Really sad business, try and help by buying from local businesses, even if they are online, and it is not worth it. I have ordered coffee several times from my super automatic espresso machine and syrups also. I have received syrups wet and sticky in the box and no one really cares at customer service. Two times I have made large orders and one twelve ounce bag is out of stock, although they show it as able to order, and so they hold the entire order and do not communicate with you. Five to seven days after I have sent order I am contacting them to find out why it has not shipped, their answer every time is XYZ is out of stock and hopefully will be in on (INSERT FAKE DATE) but that is only an estimate. When we have it we will ship your whole order. Thanks for you patience. No, not thanks for my patience I am going to be out of coffee in a couple days and I planned accordingly and ordered with plenty of time but your staff does not care. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN. STAY CLEAREDIT FOR BUSINESS REPLY: Passive aggressive does not work for customer service, I have enough money thank you I do not need a gift card and nothing will bring me back. In the future, maybe try reaching out and contacting the customer to find out about their experiences before assuming you are wonderful and they are wrong.

They shipped an expensive coffee maker to us through an Amazon online order. The shipping box was fine, but the product box had huge gash in the side like it was hit by a forklift blade. The product was obviously damaged but they shipped it anyway and wasted my time and countless greenhouse gases, because I had to turn around and send it right back. It was a very frustrating and trust destroying experience.

Your customer service told me that my problem was someone elses problem.2. Your response to this review shows you arent friendly and dont care about customer satisfaction.3. I paid over $600 for an item and I find it weird you dont offer insurance for high priced items.4. Your mailer of choice(DHL) lied and said they tried to deliver the item the day before it was stolen, but that is false because I was in and out doing laundry all day.5. The mailer also the following day signed for the package they dropped off. Which is very concerning since neither me or my husband signed for it and it was just left at our door and stolen within a few mins after being delivered.6. We now feel violated and have put up security cameras due to this incident.7. After complaining all you offered was a $60 gift card...8. There is no point in calling their help line because they just hang up on you and their online chat is a nightmare.9.Stating random numbers with no link to show evidence that they are true, is pretty much worthless.10. Another item was stolen from us the same day. It was from Amazon thankfully and they have already shipped out a replacement. This was delivered few hours before receiving the product from SCG.

Don’t be fooled by the glossy new location, web reviews and discounted prices. I thought it would be a great idea to support a local small business but you should avoid this one at all costs. Seattle Coffee Gear has horrible customer service. Once you place an order, they leverage a 20% restocking fee and other policies, to prevent/penalize/delay you from taking your business elsewhere. As soon as you complete an online order, you are caught in a web of indifference, poorly designed (intentional?) phone routing, unmonitored live chat, and the ever present “once it leaves the warehouse it is out of my hands.”When you call customer support and get pass the suggestions to use email or chat, you hear hold music for a few minutes before you are hung up on by the system (multiple occurrences over 2 days). After waiting 32 minutes to get a live chat conversation started, the rep was indifferent and only increased my frustration without resolving any issues. Seattle Coffee Gear should put more effort into providing customer service instead of creating policies that support indifference and poor customer service of employees.I have requested an RMA to return the device that is still not delivered. I will avoid 20% restocking fee, if customer support ever replies to the email and will be responsible for the free shipping (undisclosed) handling (undisclosed) and more wasted time.I found the same machine at the local Best Buy and it was available for pickup within hour. Best Buy was slightly more costly but when you factor in the restocking fee, over $175, I feel stuck in this web of poor customer service. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of Seattle Coffee Gear. We bought a semi-automatic Saeco here about 18m ago. We absolutely love it. The daily yummy espresso is such a treat in our household! I literally just got off the phone with Edgar who walked me through a problem I was having with the machine this morning. Customer service is on point. The response from all employees has amazed us; in store and online/phone. Their coffee recommendations are spot on also. We will always continue to patronize this business!

I am ecstatic that they decided to open a new store near in my neighborhood.The main attraction at SCG is their amazing selection of home (and semi-pro) espresso machines. We went in half an hour before closing and they were already cleaning up with strong smelling stuff. They didnt have what we were looking for (it was on the website and we wanted to see it before buying), and did not feel that they were listening to our questions. Really disappointing. We were looking for a pair of 6-cup stove-top coffee makers...wanted to touch and feel before we began using them every day. We also were shopping for grinders but became overwhelmed with the selection. We drove over there from Seattle...I guess we figured that we would find all things coffee there.

