We drove all the way out to the store based off of posted hours only to find it closed. The only day open for walk-ins is Saturday (per the note on the door). We figured we would just park and get a taco next door while we were there. We got our kids out of the car and started to walk over only to have what I would presume would be the comic book store owner come out and rudely tell us we couldnt park in his totally empty parking lot. My husband attempted to see if he might open since he was there only to be told they are only open for walk-ins on Saturday. Very rude customer service. We will definitely not be going back.
I was looking for very specific NES hardware and the guy took the time to thoroughly check through their storage in the summer heat to get me what I needed, even threw in some extras for free! Fantastic service and the hardware was in great working condition!
It was closed! Said it was open til 5 on their website, but when I went there, it was closed because they went to a convention! At the very least, update store hours online so I dont find out its closed when I get there, jeez!
Wouldnt know what the place is like, as its closed, and only purchasing by appointment. would be nice of theyd update their site with this info so people didnt drive for miles and miles to discover this via a sign taped on the door.
Solid selection prices were a little higher but nothing crazy
Ive been going there for a couple years & stop at their booth at some cons. Tyson & his crew is awesome. They do give some wiggle room on prices, if reasonable & frequent buyer. havent been here since Covid-19. Hope they are still hanging in there. Stay Safe everyone!
Tried to purchase from this guy. Apparently asking him politely if thats his best price is a trigger. He then raised the price on the comic. I asked him if he raised the price and he ignored me. I asked him why hes ignoring me, why he cant answer me etc etc, didnt matter. They dont care and they dont need you as customers. Tried working with them, theyre not interested, item is still for sale. I found one cheaper.
Cool place! Thank you Jeff!
Terrible customer service! I didnt buy anything from them. The white bald dude is so rude!
The owner or his employee (not sure which) is angry and rude. Don’t waste your time if you care about customer service.
Wouldnt go here and expect to be treated politely.
I stopped in here a week ago to check out some comic books. I am a big comic collector. The owner opens the door quickly and asks if I have an appointment. I say no and then he goes on to tell me that he isn’t letting people into his store until phase Three. I totally get it but as he is saying this I see three other people walking around going through books without masks.
I came across this place by looking at reviews on Yelp and a Transformers website. Both sites had some mixed reviews and some reviews went as far as stating that this is the worst store around. Despite this, I decided to check it out anyway and had a phenomenal experience! This store was a collectors paradise that included everything from vintage figures, video games to current product/collectibles at a very reasonable price. Customer service was outstanding in every way. They had no problem stopping what they were doing behind the register to come and help you. The employee that was working called the owners to answer every question I had and was even willing to get prices on items for me that werent even on the floor! Again, outstanding customer service! Not only did I find the exact sealed Transformers I had been looking for, but I also picked up a few nostalgic pieces at a very fair price. I checked eBay to see what kind of deal I got and found out it was around $40-60 cheaper than eBay and some of those were opened. Insane deals!!!In short, its a great store and if you are turned off by reviews you see online, swing by and let your experience show you how amazing this place is. I will definitely be back!
Man who owned the shop was very rude and in a hurry to turn away me and my son. Saying you can’t come in unless you want something specific. How am I suppose to know we never been there. His attitude was poor and these days you should be seeing customers as gold. I don’t see his shop lasting much longer.
Really nice place with tons of great retro toys and video games
My husband and I have been coming here for months. Usually we stop in the comic shop first and then head over to the taco truck. Recently my husband was about to walk into the store and I was walking over to the taco truck and the owner (I assume) stormed out of the store and yelled and asked if I was coming into the store or to the truck because he has a problem with people parking in his lot. They have a good selection but prices are high and they won’t barter with you. Will not be going back here.
Arguably the best selection of back issues in the Seattle area. This guy knows his stuff, if he doesn’t have something try back in like a month and chances are it will be there. If you want to see comics that you won’t see anywhere besides a convention check this place out.
