My daughter in law went to Pep Boys and was treated so well! They didn’t charge her for what they did so I thought I would try them out as well. They told me my noise on my car was due to something that was non essential to the car and just removed it at no charge! So honest and great to work with! I’ll definitely be going back!

Terrible. Tried to take advantage of my wife, then when I brought it up tried to use COVID as an excuse. What? I asked them to check the battery which is free, they did a system check on a 2019 vehicle and tried to charger her, not what we asked for. Battery was bad, they put in a $220 battery and added another install charge there. Basically tried to charger her almost $350 for an oil change and a battery. If I broke down in front of a Pep boys Id still walk somewhere else. I would of thought the days of a mechanic trying to take advantage of a female were in the past. Clearly here it is not. They did take the charges off after I complained but it should be done right the first time. Its called a service department and theirs is trash. Just go somewhere else for an instant oil change and any auto part store where they check your battery and put it in for free.

Awesome service. From scheduling my appointment through the oil change. They didnt do anything they werent hired to do. Explained a few findings the saw but no pressure to upsell. The counter guys were helpful and friendly and the service guy cleaned up when he was done. What was even better was it was less than I was quoted. Cant beat that!

Took my car for an oil change today. They said i also needed to replace the filters, so i had them do that too. Now my air conditioning is making a garbage disposal type noise. Tried to take it back and have them fix whatever it is they broke. They deny doing anything but offered to make another appointment. I declined since their refusal to take responsibility was off putting. Got home and just took a look at the engine to see if anything is off and there was one of my covers laying at the bottom of my engine. Not related to the noise but also not a good look. I would not take your car here. Not worth the extra time and mo ey to get their mistakes fixed.

Girlfriend went in this week for tires and brakes. She said the staff was accommodating and professional. Brook in the service center was helpful and explained what she thought was the best tires. I recommend and gf does as well.

Horrible experience. Tried to sell products not needed. All I needed was one tire was quoted. 1500.00. At least kiss me first. Never go back. Been a loyal customer for at least 8 yrs if not more. Bad call pep boys.

Stay Away!!! Bad experiences with 2 different vehicles in last 5-6 months.1. Bought new tires and alignment for my truck. Picked it up to find alignment was completely out of whack and truck pulled massively to one side. Took it back in and they re-aligned it but said my control arms are bad. Alignment was still off. Took it to a different location and was told control arms were fine and alignment was made close to straight.2. Brought truck in for brake service. Left store and within a few miles, had a catastrophic brake system failure which almost caused me to rear end another vehicle. Immediately took truck back and had to leave it for ~24 hrs. Turns out they broke a piece on my rear caliper and still sent me on my way. Was given a refund on labor but asked to pay for parts.3. Wifes vehicle was in around same time as my truck and got tires and alignment as well. She doesnt drive much and just took it in to her manufacturers dealer for her first oil change. Tire camber and alignment both failed their inspection. This has caused uneven tire wear. She took it back to Pep Boys and was told she needed to do better at maintaining her alignment. Pulled records and she has gone approximately 5k miles. I called this location and the store refused to give me regional managers or corporates number.Do not bring a vehicle here

Went to.pep boys for a couple of things... Online said they would be open for an hour after our arrival but to our surprise the doors was locked. Sign in the door said they should be open & wasnt!! The service department was open...thankfully & we were able to get the tires.

