I was looking for a tire on July 4th, a holiday, and was halfway through a cross country trip. These guys came up with a way to get me home! They had me out of there, with new tires, in record time. Dwight and the team at PepBoys were fantastic. We took my wife”s SUV in due to a one-time temporary brake loss. The team spent several hours inspecting the brake system attempting to get it to reproduce the failure. All components and the system checked out. They could have easily recommended extensive repairs, but they didn’t. It is so great to be able to trust your vehicle repair company. Although they charged me nothing for their inspection time, they have definitely earned my future business once again. I always know I will get an honest answer from this team.

I drove to Knoxville from Michigan for my daughter’s wedding. During my stay near Knoxville my car had a #2 cylinder misfire and I knew it wouldn’t make it back home. I explained my situation and asked if they would replace my coil packs and plugs on a Sunday. Jesse pulled my car in and had it finished in a couple hours. Very impressive as the upper intake has to be removed. Can’t express my gratitude enough!! Thanks guys!!

Have been going here for years and they treat me fairly and always willing to help out and accommodate me when needed. Staff is very friendly and Dwight always tells me only what I really need to have fixed.

To start, please everyone check your receipt and make sure these guys didnt overcharge you, or didnt charge you for work you didnt requestI went to pepboys to put a new starter in my honda civic and made sure to tell them do not check the battery nor the alternator because I was 100% sure it was the starter, yet, they went on and charged me $15,99 for each.forgot to mention that, they wanted to charge me $399 for a starter but I went and bought it on my own at Autozone for only $155 with a lifetime warrenty.and to end this tragedy, I got my car key back and it was totally dammeged, llooked like someone stepped on it or slammed it on the ground,at first they said that it was in that condition when they got it, which wasnt true at all, then they said that honda keys are notorious for braking up and they ended up buy appologizing for thatover all,very bad experience and Id never go back again

I had a flat tire and I had to take my car there at closing time and they were very gracious took my car in and worked on it the next day and replaced all four tires aligned my car and balanced and they were very courteous and very friendly and really great service. Getting tires is very expensive but nowadays you pay pay for what you get and I believe that they have some great tires and great service Im willing to pay that thank you pep boys for all your hard work.

Absurd process and prices. My truck towed there due to a fuel line leak caused by a squirrel chewing through the hose. They charged me $100 for a diagnostic and parroted my own report back to me . Then quoted a base price for the repair of $385 not including parts. My usual mechanic (who is further away) said he would do it for $120. Expensive lesson learned- when you have a choice - never choose pep boys. ***Update*** my mechanic replaced the hose for total cost of $92.

They have usually been the ones to do my oil change. I go there because of the low price but I don’t think they’re very careful. They dissembled the glove box to changer the filter and it doesn’t feel right since they put it back together

I absolutely would have given more stars for the front desk service and prices, but the website lists impressive safety measures and standards due to the pandemic. We returned early and sat in the parking lot just in time to see the tech pull my car around and get out with no mask or gloves on, car windows rolled all the way up. I said something and the front desk did respond well. The lady working with me told someone (the manager, I think) who went to the back to talk to the tech. Then the woman at the front went out and wiped my car down. If we werent in a pandemic I obviously wouldnt have been so upset but they did try to fix it. I saw other techs come in with masks and gloves on, so I mustve just been todays lucky customer? They did seem to address the issue quickly and I do appreciate that.

These people are thieves, took my truck for tires and brakes, they put tires and quoted me $1550 for brakes and rotors ( yes you read it right), when I refused they wouldnt give the keys for my vehicle saying it wasnt safe to drive even though I drove it in with no problem..I had to get a tow truck to get it out and took it to another shop that charged me $600 for the same exact job ...stay away

No longer a parts store, this location is solely tire and auto repair. The retail shop has closed completely. Somehow the parking lot is still a disaster

Took less than or right at an hour for an oil change and tire rotation, which is very reasonable.

