Me and wife bought a 2012 VW CC there in October 2020 after ours broke down completely even though we did not really want a big, long car payment. Within first 2 weeks it broke down leaving us stranded at midnight out in the country. Come find out the bottom hose going from radiator to p0pllppengine was not clamped tightly and pressure blew it off, draining all coolant and automatically shutting the car off. We paid to get it towed and it took 3 days to get it fixed. Next was transmission in early 2021, it started acting up and eventually would not come out of park. Another tow to them and week or so later got car back with a new transmission. Next the serpentine belt broke in Aug 2021, stopping in the middle of a intersection so had to push car to roadside, out of other cars way. It got towed back to Smart Auto and on top of broke belt they found a rocker arm seal leaking. Fixed the belt but they had to make appointment to send car to VW dealer for rocker seal fix. They returned the car to us with rocker arm still leaking as appointment wasnt for a week away. After the belt fix it started not wanting to start, it would turn over but not catch to start. When it did start all warning light on dash would light up and stay on running very rough. So once again its getting towed back to Smart Auto for repairs while being left with no vehicle cause Smart Auto DOES NOT GIVE LOANER CARS while your vehicle is being repaired. So 3 different times in 11 months our car was towed in for repairs. No need to say what kind of trouble that has caused us getting to work, kids to school etc. Yes it has a warranty but that dont help to get places. I wouldnt recommend buying from them cause the car should have been checked better before being put on car lot and putting a price on it. The coolant leak would not have happened if car was inspected good cause tightening a screw down would have kept hose from leaking.

Sales was great super nice and helpful for me into a car I really needed. However the service department was horrible they scuffed my car claiming they didn’t do it when I have photo proof that they did. The car had check engine light come on after 2 days of having it which was fine as long as they fixed which they did but they also messed up the paint on my mirror pretty bad.

I work a busy work schedule on a Wednesday night I filled out a Application just hoping to find someone that would help in my situation of not having a huge down payment and also to have payments that I could afford, I received a text message on Monday morning from a gentleman named Chris and he told me that he was trying to get me approved and that he will remain in touch and if I had any questions to message him back and within another hour or so he told me that he got me approved and a payment that fit within my budget. That afternoon i got off work at 6:30pm and they close at 7 I just wanted to swing by and look at a certain vehicle they had I got there at about 6:50 and went in and we talked about the vehicle and Chris stayed behind and let me test drive it real quick, My wife gets sick when having to deal with financial situations and the car was going to be for her to drive back and forth she told me to just go get something and she would be fine with it and so I found something BUT heres the best part Chris talked me out of getting into that car and told me how better it would be to have my wife come in and make sure it fits right because he didnt want me having buyers remorse so that was a first for me a car salesman that talked me down LOL. On Saturday my wife and I went to the lot and we found a great vehicle so happy I waited and the process was fast and easy and drove off in less than a hour. So with this being said if your looking for a vehicle GO SEE Chris he treated me like a friend and not just another buyer. The salesman was very kind and I did leave with a car of my choice and the overall payments were reasonable. The total cost of the car was very high in comparison to a kelly blue book value but my credit wasn’t good. The car was not detailed at all inside and the body had minor damage from a previous wreck but they weren’t willing to expose that information. They Reported they could pull a car fax but never did and explained they focus more on the inside/functions of the vehicle. The next day after purchasing my car both windshield wipers flew off while driving in the rain because someone didn’t install them correctly. I financed a car and paid it off within the 4 yrs at this location but at that time it had a larger inventory and was a better dealership than it showed during this visit. The inventory is a very slim selection within the Knoxville dealership. Overall it offered me what my credit could offer me but I remember them being so much more organized compared to this more recent visit.

My daughter got her car from this dealer. Her engine went out right at the end of her warranty. They took her car, kept if for ten days and replaced the engine. Then they gave it back to her with no paperwork. Either the parts they used or the work they did was faulty. The car started having the same issues they supposedly fixed a day after they returned the car. Now they are claiming no responsibility and refusing to address the problem. Steer clear of this dealer.

I was with Smart Auto for 2 years. Definitely the worst place to get a car, not only did the car break down within a week of getting It because someone in maintenance messed something up, but they will cut your car off if your a day late on a payment, they tell you they have free towing then never tow your car when you ask, I paid my car note and they didn’t even turn it back on and they were closed by the time I realized they never turned on my car, one of their maintenance guys helped me get into my car when my keys were locked in it and stole $20 out my car. Saddest part that’s not even everything. Must say worst experience ever. RUN AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS YOU CAN!!! Go check out Ted Russell Nissan, they’ll get you a better deal !!

Purchased a car here just a few days ago. I saw one that I liked and contacted them through their website to request more info. Within an hour they had gotten back to me with an approval and loan details. Went to drive the car and sign a few documents and after about 30 minutes I was driving the car home. Everyone was friendly and easy to deal with. Happy with the loan terms and the fact that they report to all of the major credit bureaus.

When I initially got my car I was told I needed to not be picky because I didnt want a car that was leaking when it rained and the passenger seat was soaked. Then when it came time to make my payment a guy named Mike called and said our payment didnt go through when the bank said it did. We brought in a bank statement to prove it to him and he told us that wasnt proof and had to call our bank. Mikes customer service was horrible. He was very rude about the whole thing when we paid our payment.
