I have been fortunate enough to work with Joe lame music I’m purchasing a beautiful guitar for my son as well as recently purchased saying a mandolin. Customer service down there is outstanding extremely knowledgeable and truly concerned to make the customer feel welcome and happy all the right ingredients with no pressure. After dealing with Joe at lanes which I would not purchase anything from another music store in the Knoxville area.

Joe and Logan are great to deal with! Ive purchased 2 American Fender basses, 4×10 Fender Cab, Fender Rumble 40, Kala Ubass, Fender tenor uke, Gretsch acoustic. The last two for my Daughter. They have always taken great care of me and the instruments. I will not go anywhere else.

Updated from 2 star to 4 star for great customer service. The owner did call me to explain the situation and everyone there was very kind. I understand people make mistakes and sometimes we have to give grace.I typically try to leave only positive reviews or no review at all, but still not feeling confident with todays interaction. We rented a violin about 3 years ago. I called about 3 months ago contemplating turning in the violin. The employee said I only owed $75 so I could turn it but so close to paying off. Then a few weeks ago I asked how much I owe, $90, Im told. Then today when I walked in, in told I owe $230. Yet Ive been making monthly payments so the prices should have been much less, not more. I got a lot of excuses on new employees, yadada. Reluctantly paid in full, but learned a lesson...get payoffs in writing and keep up with your own rentals!

I will not go back to lanes ever again. I have been going to lanes for seven years but I am not coming back. I have bought three guitars from lanes that have had electronic issues or neck issues. I bought a thinline telecaster from lanes and it lived at the shop for most of the year. I had it worked on countless times and it was never fixed. It stayed at the shop for three months at one point. I then got it back and it started doing it again. I ended having to sell it because of all the electronic issues. I then buy a fender jazz master from lanes and once again it has problems. The neck was warped just enough to make it buzz no matter how you adjusted the neck. They wouldn’t take it back because it was out of there return policy by a week. I called corporate and corporate made them trade me for a guitar of the same price. I played a prs s2 for about an hour and couldn’t find anything wrong with it. When I got home I learned it had coil taps on the humbuckers. I pulled out the tone pot on the bridge humbucker and to no surprise it didn’t work. The coil Tap would not split the humbucker. I will not be coming back to lanes and I recommend buying from guitar center. They have a better return policy and at least they wouldn’t think twice about returning it and sending you a new one. Or even better support your smaller shops like music room or tennesssee guitar and sound. (DO NOT BUY FROM LANES) If you do make sure your in the return window or you will get hell from the owner.

Friend bought a guitar here. Hes not knowledgeable in guitars and it was broken when he bought it but didnt know. When he came back in they wanted to charge him for the repair even though the guitar was bought 2 days prior. My friend being a nice guy agreed to have the guitar repaired but ended up having to wait almost 15 days before he could get it back. The adjustment to the guitar would have taken 5 minutes to fix. We will be doing all our repairs in-house after this and dont plan to come back here as a result of this experience.

The owner, Wyatt, was very patient and helpful with a first time piano buyer. You don’t get that level of insight and support buying elsewhere. What is even more impressive? Wyatt and his team went above and beyond helping me during the COVID-19 outbreak. I cannot recommend this company highly enough!👏🏻

Lane Music was incredible to deal with when purchasing my new Johannes Seiler GS-150 baby grand. Wyatt was an absolute joy to work with on my trade and purchase of the new piano. Way better option than the big box guitar store down the road. Personal service is what small business is about and these people were great. Purchased an American made jazz bass on Black Friday and got a sweet deal. They even offered to return it for a full refund for 7 day trial period. Once home It took about 10min to decide this was not getting returned as the instrument was hitting the sweet spot right out of the store. Professional music store is the way to go.

They gave me a great deal two years ago on my Yamaha keyboard and accessories. Naturally, they are low on Yamaha keyboards during the pandemic.

Im a brand new guitar player and needed a beginner guitar. I wanted an acoustic guitar that wasnt too pricey but was still of good quality. After a little online research, I found a few models I wanted to check out. Lane Music was my first stop. When I went into the store, I was greeted by Wyatt. They didnt have a huge selection of guitars in the store, but they did have some nice ones, including one of the models I wanted to check out. Wyatt couldnt have been more friendly or helpful, and he was very knowledgeable about guitars in general and especially his specific products. They were also running a sale that had a very nice discount. I told him I wanted to check out a couple of the other guitars on my list before a final decision, but I might be back. He said that was fine and made no high pressure sales pitch. After checking a couple of other shops in Knoxville, I did find some of the other models I was considering. However, none of the shops had as good a deal, and none of the sales reps were as knowledgeable or helpful as Wyatt. So I went back to Lane and bought my guitar there (a Fender Redondo) and couldnt be happier. I told Wyatt that he was as much a reason for my purchase from them as the quality of the guitar and the price. I highly recommend their store.

I personally go with this place for most if not all of my guitar needs. They charge the best deal for maintenance and they have a great selection of PRS, Fender, and Gretsch. Wyatt is the best in the business. Can’t wait to be back as soon as the quarantine lifts, it’s my absolute favorite place.

Ive been a musician all my life, and working with Lane Music has been a wonderful experience! I just made a major investment in a Steinway piano, and their attention to detail and level of customer service is outstanding! I had shopped around at other music stores throughout Tennessee, and Lane Music is the very best!! If they dont have what youre looking for, they are more than willing to try and find something at their other store locations.

Took a guitar to have new pickups installed, nut changed, and locking tuners put in. Wyatt did a great job including working with me to get the set-up just right! The work was top-tier, what Im actually used to with luthiers. Wyatt is now my go-to luthier for all my guitars!The price was quite a bit lower and the turnaround time was much shorter, days rather than months, compared to another local luthier Id taken 3 guitars to in the past.

Ive been here twice now, once around Christmas, when I was desperately looking for a good guitar strap, and now once more when I needed guitar and mandolin strings and remembered how good Lane Music was the first time. Both times, I found exactly what I wanted for reasonable prices from a local business with helpful, friendly, knowledgable staff. I recommend them very highly.

Went there last Sept to rent a violin for my daughter. I relied on their expertise since I had never touched a violin up until that point. Over a year later we swirched to a different instructor who noticed the violin was too big. A whole year later and the violin is still too big. When I took it back the guy measured my daughter and said she should be in a 1/4. I told him they rented me the 1/2 for over a year and that I was upset bc bad habits/stance have developed since the violin was too big. He just asked if I wanted to switch it out for a smaller size. I said no I just want to return it. There was not even an apology or attempt to do anything to compensate for this error on their part. Highly dissatisfied and disappointed.

Was in here for nearly 10 minutes before any worker even came to see what we were there for.... I was looking at baby grand pianos and when Im looking to spend that kind of money I would have thought that they would have been there to help. When they did come over, he didnt even ask about our needs and started showing us pianos that we werent even interested in. Had a good selection just wasnt pleased with service and I expect service when looking at dropping multiple thousands on an investment.

Not very happy. Took my guitar there to have the action lowered and when i got it home it literally was no different. Should have looked at it there but i mistakenly thought we were on the same page.