I will never ever use them nor refer them and I will let everyone I know not to ever use them. I also plan on filing a complaint if I could give them a negative 0 I would. Situation was I was at a store two seconds away from Pep Boys located by Kroger’s on Cedar Bluff Knoxville. I get out my car I hear a noise it is air coming out of my back driver tire and I can clearly see that omg I have something stuck in it. At this point I still have a pretty good amount of air left in my tire I immediately get back in my car and drive around the corner because thank goodness Pep Boys was close to me. To add yes I have done business there before but I want be back. I get to Pep Boys I go inside I tell the man what is going on he comes out to say yes we can fix it and patch it but nope we want touch it because you need new tires. Ok first off my tires are not bad I still have tread on them and furthermore I just need you to patch and fix it till I can get new tires which have to be ordered because I have rims they are 20 inch and it’s rare someone has the tire in stock so then I ask the man ok do you have a tire in stock well of course he didn’t he said would be next day before. I proceed to ask him ok so your telling me you can’t even patch or plug my tire for temporary until you can get a tire and he absolutely refused. So in turn because he was so busy trying to up charge he was not concerned with anyone’s safety because he was to busy trying to have me buy some tires that I did not need because doing a simple repair that would have solved the problem was not worth his time if he wasn’t making a dollar off someone.In turn I took my vehicle and drove it somewhere else screwdriver still stuck in it and all to get to a location that was willing to help me and told me my tires were just fine and I had still had time on them. Worst experience ever.

I’ve been going to the pep boys on Kingston pike for about 10 years now. It is THE ONLY place I will take any of my vehicles. I always ask for Joe Brooks. He is always professional and to the point. A friend of mine introduced me to him originally and I’ve never taken my vehicles any where else. Joe is great at his job and is very good with people. In the world of auto mechanics, you are always at their mercy and you depend on their honesty and knowledge. I completely trust Joe every time we speak and he has always been able to fix any issue I’ve brought him over the years.

Glad I got a second opinion. Pep Boys quoted me $1900 for a job and “helped” me out with a 10% discount to make it $1700. Got my car fixed for $1000 LESS somewhere else. Tried to charge me $600 for a $100 water pump. I used them in an emergency before to get a headlight replaced. Felt like they overcharged me then too but that was the only place open at the time. Corporate pricing that overcharged the customer.

Richard saved the day! He was great to work with. We were traveling when our alternator stopped working. Everyone around town was closed for the holiday weekend, but Richard went out of his way to help us get in and get the alternator replaced quickly. I would recommend Richard, and Pep Boys, to anyone who needs to have their car repaired.

Ive been going to this Pep Boys shop for a few years now and they always are nice, helpful, and accommodating to my needs. We took our vehicle in for a $46 oil change and ended up leaving paying $180 because they charged us for stuff we never agreed to. I will never go back there and I will be making sure all my friends/family know what a rip off this place is. I know times are tuff due to COVID but this is just plain wrong. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

The management and employees clearly dont communicate with each other. I am a rideshare driver and arrived to pick up some tires which they said they would load, and then didnt know what was going on and told me to load them myself when they finally figured it out. I give things who can get in my vehicle themselves rides, I dont do other peoples jobs for them anymore. Please act like a professional company with the astronomical prices you charge for service, which today was non-existent for me. Please hire a courier like every other auto-repair company in Knoxville. You are lacking professionalism severely here.

I love this place. My bosses mother had a flat on the interstate and I was in charge of changing it and getting it home. Brought it here to get a new one. Well I knew it would be a wait. My bosses mother wasnt as understanding and may have exploded on the very sweet man behind the counter. After me apologizing multiple times and and begging with everything I had, he finally agreed to do it (again) and I can not thank him enough for that. They did a great job and it didnt take as long as expected. Love them!

This was my first experience with these guys and it was great. The shop was clean and organized. The employees were attentive and knowledgeable. I came in for tires, the service manager (Joe I’m assuming) and an employee (Richard) took their time researching the options that would fit my vehicle and made proper recommendations helping me make a decision. They priced the tires for less than they were online and I didn’t even ask them to do that. I 100% recommend and will return for any future automotive needs.

