If you have a return that you need to make and you originally paid with a card it will take up to 60 SIXTY days to get your refund. They lie to your face and tell you 3 to 5 days. Purchased a very expensive optic for a hunting trip. It was bad out of the box and they didn’t have another as it was a clearance item. I couldn’t even go get another scope to do the trip with as I had already spent the money with academy that I had budgeted. They will lie right to your face and there are several lawsuits against them for their pattern of not issuing refunds and not adhering to their own policy regarding returns. F rating with the BBB. They wonder why Amazon is putting the big box stores out of business. It’s their own fault with their customer service policies. I wouldn’t waste my time to complain about 40-50 dollars but I’m out hundreds of dollars till they decide to actually give me my money back. Terrible company, don’t do business with them. Buy local instead.

Academy is amazing! Dont take this sports store for granted. Here you will find excellent bargains and all ranges of quality of equipment as well as good buys on clearance items. Always something new when you come back so its worth coming back to!

Always love to prowl at Academy. If its sports wear or shoes, grilling to ammo, or fishing to kayaking, they have it all. If not available they will order for you. Better prices & less crowding than Bass Pro. Staff are always friendly & helpful. What more could you ask for.

Went in looking for a specific item. When I asked an employee for help they just pointed down a couple isles and said you might find something thatll work down one if those 2 isles. No offer to help find something or even look something up. This is why more people are shopping on line because customer service is a lost art. And on this past trip to Academy they lost a customer because of the lack of service. You all can do better!

Recently switch from national outdoorbrand-Seattle based to shopping more at Academy. They had Vols Shirts and cap, and I needed a few things for hiking. Store employees were glad to help and very courteous. Great pricing and had a lot of inventory.

They sold me a gun. The gun had no firing pin. They refused to change it out for a working model. Said they could send it back to Taurus and it would take 3-5 months. And they would fix it for free, but I declined. They sell guns without firing pins at full price. They said because we signed something at the time of purchase, it WASNT THEIR FAULT!!!!OMG! REALLY! My mom buys 3-5 guns a year here for self, family, and friends. We will never be back!

Ive only been to this store maybe 6 times, but everyone is helpful and the prices and selection in the hunting and fishing department are very good. Even though is a 30 mile drive for me its worth it.

So I love this store. First of all, you walk in and your taken aback at how huge the place is. Lots of space, lots of merchandise. Clean, neat, organized.I came in looking for a polo or button down shirt for my job. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a plus department. I selected 2 mens polos and 1 plus button down shirt in a lovely green color.I saw the athletic shoes, and had to look.... ended up buying a pair of Nikes.People were pleasant. I will come back.

Bought exactly what I saw on line the night before for the price advertised. Plenty of registers open. In and out in 15 minutes.

In the past customer assistance was above satisfactory. Today I asked 3 employees about where a discounted security safe was. All employees said they were on the floor somewhere and I could go look for them myself because they were too busy. One was a manager. They lost out on a probable sale. I also asked about purchasing some ammo for a firearm that I had originally purchased from them. They said they would not sell me any info unless I purchased another firearm. That was crazy! I left!

Got my entire shopping list! Very helpful in loading my goodies. The women who checked out my items was terrific!

Was not impressed, my journey was for some golf supplies. The selection was very limited, and prices above many competitors. There was plenty of associates around but seemed very disorganized. I was greeted when entering the store but had trouble finding someone to help once inside looking for suggestions.

Too cold in the store, and sales there arent what they used to be. Their regular prices arent as competitive as they were pre-virus either. Overall, a disappointing visit today, but Ill continue to hold hope.

Pretty good selection on most items but the shoe section is a bit unorganized and it can take a while to find the right box that match the shoes on the display.

We were shopping for cold weather gear and found just what we needed. Magellan thermal shirts and pants for both women and men. Thermal socks that I wore today in 36 degree weather for 4 hours. Super cozy! Staff were friendly and helpful.

Stopped at Academy Sports to purchase .22 rifle. Took about 40 minutes to process paperwork but I wasnt the only person that was purchasing firearms so the process was backed up. Also when I was ready to pay, the price that rang up was different from the advertised price. Staff was very helpful and resolved my issue quickly.

The gentleman working in the gun department was very knowledgeable and the prices were as good or better than what you would find online. The reason I gave it a four star was because Academy has failed at negotiating with Nike and other shoe manufacturers for their top in shoe models. With the exception of the LeBron James shoes, which actually look terrible. For many people this is not a big deal, but their selection of shoes reminds me of just 4 feet. A lot of show, but no sought after shoes. I think Payless even has the LeBron’s.

Alec took the time to help me purchase a Kayak, he was also very passionate about helping me. (Very rare now days) Also one of the Female managers (forgot name) was also very helpful at checkout!Great Team you guys have.
