The breakfast sandwiches are excellent. Even with a shortage of time on my end, they still got a sandwich made for me before I miss the train. I would highly recommend giving them a try if you never have

Great Harvest Bread Co is my most favorite place they have amazing tasting breads Desserts on the face of the planet, I buy my fresh milled wheat flour for all my cooking baking. The Kirkwood store across from the train station has great customer service. Its a 5 Star place to enjoy for all your breads goodies they also have a nice lunch menu. So many wonderful breads to choose, healthy and treats! Love love the power bars. Get the dinner rolls for holidays. Employees are friendly and helpful and patient. Its a great place to get bread of all kinds.

Lately Ive been craving a dark crusty rustic loaf of dense yummy bread with fruit and nuts. I live in Kirkwood and came across the Great Harvest Bread Company. Hands down the BEST bakery Ive encountered in a long time!! Ahhhhh....the bread. I got exactly the round loaf I was looking for--a dark and lovely crisp outer crust, dense and soft inside with cherries and walnuts. To...die...for, lol--but seriously. A lot of times you go into bakeries and everything looks good but then you get it home and taste it and its dry and stale. At Great Harvest their bread was soooo good, and we got chocolate chip oatmeal cookies that were delicious, soft, and chewy. Pumpkin chocolate chip muffins that were divine!! and cinnamon rolls that my daughter said were the best shes ever had. 5 Stars for Great Harvest, plus the owner was super nice and very accommodating. Kind friendly service is always the icing on the cake. We will be regular customers from here on out. And can I just say one more time....Ahhhhh....the bread. Manna from Heaven.

We usually stop by at least once a week and always have great experiences. This last week, they gave my granddaughter the best surprise ever: a teddy bear made of bread! My granddaughter was in awe and ate the delicious bread for days. Thanks Great Harvest!

I want to pick up my 9:00 a.m. order this morning only to be told that it wouldnt be ready for several hours. In addition, one type of bread I ordered I had to replace as it wasnt being offered today. Poor customer service as they knew my order wasnt ready and let me drive all the way there anyway. The manager stated it was the best he could do.

EXCELLENT fresh breads! Chill atmosphere. You can tell they have regulars because they looked totally surprised when I walked in, but welcoming just the same. I ordered a #1 on a cheese herb biscuit and that was possible the best breakfast sandwich Ive had in a LONG time! And i am quite picky about my breakfast sandwiches/eggs. DELICIOUS! Will definitely return (on a cheat day:)

Great bakery. I had the pecan roll. It wasnt too sweet like I feared and the roll was sticky and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was welcoming and homely. The coffee was good but nothing to write home about.

I always have a great bread experience here. Theyggive you huge free samples of the different types of breads and 90% of the time it is so amazing! The other 10%, while I might not be a fan, some one else in my party is. They serve sandwiches, but I have never bothered to try one. The bread is good enough to eat plain or with a little bit of butter.

Manager Paul is a delightful person. Homemade bread is amazing. My coffee group comes here every Wednesday and thoroughly enjoys the food, ambiance and prices.

But with that taste, who really cares what theyre made of; theyre delicious.Kirkwood is definitely a hidden gem, it has the small-town feel right next to the big city.

Slow service for just bowl of soup and slice of bread. Potato soup real did not have much of taste, but bread good. Need to arrange tables for more seating.

A very pleasant place to have a sandwich and a cup of coffee. Old building with pressed tin ceiling and wooden floors. Cozy and relaxing atmosphere. You should get your bread here, too.

Everything they bake is Amazing! We got sandwiches in the morning to take with us on the train for lunch. We wound up having them as our first rest stop on the Katy Trail thru ride. Yumo- what a treat!

We live within walking distance, but choose to drive to the Maplewood location every week due to the service. We have been treated rudely just about every time we have visited, usually by the owner. The bread is good, but not worth the headache.

I highly recommend trying the vegetarian sandwich. It changes very few months and I have never been disappointed.Dillion cookies might be the best chocolate chip cookie I have eaten from somewhere that isnt a traditional bakery.Make sure you get a sample of the pumpkin chocolate chip bread. I know what you are thinking but trust me! It is pretty amazing.I also love how cold they keep the water and soda in the cooler. Some places keep it slightly cold but this place keeps it very cold.

This place is simply the best. I have not bought one thing that I wouldnt buy again. Their bread is to die for. If youre out on a Saturday morning or early afternoon stop by. I have nothing but good words for this place.

Okay so I am biased as I am obsessed with the oatmeal cookies. I can walk to downtown Kirkwood from my office and about once a week I find myself unable to concentrate as I have an oatmeal cookie craving. Far be it from me to ignore my cravings. Yes, the breads are great and the atmosphere is soooo Kirkwood but its the cookies that call my name. I went through withdrawls when the previous owners closed their shop but a couple years later the new owners opened on Argonne and my cravings were once again satisfied. I like this location and service much better and hope everyone visits so they never close again!