The best place in town to get your vehicle needs taken care of. Joe and Leon are the best at what they do, and it shows. I have tried to beat their price on tires, and Have had no luck. Besides, peace of mind with your vehicle is what counts.

Our Civic was having trouble starting while we were in Knoxville. I have gotten tires at Pep Boys before, so we left the car there. The next day Pep Boys gave us a price of $1300 to repair our starter issue. That sounded high, and we didnt feel the old car was worth putting that much into it. So, we paid them $90 for their estimate, and took the car for a second opinion. The second mechanic repaired it for just $366 ... A THOUSAND DOLLARS LESS!!! Thus, wed recommend taking your car somewhere that gives free estimates, and will not overcharge for the repairs.

If you enjoy being over charged, this is the place for you. After receiving a quote of $1,700 to fix coupling in my power steering system and change my brakes, I took my car for a second opinion. The other shop charged me less than $200 to fix my brakes and told me the coupling was under warranty by the manufacturer. They printed off the sheet showing where the car was covered. This $1,700 bill is now $1,500 cheaper. On top of that, Pep Boys claimed this as a safety issue despite the actual warranty claim and manufacturers statement saying otherwise. Never shop here.

Got two tires put on my car in a little over an hour. Had enough time to walk around the store to see what I needed for my car. They had some really good cleaning stuff for my car that the other stores just dont carry. I was very please. Will be going back to get the other two very soon.

Dont expect to pay the online price for tires and installation. When you get to the store the up charges will start. After taking to the manager I only had to pay $50 more than the online price. With that being said. The service was very fast and I still feel like I got a great deal on the tires. Just wish they wouldve honored the online price for tires and installation.

Ive been to this location for service several times recently. The quality of the mechanical service is as good as I can determine with my limited knowledge, but what really sets this location apart from other locations is the quality of the customer service. Ive worked with multiple customer service reps and all of them have worked to accommodate my schedule, my needs and been respectful of my time. Very pleased with my experiences here.

First off, I would like to say this review is because this is not the first bad experience I have had at this location.Now, about this specific visit today 01/20/2020. I had an oil change and tire rotation appointment scheduled for 11:00am. I arrived approximately 10:50am. I did not receive my keys back until 12:45pm. So if we go from the appt time Im confused how it takes 1 hour and 45 min for an oil change. Yes, I only said for an oil change because even though I requested a tire rotation, from what I can tell it was not done nor was it noted on the receipt.Furthermore, I get in my car and find my glove box had been gone through, papers a mess, and even my sons car rider tag for school tore up.

I bring my wheels in to have new tires mounted and balanced. Always satisfied. Before you by anything in store check on there web site first. They usually have a better deal online, then you just pick it up in store. Its kinda frustrating.

First of all they advertise on their web sight dicontinued tires. So I make an appointment for the next day for 10am got here at 950am they said it would be 1.5 hrs or so. It took them 1hr and twenty minutes just to get it back to the bays to start. Yep 1 hr and 40 minutes to put four tires on but had to wait for another 20 minutes to get in to get a free alignment check. Never again will I do business with pep boys. I recommend you take your business elsewhere also.

Always the last place I would recommend going to, to have vehicle work done. I know a little bit about car repairs and of course they attempted to tell me something was wrong with my car that i knew wasnt.They are also WAY to expensive.

Sometimes good. Sometimes not so good. The best news is if you have a legitimate concern Pep Boys corporate will make this location do what is right. Even if it is something as trivial and ensuring the correct name and address is on the completed paperwork. Good prices on tires and accessories. Usually pretty fast.

Took my truck in for alignment... they got me in fast, called me back in less than 20 minutes said it was done. There report showed it was all within factory specs. Nothing changed just an $89 bill plus a $8.99 shop fee I was not told about. I know most places do a free alignment check. They charged me over $100. Not the kind of place I recomend to a friend.