Had a engine put in my truck I had all the parts didnt get my gaskets back that came with the new engine I bought new ones to be put in the engine that was put in but still wanted the others back. Didnt get my new power steering pump. Bolt was loose. Battery terminal loose. My old engine was supposed to be in the back of my truck and I had to go back to get it. They told me it would take 3 days and it took a week everything should have been perfect.but it is not I have leaks that aint fixed I got new parts to fix them leaks

Another terrible experience with Pep Boys. I had a flat tire on way to vacation. I bought previous tires from Pep Boys and no other store could match them.. Cooper Adventurer A/T. Turns out theyre only available at Pep Boys so I called them to schedule replacement. Drove an hour each way, wasted a vacation day to get matching tire but after they installed the tire it didnt match even though staff told me same tread pattern but different name. Once she realized I wasnt leaving until problem was fixed one of my original Cooper Adventurers miraculously was available.. and you guessed it, Adventurer was about $70 less. Last time I went to Pep Boys we had a much worse problem and I should have learned my lesson. STAY AWAY

Extremely fast service. I was shocked but, they did not do a great job putting my battery box and lid back together correctly at all. The lid won’t even shut now. That was disappointing now I have to take it all apart to resolve it. It was nice to get my car back quickly but not at the cost of damaging the equipment.

Worst time ever. They did want change bad battery out for new one . Paid for new battery and when I got in my car the window wipers where messed up . Because he didnt make sure they where back on right. So my husband had to learn how to fix them from utube . To get them back right. Will not be taking my car back .

Weve taken our vehicles mainly to this Pep Boys Location since moving to Knoxville and have always been pleased with the service. They are prompt and professional and the pricing is fair. I have especially appreciated that they never push me into a repair if it is not needed. They lay out all the facts and allow you to make the best decision for your budget. If its a safety issue they will let you know as well and that is helpful to feel like theyve got your safety in mind, not just your wallet.

We were traveling to the great state of Tennessee from Utah, when our air conditioning stopped working in 100 degree humid weather. Johnathan D said it would be 2 hours before before our a/c would be recharged. Johnathan called me 15 minutes later and said it was all done. We are now driving down the road happy and cool! Great place to have your vehicle serviced.Staff is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The manager & his assistant manager are delightful to work with. I ordered my oil online on the 10 with a expected date for pickup of the 12th. I was supposed to receive a email when it was available. I never got the email so I stopped by on the 23rd to check. It was there and had been but they never bothered to send the email. Poor customer service.

The staff was very nice and helpful on the phone and in person. I took two cars in for tire rotation. However the next day, in both cars, the tire pressure lights came on. All tires were around 5 pounds low. Not sure what happened but we had to add air to 8 tires ourselves to get the tire pressure lights off.

Ive received 7 emails asking for me to review my recent tire purchase. Ive unsubscribed all 7 times and yet here we are! So heres my review...Bought the tires on a Monday, scheduled installation for the following Friday. Dropped the car off the night before so they could get it done first thing the next day. When I left the car, the employee checked stock and confirmed they had the tires, however the following morning I received a call letting me know the tires werent there and itd be a week before they would get them in stock. Nevermind the fact that I scheduled the installation nearly a week before. One would think theyd know Im coming and have the tires ready, but anyways.... I get a call the following day saying the tires that werent going to be available till the next week are now in stock. Fast forward, I leave the car with them again, they do what I imagine to be an adequate job of changing the tires and I head back down there for the 4th time to pick up the car only to be berated by a sales guy trying to sell me an alignment, a radiator flush, and some other kinda BS upsell. After declining for what seemed like ages I finally get my car and the new tires I purchased. They are black and round and so far seem to spin just fine.Heres your review, hope you enjoyed it!

Driving from Atlanta to Appalachia kentucky our tire pressure kept getting low. We decided we needed to stay the night near Knoxville and pep boys was the closest open shop on a Sunday. They quickly got our car in, determined it was a problem with the rim not the tire so they put our spare tire on at no charge and advised us on how to get home safely. They could have easily taken advantage of our situation. Instead they were honest, quick and generous.

Great service in a timely manner! I had cv axles done with an alignment and oil change. The store was clean and everyone was helpful. They are one of the only service stores that will use customer provided, new, in the box parts. I just paid for the labor. I will definitely use them again.

I have had good mechanical experience for more than 25 years. No real complaints. Ive purchased around a dozen or more sets of tires for all the vehicles Ive owned and for my sons. Again no dissatisfaction and was treated fairly.If I wanted fast service I paid nominal prices to compete with a ridiculous Dealership bills. If I could wait a couple days and wanted a better price I had a friend do the repair.

