I do a lot of traveling for work, and I always try the local donut places this may be the best Ive ever had. The donuts here are not too sweet in fact not too much of anything. Every other donut Ive ever had has had too much of something whether its toppings, sugar, or bread. These are also by far the best old fashioned type donuts ive ever had, tangy and sweet perfect with coffee which is another thing they do well here, not the best cup ever, but much better than the standard donut shop fair. If I am ever in Knoxville again you can count on my return thank you so much status dough.

11.30.2019 - Nice donut shop off Kingston Pike. Came in for a hot chocolate - $3. Didn’t try the donuts but they were larger than normal Krispy Kreme donuts so that’s exciting. Nice place to come and socialize or catch up with friends. Would definitely come back.

Delicious doughnuts! A little pricy but they’re big and fresh doughnuts, so it’s definitely worth it. I love the raspberry glazed and the original cake doughnuts. Tea options are also yummy!

Crazy. Good. Doughnuts. Some things you should know: doughnuts are made fresh in small batches. Apple fritters are usually the last to go out, so it may be 7:30 am or so before everythings up. Selection changes daily. Hours are set, but they do SELL OUT and CLOSE EARLY if that happens. $21 per dozen, so this isnt an everyday stop, but the quality and taste are so worth it. Check their social accounts for flavors and daily details. Super friendly staff and easy to get to location.

Nice buttermilk donut. Not common in the northeast. Looked and tasted homemade. The chocolate frosting was a little sweet for my taste, but it’s a donut so I’m not gonna make much out of that. My only actual gripe wasn’t about the donut itself but the lack of information about nutritional content. I usually like to know the calorie count of my desserts and since there are 3 kinds of donuts here, I asked which would be the least fattening and the staff couldn’t answer that. I’d have appreciated some information about the food I was eating like we see in most shops these days. Something to consider.

Every time we’re in Knoxville, we always make sure to grab some donuts at Status Dough. My personal favorite is the lemon poppyseed. All of the donuts are amazing! This is a hidden gem.

The Donuts are marvelous! The coffee is average. The customer service was average or below. Its a very quaint spot but nothing that just says WOW. I definitely recommend the donuts though!

So happy Ive found Status Dough, everything has been so scrumptious! The flavoring is top notch. The snickerdoodle is so cakey + fluffy and the sugary outside is just right. They even have the classics at their best from the powdered to the old fashion, these donuts have all of the great things that make donuts so craveable. Perfect recipes, as these donuts even pass the remain fresh and just as good on the next day test. Icings are not overly sweet, the donuts have firm outsides and soft insides, the filling is ample and the donuts even have the right amount of crumble.Also, the staff is welcoming, patient, and informative. The space is quaint, clean and easily accessed. A new favorite has been found. A new goal of mine is to try everything at least once and not gain any weight in the process. Fingers crossed as I have yet to walk out with less than half a dozen donuts... Please hurry in, so I wont eat everything.

I was excited to try these donuts but when I walked into the store it smelled like the fryer oil needed to be changed. The donuts look beautiful but they have a taste of old fryer oil.

Fantastic doughnuts! Went in to try it out on a Saturday morning. Doughnuts are huge and the selection great. Got a dozen (in retrospect, given the size of the doughnuts this was overkill). Coffee was great as well. Loved the Apple fritter, probably the best Ive had. Wife loved the honey glazed. Kinda glad theyre on the other side of town from me or Id be broke and weigh a thousand pounds....

Went to Status Dough today on my work break. Honestly, the best donuts Ive ever had! Service was extremely friendly and efficient and she even gave me an extra donut without me knowing until after payment. Great place, great service!

Our first visit was nothing short of exceptional. Upon entering, we were greeted with an aesthetically pleasing interior, a clear menu, and a beautiful display of donuts. Sometimes, with so many yummy options, it can be hard to know what to choose, so I enjoyed the idea of a suggestion board that showed which drinks and donuts might go well together. Nick ordered the maple bacon donut, to which he spent no time finishing, and I got the strawberry cake donut

I had to do a series of interviews while I was in Knoxville and chose to have them at Status Dough. I could not have picked a better place to spend two days. The staff is beyond friendly and were extremely hospitable. The coffee is fantastic. But what we really really need to be discussing here is this apple fritter. I have eaten apple fritters from apple orchards to original doughnut houses throughout the country and this place had the best I have ever had. Do yourself a favor and stop in!!!! Chef approved

Stopped in this morning for a cup of coffee, and you know, probably a donut! My wife got a honey latte which she enjoyed along with a plain yeast donut. Both of which were good. Normally I would also get a yeast donut, but they had a nice looking cinnamon roll so I thought Id get that with a pumpkin spice chai. Sadly, they were out of the pumpkin spice for the chai so I just settled for a regular chai. Cinnamon roll was good, chai was just a concentrate mix from a cardboard jug. Not a lot of flavor. Id probably stick with a coffee in the future.