I traveled from Canada to Knoxville and suddenly had a problem with my car. It wasn’t safe to drive back home and the stress I was enduring was unreal, especially since I had already spent a hefty penny to fix the problem a month prior elsewhere. I called this place and they were able to see my car the day of, an hour before closing. They saw how much I was struggling and were nothing but real and compassionate with me. They never tried to up-sell and actually showed me the problems that were going on. They always called to update me and did the best they could to save me some money. I was able to safely make it back home. If I ever have another problem when I’m in the area, I’ll be sure to go back. Although, I still hope I never have to see them. Thanks again!

Went in for wiper blades and was given a rebate for it (which I have already received and it was easy to file). The cashier when told me I can get them installed with the service department. They did it for free!! No waiting, got right in. I was impressed with the friendly, helpful and quick service.

I bought tires here about a year ago and the service was so outstanding I kept coming back for my routine oil changes and tire rotations. Recently I had been hearing this clicking noise from the front of my car and it had progressively been getting worse over the last few days. So when I went in for my oil change I mentioned it to the service guy (Lee) and asked he have the guys take a look and see what it was. Thank goodness I went in when I did because my left drive axle was about to fly apart. They showed me the axle while my car was on the rack and it looked like it was just barely hanging on. The rubber boot was all ripped up and the mechanic put his hand around the axle and moved it back and forth and I heard that awful clicking noise that had been concerning me for so many days. They replaced my axle, changed the oil and rotated the tires in no time. It only took about an hour. I did some shopping while I was waiting and picked up a nice set of all-weather floor mats for wifes car at a very reasonable price. I like going to Pep Boys for my auto service because they are always friendly and their prices are reasonable. You might pay a little more here, but at least the job will get done right the first time and the little extra you have to pay is well worth the peace of mind. I will keep using Pep Boys as long as Lee is there. Hes always so thorough with the explanation of what my car needs and why it needs it and I trust him. Thanks Lee! Keep up the good work!

This was the first terrible experience at any PepBoys. Ive been a loyal customer over 20 years and today was a disaster.I made an appointment for 4:30 this afternoon for an oil change-arrived early @4 and they took me back right away (woo!). Showed them a coupon for $20 off synthetic oil change. The lady said that would automatically come off the total.Well- I sat there well over an hour. As I was getting ready to approach the counter (my elderly mom was waiting at the airport for me)-They came and got me 5:20 and reviewed air filter and cabin filter and recommended replacing. They said there was no charge for replacing but just for parts. They said I needed brakes too, but I told them I didnt have time. She said it would only take a few minutes to change the filters.Waited another half hour and reappeoached the counter. THREE employees were having a personal conversation no customers (ignoring the fact I was standing there) and I waited for a pause to speak.I asked the lady was there a problem with the Sonata. The lady didnt reply-the guy did and said they were finishing up putting the filters in now and would pull car around in a few minutes. I explained AGAIN I was late and expounded on my elderly mother waiting and could I pay the bill. He prints it and I see-NO COUPON APPLIED (note when I made the appointment I said I was using a coupon AND showed it to them.)- LABOR CHARGES FOR INSTALLING THE FILTERS!!!My bill was $45 higher than expected and the service I received beyond the total apathy of the employees was awful.I said I had a problem with the above and he said he would bring somebody over but just stared off like a lost puppy.I had to go so I was upset, late and ripped off.Zero stars and Ill be contacting corporate in the morning.

Bought a battery a few months back and it died. Tried to take it back the other day to switch it out and basically got told Im sorry but the 2 store locations around here are closing. If you want to have a battery exchange the next closest store that can do it is probably in Nashville or Chattanooga.

Would not recommend to anybody! Very pushy try to upsell you everything and very rude!! We finally left after waiting an hour and a half of them never getting to our vehicle!!

I came in on a Saturday without an appointment when everyone else was closed or fully booked. I had to wait about an hour but they were able to squeeze in a full inspection for the used car that I wanted to buy. They gave me a detailed report over all the things right and wrong with the car, and didnt mince words even when the seller was standing right next to me. They let me know the car needed at least $1600 in repairs and had perhaps serious engine problems. This shop saved me from making a bad purchase and I am very grateful. Thank you!!!

