This place highly advertises, buy here pay here, affordable down payments and weekly payments, able to work with any income, etc. Its all bs, dont waste your time. I inquired about a 10 year old car, they ran my credit, which they also advertise they wont do for in house financing, I have a trade in, totally paid off, I was the told I would need $2000 Down plus my car for a $9000 car, or a cosigner. Hello! If I could afford that or had a cosigner, I would go to a reputable dealership! No thank you Clayton Autos, I think I will look elsewhere! Thanks for wasting my time.

EVERYONE SHOULD STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! My wife and I bought a van from here, we sure thought we got a good vehicle. Not even 24 hours after we bought the van the check engine light came on, we reported this to Doug, the salesman whom sold us this van, Doug then had us bring the van back so he can hook his machine to it. Doug tells us it is the O2 sensors or the catalytic converters needed to be replaced, to take the van get it priced and he would try to pay 20% of the cost (20% after he sold us the junk!) We then took the van to get it priced the O2 sensors and catalytic converters were going to cost $2000.00. We took the van for a second opinion and the catalytic converters were fine, but the O2 did in fact need to be replaced.. we paid $325 to have the O2 sensors replaced, because we had to drive over 1000 miles to visit family and obviously have a big family of our own (the reason we bought the van) now remember, we paid $8000.00 for this van, we have just put $325 into it, not including the $400 for tires before our trip.. (we knew we were going to need tires though) we get to NY and what happens? The van starts puttering THE DAY BEFORE WE ANTICIPATE to come home! This being Thanksgiving weekend NO Garage is open in the town we are from. We go to Auto Zone, they hook it to a machine that looked like an ipad, and pulled up 19 codes on this van!! YES I said 19 codes! Talk about a SLAP TO THE FACE!! So, LUCKILY my Father -N-Law knows a man that OWNS a garage and he calls this man and he was kind enough NOT ONLY TO OPEN HIS GARAGE FOR US, but to fix the van for us in time for us to get back home.. he couldn’t believe the codes he pulled up! He in fact pulled up 21 codes! He asked us if the van had ever been in a flood, if anyone has ever messed with the wiring (we let him know that we had just bought it, so we didn’t know) we did a car fax and it had been in a small fender bender, but “had been fixed” here we pay OVER $500 to have all the coil packs, spark plugs, wires done to get back home. We make it to KY and the van then starts to sputter again, the TVs in the van turn off, will not work! So we get home and go to the dealership, they then tell us to they will talk to their manager to see if they can fix the vehicle since we had already had to put this money into it already.. I talk to the manager Luke whom said he was the highest manager in the company, explained all of the above to him, he tells us that he had to pull service records to email them to his owner so they can make a decision as to whether or not they will fix the van. (I TOLD MY WIFE FROM THIS POINT THAT THIS COMPANY WAS GOING TO BLAME THE ISSUES ON THE MECHANICS THAT FIXED THE VAN) well, guess what! They told us we could bring it in so they could look at it and what did they tell us? They told us they the O2 sensors were put on incorrectly and it was running bad because it had a vacuum leak from improperly replacing the intake when they replaced the coil packs.. I took it to the mechanic here in TN and let them know that this car lot’s manager said his mechanics said they didn’t put the O2 sensors on correctly.. They laughed and said if anyone knows ANYTHING about a vehicle, you ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT put O2 sensors in wrong, they screw in just like spark plugs.. he rechecked just to appease us and showed us in fact. Guess what? There was not one thing wrong with the installation of the O2 sensors. They THEN told us the van had a cracked head that when we take it to the car lot to let them know the job was done correctly that it did not have a vacuum leak, it had a cracked head.. I then let Luke know after going back and fourth for months, we bought the van on 09/13/19 and on December 28th Luke finally got permission to bring the van in to “fix” it.. it ran okay for a couple months and guess what? The van stops on the interstate and is now having a new engine put in it due to A CRACKED HEAD, they had so much rigged on this van from coolant hoses with homemade coolant piping and electrical tape, transmission shift cable, and wiring harness. CROOKS!

