We were driving on the interstate and hit a shredded truck tire, which dislodged our heat shield. We needed help right away and everyone in the shop was so nice and helpful and had us on our way again in a few minutes. Turned a bad situation into a minor pit stop; thank you, thank you, thank you! I made a APPOINTMENT with this place to drop my car off and get it diagnosed on Thursday. First of all they did NOT diagnose my car until Friday evening around 5PM and let’s not talk about the fact that I had to call them in order to get an update. I told the lady that I had 2 jobs and really needed an estimate on the when I would get my car back . She told me Monday (today) . It is now Monday ONCE AGAIN I had to call them and check on my car (no one has called me since I dropped my car off and updated me on anything) and she says it won’t be done until tomorrow. Why could they not have called me and told me this ? It was 5pm when I called to check because it near closing. We’re they not gonna say anything ? I completely understand if i randomly dropped my car off, but no I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT and have still been waiting 6 days to get my car. NEVER AGAIN !!!! THEY DIDNT OFFER ANYTHING FOR THE INCONVENIENCE, AND DID NOT APOLOGIZE. IF YOU HAVE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO AND NEED YOUR CAR FIXED QUICKY THIS IS NOT THE PLACE . IF YOU GOT TWO WEEKS TO SPARE THEN GO AHEAD.

My husband was referred to Autoworks after having issues with his vehicle. He also looked online at the reviews which were also good. The vehicle all of a sudden died on him at a red light and wouldnt restart nor jump off. So we had it towed to Autoworks on a Saturday. They didnt get around to working on it till Tuesday which they said it was fixed and we picked it up. less than 24 hrs later it broke down in the same manor on I-40 leaving my husband just barely making it to the side. We were very disappointed in the fact that they charged us a couple hundred dollars and gave us a car back that was clearly not fixed and put my husbands life at risk. We asked for our money back since whatever he replaced did not fix the car the owner raised his voice at us and said, $213 is nothing to me! You can have your money back! We are glad that he is fortunate enough that money is not an issue, but for us and these uncertain times, $213 is a lot to fix a car when the car was never fixed. The car may possibly be a lemon, but the way we were treated by the owner of the company was unacceptable.

Service done in replacing engine was great. The only hiccup was the amount of time quoted to actually received. Do have to note that they were down a tech and having this done in the mist of covid19 shut downs did play a factor in time.

I have been using Autoworks for the last few years and have always been pleased with their service. They are very honest, and tell you what needs to be done and what can wait. Pricing is fair, and they do good work. What more could you want?

After having them work on my vehicles for many years this is what I have found. Their experience will save the folks that use them time and money. This shop has the patience to find the underlying problem in an automobile and not just throw parts at the symptoms. Mainly for this reason this is the only shop I trust to work on my vehicles. Automotive repair on late model vehicles can be complex. They have gone through the measures of keeping up with the technology required to diagnose and repair late model vehicles of all makes. Today many of the late model vehicle components are not plug and play. This shop has the equipment to program most late model replacement parts. I am very satisfied with the work they have done for me. It has been my experience that they work on my vehicles like they were their own or a member of their family. They want to fix things correctly, for the customer to be pleased with the repair and to return in the future.

Careful: The front desk lady was very nice telling me that they would check for a problem why a truck engine stopped. They had no explanation for the stopping, but came up with a $2000 + to do list ( all of which were not sensitive items). When I decided to pick the car up (for now) I was charged $45 to create the list. There was no upfront discussion about a detailed inspection charge and as I got no report or anything other than the questions I gave them, I am not even sure wht the did. I am for sure not going back here. Just be carefull...

Only charge you for what work you asked for, nothing extra like most places say” Oh you had a cracked hose so we changed that too”. IMHO, it looks like the bad reviews come from bad customers. Hate to put the 1 stars in a bubble like that but its true. If youre upset because new warning lights came on in your 1995 CRX after they fixed something else, it might be a sign that you need a new ride - Just saying. Old cars are junked because of that very reason. Don’t go hating on the shop because your ride is a money trap or because they charged $40 for diagnostics. I’m only writing this review because I just referred a friend searching for a good shop, decided to look online at reviews again just for kicks, and saw some crazy mad customers who gave 1 star scathing reviews.. not representative of what these guys are about.Every reasonable customer is typically concerned about 2 main things, cost and quality. These guys hit the mark on both. They’re the most affordable and probably one of the most reliable shops in town.2 years ago, I had a bad AC condenser in a used ridge line I had bought. The Honda dealership quoted me over $1800 and said the condenser part was in Atlanta and would take 2 days to deliver. Called Autoworks, and literally 36 hrs after that call, I had my car back for $752 out the door. AC’s been good every since. I trust these guys.They are a business and as such, they charge money for good work. If you’re looking for a handout, I suggest the homeless shelters downtown. But if your looking for reliable quality work at a very fair price, give these guys a call. To the one star reviewers, It sounds to me like most of your cars are past thier expiration dates. Additionally, if you’re upset about a $50 diagnostic fee, then take it to the dealership and see what they charge for a few hours of their time. Or better yet, YouTube how to do it yourself and give it a try. We pay mechanics because we don’t have the time, skills, and equipment to do it ourselves. These guys do and they’re good at it.Just an honest review from a regular guy who has been there and done that all before.

