This is my favorite coffee place in town. They have awesome drinks (my favorite is the cold brew lemonade) and baked goods, and the owners are so friendly! Today I went for a chai, which they brew from scratch.

Did you know all the beans are from coffee farms in Brazil? They do a great job roasting to make a solid cup of Joe: earthy and smooth. Pastry was delicious. Espresso drink was nice.Great location with close and easy parking. Casual atmosphere accentuated by the warm owners. Looking forward to coming back for a micro lot pour over.

Some friends and I drove through Knoxville on our way home to Atlanta. We stopped at Capybara because of the high rating it has and we were not disappointed.I got the holiday special- the Candy Cane Mocha. I don’t like my coffee too sweet and this was not at all. It was perfect. I didn’t get anything to eat but my friends tried four different pastries and raves about all of them.

Easily one of the best coffee shops in Knoxville! I moved to another state several months ago and I miss Capybara dearly. The cold brew lemonade was always my go-to, such a unique and surprisingly good drink! I hope I can visit Knoxville soon and stop by. The owners are the kindest people in the world, and I would love to see them again.

When we first visited Capybara I turned to my boyfriend as we first walked up and said, “this is going to be my new coffee shop!” We’re new in town and have tried several of the local shops so far and while each is lovely in their own way there hasn’t been one that made me feel like I needed to go back. Until now! Capybara just feels very homey and comfortable as opposed to the many hipster-esque shops in town (nothing against that at all! Just not always my cup of tea, er, coffee..). The people here are so sweet and inviting and the coffee is amazing!

Extremely friendly, best prices and the best tasting black iced tea with lavender I’ve had yet! Looks very calm and modern inside has a great esthetic vibe to it! Every inch of this coffee shop seems so well thought out!

They are still requiring masks as customers walk in even though there is no mandate in TN or Knox County. They didnt have any masks available either. I drove 20 minutes from west because I heard they had Brazilian coffee but couldnt get it. Definitely wouldnt recommend.

Wonderful! Owners are cool and atmosphere is clean and trendy. We had an excellent Chai. They actually brew their own chai which is incredibly rare. Most places don’t and it’s great. And their blue berry muffin 👌🏼

I think the location is great, especially if you are busy running errands. There is some steep coffee competition in Knoxville. I think they will need to change a few things to compare to other locations. The cappuccino had very little espresso, the small/regular size was smaller than any other small/regular Ive ever gotten for 4+ dollars, and apparently First TN cards are declined at first at this shop (which makes any card holder uncomfortable). May have been the drink I got, but you can tell when somewhere is skimping on quality for price. Will go for the black coffee next time!

I am so glad I stopped in....a recommendation came from someone that I was shopping along side at the Commons. Great stop, I had decaf with a splash of creme; it was excellent. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating; the atmosphere nice and comfortable. The prices were just right. Do drop in!

This is one of the greatest little coffee shops in Knoxville, the owners are so kind and friendly, they will accommodate for any requests you have! The coffee is unique and always fresh, with plenty of options and even some special Brazilian recipes. There are board games and delicious flavored water on tap, the music is tasteful and not too loud at all. The decoration theme is artsy and minimalistic, and their desserts are delicious. They also have Brazilian cheese bread ready in just a few minutes, hot and fresh. Overall, love this spot!

This place is a hidden gem in Knox! It is located in a strip mall by Publix. I absolutely love the ambiance and the coffee is even better. I am very picky about the quality of my coffee and this place has yet to disappoint. The owners are super friendly and knowledgeable about coffee and their products. I highly recommend!

If you want a great latte, this is the place to be. They have a candy cane mocha drink over the holidays which was really good. Their lattes are also good. The staff is super friendly & the service is great. The weird thing (to me) is how lit (full of light not slang) the place is. Most coffee shops are a bit more dim but not this place. Its almost too lit. There is usually plenty of place to sit at. Good place to come hang out but may be too lit to get work done. The location is good because there is plenty of parking but it is also in a location where you have to look for this specific coffee shop. You wont just run into it like other places in town.

Some of Knoxville’s best coffee made by some of Knoxville’s nicest people! Best london fog and best mocha in town and they always have a drink of the month (wild berry latte, German chocolate mocha, etc.). Plus they have Battleship.

Capybara is a locally owned coffeeshop in Knoxville. It’s one of my two favorite coffee shops in town. Their espresso drinks are the best, and the owners are very amicable and open :) My boyfriend and I like to come here for their specials. Would highly recommend it—it’s a hidden gem!

This is the best coffee shop in Knoxville. Unlike many other local coffee shops, everything on their menu is absolutely delicious, and their customer service is always friendly and welcoming. If you don’t see what you want on the menu, Tyler is very helpful in making you exactly what you’re craving. And the owners spend a lot of time working behind the counter, too, which is great to see. Love this place!!

What a great local coffee place. The wonderful smell of Brazilian beans is what drew me in. Its not at all that burnt smell of your regular run of the mill coffee. I asked for the house special and I was presented with a beautiful latte topped with cinnamon. It was so deliciously light that I did not need to add any sugar. And it was just the right temperature I did not have to wait for it to cool down or had it burn my tongue like many others coffee places. This is such a comfortable eclectic local joint I will definitely be back.

Knoxville has two things going for it craft breweries and coffee shops. This is the best coffee in Knoxville. Everyone from the owner to the rest of the staff live up to the spirit of their namesake Capybara. Give them a visit and enjoy anything on their menu.

The folks at Capybara make a consistently good cup of coffee, be it drip or pour-over. The employees are friendly and the atmosphere is good for relaxing or getting some work done. Easily the best coffee on campus and a better value than the competition.

Friendly, fast service and delicious coffee! I’m a picky decaf drinker and it’s next to impossible to find a good decaf. I love that they offer oat, coconut or almond non-dairy milks. I got a decaf latte with oat milk and it was delicious. I will definitely be back to try the pour over.

This is a great new addition to the university commons! The employees are very kind and the drinks are delicious. There is easy parking and plenty of tables to work. Easy to grab a drink to go after grocery shopping!