My advice to any whom seek to purchase a vehicle....look elsewhere. The vehicles on their lot are repaired with a quick fix so they may be pawned off on the buyer to do the repairs. If you are concerned with safety, please be informed that they are not. Not only are they void of compassion for your familys safety but they are rude and uncaring when their actions are called to attention. So all in all with their lack of customer service skills and shoddy vehicle quality; I would advise anyone to not even take a test drive or they may hold you responsible and leave you stranded when the vehicle breaks down.

You pay here for any vehicle you buy from Clayton.. I like the lot of Claytons to buy a car down the road better, not as pushy.

In November 2018 we bought a 2009 Ford Edge. Within the first week it didn’t want to go when I pushed the gas. We called them and we were told to bring it in. We took the car and left it with them. Couple days later they called and said it’s fixed. When we picked it up we were told “ it was just low on transmission fluid” when we drove it home it seemed fined. Then the car set for a good month or so due to a medical problem, but when it was driven again it didn’t want to accelerate. We stopped and checked the transmission fluid and it was low so we topped it off and thought it was fine. Then the very next day same thing. Our neighbor works at Lance Cunningham Ford so he said to bring it by and we did. That’s when we found out the drivers side axle seal was broken. They suggested a local transmission shop. We took the vehicle there and the right axle had to be replaced. Then when it was driven it was discovered that didn’t completely fix the problem. There was an internal problem with the transmission. We absolutely couldn’t afford the fix at the time so they offered to work with us and allow us to make payments. Now, the kicker is that if the seal on the axle was fixed in the beginning the damage may not have occurred. We have made every payment on time since day one and have put 2,000 in reapairs so far and at this time still owe 2,400. On Friday April 5th 2019 we went to Vantage and asked if they could put the amount owed into our loan and we were told we needed to go to CC’s where we bought the car because the manager there has to approve and write it up. We went over to the lot and the mgr wasn’t there so we left a msg for him asking him to call. He called later that evening and I explained everything to him and the first thing he says is “ why would you take your car somewhere and let someone fix if you can’t pay for it?” And I tried to get him to understand that is not what happened and that the shop was working with us. Then he says he will have to talk to them tomorrow if they are open if not it would be Monday. On Monday afternoon I hadn’t heard from him so I called and he stated that he had been to the shop and knew we we’re making a payment and wanted us to call and let him know what the remainder due would be and that it would take a couple of days to get approval. After we went to the transmission shop we went to the car lot and gave them copies of all the paperwork of everything that had been completed and everything we had pd so far.So today is Friday April 12th and we haven’t heard anything. I called and was informed the mgr wasn’t in now but would be back after lunch. I left a detailed message as to why I was calling and still I haven’t heard anything. I wasn’t asking anyone to pay for the work all I was asking was for it to be added to the loan so that the car could be driven. I will update if there is any additional information.

Worst place ever, true this place claims to be a buy here pay here but they still run your credit. On top of that the falsely advertise the amount the amount to place down. I was looking at a 2007 Acura TL with 160,000. Their advertisement was 700 down and 70 a week. I went on 4/1/17 with 1500.00 to place down on the vehicle (down payment plus a few payments). On top of all of this we sat at this location with the salesman Josh and waited from 12pm-5:30pm, he stated that his manager was at a funeral but not to worry that he would call me back on Saturday or Sunday at t he latest... Guess what ??? No phone call. I called today 4/8/17 at 11:45am and got another salesman... he said he would have Josh call me back in 10 minutes.. Guess who never called? Josh. I Just called back at 4:29pm and Josh answered, I explained who I am and he says ohhh I left you a message... I explained to him that he was lying and that I have no voicemail to leave a message. He then apologizes for lying and says well I need 3,000.00 down to get you in that car... excuse me???? Your advertisement says 700 where do you get 3,000.00.... also the vehicle is only worth 3,500.00 in good condition... which that vehicle is not... the AC didnt even work... These people are owned by Clayton Used Car.... I will be going to the better business bureau and filing a complaint... they made 3 inquiries to my credit and I am now down another 40 points... STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE... you will get screwed and a junk vehicle to boot