Tyler keeps the best comics in stock. They always keep the video game inventory stocked with classic titles, as well as titles attractive to collectors which is greatly appreciated! I play a ton of games, and sometimes I needed a good suggestion, and theyve never let me down. I always leave Amazing Heroes happy!
Horrible people own this place. Parked in their parking lot so my husband could use the store next door. In less then three minutes the store clerk was outside yelling at me through my window that I had to leave. No wonder their parking lot was empty.... was on their website before all this happened to see if they carried anything I was interested in as it is the X-mas season. Would not spend a dime in there store and CANNOT WAIT to see them out of business.
UPDATE: Turns out this place wasn’t as good as I thought it was. They sold me a defective game and claimed it was perfectly fine. I wanted to test out the game on my Game Boy to prove to them that it wasn’t working right, but they insisted that they use their console. I wasted my day on this infuriating game that they claim was working fine.ORIGINAL REVIEW: An okay place for old video games, and a lackluster place for comics. I once brought a stack of over 100+ comics in a while back when they were in their old store. It consisted of a lot of old Marvel and DC comics. The cashier took a glance at the comic on the top of the pile and said he’d give me $3.00 for it all. Not kidding. Go ahead and buy from them all you want, but NEVER trade in anything with them. They’ll scam you big time!
Nice collection but yeah seemed like some gruff service. They were watching my son pretty closely which seemed a little over the top for me. We stayed out of each others way and had a good experience, and got what we thought was a pretty good deals. Maybe the owners would be put at ease by some better stop loss program? Maybe put the register near the door or vice-versa?
Overall okay experience. The price is decent the area and environment is really good. Not always a pleasant experience thou. Multiple people run the store one of them (the owner?) seems kinda bossy. He refused to test out the game before I purchasing, saying “it’s guaranteed to work if not u have two day warranty”. At some point he even tried to grab the game from my hand and put it back. I never heard a store has two day warranty and not letting customer double check. I am not saying the experience is always bad. Just keep in mind if that one guy is taking care of the store u need to stay low and “babysit” him to get basic service u deserve in other stores.
Very nasty owner. Thinks hes a big tough guy when hes just a keyboard warrior. Likes to harass buyers for leaving him anything less than positive feedback. You leave him a neutral feedback on ebay and he harasses you. Avoid this nut job!
Website said sold funko, but when drove out of my way to visit they said havent sold for years. Update website.
Not a bad game/comic store. Theres other stores I prefer over this one but due to its proximity I try to go here as much as possible. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices.
Huge selection of comics. Not a lot of space to put them. Seemed a little in organized.
Great place, nice selection of graded comics. Would love to see some older comic cards is shops.
Want to buy classic video games or comics? This place is amazing. There are a couple oldschool video game shops on the east side, but this is the ONLY place that ever has anything worth the drive. I love this shop!
Good comics store, but they stopped selling used video games so Im no longer finding myself with any reason to shop there. Friendly staff though, and theyve got this one girl working there thats freaking gorgeous.
Horrible owner. How is this place still open? Just shut it down.
Phenomenal selection of vintage/new toys and video games - the best store of its kind Ive seen in the area. I had a great interaction with the stores owner. He went through a bin of toys in back to find a few my wife and I were looking for, made us a fair offer, then spoke to us for a solid 45 minutes after we made our purchases about comics.Im surprised to see such negative reviews of the customer service - my experience was the complete opposite. The owner went out of his way to find things I was interested in, all without making me feel pressured.I highly recommend this place to anyone who collects toys and games.
Great store lots of comics, games, and toys. They have a nice selection of vintage Star Wars figures too. Prices are reasonable. Place feels really quiet with that awkward comic store vibe, but they have cool stuff so thats what matters.
I go here a lot and I cant complain. They have a good selection of retro action figures, new figures, trades, single issues, and old video games. It feels like home away from home! Are you going to get the same price as you would online? No, but I like supporting the business. The people there are friendly and remember my name every time I go in and always have suggestions for new series I might want to try. Its a good place all around.