We were traveling from Kentucky to Georgia and drove over a bolt in Knoxville, Tennessee and broke down at a gas station. We had AAA put a donut on and we were 20 minutes away and they were going to close in 30 minutes. We called and they let us in 2 minutes before they closed and we thanked them immensely! Visited yesterday because I became stranded in the parking lot due to my car dying. Spoke with the gentleman in service who offered to check my battery for $15.00. I had no money on me. I went inside the retail side to find out how much a new battery was going to cost at which point I found the cost of a new battery but also found out from the gentleman that the service dept is supposed to check the battery at no cost. Upon returning to the service department the same man became upset with the burden of my request finally agreeing to check my battery. Forty five minutes later I was recalled to the service desk and informed my battery was no good. I called my handicapped mother to bring money so I could purchase their new battery. Purchase complete I carried the battery out front and installed it myself since there was no offer for them to install it even though the front windows are clearly littered with signs saying free battery install with purchase. Install complete I was on my way only to notice that my volt gauge on my dash was clearly low, STILL! I returned and asked if they were sure that it was my battery and not my alternator and they assured me the voltage would raise once my alternator charged the battery. Again I leave and after a bit of driving the volt gauge is getting lower and lower. I park the vehicle as to not get stranded somewhere. Upon daylight I drive the vehicle to the closest parts store where they informed me that it isnt my battery and that my problem is that my alternator is going out. I drive to the next closest parts store and again within 5 minutes they have diagnosed the problem as my alternator going out and not producing enough amperage to fully charge the battery. So basically, Pep Boys wanted to sell me a battery and get rid of me instead of helping me truly diagnose and find out what was wrong with my vehicle. I dont have money to replace parts that do not need to be replaced. Now I have a new dead battery, a bad alternator, and no way to get to work or fix my vehicle. Thanks So Much Pep Boys.

Having never visited before, I needed one tire remounted due to a small amount of rust that had formed on the inside of the rim creating a very slow leak. They repaired it at no charge, and I was highly impressed with the service tech ...extremely polite and thorough. I will return for any additional work on my cars.

I am a skeptic when it comes to big box automotive stores however I have had great experiences form this store. I came in on Thanksgiving Eve about an hour before closing and was greeted with enthusiasm and professionalism by Thad. I heard a rattling noise on my car in which I was very concerned but Thad and Cody thoroughly checked the car but could not identify any real concerns which is not typical of these kinds of stores. Usually they would find something real or unreal to charge me for. Thad and Cody are impressive young men who put integrity above all which will lead me back to this store again. I recommend this store!!

I stopped at Pep Boys today at 1:30 for an oil change. I told the lady working that I had to leave by 3 to pick my sister up from school and she said that would be fine. I saw them take my car back to work on it right at 2:40 and I spoke to the man working and asked if it would be ready to go by 3. He got 2 of the mechanics to work on it at once so that I would be able to leave on time to get my sister. Absolutely fantastic customer service. He went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of. I will return.

Very professional. Very nice even at closing time when other places had turned me away. Had a broke belt on the back drivers side tire couldnt go over 50 mph. My car is a rear wheel drive car so this was dangerous for me.Not only did I get my new tire at a good price but I also got roadside assistance for a year. What great people. Wont be going to the other place ever again and had been to two of there stores. They will be getting a bad review.

Tire Light was on in car. Manager was great, explained the computerized nature of the tire pressure and how light would always come on when the weather got colder. explained how to remedy the situation in the future all while the service guy filled tires in a matter of minutes. The place was clean and the guys were polite and helpful, it will definitely be my go to place for my car from now on.