Went in to have tire pressure sensor replaced because pressure is correct and light is on, also an oil change. Told that I have a spring in my tire that Im 100% sure I got from the parking space I backed into. The spaces closest to the service bay were littered with debris. So my fairly new tire I purchased from Pep Boys now has a plug in it. Next I get home a few days later and notice I have oil puddles in my garage. Never had leaks. I check the oil and its twice the level it should be. I go back to the location at 7 pm to ask if they could drain the excess oil before is does something to my engine and continues to drip on my clean garage floor. Im told they wouldnt be able and to return the next day. I am pretty sure you have lost all my business for good.

I got in a pile up on the interstate on my way to the service appointment for tires, and the crew went as far as looking under my car to make sure the rear-ending didnt do any damage to my vehicle. They were so beyond accommodating and sweet. They even held my appointment when they knew I would be late, and went above and beyond just putting tires on my car. I would 10/10 recommend!!!!

Great service! Very friendly staff! I went in without an appointment to get an oil change and they were able to squeeze me in. They also give a free alignment with oil changes. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

I went to pick my car up and my key was locked in a tool box only one tech could access. The tech had left for the day and I was told it would take him 30 minutes to get to the store. It was 7:40pm and they close at 8:00pm. I skipped lunch so I could leave work early and pick up my car. I told the store I wanted to get something to eat and said I’d be back in 30 minutes. The service desk told me they’d be closed at 8:00 and the doors would be locked.So now I’m sitting in their parking lot, 6 months pregnant and starving, because they made a mistake and they won’t stay for 10 minutes when they made me stay 30? Really?

I brought my truck in for the tire rotation and balance. They did that told me about some issues I was not aware of, and they werent pushy about getting them fixed right away. The gentleman who helped me was courteous and friendly and seemed to know what he was talking about. I would go back to them again.

Went there coz need an alignment and they happened to offer coupon on it. They did a pretty quick and tidy job and the precaution recommendations are rather reasonable, though I think Ill sleep on it before commit.Overall job well done.

This is one of the best Pep Boys Ive ever been to. The staff here was friendly and helpful. I had to visit on two separate occasions during the same weekend for flat tires on my trailer. On the second trip it turned out that the problem was more than a flat tire and we needed a mobile trailer repair person to come in and fix it. Staff allowed us to keep the trailer on site and let the work be done in their parking lot. They provided references of people in the area and supported us throughout the entire process of getting to work done and back on the road. I couldnt ask for more friendly and helpful people.

I took a van in I was looking to purchase and had Pep Boys inspect the car before I made my purchase. They told me what it needed to have a safe and reliable transportation for me. I spoke with Service Manager and he gave me a price and told me he could set me an appointment up on Tuesday so I could take advantage of the Senior Discount they offer. I was so please being I am a widow on a fixed income and the 10% I save and I felt like I was taken care of like I was more then just a customer. Thank you Pep Boys helping me when I needed it.

Needed to get new tires after I got a flat, they were able to get me in quickly. They have a waiting room and I was able to leave within an hour. Good service, friendly!Updated Review:I recently spent a lot of money here for things I needed replaced. And then my brakes started to make high pitched sounds every other time I pressed on the breaks. Fortunately it only cost $30 to fix it. But this is the third time theyve forgotten about me in the waiting room. It usually ends up with me walking to the window and seeing my car has been parked and ready to go. It takes me walking up and saying uhm my car is ready? And theyre just like, oh yeah here ya go!

Have always had good service with the manager joe brookes. Him and Dwight Quenga have always taken good care of me on my personal vehicles or company vehicles when I needed any work done.

Very poor management, they got me all sent up them spent next 3 hours waiting for them to tell me they cant get to me !

While our car is beyond repaired the people at pepboy technician and Stephen were beyond helpful. Grateful for their service, diagnosing the problem and adding a new starter.

Horrible service. Had a flat, called before I drive over there to confirm they could do it. Stood in line for 10 minutes waiting for service, then was told they couldnt do it. If they were that busy, they could have told me before I drove all the way there. Never going there again, should show more respect for their customers.