Very well-organized store with great deals in comics. They also have a large selection of old video games and new and old toys. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Has more comic book stock than is in the store so be sure to have wantlists ready.
Cool place lots of older books and back issues
They have not updated thier photos and webiste... they dont NOT carry any video games or anything else... just comic books.
I have been to this store many times, and it is my go to place for collectibles, toys and video games. I usually stay in the low to mid range prices and there is plenty to choose from.In the past I feel the owner had occasionally been gruff towards me, and seemed otherwise occupied.Since moving to a bigger location, and getting more help, they have been helpful and friendly to me and my 9 yr old son. There arent that many stores like this and I am thankful to have this place available to me.
Place is small but has cool stuff. They buy peoples collectibles and have cool things that arent in regular stores anymore.
Was planning to come visit this place but seeing how the responded to some of their customers critic, I can better predict this store isnt a friendly place to come. Lucky for me, there are plenty other stores that would welcome me.
Had lots of cool collectables and comics, but lacking in a range of comics for younger readers. Staff member who was there was more interested in building their toys behind the counter than serving customers. In fact, he even said to another customer who asked to see something in a cabinet that he would only do it when he was checking out, the fewest trips back and forth is best! Lol... a quirky place indeed.
Huge selection, but very limited space causes quite a bit of confusion when trying to find something specific. Still nice to browse through.
One of the worst service. Not only is the owner very rude and is not very inclusive of other business.
Fun little store that has a pretty darn good selection. I got Resident Evil 2 for N64 here! It should be noted that there is no point in visiting when they go to a show or expo. They take all the inventory worth looking at to the shows/expos. Sakura Con, ComiCon, PAX, ETC make it not worth visiting during those times.
Fun to browse and helpful people behind the counter who know their stuff. Check out the vertical bin of replica old comics and posters. Cant help myself!
Wanted to get a Taco next door and then shop comic books. But grumpy comic guy had a hard time with parking in his lot (nobody there....). The guy doesnt get how businesses work together and they all win (make money). Awesome Tacos, skipped the comic book store.
This place is hit or miss. They have a good selection of games, comics and toys. I have gone in here a couple of times and the owner has been nice to me twice and rude to me once. I agree with the other reviewer their prices are a mixed bag. Their trade in values just suck. I brought in a like new psp with box and charger and the owners wife offer me $15 for it and wouldnt budge on the price. I declined and then sold it on eBay for $80. I havent been in the store since.
Ive been collecting video games and comics from stores locally available to me for a while and the selection of both at Amazing Heroes has continually overwhelmed me. There is a wide selection of games for the more popular consoles and a good amount for some of the obscure ones as well. The quality of some items has impressed me greatly and I have never received a item that was faulty without knowing about its flaws before hand. A small detail that I like about the store is that the pricing stickers are small, never placed on labels, and are easy to clean off, unlike some stores that use large stickers that leave a lot of residue behind. On occasion the store does get very busy making it difficult to get service. However when they are not overwhelmed the people here are very knowledgeable and helpful in finding or discussing details about items. With the pricing of many items being competitive and generally lower than what I find in other stores Ill continue coming back to add to my collections.
Great service, owner very friendly and knowledgeable.
Good local shop with plenty of selection. Especially with comics.
This place will tickle your nostalgic bone either because you’re a toy collector, collector or just like to window shop
Guy told my girlfrend not to park in his parking lot when we didn’t even park there. You need to check yourself bud.
Their game selections are really good. Ive only had positive experiences coming in. Tons of games from all eras and some rare stuff for decent prices.