I remember when I bought a car on a joint buy with an ex I see alot of bad reports on here, just want to put this out there, one you get what you pay for second they are fair and reasonable and will work with you name a place in Knoxville Tennessee that u can walk in with less then $1000 and drive off the lot with a nice car yes all used car will have issues that is a fact !!!!! And 95% of the bad review on here are most likely due to most people not making there payments and trying to slander there name for a cheaper deal or are just butt hurt cause they couldnt hold there end of the deal, they will work with you on no or bad credit they are friendly as long as your nice to them, on my job if ur nice to me Im nice to you be rude to me and I refuse service, there people just like everyone else and honestly I plan on going up there to look at some deals around the 22nd cant tell me otherwise prices are fair low weekly or bi weekly payments they give you a temp tag go to the DMV to get your tag or take the sales agreement to the DMV I noticed someone on the review stated they mailed it to the wrong place twice who gets a temporary tag mailed??!!! But for anyone looking for a good deal at a low price get what you pay for go there its not as bad as most these haters are making it sound to be yeah when I and a ex got an infinity i30 2000 model they was honest and upfront about everything and when me and my ex was fighting over it and I wanted to sign off the car they manager was very respectful and even came to my job at the hotel to have me fill out the paperwork they did me right and fair and it built my credit up for the payments name a car company to go the extra mile ? I can assure you not a damn one !!!

Horrible place to buy a car! 2 days after buying the car the radiator hose blew off, then had trouble with the car and took it back to them and charged me $900 to fix it, then a week later messed up again and charged me $200 to fix it and just brought it home and its still doing the same thing and noticed all my loose change I had in the car is gone except the pennies. Very bad place to go! Would not recommend it! Taking my car somewhere else to get fixed, will not be dealing with them anymore! They want to take all the money you have! Just found out my car needs a new water pump and head gasket and its going to cost $1500 to get it fixed. So be very cautious when buying a car from here!

They sold me a 2004 nissan murano I told them in the test drive I think something is wrong with the transmission they say we wont sell you anything tore up so we will send it to be checked two days later they have me come pick it up with SUPPOSEDLY a clean bill of health, one week later the transmission went out so thats 5,000 out of pocket then the alternator went out another 300$ then the radiator another 200$ then the catalytic converter needed to be changed so that is 500$ and now it needs an oxygen sensor and the air conditioner seal replaced so I dont know how much more thats gonna cost the bushings are bad in the front passenger tire so this vehicle isnt worth the down payment more less the grand total they are charging me and because it kept breaking down i lost my job. Stay away from these criminals

I wouldnt even give this place a 1 star if I didnt have to . This is a shady car lot. We bought our 06 jeep commander from them and within two weeks the transmission blew. And they wouldnt stand behind their vehicle. So we paid for the new transmission, well few days later our 4wd quit working and our throttle position sensor went out. They still wouldnt help at all. Well now the radiator is busted . They are a terrible place to get a vehicle from I would advise anyone and everyone to stay away. They band aid cars up just to sell . And will tell you if you have any issues at all they will help and thats a LIE they are nothing more than scam artists and liars.

They will sale u are car that will blow up or has a blown head . Then put a cheep junky motor in it and not even put all back together .. And charge u 25.000 $ more .. I was just looking at the reviews and I havent purchased a car from this place. However, I noticed on one of the reviews the name Shane came up but the owner said they didnt have a worker by that name and it could be from another car lot. Now I did get a car from C&C motors and the man in charge there his name is Shane and he is crooked as heck...wished I never gave them my money and they will not work with you for crap and I have had several people that have said they wont ever purchase from C&C motors because of their experiences.

Ive bought two cars off these guys some people have to remember youre not buying a brand new car your buying a used car and may have issues but thats why youre buying a used car so if you want a good fair price for used car try these guys that work with you and if you do have problems with it if you just leave it with them they will get it right
