Anyone looking the the “right” doc.. Dr. Miller is the best in town!

Amazing, amazing place! Stephanie has been the person that has helped us through our order and I just cannot say enough about her knowledge, patience (my 4 year old was getting glasses), and her customer service. This place is on the other side of where we live but I will happily make the drive because of their care, attention and overall service!

Felt compelled to leave a review. Office staff, SO nice. The eye nurses, I guess theyre called...SO nice. Dr. Gilliland, awesome. My husband and I have had some bad eye Dr experiences in the past, but today was the best experience weve ever had. Im so glad we chose them.

I always hesitated leaving a negative review but I finally feel comfortable doing so. I took my daughter here. Shes never seen an eye Dr before that. They gave us her RX so we went and had her glasses made. She complained she couldnt see with them so I thought maybe it was the prisms they had? We had them checked by their office and the rx was correct. She complained every time she wore them despite the rx the Dr gave her being correct. I told the person who checked them that she says she cannot see with them and he told me to give it time. Well, the complaints didnt stop. So I took her to a different eye Dr for a second opinion telling her nothing about my experience here just so we got a very unbiased result. She doesnt need glasses at all! She has perfect vision. We wasted over $400 on glasses and appointments, going back and forth about the glasses not being correct so wasting lots of time on this and to find out my kid didnt need glasses at all was super frustrating. The Doctor is really nice but Im disappointed we wasted so much money! Unfortunately, I wouldnt suggest them.

I will begin with I do not write reviews, but this experience deserves the time to take out to share how wonderful this place is. I have had issues with my eye going in (like a lazy or cross eye) when I focus all my life, even my best of friends made fun of me. I have been to eye doctors all my life, had to do eye exercises when I was a kid. Well here we are 28 years old and it’s getting worse. I was due for new glasses and came across this place with specialized help with eye rehabilitations! Didn’t know of such a thing!! I knew right then there was hope. Well I went there and the staff are all wonderful! Nice friendly and so comforting when I explained my concern with my eyes she ensured I’m not crazy. That alone was just such a relief-as I’ve literally thought I was my whole life! Then actually being able to have the doctor diagnosis it like give it a name! He has a solution within literally minutes.. With a lens rather than a therapy I couldn’t have been more happy with this. Why hasn’t any doctor done this for me?? I literally can’t thank him enough. This is life changing! Thanks doc! And all the staff at Eyexcel!!!

This place is great very very nice people I would suggest this place to anyone looking for an eye doctor you wont regret it.

This was my first eye exam in 20 years and my first pair of glasses ever. Staff was prompt, friendly, and professional. The doctor answered all of my questions and explained x-rays, photos, etc. in great detail. Very happy with the service I received and highly recommend especially if you arent experienced with buying eyeglasses.

I have been bringing my grandson here for many years and recently my grand daughter. The people that work there r just amazing. They always have a smile and a pleasant attitude.

Just picked up my glasses after being hone over a month.During my visit there everyone was very friendly and helpful. Told me glasses would be bk.7/10 days.After 2wks.i had heard nothing!!!!! I called and was told my prescripton was hard to fill because them being tri focols.I waited another wk. And no call nothing. After a month i called and spoke to office manager and was told they were out of those frames but she could put my prescription in black frames. I ordered tortoise.I ask for my prescripton and she said i would have to pay lab fees if i got it.I was never informed at at anytime on what was going on wth.my glasses!!! Never.Today i picked up my BLACK frames and as i left .3 ladies and dr.West were there and never offered an apology for my long wait or t anything. Very poor service. Will never go bk. Just curious to see if my original frames will come inBrenda PressleyI

Dr. West is excellent, I’ve been going to her for many years and followed her to 4 different offices. She is so sweet and makes you feel like her only patient for the day! The rest of the staff here are very helpful and kind as well; they ordered my favorite Ray Ban frames for me even though they didn’t have them in stock and even adjusted my old glasses a bit so they wouldn’t be as loose until my new ones came in.

