new including scratches in paint and a crease in one of the screen panels. What posesses a corporate management that sells used and damaged products as new? When I called the store at 4:30 PM a recording stated the store was closed (actually open to 6PM). Called 2 other stores several times, nobody answered a phone.