I did a donut crawl and hit up Status Dough, Donut Distillery and East Park donuts and coffee. Status Dough wins on two accounts: punniest name and best old-fashioned donut.I love me some old-fashioned donuts. One thing that makes me sad is that most old-fashions are smaller than other donuts. The ones at Status Dough are not. The arent giant, but they are big. Enough to feel like a donut and coffee is a meal rather than a pre-breakfast snack.I tried the coffee flavored old-fashioned donut. It was very good, but I wouldnt have known it was coffee flavored (but definitely not a buttermilk!). It paired well with my maple latte well.This place has space for groups sized 2-6 and plenty of parking. The staff are helpful and friendly.

Did not make the status cut. This is by far not the best donut place to get donuts. A half dozen should not cost 13 bucks. Yes the glaze and old fashion donuts are larger than normal; however, where size comes in taste leaves. The larger rise donut were dry and the old fashion was lacking flavor. The chocolate glaze tasted liked warmed up grocery store canned chocolate icing. The maple bacon had more bacon fat than bacon and the maple frosting overpowered everything. Friendly staff, but very loud inside the store. Also staff was great they put sprinkles on daughters donut. Just not a lot of quality was put into the making of the donut. Need to not make the batch in the morning and expect quality in afternoon. Try doing a morning batch and then a small afternoon one. Can get a better donut at duck donuts down the street.

Status Dough elevates donuts to a whole new level. We were blown away when we took our first bite of their Old Fashioned Donuts - they were out of this world! The dough was so rich and delicious. And their specialty donuts were huge. Wed never seen such a unique variety of donuts - Maple w/Bacon, etc.

Stopped here while driving through town on the interstate for a coffee break and was delighted to find the best donuts I’ve had in a while. Coffee, lemonade, milk, and donuts were all 5 stars. Service was excellent despite our large order. Will be back!

Their coffee and donuts are great. I particularly like the honey glazed yeast donut. Their chocolate glazed ones are a bit too bitter for my taste. The coffee is quite good too. Better than the chains.

I love the atmosphere and donuts here. Very modern and simplistic decor. I am a huge fan of old fashion donuts but when I moved here in 2009, couldn’t find them anywhere! Status dough has amazing old fashion donuts, and cool specialty donuts. My only two complaints are that their frosting and glazes are VERY sweet, to the point it is too much and they are skimpy with the bacon on the maple bacon. Other than those two thing this place is great!

The first time I have ever tasted Status Dough, was at Office max business appreciation day.There were at least 6 to 7 big boxes of Status Dough, and inside each box were a dozen gourmet custom donuts.The Status Dough donuts was so huge, I needed two hands just to pick up one.And once I tasted one Status Dough dessert, I wanted to try them all.Status Dough Donuts was the best fresh gourmet dough I have ever enjoyed as amazing dessert treat

They make the chocolate for their donuts in house. It is a complex dark chocolate ganache that beautifully compliments the sweet dough of the donuts. Their apple fritter had the perfect amount of apple and spices without being overwhelming. They provide a variety of donuts sure to fit any craving.

I’ve been meaning to check out Status Dough ever since I heard they added vegan doughnuts last year. They also have oat milk which is my favorite! If you don’t like oat they also carry almond and coconut milk. I called ahead to do a curbside order. They had both glazed and snickerdoodle vegan doughnuts in stock so we got one of each. I was able to pay over the phone and my order was brought to my car shortly after we arrived. The store is currently only open for curbside pick up. The person that came to my car was wearing a mask and gloves which was greatly appreciated. The doughnuts were perfect. The taste and texture were just like non-vegan doughnuts. While both were delicious, the glazed was definitely our favorite. Thank you, Status Dough, for having vegan options and for taking extra precautions to keep staff and guests safe!! We will definitely be back!

Had a truly great cup of coffee and sampled 2 of their doughnuts, Coffee,and Apple Fritter I think. Both were trash and tasty. Cost is a little higher than some, but on par for what you get. Wife and I are looking forward to our next visit.