Superb, cant ask for more honest mechanic anywhere. I been in been living here for 13 years and finally found them. You wont be disappointed in any thing they do. I own a range rover and had my car at range rover for one month and they said I needed a new motor after they had a specialist come from Germany and didnt have a clue. It would of cost me over 20k. I brought to Autoworks and it cost me 500 dollars and havent had a problem since. Oh, also they have been working on my Toyota for 13 years and its been a pleasure doing business with them. As for Stacey, she is one of the best office manager I had have the pleasure to deal with and Rick also. I dont bring my car anywhere else and so should you!

The worst experience Ive had with an auto shop and the rudeness of their office manager Stacey is beyond anything Ive experienced in customer service. Every time I have had my car serviced they have refused to contact me (despite me being the only owner of the car and they were instructed to do so) in regards to my car and performed work on it without my permission and Ive had to bring it back each time to have something fixed. This past time I complained because once again they did something without contacting me and I told them they needed to make a note on the chart that nothing besides the warranty work on the engine was authorized without my consent. Needless to say when I brought it back in today because they had to fix something, I received attitude the minute she found out who I was and once again she refused to call me when my car was done and basically called my dad a liar. I will never recommend this shop to anyone and I hope nothing else goes wrong with the engine since Im stuck with them on the warranty.

CRIMINALLY NEGLIGENT! USE THEIR SERVICES AT YOUR OWN RISK!Vehicle was returned to me without working drivers side seat belt after requesting them to make the car operable after it had been in a wreck. I was not notified of the seat belt being damaged despite three calls from me to check on the status of the car, and the fact it was driven by them to a different location to have the wheels realigned. When climbing into the drivers seat upon returning to retrieve the car I also noticed the passengers side seat belt plugged into the drivers side buckle in order to silence the warning chime. Their staff violated the law in the course of repairing the vehicle, and the manager himself confessed to not wearing a seatbelt. Would absolutely consider filing a police report if possible, unfortunately it would very much be a case of he said-she said.Additionally, after repair to the front left wheel there is now a loud screeching noise from it upon making any right turn more than 15 degrees. Further repairs to my car are necessary from unknown damage caused by them.

I cannot recommend this place enough. I am in Knoxville for an internship, so I usually go to my mechanic at home in Nashville when I need repairs. However, there was a coolant leak that seemed pretty serious, so I did some research, and Auto Works of Knoxville had great reviews while also being less than a mile down the road from my office. I got there right before their lunch break, and just wanted someone to take a look for a minute and see if they could diagnose the problem before I brought it in at a later date to get it properly fixed. Rick came out and lifted up a hose, immediately finding the leak. He then proceeded to call and check if they had a replacement hose, then he drove down there himself to pick it up when they didnt have anyone to bring it over. He fixed it right there in the parking lot, saving me so much time and giving me peace of mind. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a reliable, trustworthy team to work on your vehicle. Thank you, Auto Works of Knoxville!

Extremly rude the receptionist smiled at me while taking my key as i walked out the door i hear her say to the man with glasses she says she needs it by tommorrow but whatever she will get it when its ready! And then charged me 500.00 for brakes and pads! Rip off i do not care what quailty brand they are there is no way a brake job cost 500! Go to Walmart people!

Holy crap these guys are awesome, honest, and work for cheap. They only charge $66 an hour for labor (which is unheard of), if you need any weird type of engine work done that a Pep Boys or Local Tire Shop (my favorite is Fisher Tire) cant do this is where you need to go. Its a little hard to find, because Dutchtown road is kind of all over the place, and the auto shop is in the middle of the business district. They were able to diagnose my problem exactly (I had a bad cylinder, due to a bad fuel injector ) I think this is my new favorite repair place in the Knoxville area. The owner (I guess hes the owner) is fairly nice, and probably just saved me about $2500. (A local competitor PRO TOY was trying to blame it on an ECU without even looking at my spark plugs, and after $700 worth of electrical tape work they said I needed a $2300 ECU, which Toyota of Knoxville said was only $1050, and used ECUs are 25-100$) Anyway PRO TOY was full of crap, because my ECU was completely fine, and they ended up giving me a full refund on my pro electrical tape work, because they failed to even check what I had specifically requested to be checked. An hour later I get a call from Autoworks saying hes found the problem and all the diagnoses/parts/labor was going to be $640 which is LESS than my refund from Pro Toy. I could not be happier right now, I wish I could rate this higher than 3.

Sometimes they get it dead wrong, most of the time theyre doing good work. Expect them to have your car for a bit.
