Incredibly cozy place to shop for books and read. They have good snacks and a great tea selection. Their cookies are also delicious - really flavorful without being too sweet. This is fast becoming one of my favorite places in the stockade district.

Rough Draft is in Kingstons historical district. There is a lot of history within the surrounding streets. Nothing beats being able to browse for books and drink local brews! Super nice staff, amazing collection/selection of books, and a really good variety of beers on tap! Highly suggested stop if you are up from the city for the weekend, or even if you are local, so we can continue to support our independent bookstores!

Three words - Bar and Books. Always a great selection on beer, wine, cider, coffee, tea, etc. And the books, Wow! Curated to perfection with the latest, greatest and of course the classics, if thats your thing. Oh, and it couldnt be located in a cooler building. Outside seating with a fantastic overall vibe.

Best coffee in the area. Strong! Terrific environment. Friendly staff. Most customers are friendly and respectful (cant control who comes into yr establishment, but the core are good people). Quite the social scene if youre looking for one. But also a great place to sit and work on your own. If youre new to Kingston or Ulster County, it should be one of your first stops. And if youve lived here for over 20 years like myself, why havent you stopped by? Cheers!

COVID-19 REVIEW: Open and Uber cute! So happy we stopped by this adorable bar/book store and had a yummy sour beer while browsing all the fun books inside. It was situated in a historic corner of town in a stone building with very lovely decor and plenty of different seating. People were there reading enjoying a drink or set up on high tops studying and doing work on laptops. Great place to hang out and chill vibes wish they had a place like this by me. Do not underestimate this place the beer selection is amazing.

Consistently a cozy and hip place to sip a coffee or tea and read. My favorite are the (toasted) gluten free blueberry scones made by #Meridith with a pour over. Perch in the window and read something from the social justice book list or socialize outside. Also, they have an all-gender bathroom.

One of the coolest concepts for a bookstore. Whether you are getting a beer or a coffee it is a great place to get a drink, do some work and hang out. Great, purposeful selection of new releases, and also has some great bakery treats. There is a rewards card if you are a frequent customer, but if you are in the area just to visit, it is a must stop in Kingston!

This is the place you wished you opened yourself. You know, the place with a fabulous coffee & bar, cafe, & bookstore, in a cool & beautiful space? This is that place. They serve some outstanding coffee as well as other drinks here. Had a totally amazing croissant as well. Took my stuff to get back on the road and checked out the book racks & tables on the way out, wanted to buy though didnt want to wait on the cafe line just to buy a book, so unfortunately I never got it. Wish they had a quick check out near the door, would be my only suggestion. Other customers were not in the hurry that I was, clearly enjoying the beautiful space, bookstore and cafe. Definitely looking forward to returning when next in the area.
