I dealt with Phil the manager. I was referred to him by my sister who’s been using him for years. He listened to what my needs were. He even advised me to wait during the Summer when I came in because of all the parts shortages and told me I’d have a bigger selection to choose from if I could wait. How many sales people tell you to wait??Excellent service. Great guy. I highly recommend driving to Kingston for this type of service.

I recently purchased a preowned Forster form colonial Subaru. It was by far the best auto transaction I’ve ever had. David Smith sold me the car. He never pushed me or belittled me in the negotiations. I felt understood and respected… I do not think that is common for a young person who walks into an auto dealership.Car buying is really stressful for me, but not with David. Had a recall fixed on my car. That was fine and it was done for free. However, I made an appointment for 10:00a and was told when I came in that it might take until the next day to get my car back. I was not told on the phone when making the appointment. This is an issue when I now live in NYC and we cannot take the loaner cars into the city. So I had to find a place to stay overnight so I could get my car in the morning to go home

Despite the initial assessment taking three hours only to find that I’d have to bring my car back for the actual repair the overall experience ended up being positive. My only suggestion would be to let people who have been waiting an hour or more know what’s going on. Every person I sat with in the waiting room shared my feelings about this.

Thankfully, Dan was able to work with my budget, time limitations and unique situation to get me out of there a few hours later with a lease for a snappy new Forester Sport - while still taking time to walk me through all the new features. Because of a recall, I brought my Impreza to Colonial for repair. From start to finish, the experience was excellent. Before coming in, I needed information and reassurance. The service manager was generous with his time on the phone, showing no impatience as he answered my many questions. When I showed up for the appointment, he explained certain features of my loaner car in a kind and helpful way, again acting as if I were his only customer. There was a small issue with my insurance which Colonial staff handled on their own speedily and efficiently. The repair took less time than expected and upon my return, Colonial had all documentation ready for signing. What nice people! A member of the service staff even came out to my own car -- in the rain! -- to answer a few questions about headlights. Yes, it was raining hard and she stayed with me as I scribbled notes on a soggy piece of paper. I was going home to a warm house where I could towel off and get into dry clothes. But she had to finish up her day at the office in damp clothes. Nevertheless, as we stood in the rain, she was kind, helpful, patient and we shared a few laughs. And she told me to come back if I had further questions. What more could you ask from a dealership? I give this company an A++.

Great service experience at Colonial Subaru for a recall on our 2018 Legacy. They had o order a new part & provided us with a loaner car for 3 days while they waited for it to come in. Promptly installed it & it only took a few minutes to get checked out when I returned the loaner & picked up our car back. The Service Dept staff was very professional, practiced social distancing, as well as other safety precautions including cleaning of the loaner we used.

Pretty good service. I went for an oil change and new wipers on the front but not the back. I was asked specifically did I want front and back. I said just the front. I got both for an additional $14. I was asked did I want to keep it I said no and asked does it need to be removed and was told “I’ll have to ask my manager.” Not a costly mistake but I expected to just not be charged and get a sorry, just keep the wiper. Not a huge deal but a small annoyance.

In June of 2020, I brought my 2016 Subaru in for AC recharge. I tried using my AC in April 2021 and it was pushing hot air. I brought my car in as a waiter appointment to check for a leak and recharge. Turned out to be an o-ring leak and was fixed right then and there and waited maybe an hour and a half. The staff was very courteous and kept me up to date on the service.
