Tech are great but company has no presence in Knoxville area. Thay want 2 weeks to provide service issues because they send TECHS FROM 75 TO 100 miles away

CPI came to our house today. Our 3 year old and my wife were napping after a rough few days. I was at work. There was no car in driveway, no lights on. They repeatedly rang the door bell and banged on the door. Waking both of them up. Our neighborhood clearly has a sign of no soliciting. I was not thinking about using CPI, and I never will now.

They changed my terms and payment after five months. All of the sudden my invoice was double. They will charge you a month in advance (double) because they want to force you into auto draft. Although I was pleased with the service and installation, changing the terms of your agreement without notice is bad business when you have consistently paid your account on time. I don’t recommend them at all.

Their services are not worth the eventual headache that they caused. Be wary that even if they overcharge you that they have a policy against refunding money. I had to cancel service with them due to a relocation. Due to a clerical error I never received the docusign to cancel the contract. I was to owe 75% of my contact, no problem. They continued charging my account. When I called to cancel they had no issue backdating the cancelation but refused to refund the additional they charged. I would not recommend using them due to the fact that this is a bad business practice. Go with Ring Alarm ($10 a month) or simplisafe.

We just purchased a home in Knoxville that had CPI hardware already installed, so we decided to keep it in place and take over the contract. I traveled from our current residence in Georgia in order to meet with the tech who was scheduled to arrive between 1 and 5 on Saturday. My friend and I were in the home cleaning, and my dog was with me as well. At about 3 p.m. that day, I happened to go out the back door and to my surprise there was a hanger from CPI saying sorry we missed you, and a time of 1:20 p.m. I called immediately and it took over an hour for my call to be answered. I also used the chat option on the internet which took about the same amount of time.When I finally got hold of someone, I was told the tech was already too far away to come back. This tech claimed he waited 1/2 hour. Yet, neither my friend nor I nor my dog heard any knocking, and he never knocked on the actual front door. Also, in my contract it clearly stated that the tech would call me 1/2 hour before arriving. He never did that, either. The system is still not installed, customer service is terrible, and I have been forced to remain in an empty house while waiting for this company to step up and send a person over so that I can leave the home in a secured state. As a new customer, I am appalled and angry. It is clear that if you have an issue with your service on a weekend, you are out of luck. And I am stuck here in an empty house waiting for this company to step up.

Door bell camera malfunctioning and garage door isn’t responding to signals given from app or control panel. I had to call 6 times and request a call back 5 times because it seems all there customers were having issues. The customer service reps have no clue of what they are doing and it seems they are understaffed with technicians as I waited over a hour to speak to one and still didn’t get to do so. The service offered is ridiculous. I was told a technician will fix the problem in 3 weeks as that’s the first available date they have for one to come out so I should continue to pay my bill in full for that month even though I am not receiving the full service.

Two issues:Fire alarms was triggered, house filled with smoke, two dogs at home..nobody was dispatched. No record of the alarma and no system issues detected. hard was to find out if the system is working, Right? then they offered an appointment 1.5 weeks later.2. second issue - Hold times over one hour when we were not able to disable the system from either the app or the console. while we were out of town Customer service rep said she could not help and was rude and then transferred us to a hour long hold time?I have been a customer for over 15 Years and when I need the system to work, there was nothing but disappointment.

Matt was our salesman and five stars doesnt even come close to what he deserves. He was such a honest sincere person. It wasnt come in and get out and sale you everything and empty your bank account. My Granny has had CPI since the first of the year and We love the app and the equipment. Sean done the install and he was great. He helped us set the app up on our phones and explained everything we needed to known.He gave us signs for the yard and recommendations on thing we should add to better protect our home.EVERYONE AT CPI HAS BEEN AWESOME.. Beth made a few house calls to our home and walked us through all the steps. She covered every situation, with her demo security system. We feel very safe with the motion detector, home alarm system, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The best part of the system is the key fob. Not just the convenience of being able to operate the system from your car, but it also serves as a contact device in the event you have a medical emergency in your home. There is always a live person on the other end. If your away from your house and one of their smoke alarms go off, the live operator contacts the homeowners and will call the fire department if they cant reach you. The installation went smoothly and the equipment is free with a short contract. All of this, for a monthly fee thats lower than our pest control! Thank you Beth Bowman and CPI Security!