Update: I would return to this location. Unfortunately, I had to return 3 more times. But its not their fault. After my less than stellar experience, the staff was very accommodating and cordial. I returned, they replaced the sensor as agreed and I left. Then the light came back on, and it turned out to be the same sensor. I came back and they replaced it again and it still came back. They then tested the cable and it was fine. After that, they tested both sensors and found they were not giving out the correct voltage. They checked another new one, same issue. They said they should try to get an OEM sensor. I agreed. I returned again and they got it done. Again very nice and professional. I am saddened by a difficult experience, but I do feel it could have been a bad day or decision on their part that first Saturday. Things happen. Every time I have been back I have felt good about every person I have chatted with from pep boys.Original post:After my repair that fixed my initial problem. I noticed a new engine light in my console. I returned to address that with pep boys. They said it was on when I got there. Then they asked the tech and he said he didnt check it. They hooked up the computer and it said a knock sensor, the tech said he did remove it to change the starter. So I asked to make sure it was connected. They needed to put it on a rack.I couldnt stay because of a meeting. I asked can I come back in the morning to get it resolved. They said sure.I come back in the morning and they inform me they are covered up and cant get to me, We have all these appointments. I said, well Im from yesterday, shouldnt my issue that was not my fault be resolved first? They said, and make our appointments wait?They wont be happy. So its better to make me wait then to correct the mistaken they made. I have 1 vehicle. They do not care!So once you pay you are no longer important enough to make sure there job is completed properly. I was told its not like your gonna breakdown because of it. I dont care, I want the sensor put back and operational like it was when I brought it in. It shouldve been done properly the first time. Its not my fault, why do I get pushed off? I was happy until I had this exchange. I understand things happen andsomething could be forgotten. But they check to sell you additional services, why wouldnt they check the alarm already and notice they messed with that sensor and correct before they tell me its ready? But then not to make sure its resolved, after they tell me to come back in the morning, before you start another job is completely unprofessional and not taking care of your customer pep boys.

Good mechanics are hard to find, but so far Ive had good experiences here. Theyre friendly and dont talk down to me. I also like that they dont try to up-sale me or scam me. Theyve checked my battery for free and patched a tire for me. They can busy, but pretty much all repair shops are.

Im very disappointed in Pep Boys particularly in East Town. I bought parts and other stuff before and always pleased. I started to have my car serviced there, the last few times and always make my appointment few days ahead for the last few times, when i get there they would always put me of two to three hours waiting time.They dont keep their appointments. This last time I have to leave, done waited long enough-i have to get my child out of school just because they could never give me an appointment that I needed.Very shabby customer service. Will never come back or do any business.

The only time I visit Pep Boys now is in an emergency. After store on Kingston Pike Knoxville left my lug nuts loose after a tire purchase of 4. One thumb Dave was the manager very unprofessional. My fault the tire changer did not pay attention on lug nut tightening day. Shop at your own risk. If they cant handle tightening lug nuts definitely would not let them do a more difficult job. Unless you like tires leaving the vehicle going down the interstate. Then enjoy the deals at Pep Boys.

Wonderful experience! I had a leaking valve stem that resulted in a flat tire. This was just before they closed and I was a walk in customer. Thad went above and beyond to take care of me. He had a new valve stem installed in less than 10 min! Service like this is what America use to be about and it was nice to see that there are still some businesses out there that put their customers first. It made a positive impression on me and if you take your vehicle to Pep Boys, see Thad. Im sure he will make a good impression on you too.

I brought my car in because I had an electrical problem. They told me they would do an electrical check. After doing their checks they told me theres nothing wrong with it. I drove the car home. The next time I tried to start it it was dead. I called them to find out what they did and how they were going to fix the problem. I was told it could be multiple things and if I could get it started, I could bring it to them and they would charge me again to diagnose the problem again. Now I need to pay for a tow truck to take it somewhere else where, hopefully, they will get it right the first time, but if not, will at least warranty their work. Ill never go to Pep Boys again for anything.