Recently dropped off my espresso machine for servicing at the Bellevue location. For the most part, it was a negative experience. A staff member just looked at me and then walked as I struggled to open the while carrying a 40lb plus espresso machine. She just looked and simply walked away. She was rude and discourteous as I asked questions about servicing expectations. Another staff member had to step in to take care of things.Similar experience when it come to pick up the machine. Little to no help offered to my wife with placing the machine in the original box and helping transport it to the car.Each interaction was like they were doing us favour. At least the staff at the servicing center was polite, professional and courteous. That the only reason I’m giving this 2 stars. If it wasn’t for them I would have given a rating of 1 star.Simply cannot recommend the Bellevue location.

Arrogant and amateur...I emailed SCG the week before my order to confirm shipping, but got no reply... eventually I placed an order, checked out, I received an order confirmation, payment was collected/taken from my account. The item in question was a coffee tamper handle, and because they couldnt supply the bsse, I went away and sourced it from an Australian supplier... Its a relatively rare item, so I had to order from around the world to get it. I felt confident in doing so because SCG had processed my payment and confirmed my order... Some time later, I got an email from SCG to say that they dont do international trade and were going to cancel my order... I immediately responded, pleading not to cancel, otherwise the second part of my purchase would be useless and would cost me a small fortune. I wanted to find an alternative way to manage the order. They ignored my email and subsequently refunded me and stopped my order. Now I have a half tamper arriving that I cannot return which has cost me too much money... The refund I received from Seattle Coffee Gear was not the full amount that they charged my account. Their attitude to me was arrogant, rude and dismissive. They blamed me for not reading some small print burried on their site and didnt seem to care that their store was set up to collect payments and orders internationally or otherwise... I can understand when shops make mistakes, have issues with systems etc. But from what I gather, they were aware of this flaw in their system and carried on trading that way regardless. To me, that is pure incompetence. The communication from them was curt, impersonal and dismissive. Avoid them at all costs.

I had been looking for a new automatic espresso machine for several months. I tried several machines in stores and looked at lots of reviews on line, many of which were pretty worthless. They had great reviews and the lowest price I have seen on the coffee maker I purchased. The service was great and I received my machine very quickly. I bought my burr grinder here. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. This place has the largest selection of expresso makers I have seen and they have an interesting assortment of roasted beans. The location is not great if you need to park your car...the small lot is shared by other businesses and there are not many stalls.

We love the new coffee maker. We had a hard time coming to terms with spending $250 on a new coffee maker, but the videos on the products were very helpful in our decision making. Our order arrived much sooner than expected and in perfect condition. The price was the best we could find and with no shipping or tax (for us) plus all the free goodies they sent, it wound up being a really good deal. Everything was/is great!

Never been to the store, but it was recommended by my son, who lives in Seattle. I have ordered a coffee maker and twice ordered coffee, and it always amazes me that the quality of the coffee is so far superior to anything I have tried. Our current favorite is the Equador blend. It says espresso, but dont let that keep you from trying it. Wonderfully flavorful and not the least bit bitter. Wish they had trial packages to include in orders to try others. Im not too adventuresome, but willing to try if its in front of me. Keep up the great customer service. Im always impressed with how professional they are.

I am a coffee person. (Worked in specialty coffee for 4+ years). Started going to the Bellevue store and meet the different folks. They are awesome. Val is a mainstay and she knows her stuff. I bought a rocket espresso machine and grinder set up and get a monthly delivery of espresso. All I can say is if you love really good coffee and your interested in exploring it, this is the place. Come and taste a bunch if different roasters, get coffee brewing equipment and of course a multitude of espresso machine equipment. This place rocks!

Equipment was sent in a timely fashion and in good shape. It works very well. A $150 gift certificate came with an expensive purchase. Use it ASAP as it expires in 3 months. I did not see that in the fine print so it is my fault but the early expiration was definitely a surprise and not typical in my experience. They have no interest in any compromise as it was clear to them. Next time I’ll buy through William Sonoma as their service and discounts are things they stand by. So much for emphasizing a long term relationship. Disappointing more than anything.

SCG is THE place to buy coffee equipment. Their videos on just about every product and aspect of coffee preparation are instructive and entertaining. Customer service is fantastic. After my 14 year old espresso machine died, I viewed a number of equipment review videos and I was still undecided on how to replace my machine and affordable upgrade my coffee drink quality so I called to get some advice. They suggested the one machine I hadnt looked at that met all my needs. I have been extremely pleased with the new espresso machine / grinder which has significantly upgraded my morning coffee quality. I was in a hurry to replace my aged machine and opted to pay for shipping (rather than the somewhat slower free version.) Shipping was fast (FedEx) and their tracking and notification is among the best I have seen from online retailers.