This place is garbage... I inquired about shipping on an item they were selling on eBay only to receive emails from the 90 pound hippy running the show up there stating that I the buyer have a problem.. we went back and forth via email before i decided to call this place. Immediately upon answering the phone; the guy doesnt introduce himself and when i tell him who i am he gets defensive. Even after i paid them for the item the owner didnt like my shipping question or my response to his condescending email. He said and i quote i dont care how much money you gave me... i dont like your questions and I am canceling your order. They care more about their feelings than they do making money... Snowflake owned Snowflake ran. Worst customer service i have ever received. The owner wanted to stay on the phone and cry about how rude i was in the email even after i paid him. What a joke... Go buy comics somewhere else.
Great comic shop, only onw I go to in Wa. Owner loves to talk about all things nerd. I love it.
They didnt have the comic I was looking for and did not offer to order it in. That said, the woman who helped me was friendly and it looked like they had a lot of other great stuff.
I found this store on a craigslist ad. I had a bunch of toys from the 80s I was wanting to sell. I walked in not knowing what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Im a small business owner myself and pride myself on my customer service so I have pretty high standards. I was greeted politely and treated very fairly. Tyson was very upfront about the whole transaction and very friendly and knowledgeable. He even gave me some pointers and info on some Ebay auctions I have up. I wouldnt hesitate to do business with him again. Better than expected experience.
A super cool shop. Well organized and lots of cool collectables all about. Comics, games and toys.
Vintage games, comics, and video games! Amazing store! One of a kind type store!! Super rare find! Really love this place! Nostalgia vibes.
Prices on higher end/sought-after video games are a bit overpriced not by much generally 10-15 above eBay buy it now which really wouldnt be too much of an issue if there was some wiggle room lets face it the guys got a staff and light bill so for the convenience of the (inspect in hand and take it home now) theres a premium to pay Id purchase more if theyd come down like 5 off the buy it now prices considering the PayPal/eBay fees I am not sure why they are so disinterested in working out any type of deal... I do find this joint good for the mid/low range uncommon stuff its priced on the dot sometimes a tad lower/higher so thats generally where I purchase I take my time browsing when sniffing out decent titles and the staff is pleasant the owner seems jaded/annoyed but honestly I have only had a few interactions with him theres really a solid selection here again Id purchase more if haggling was more apart of the stores fabric.
Great selection and friendly staff. Placeakes me feel like a kid again.
This is a great place for gamers or comic fans to go for retro games and equipment, comic books, figures, and more. You might find something here that normally is tougher or more expensive to track down. Ill be back if Im ever looking for something like that.
Recently bought an original NES from them and was excited to show my 7 year old some old school video games. All was great at first, played Mario for a few hours and it was fun. Fast forward one week. When we tried to play Mario today the system does not work (weve had it for one week) so I called them to see if they could replace the Nintendo since Ive only had it a week and spent $70 on it. Their response was Sorry sounds like you need a new 72 pin connector, we sell them for $10. So theyre telling me not only will they not remedy the defective item they sold me now I have to spend more money to fix it... I will not be returning and suggest that if you are looking for a gaming store that has retro games that you should look elsewhere as this place will sell you something that may work at first and then tell you that you need to spend more money with them to fix the broken system they sell you. Good luck and happy gaming.
I stumbled upon this place a few years ago and both of my sons and I love it.Cool toys, comics and used video games.Whats not to love?
Found this place seriously price gouging on Amazon. When I see a third-party seller charging three times the MSRP on a new item they are 100% blacklisted and getting a one-star review. Do not do business with people like this. Glorified scalper with a store. These companies are a joke
A great place to buy video games, anywhere from NES to 3ds
Wow! Organized and very helpful staff
Owner attempted to force choke me, at which time I countered with a Vulcan mind melt. The owner then jedi mind tricked me into vulcan neck pinching myself. Fortunately I was able to summon the powers of mordor before losing consciousness.
Awesome place, great deals, friendly people! I can never visit that store without finding some treasure!!