Doctor Gilliland as well as his staff immediately put me at ease with their friendly demeanor while patiently and professionally taking every step necessary to provide the care and equipment specific to my case. It was clear that I was in the hands of a team that are masters in their field.

Dr Gilliland was amazing diagnosing my husbands condition. He and his staff were professional and courteous. He took a long time with my husband and gave him a thorough exam. He solved a problem my husband has been having now for 14 months, that no other doctor could figure out. Much thanks to him!!

This is the most thorough eye exam I have ever had! My technician whose name I cant remember was attentive and so friendly. Dr.west is awesome and very knowledgeable. Im so happy I found a great eye practice. They even have eye glasses there and at good prices.

Dr West was very thorough. She explained her concerns and let me know about my options. I’ve never been able to wear contacts because of my astigmatisms. She gave me hope. I look forward to working with her to get custom contacts for my eyes. Very excited!!!

All staff were welcoming and friendly. I was seen promptly and felt the exams were extremely thorough. The office staff took care to explain costs and look at my insurance benefits for contact lenses before I left as well. I would highly recommend this practice.

The doctor and the tech Haley are excellent. We were there Saturday, July 25th, and didn’t get done picking out my glasses until the afternoon. I got home and realized that I paid too much for my glasses. So, I called and tried to cancel it the next business day, right when they first opened. But they said that my lenses are already made. I don’t know how they operate. They must have made my lenses as soon as she placed my order after the fact that they are technically closed. And unless their lab operates on a Sunday. Then that’s understandable. I just thought that the glasses are expensive. I have been to a place where I didn’t have insurance, and charged me way lesser than them. I’ll just take that one customer’s advice- to keep the doctor and go somewhere else to get my glasses made. Lesson learned.

Everyone was so friendly, professional and thorough. I feel like I finally got the most comprehensive exam Ive ever experienced and Im confident my vision will be greatly improved because of their thoroughness. No other place has gotten my prescription just right but just from the contact samples, I know they got it closer than Ive ever had. I couldnt stop smiling all day while I was wearing my contacts because I was amazed at how well I could see through them compared to my previous prescription from another place. Eyexcel will be the only place Ill ever trust for my vision from now on.

I love this office & the staff was courteous from the time I arrived to the time I walked out the doorThe assistant that took me back & checked me in for the Dr it was her 1st time doing that type of work & she was so good at it that I didnt know till the Dr told me. It means a lot when you get great customer service and some places I visit will put a damper on my whole day but when I left their office I left with a smile & I JUST WANT TO THANK ALL THE STAFF FOR SUCJ A GREAT EXPERIENCE

I love the staff at the office. They are extremely good with my 4 year old daughter. The only issue I have is this past Mondays visit (2 days ago) we had to wait like an hour before we got seen

Myself and my Children have all been seen here, and we all LOVE it! My son who has been in glasses for the past 3 years hated going to get his eyes checked, so much so that he would have anxiety about it for weeks. After seeing Dr. Carusone, his fears completely went away and he was actually having fun all while getting his much needed exam. The thoroughness of this office and Doctors is second to none! We wouldn’t go anywhere else after visiting this office!!

Dr. Gilliland is amazing he has been so helpful and always takes the time to ask me how I have been. The staff here is beyond amazing, they are very friendly and if your anything like I am it is hard to make a decision when it comes to finding a pair of glasses that suit you. I asked for help and they were more then happy to help. I love this place and I try to recommend whenever someone ask whos good.

I had a challenge with my prescription following one of my visits to Eye Excel. However, their office manager called to work through the situation. The issue was handled very kindly and professionally, and Dr Green did a great job clearing everything up! Im impressed with their customer service, as they did go above and beyond to make things right.

Dr Carusone is a wonderful doctor! I highly recommend him! He takes the time to make you feel special. He works with you until you get the perfect fit and prescription of contacts. So thankful to have him as my doctor! His staff is amazing too!!

