Just to give a more current review. Same old same old. System stopped communicating. They came and installed a $200 LTE communicator and charged $117 installation. Fair enough. At the same time I had the tech help troubleshoot an outside photo beam. Spent approximately 30 minutes. The bill for that 30 minutes....$380 plus tax. I questioned the bill. The local tech said it was correct and the customer service person indicated maybe I should get a service contract. Im sure not going to have anyone come back to look at the communicator. I cant afford a $760/hr technician. Well, I can but why would I.
Called today to cancel my service due to nothing but problems with auto pay and constant nagging calls about my bill being past due, which shouldn’t be an issue since I’m enrolled in auto pay.I have been a customer since 2013, and I was treated like garbage by customer service, and told that I was “disrespectful” to the lady despite simply voicing my disapproval. What happened to the customer is always right?To cancel they were going to assess me a 750$ fee.Stay FAR, FAR away from this bunch of thieves.
I originally signed up with Fleenor. I felt good about using a local company. I recently relocated away from Tennessee and have no need for monitoring at this time. Unfortunately, I was in a 5 year contract that I had completely forgotten about... It cost me $750 to get out of the contract with Protection 1. I will never use or recommend Protection 1.
If you read all the reviews, everyone is on the same page- Fleenor was fantastic and Protection1 is awful. We finally ended our service with them after 3 long years and no one called to tell us our system was offline (when we switched companies and had a new install) for over 24hrs. Since then they have repeatedly called to tell us even though we have told them we no longer need their service. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a monitoring company, this company is terrible!
Overpriced for poor service and bad communication. Charge for every service call even though they wont diagnose any issues over the phone. Hence every problem (even minor ones) generate an onsite visit and additional profit for them. I miss Fleenor. In fact sort reviews by date then scroll down looking for the good reviews, most are dated back before Mike Fleenor sold the company.
I left ADT after I was broken into and they took no responsibility for my loss. the fact the alarm went off as they were leaving after they installed what they said would protect me. I cancelled my contract with a very large fee from them and went to Fleenor. they were awesome and hated when they sold. since then it has been bought and sold a few times, now under the name protection1 service has been become more and more less satisfactory. I have received calls about my alarm up to 20-25 minutes AFTER it was set off. more than just once in the past 6 months. thank goodness it was false alarms. NOW once again I find out it has become an ADT company. Im OUT as of December 31 2018!!!looking forward to a new security company.
This is the WORST!!!! company to deal with. It is next to impossible to get in touch with someone locally You have to call an 800 number and they have to contact the local office for you via email and you never get a call back. They set you up on their system to make automated calls that you get all the time at all hours of the day and night and they say there is nothing they can do about it. Time to spend thousands of dollars to get another system with another company Fleenor made a very poor decision by selling out to this company.
I was originally with Flennors, who gave excellent service. However, Protection 1 is horrible. I will be looking to replace my system. I would rather pay for another installation than give them one more penny for monitoring.
Worst service. A 10 year old could beat the system
I was one of Mikes first residential customers. Its been almost 20 years. Monitoring is invaluable and so quick once an alarm goes off. I recently had to replace my entire panel due to age, I guess. The only issue I have is that the floor load cells should have been re-calibrated at that time, but apparently were not...so I had to have an additional service call last week because the load cells kept alarming during the night when system was set to Stay. It seems to be fixed now and according to my invoice for this additional service call there doesnt seem to be a charge. . Fleenor is fantastic and their personnel are always cordial and helpful. I wouldnt dream of going to any other security firm.
Your company needs to be able to give some kind of pricing for the monthly monitoring service without having to send someone out
The absolute worst Customer Service experience with a company. I manage an account of over $24,500 of service and service work with which was under Fleenor Security. Mr. Fleenor the person and company was great to deal with and did what they said and had an account rep for large accounts. Now under Protection 1, I have to call in to a call center out of state for any changes and they do not under stand my services or how the account was setup since it was moved to them. I often have to call the service center 3-4 times per issue. Under Fleenor I was able to make request with the field tech to request more work, or call my rep for understanding. That does not happen even if its in fellow up notes of the work order. Please note look for other companies, and Fleenor family has reopened an office in Knoxville area, I would call them or someone else just not Protection 1 if you want great service. Protection1 ranks below Comcast and AT&T for Customer Service, WOW. I still dont have a account rep or my service address correct on some of my service locations, due to not having a account rep to work with or even having my accounts reviewed when being moved to the current holding company ADT.
They have done a supper job for us at transmission world . we have used 3 or 4 others other over 25 years. there the best we have seen.
The absolute worst Customer Service experience I have ever had! I called to get pricing and information and the Customer Service Representative was beyond rude and hateful, wouldnt let me finish anything I was trying to say or ask. I will be looking elsewhere.
Ive been doing business with Fleenors for over a year now. They are a great company to work with and Ive especially enjoyed working with Phil.
Service technician called prior to coming over and arrived on time. Very nice and went above and beyond to answer my questions and fix problems.
Ever since Fleenor has been bought out the service has been POOR!
