Every time I’ve come here it’s amazing customer service, initial eye test was laid back and the gentleman was making me laugh the whole time. The selection on frames is phenomenal and not just that but I’ve broken my glasses twice. First time I was surprised at the incredible affordable rate he charged me to fix them and this second time he had a extra set of frames lying around and didn’t charge me. I would highly recommend this place. It’s been my goto place for a little over a year now and I have no plans of changing it up!
Had to comment after reading the negative comments. Maybe theres been a change in staff since those were written, but I had the opposite experience. Took my two year old after looking around for a place that would take our insurance. Guy was so good with kids, he could work at Seattle Childrens if he wanted. Nice guy in general too. Daughter was uncooperative for a minute but staff dealt with it fantastically, better than anywhere else Ive been (thinking hair salons, etc.).
This place needs to be out off business for sureOn the phone promise one think in office some news or another thinkPeople need honesty and good information about them health
Last year I took my son in for an appointment and the doctor was really nice, but there is a guys they that is really rude and sarcastic. I called to ask questions and he treated me like if I was stupid. When I was there for my sons appointment the guys was talking bad about other customers and I didn’t like that. It’s fast service but the bad thing is the customer service. Wouldn’t recomendable anyone going here.
Not resolved peoples problem no sure why
Not child friendly- would NOT recommend for kids!
It has been years since I and my entire family got our glasses and contacts thru colonial optical, but TO THIS DAY, my mother and I both still talk about how amazing this place is! How well they treated us, how amazing it was to find such a homely optical business in a growing suburb such as Kikrland. How we wished out current optical clinic could ever live up to Colonial Optical! We moved states and had to find a new optomistrist, and we miss you guys! During our time in Kirkland, my mother adopted 3 children in our extended family who needed help, and Colonial Optical gave us a deal on the childrens glasses, when it was never asked for or mentioned by my mother. The little girl we adopted was nearly 12 years old and had never had glasses before. They basically gave us her glasses for free. That story still makes my mom tear up, no joke. The service was amazing, from the head optrician, to the owner, to the woman who helped me put on my first pair of contacts, to the technicians and cashiers, this place deserves more than 5 stars. Hats off to you, Colonial Optical, I still have the free glasses cleaning spray you gave me, and still use it to this day! I wish I had more bottles. Thank you for your compassion, understanding, humor, and amazing service.
My glasses were stolen at work and they were able to fit me in with a last min appointment! My new glasses turned out fantastically!
Seems an infrequent issue but showed up for an appointment as scheduled and they had no record of it or my insurance info I had provided already. However, they were still able to see me at that time and order glasses. Asked for the cheapest ones and found some I liked. It was first thing in the morning and no other clients there so staff was attentive and very friendly. Optometrist was not rushed and was very patient with me 4 yo asking a dozen questions during the exam. I dont need glasses except for driving and only ordered new ones because I lost the last pair. I would certainly go back now that they have my prescription and info available. I dont think the scheduling issue happens every time.
So far, mixed review.I called and made an appointment, also asking questions about fee for contact (my ins doesnt cover this portion), an old Groupon credit I never used etc. Was very pleased. Showed up for appointment and.......zero record of me anywhere. Very awkward and slightly off-putting attitude from staff. Ok, no worries, when can we reschedule? Came back next day for appointment. Still feel a standoffish vibe, but all went smooth. Loved the Dr., Her exam put me at ease. Ive needed glasses for 25 yrs but never wore them, so I had a lot of anxiety about how bad my eyesight might be. She was very thorough and great. So pick out glasses. Four trays were placed on a counter and staff walked away. No explanation, no assistance, no suggestions. Nothing. I picked a pair. Only then was the cost my insurance didnt cover disclosed. I was measured or did something for contacts at the start of my appointment, and no mention of it. It was very clearly discussed when making the appointment. Today, it was now yet another appointment I need because no time or preparedness today.I will stick it out, get my glasses, get my contact lens fitting and i have a Groupon I want to use for a second pair of glasses. After that, unless friendliness of service and clarity of explanation of procedure, costs, etc improves greatly, I do not think I will continue with Colonial for a provider long term.
Polite and very quick and easy to work with.