I love this place, the staff are very nice and pleasant to be around..the optometrist (dr. Carusone) is great, he spends time in the room with me and answers my questions and makes sure I understand everything, hes super nice..the check out process is fast . If I need to walk in and get a nose piece on my glasses it doesnt take long at all about 5 minutes. All the staff here are very nice, I would recommend this place to everyone.

My appointment was with Dr Carusone.He was awesome! He was very thorough and patient with me to explain the testing in my exam. The front desk office staff was very quick to greet me in a very friendly smile. They were very helpful in answering my questions in filling out my paperwork. The girl that helped me in picking out my frames took time with me and gave me honest opinions. I will HIGHLY recommend this Optometry office to all my family and friends. Why asking to come at 9am when everyone has to wait...this morning I bet everyone there had 9am appointment and all waiting. This is a “normal” practice these days...like our time isn’t important or more valuable than yours?!? Also if you late 15 min you done...but if have to wait 20min it’s “normal”!

My kids love this place been coming here for years. My kids are wild and never have had an issue here. They are great with all kids and adults.

I never leave bad reviews, but I just want to let everyone know NOT to go here. Saw Dr. Patton with my wife, and he kept bouncing back and forth from one room to another trying to multitask, so dont expect a one-on-one, detailed examination. I was a new patient, so he was trying to find my strength - which he could never find. So, he told me to come back with my old prescription and we would go from there. So, I had to make another trip there and he prescribed me the same thing IN BOTH EYES. I close my right eye and everything is blurry in my left eye. Ive had headaches non-stop. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! I honestly dont see how you can stay in business doing this. My wife also went, and she cant even wear the contacts he prescribed her. He prescribed her with astigmatism, and she doesnt have one, and she gets migraines if she wears them.

They are so great my dad is legally blind and after I took my Dad to 4 other doctors they are the only ones that made my Dad specialty glasses so he can see at least a little and thats more than we ever could have imagined thank you all so much

Great staff and service. Doctors are very efficient and patient. They actually take time to answer questions . Very easy to get appiintments.

My school-aged daughter sees Dr. Carusone for vision therapy. The therapy is individually tailored to each patient based upon a thorough eye exam including assessing tracking of letters and words on a page. The goal is for the eyes to send signals to the brain in conjunction vs. separately. In turn, reading fluency and tracking ability improves. The therapy sessions (twice a week for 10 weeks) run on time and last the full, prescribed time. Her vision therapist has been extremely helpful and consistent. Their hours allow for therapy after normal school hours and even some follow-up appointments on Saturdays if needed. EyeXcel is unique and worth the drive from west Knoxville to north Knoxville.

I have never personally witnessed such an incompetent office staff. My 2nd appointment was scheduled two weeks in advance, the day I arrived I was stopped just before proceeding to see the doctor, the staff claimed my insurance information wasn’t on file and I was required to pay out of pocket to be seen. Unfortunately that day I didn’t have my insurance card on hand and they were unable to locate my info based on my social security number. TWO WEEKS in advance and they failed to notify me to simply bring my insurance card. the doctor I seen at the first appointment was equally unimpressive, I’ve never met a medical professional so indirect and clueless as to isolating my condition. Spare yourself the inconvenience and look elsewhere. I find it highly misunderstanding to think they’ve managed to stay in practice as long as they have.

Just had my first visit with Dr. Gilliland I was welcomed with a friendly staff and was treated with a good experience by Dr. Gilliland he explained everything well to me .

It appears they may have been trying to Double dip insurance and got offended when questioned

I have been coming here for years. I love the attention to detail and excellent customer service they provide.

Dr. Carusone is excellent and I highly recommend him. He resolved my issues, asked a lot of questions and took time to explain everything. Overall, he was very thorough, patient and nice. That said, I did not have a good experience with the eye wear part. My first order came in and the arms on the glasses did not fold flat as they normally would. They re-ordered and the 2nd pair was better but the same issue. So they ordered a different brand for me. Once I left I realized the color was not what I had ordered. After all the time with these orders I decided not to return to correct the color. But, for the cost of these glasses I should get what I ordered. Stick with the eye doctors and get your glasses elsewhere.
