Friendly and Knowledgeable, Kelly made me feel at ease in purchasing my first full suspension bike. Kelly and his staff easily answered all of my questions, and spent the time to properly set me up on a demo before I purchased my Liv Intrigue Advanced. The vibe was chill and relaxed and not stuffy like other shops can be. It felt like a bike shop I could call home. Thanks Kelly and crew!

I just moved to the area and dropped into the shop to get some info about area cycling routes etc. I was greeted by Kelly, the owner, who happened to be in the front working on a bike. He was excited to share his favorite routes and talk shop. He also helped several customers while I was there and the customer service was top notch. Hats off to Kelly and the Echelon crew for building a great local business that serves our community!

Overall friendly and fantastic customer service. Purchased a Giant Talon 2 and they had it ready to go at the time they promised. They didnt try to pressure me into buying anything else however I did purchase a helmet and chain lube while I was there. Even helped me make all the adjustments needed for a comfortable ride before leaving. A+ customer service if you ask me.

Knoxville has an insane amount of bike shops for the size of the local population. And when I was shopping for my first road bike - I visited them all. It was not really hard figuring out which owner I wanted to do business with. There was one who stood out as super knowledgeable - but not super arrogant. There was one who I could tell was the kind of guy who would refuse to sell you a bike that was not right for you in some respect - such as size. There was one guy who did not act defiant or put out that I was looking for something other than what he had in stock right at that moment. There were a bunch of owners of the other stores that were bent on convincing me that the bike I needed was the one that they happen to have for sale right here right now - despite my protestations that I hated Shimano shifting. I decided after all that - Echelon was the place I wanted to do business - so that is where I spend my money.Yeah - they have beer - and it is usually a fun spot to hang out. But there are no crazy cliques there - everyone is welcome. And every once in a while - some dude shows up and makes these insanely awesome pretzel sandwiches for the staff and customers. You will not believe these things! If you are lucky enough to be there on the day they make them - take the time out of your day to sit down and enjoy one. You will not regret it.

By far the best bike shop in East Tennessee. My Mom and I both bought bikes there and had fantastic experiences. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. My Mom was very nervous about getting back on a bike after her several surgeries. They walked her through her options and found a very stable bicycle for her. She rides it at least once a week and loves it. I have a lot of back issues, and have never been able to ride a bike without feeling a lot of pain after five minutes. Echelon Bicycles found the perfect bike for me, and now I bike to school everyday, no problems. When my bike was stolen on campus, they were able to pull up all the information on my bike, including my bikes serial number, to help me find it. All around great place, downright fun to hang out. Only place I would recommend to get a bike.

Been coming to Echelon for all my bike needs since they opened the doors. They are extremely helpful and willing to go the extra mile whether you need to service a bike, rent/buy, looking for parts, or even just asking a simple question. All of my service work has been done quick and correct. Ive made a few stops to the outpost as well and had no problems there either.

Echelon was one of many bike shops I called in Knoxville as I hoped to find some Yakima super cush zipstrips. My request was a tall order and no one in the area had what I needed, but from the time I first called to the time that Jeff from Echelon made a follow up call back, it was nothing short of outstanding customer service. Because of my situation, in that I was in town visiting family and was leaving the next day for the second part of the road trip, Jeff asked where I was headed and the route I was taking so he could provide me a few more shop options on the route down. I leave tomorrow and we probably wont get lucky enough to find the zipstrips anywhere on the way, but the Echelon staff didnt owe me a thing--I hadnt even made it into the shop but they cared so much about customer service that they went way above and beyond to help out. If I ever need anything bike-related in Knoxville, Echelon is where Ill go to in some way repay the kindness I was shown. At the end of the day, I have five other bike shop options to check out on my route, texted to me by Jeff. A shop that treats customers with that level of respect and follow-up deserves continued success and patronage. This review was the least I could do to promote how they do business. The other shops I called in Knoxville were nice and all, but the extra effort and service Echelon provided was unparalleled.

Kelly Hamm and the staff at Echelon Bikes are first class. I drive past many bike shops in order to get their honest, courteous, and knowledgeable service. Highly recommend them. The beer and coffee bar in the shop is pretty cool and unique too.

My husband has been in the shop twice, first to buy a bike and left because the owner was rude and a second time to get a bike repaired and left because staff was rude! If you want verbal abuse & name calling go on in! West Bikes got our biz.

My fiancé and I came into the shop after traveling to Knoxville for the day to ride bikes. We had an issue where our key broke off inside of our bike rack and were hoping they had a replacement. JB was working and he took time to come out and look to see if he could help. Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done for the bike rack, but he helped us take the wheels off our bikes and get them into my car. It was just a great experience. We felt taken care of, even as strangers. If we come back to the area, well definitely return!