I purchased a Saeco Aroma espresso machine for my daughter and her husband as a house warming gift. I wasnt exactly sure what to buy and I did spend several days doing some research. I kept coming back to the Seattle Coffee Gear website because they offered the best pricing and also the best explanations of the espresso machines they sell.I had the machine shipped to my daughters new home in Bend, OR. I placed the order online on Tuesday afternoon. On Thursday (same week) I received a text message and picture of the new espresso machine sitting on their kitchen counter. I did not pay for express shipping! I really couldnt believe it! When my own machine no longer functions this is where I will buy a new one. Great service!!!

We purchased the entry level Baratza Encore Grinder, GR11. It was wonderfully packed, came quickly and does the job we want. I bought the Crossland CC1 machine around two and a half years ago. From day one I had problems. At first when I contacted Seattle Coffee Gear I was brushed aside as being ignorant about machines. Unfortunately, I believed them, and dealt with the issues which was essentially the machine not acting like an espresso machine. Lack of pressure which would fluctuate without changing the grind/settings/tamping. After I was so fed up with the issue, I contacted the owner first telling him my problem. He at first offered to fix the issue for free and seemed to know what the problems were. Then after weeks of no answers where to send the machine to Bill, I contacted Seattle Coffee Gear in attempts to have them get his attention and make him follow through with his promise. More weeks went by without any results. Finally, after constantly calling and asking for managers, they offered to do a fix up for free; however, I had to pay for the shipping which was around $120. What was ridiculous was that the support manager indicated a machine would only last around 2-3 years, which I thought was crappy considering my friends who run their own coffee shop said that was pure bull. So it seemed they were making an excuse for Bills terribly unreliable product--and I meticulously clean my machine constantly. So I sent it in, and they kept it for quite a while with no updates on what they were doing or what was wrong. Then I received an email indicating it was on its way back with again no answers of what they did. When I finally got it back with no paperwork on what they did. Yet, I did notice much more power in the steam wand (and pressure) and for only a short while did it actually work like it was supposed to. Now only after 5 months or so, the steam has little to no power, the machine constantly is choked no matter what I do, and is pulling terrible shots. AVOID THIS PRODUCT AT ALL COSTS. Get a reputable brand that has been around for a while especially since the owner is seemingly being given special defense by Seattle Coffee Gear! I will not be buying my next machine from Seattle Coffee Gear either! Find another company as their customer service is terrible if you deal with them out of state!

Easy enough to buy anything off the web from a company. what sets SCG apart is the massive amount of demo and instructional videos they post on YouTube. i buy big pieces from them because they deserve the sale. you can watch multiple reviews of anything they sell. this is online customer service in my opinion, keep up the great videos.

Ive had such good experiences with Seattle Coffee Gear! I ordered one type of espresso machine, but decided to change what I got, and they caught the order right before it shipped and did the exchange with no hassle... the customer service department was so understanding. Then I accidently ordered the wrong canister for our coffee (although their site could possible make it clearer there are two sizes), and they gladly exchanged it for me, and saved me the shipping due to them feeling the customer service representative I talked to could have made it clearer what to order to hold one pound of coffee. I could NOT be happier....and will keep ordering from them...and am trying two of their espressos now after having a hard time finding what we need in Phoenix.

I purchased a Rancilio Sylvia, a Rocky, and assorted items from Seattle Coffee Gear last month. The service was great and the prices competitive with the best prices I could find. They packed everything well and shipped promptly. Their advice has been helpful and accurate.

I stopped buying overpriced coffee house lattes about 8 years ago and since then I have owned about 4 different espresso machines - each one just a little better than the last. I have gone to the Seattle Coffee Gear website on multiple occasions for guidance on various things. These people are great. The site has lots of hints and tips videos that have been very helpful (and even entertaining).I ordered some items from them just recently and received exactly what I ordered in a timely manner.Highly recommend.

They are helpful and friendly. We didnt want to spend a bunch of money and they never made us feel that we needed to. They demoed the machine we were interested in. Went home with a great machine.

Ordered our new espresso machine online - easy process and fast (free!) shipping. They were the only place to have the machine we wanted (Breville Oracle) in stock, had helpful information on site about the espresso maker (and machines we were comparing it to) and included useful free accessories. Hope to be able to visit someday but the online experience is fantastic already!

Very cool machines, So many to choose from!I enjoy the coffee samples and now have a little more knowledge about the different machines & how it works ! I just buy one and will be back for another for my mother!

I was blown away by thier customer service. Even though I could not order a machine from them -due to overseas shipping issues- they passed me on to a store in Korea that could help. The products I did order are phenomenal. The video tutorials on the items I bought were very helpful.