My husband and I reviewed security systems, and initially chose a different company. We received the system in the mail, and after trying to install it ourselves, decided it was just too complicated. We’d been seeing CPI in TV. We called and spoke to one of your representatives, and were quite impressed. Installation of the system was very prompt. Sean McElroy was our installer, and we cannot say enough good things about him. He called to tell us he was on the way; he surveyed our home and talked to us enough to understand our lifestyle. Then he made suggestions he felt would best serve our needs, and explained why. He did NOT try to talk us into unnecessary items, which was so refreshing and totally appreciated. Danial began with an introduction and walk through.While we thought we had made a good selection of devices, I were advised of some additional options, were explained the cost and never felt as if we were pressured. Even though I am an experienced CPI customer, there were new features that Sean helped me to better understand as well as enhancements to features I was familiar with. I hate four hour windows for services to be arriving -- Sean called and when I asked if he had an approximate arrival time he said whatever worked for me. I was on my way to the house so he said he could meet me at that point in time. He was very professional and extremely helpful in providing information. He was not a pushy salesman that other security companies have -- in fact I needed to run out and I had an additional window that would not have a sensor and he did not add it until I stated I wanted it. At this point in time I would highly recommend CPI to anyone looking for a security company looking out for people and not trying to increase their bottom line only

Based on her review AND my experience with their service while I visited her home, I REALLY wanted their service for my home.I was ecstatic when I learned they were offering services in the surrounding Knoxville area. When I called to inquire, there was never an attempt to up sale me in a pressuring manner. Cedric S. made the entire experience wonderful for me.That being said, you can have an experience ruined by the service/installing personnel that comes to your home.NOTHING made me feel more confident and secure in my decision, to change providers, as having SEAN as my technician. He was very professional, courteous AND most of all PATIENT. I asked a LOT of questions from the moment he stepped from his vehicle. He answered every one and never once made me feel as if I was bothering him or hindering his progress. He offered great insight and made sure that I was comfortable with every aspect of my new system, including the App.As a side note, it was great to hear an employee speak about how wonderful their employer is to their employees.I want to also point out that Ethan came to drop off supplies and because there was a change to his scheduled, STAYED to assist his teammate complete the installation. It was wonderful for me because I had an appointment I needed to get to...he could have just left with the not my job mentality that is so prevalent today. Great team work and WONDERFUL service.

As for the system, we are enjoying having it. It is easy to use, the app is easy to use, the cameras are easy to adjust. I had an appointment setup for this morning. I took time off from work to meet their hours, and had to call 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment to find out they never set up my appointment. The initial setup for my newly developed home was very unorganized. It is hard to say whose fault this is, as the experience with the builder was not very helpful either. Since all of this has occurred, a member of their customer service team has reached out to correct this. Very helpful

I went with this company because of its reputation. But getting set up for my system, I dealt with Sales person Beth Bowman and Install tech Sean. Beth did a great job asking the right questions to help me tailor my package for what I was most concerned about and when Sean showed up to do the install, he was prompt, courteous, and very patient as I changed my mind about placing sensors! Seriously, he did a great job answering my questions, told me about options with no pressure, and then was able to train me using the app on my phone as well as the keypad until I felt comfortable. Highly recommend these two as a team, if you can get them!

CPI has some really good people working for them. We got our security thru Matt Patten at the Home Show in Knoxville. He wasnt in your face trying to make a sale and was so helpful with Xfinity, when I couldnt get past their recorded info. He made sure we were happy with CPI after it was installed. Sean installed our CPI Security, he is a hard worker, cleans up his messes, very sociable and explained with ease how to work our new security system.