I took my truck in to get new tires that I bought online installed. I made an apt for 4pm and they finished the install at 5:30. I drove 1 mile to get on the highway and as I was going on the on ramp and picking up speed, My truck started vibrating from all 4 tires. It felt like they put oval tires on my truck. Any speed over 40 mph would have been considered extremely dangerous. I took the first exit and then a side road back to pep boys and told them the problem. It was now probably 6pm and they said I would have to wait at least an hour to even get my truck back in the bay, and then the time to balance the tires. I was told it may not be able to get done today. My wife worked until 8 so I had no other choice but to limp my truck home on the back roads until I could bring it back and drop it off. As I was leaving the parking lot on the first day the check engine light came on not pep boys fault. It has been a reoccurring problem, and I decided to let them fix it when I brought it back in. Im 29 highway miles from pep boys and since I took all back roads home it took 1 hr to drive home.After another 1 hr drive back to knoxville, I brought the truck back in and told them that the tires need to be balanced again and that I would like the check engine light fixed. After they rebalanced the tires, they admitted that the guy who did it the day before didnt use the right accessory that was needed to balance my rims. They didnt say anything about the check engine light so I had to ask about it and they said that they reset it for me. I told them that I had previously reset it and told them I wanted the problem fixed and they told me it would be another 1.5 hrs to get my truck back into the shop so they could do a proper diagnostic on it. I was told at this time about the cost of the diagnostic which after all I had been through they should have at least offered it for free. I wasnt going to have any more of my time wasted and told them I would be in shortly to pick up my truck. I was glad to get my truck back in drivable condition minus the check engine light. This is my first and last trip to pep boys and I wouldnt recommend them to anyone. No apologies or sympathy from any of the people I talked to from pep boys.

I saw the mechanic yacking, along with other employees, more than he was working on my car. Waited nearly 2 hrs for an oil change and tire rotation. Staff clearly trained in high pressure sales tactics, but certainly NOT in customer service. The tech didnt even put the valve caps back on my tires! I took my car for other needed services to the Washington Pike Services Center the same week. I received better tires, struts and shocks at a MUCH better price, with lifetime warranty on shocks and struts, at no additional cost! Pep Boys builds in charges for Everything! WPSC is ASE certified Napa store. The Pep Boys staff are so rude, condescending and unreliable, Ill use public transit before using them again. BUYER BEWARE!!

The level of incompetence in this store is mind boggling! I called to see if they could install a receiver hitch on my truck. They said they could get it done pretty quick so i decided to get it done during lunch. I noticed on their website that there was a promo code for 25% off web orders over $100 so I went ahead and bought the hitch and draw bar online and headed to the store. They seemed upset that I used their promo code to save $40. After the run around routine I finally completed the purchase of the parts. They then said it would be $58 to install the hitch and it would take 1.5 hours. I didnt have time to wait so I just took the parts with me. I completed the installation of the hitch at home in less than 30 minutes.I like the parts and I like the promo code saving me $$$, but I will certainly never go to this store again. The installation time and cost was obviously inflated in order to take advantage of someone who didnt know how easily the hitch could be installed. The only other possibility is that their mechanics are so incompetent that it really does take 1.5 hours to install it.I dont normally do reviews but I just couldnt let this one go.

This place blows my mind after being subjected to the customer service experience at Reeder Chevrolet. Not only are there expedient appointments available, but the guy who works the service desk is ALWAYS in a pleasant mood and suggests money saving alternatives to the things I need done on my Chevy Colorado.That brings me to wait time. I settled in for the typical hour-plus wait for my oil change, rotation, and minor maintenance. Imagine my surprise when less than twenty minutes later, they were finished with everything. And at a fraction of the dealer cost. Never going back to Reeder again!

I used to go to the one in Miami so when I moved up here I started to come to this one. And I wasnt disappointed, I have seen both managers, retail and service, go out of their way to make sure any problem the customer has is taken care of to the customers satisfaction. And with their price match guarantee, I know I will never pay more than the other local places.