Jokers, Very Rude, Tried to purchase a piece from them on eBay, then followed up by calling the store - was hung up on when my idea of a best offer and theirs didnt match. Learn some customer service, if you dont like someones offer (thats within $10 of the asking price) COUNTER dont hang up on the customer. Work with them - and if not dont be rude at the very least.
My son and I always receive excellent service and the prices are super competitive!
This guys is a complete nightmare to deal with. Absolutely arrogant and in his words. Hes not here to be fair to people. I would avoid doing business or shopping from this snake .
Great place for Funko Pops...but thats it!
Originally had a decent experience but had to change my rating, staff was short and rude, entitled, also felt like they had aspergers as they couldnt listen to me and had a set opinion or notion on a subject and couldnt respond with human emotion or care
Good place for older classic games and comics.
Good store if youre looking for overpriced vintage items. Bad if youre looking to get reasonable value for a trade
Decent selection, prices are terrible. Dont spend more than ten bucks without doing research.
This is a great shop with a vast selection of comics, video games and toys. I’m primarily a collector of Silver and Bronze age comics and find that Amazing Heroes has one of the best selections in the area…everything from high-grade, professionally graded (by independent third party grading services like CBCS and CGC) issues to reasonably priced ‘reader copies’. It seem like every time I visit the store I find a back issue I’d been looking for (and often a bunch I didn’t even know I was looking for) and always at a great price.I’m not much of a vintage game collector, but it looks like they have a wide selection of both software and hardware (the last time I was in I saw a Vectrex console…something I always wanted as a kid).If you collect Funko Pop figures, Amazing Heroes has a huge selection. I’ve found a number of harder to find Pops here, priced lower than I’ve seen them offered elsewhere. I think they get their Funko shipments earlier than a lot of stores, as I’ve found some Pops here a month or so before they’ve popped up in GameStop or other local comic shops.Amazing Heroes also buys collections. I’ve brought over a number of old console games and comics to sell and felt that what I was offered was more than I would have gotten from other shops. Sure, I could have gotten more had I sold them as a collector to other collectors (via eBay, Mercari, etc), but I don’t have the time or wherewithal to go that route. As is common when selling vintage items to a retailer, I was offered cash or more in trade credit. Being there is always someting I find in the shop, I opted for trade credit and was not disappointed. It cracks me up that people complain that they aren’t offered full, collector price for their items. Newsflash: no retail establishment pays full retail price for what they sell…be it new items from a manufacturer or distributor or collectible items from an individual. Also, every market is different…a store will offer more for something that they know they can turn over fast and will offer less if it is an item that they believe will take a long time to sell.I’m always greeted when I enter the store, thanked when exiting (even if I don’t make a purchase) and have found the customer service to be excellent.
Clean shop with friendly staff. Interesting mix of comics, vintage console games, and Funko Pop figures.
Lots and lots of comics, retro games from NES to n64 and handhelds, they also carry lots of Star Wars action figures! Ma and Pop store, they like thier business and they have cool stuff. They are moving thier location to Rose Hill on 85th.
Great place for collectible comics and toys.
VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, I came to spend a few hundred dollars on some collectibles and maybe even more, first 5min in the store I find they are rude, unprofessional, overpriced, they talk down to you like child, disrespectful, why even have a store open to the public if youre going to just drive all your customers out. I will not ever buy from this business, and I would never send any of my friends or family.DO NOT VISIT OR BUY ONLINE FROM AMAZING HEROES TOYS & VIDEO GAMES
I have to say that I am incredibly disappointed in the business practices of this store. My boyfriend WHO LIVES IN SEATTLE and DOES NOT HAVE A CAR, went all the way to Kirkland on the bus to buy me a Nintendo NES that he saw advertised by Amazing Heroes on Craigs List. While he was there HE WAS TALKED INTO a gold special edition version. He thought I would love it because it was different and was charged almost three times as much for this console. He gave it to me last night and this special edition was spray painted with gold paint. There were also a few games included one of which was another special edition Super Mario Bros that was also gold. While I am touched by the thought behind my boyfriends gift (since I have wanted one for a while now) I am upset about the business practices Amazing Heroes employs.1) They TOOK ADVANTAGE of a customer who didnt know any better. My boyfriend is not a Nintendo aficionado and when he was told it was special he thought they were telling him the truth, not just selling him a spray painted version for three times the price.2) When my boyfriend called today to express frustration because we both took a closer look and realized it was spray painted, they told him that THEY WOULDNT TAKE IT BACK and that the spray painting was done well. He asked if they would consider doing an exchange and he would make up the difference by buying additional games. They again said no and said, he could probably sell it on Craigs List.I work in marketing and have worked in Customer Service for a number of Fortune 500 and small mom & pop companies. This is not how you get or retain customers. I am going to report this business to the Better Business Bureau and tell everyone I know that AMAZING HEROES HAS SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES.
