Im so grateful for Brians expertise. I brought my 2014 Hyundai in for a simple oil change. He said that he heard a noise in the engine and that it sounded like a crankshaft bearing going it. He said I should take it to Hyundai, because they are having all sorts of engine problems. I couldnt take it in, because most dealership mechanics are on strike. Shortly after I talked with Brian, I got a notice in the mail from Hyundai to take my car in for a software upgrade: Knock Sensor Detection System. I called the Hyundai dealer I have taken my car to in the past. They checked, and said they had installed that software update in 2019. They didnt tell me about it at the time, nor did they tell me that its imperative to take it to a Hyundai dealer right away if the check engine light goes on. When the light goes on, the engine goes into Limp mode, which slows the car down. That could be disastrous if you are on a highway, or a truck is behind you. I told the dealer that Im afraid to drive my car. Only then did he suggest names of two dealers that are part of a group that settled with their mechanics. I took my car to Happy Hyundai, in Oak Lawn. They said they would do a diagnostic on in. They were so busy they said it would take 3-4 days before they could do it. They called me yesterday to say that, yes, it needs a new engine and theyve sent my records (which I had scanned and emailed to them) to corporate for review. I got the good news today that I passed muster, and they will replace my engine under the warranty. They have to order the engine. So Ive been without a car since Friday, and it will take some time before I get my car back. If Brian hadnt been so astute and told me to take the car to Hyundai, I could have had a scary incident. THANK YOU SO MUCH BRIAN! Im grateful for your expertise. Moral of the story (besides taking your car to Vaupell), keep your records organized and available, for situations such as these. If I didnt have good records showing I had consistently taken care of maintenance, Hyundai would have denied services under my warranty.

We brought our car in with a myriad of issues and the Vaupell team handled it all very well. We felt that they provided a very thorough report post-inspection and gave us a good sense of our options for repairs - what to do now versus in the future. Nick at the desk was very polite and made check-in/check-out easy. Car sounds/runs so much better, and we have some ideas about what to expect going forward. Recommend.

Work was very satisfactory, however, I made one request to three separate staffers that was never fulfilled. I asked to see the damaged part.When I came to pay for the job, the part was “not available“ this happened after I made A phone call to three separate people on staff requesting to see the damaged part the week before. I understand that some parts have to be returned to the manufacturer. All I wanted to do was see the damage on that part before it was returned. This never happened.

The dealership told me I needed a full engine replacement ($$$). I took the car to Brian for a 2nd opinion. He did an extensive and thorough inspection and was able to establish that it was only the turbo that needed to be replaced (and some cleaning of other parts). Saved me a ton of money and now the car runs like new again. Very happy!!

It all started with a technician from Vaupell stopping me as I pulled into the YMCA....he was driving behind me. He told me that my brake lights were not working. I depressed the brakes a couple times and they seemed to work intermittent. I later learned that his name was Brien and he said that it could be the brake like switch at the brake pedal. When I got home I rechecked them with my wife watching and she mentioned that this could be the reason why drivers were honking at me as I would come to a red light or stop sign. I took my car in to Vaupell the next day for the repair. They ordered the switch and it was quickly repaired. I liked the way that they checked on the availability of the part and gave me cost to repair....this was important because I was immediately was able to determine if the price seemed reasonable. Thanks Brien...you saved me from someone rear ending me because of a faulty brake switch.

They replaced a variable valve sensor that was leaking. All is good, no more leaks. As always, the team at Vaupell did a great job.

Vaupell was able to fix a balancing issue with tires I purchased through Tire Rack. They were the fifth shop I brought my van to to repair the vibration issue. They have/used a Road Force machine and it seems to have resolved the problem. The staff and mechanics are very professional as well.

Initially happy, but after collecting the vehicle I note the invoice included synthetic oil and one of a newly installed tire was over inflated by 5 pounds. I had specifically asked for regular not synthetic oil. Had to release 5 pounds of pressure from the overinflated tire. Will not be going back.

Because of the great reviews, I decided to try out Jessups with something straightforward -- an oil change and tire rotation. All went well, and I was out of there in about 45-50 minutes. The technician kept the interior of my car clean. No grease or dirt in the interior, especially the light-colored seats and carpeting. I even got a free car wash with my oil change and tire rotation. The shops interior waiting area is small -- a few chairs -- but at least Jessups has one. (My old repair shop didnt have the luxury of a waiting area -- you waited on a bench, outside.) Fairly close to home, good service, and a waiting area -- Ill be back!

Jessups has been taking care of my car for 168,890 miles. I do long distance driving and I always have my car checked over before every trip. I can stay there comfortably and wait for my car, or they will drive me home and then pick me up if that is more convenient to me. I like that I can just drive over after work, and if they have room, theyll take my car in right away for what ever work I need done. Love that feature since I have a busy life.

I think I finally found a place I can trust!Recently, I had a flat tire about a mile from this shop. I ran over here to see if they could help me, and while they were unable to leave the premises, they were able to provide a contact for me who would be able to help.This contact, after arriving, determined my spare was also flat. He towed me over to Jessup where they repaired my tire the same day and filled my spare so I would be able to finish my errands. They checked out the car for me too and filled up some low fluids too. It was really inexpensive!Seriously, I would recommend this place to anyone. AND they are SO nice. No one there makes you feel stupid if you dont know anything about cars. And they spent time chit chatting with me while I waited. I love Jessups!