Horrible I brought my Wii which was about 80 dollars I spent on it and the owner went and decided to give me 10 for it so I decline and I talked to friend and he said that he had sold his new Psp and he got like 15 out of it when he bought it for about same amount as my Wii. So Im never going back to that place for new people going there trying to sell their things I would recommend to stay cautious and aware.
The guy at Amazing Heroes in Kirkland is either an idiot or straight-up lied to me, robbing $7 from me. I asked point blank, Hey, do you know if this Clone Wars/Tetris Worlds XBox Disk will play on the XBox 360? The girl there (who was very nice and attentive and friendly, btw) had to get the attention of the guy with the shaved head, who seemed annoyed that I wanted to give him money in exchange for goods and/or services. He begrudgingly looked it up and said According to The Wiki, it will work. I asked again, You sure? The two-game disk? He seemed insulted, repeated that it was on the Wiki. So then I asked if they had any kind of return policy for if it didnt work, he ANGRILY said NO RETURNS ON ANY PURCHASES. I tried to lighten the mood and said Ha ha, well okay then... but if it doesnt work, its your stores reputation thats on the line!ITS ON THE WIKI was his reply. I bought the game and got it home. Popped it in, the console says This disk is not playable on the XBox 360 platform. Since I now have access to The Internet, I look it up on the Wiki, and it IS NOT listed on the Wiki Page of XBox Games playable on the XBox 360. Not sure why this guy lied to me, just to get seven bucks out of me?
Rude, overpriced. Avoid this place at all costs. Based on how they treat customers, will not be long before they finally go belly-up.
The owner didnt seem to be that friendly when I came in with a stack of comics, especially the Infinity series which is hard to get a complete set. I have a few variant covers of Guardians of the galaxy and for everything he said $10 dollars. Are you kidding me? The infinity series collection is selling for $90 dollars now and he quoted me at $15 for the set. What a joke.
Good people working here
Deserves to go out of business
The only reason to come here is because gamestop and another castle are not nearby . Stuff is rude and uptight when you are a person of color that just got off his labor job. Get treated like you stole something . No thank you
Another review for Amazing Jerks.I couldnt agree more with the other negative reviews here. The man child who owns this store is a real life version of the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons. He sits on his cheetos covered computer chair being a bully on Ebay by night, and acts like a total jerk to his customers by day.Do the smart thing and sell your toys on Ebay yourself, or spend your money elsewhere. I would also suggest blocking his Ebay account Amazing_heros to prevent him bidding on your auctions and being a total jagoff. One day this guys crappy attitude is going to catch up to him.
Great local comic book store!!
Small store, lots of great books but you cant see the expensive ones easily
Fantastic owner and staff, friendly and helpful!
Pretty chill place. Lots of collector games there
Good backlog.
This shop and it’s owner have sold fraudulent comics. scam beware!!!
Love this place.
Worst place ever terrible customer service left because of how bad the customer service was would not recommend to anyone besides the devil
It was OK but I thought the money I got was a little bit lower than it should have been when I traded in my Xbox and games
