Absolutely the best eye doctor appointment I have had. The doctor was very honest and helped me make well informed decisions and they didn’t try to push me to buy anything I didn’t want. They helped me utilize my insurance and actually saved my husband money on his glasses.

The staff is all very nice and the selection of frames is great. I wish the doctor would slow down a little on the eye exam. It was hard to say which was better because he went so fast.

My 8 yr old daughter recently had an appointment for her annual exam and we were very pleased with the friendliness of the staff. The doctor was great and did extremely well with her. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain things and answer my daughters question. Also my daughters glasses were done and ready to be picked up the same day. Great experience all around!

Wonderful doctor! Knowledgeable, honest, informative, genuinely cared about my husbands vision. And he had a great sense of humor! My husband was also able to pick a pair of glasses that he liked and the technician helped him with choosing the correct lenses according to his insurance. It was a very good experience and I would highly recommend Visionworks!

Lady at the counter was very rude and had an attitude. We asked for something simple just to get my wifes glasses tightened and she said I can do it but if they break its not my problem. I also felt bad for the customer in front of us as she gave her a very hard time and an attitude. My wife was going to set an appointment for an exam and new glasses but now because of the way we were treated we will be going elsewhere. If I could give a 0 star I would. My review is not worth even giving them 1 star.

Every one from the optometrist to the person helping me with my glasses to choose frames and lenses were great with good attitudes very professional at their jobs. Hope the new glasses will be as good as the service.

Dr Kanitkar is a one of only a few optometrists that I trust. I’ve been wearing glasses for 42 years and I’ve learned experience counts. He knows his job and it shows in the way he cares for the patient. I plan to continue to use him for years to come.

I was seen very promptly and courteously upon arrival. The doctor and his staff were very professionally. I felt very confident in my exam and results. The selection of frames was excellent and I was able to make my selection very quickly. My insurance covered almost all the cost of my visit. I left feeling very satisfied. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love the dr with dark hair and skin he is just amazing with kids and you dont get that alot with dentist and eye doctor but he was amazing and my girls adored him. This is a great place to go if you got kids and for yourself.

All I can say is amazing!! I had a prescription from another eye Dr that I was unable to fill else where, went here- and they welcomed me with open arms!! The staff was cheerful, understanding, and extremely helpful. Even with this pandemic and the precautions we are all having to take, this group happily filled my prescription, aided me in choosing the best frames and done it all with a smile. I am unable to wear these masks covering my nose AND mouth, I did have my mouth covered though, and they still took care of business. Thank you visionworks - you all have gained a new customer!!!

I would like to share my unpleasant experience with a lady by the name of Sharon (front desk personnel ).On Friday March 12th, my elderly mother needed an eye exam and since I live out of state, and I am unable to visit as often as I would like, we decided to drive up to see if she could do a “walk in appointment” as she has in the past with this Optometrist office.The lady that I assume handles appointment etc. explained she needs to have an appointment, I politely asked if any appointment can be made between Friday to Monday.Her response was, we have appointments every 15 minutes not once looking at an appointment book to see if a cancellation or any time was available.She then picked up a mask to hand me, I politely explained I am “medically exempted” once I refused the mask that I can not wear, with her angry facial expressions, she pointed aggressively at the door to leave like I was an unwelcomed, unwanted customer.I was very disappointed in her customer services, and left me almost speechless.I asked for her name in which she refused, it took me three times before she would tell me her name, and the only thing I could say to her was “do better” meaning treat all people with respect even more so if they are returning customers!Thank you for taking the time to read my concern, my hopes is she will think first about taking care of customers over her demands, and treat all with respect.ThanksMelissa

Everyone here is professional and helpful. Doctor takes his time and explains better than any that I have used in the past. When he was checking what lens power that I needed, he took the time to explain what I needed to be paying attention to. Closest prescriptions I have had.

Doctor was great. Two options for retina exam.

I received a new prescription and it was wrong. Was having major headache and eye pain and returned the next day. I asked to see the doctor to review my prescription and the front desk would not let me. Even when the web site has a money back 100 day guarantee if the glasses are not right. Cannot even use the glasses and charged me and my vision insurance. They had to set another appointment to even see the doctor to look over my prescription.

I had put off going to get my eyes examined for years. Everyone was so nice and informative. The doctor went over everything and in detail. It was a very pleasant visit.

I made an appointment with them n was told my insurance wasnt in network but they have out of network benefits n it should cover they would check itFinally called back n ask for my insurance info again they was gonna check itNo call back from visionworksSo I called the morning of my app n they still had my insurance info wrong n I was told they wasnt in network would not recommend

I came in as walk in late on Wednesday afternoon. I had to wait a little while but I expected to. Everyone on the staff was EXTREMELY nice! The doctor was beyond awesome taking his time to explain everything he was doing and my options. I will definitely be back!

Waited almost an hour past my appointment time to see the doctor. Other than that the doctor was friendly and thorough. The staff was awesome. Ryan made sure I got the best price possible for my glasses.

Almost every pair of glasses we have bought from this place end up broken in some way within a few months. I have worn glasses my entire life and have never had an issue before. Im talking about glasses physically snapping which isnt suppose to happen. Their response is always sorry about your luck, but you gotta buy a new pair.They do not stand behind their product and want you to purchase a costly extended warranty....now I know why. They have officially lost the business of my family and our 5 pairs of glasses.

Dr. Blakely Jones was exceptionally kind and competent. He was respectful of my time and addressed any concern I had. I would recommend Dr. Jones for anyone wanting excellent and efficient care with a fantastic manner.Walking into the frames and lenses center, Sharon made me aware of additional options for frames and lenses. She was kind throughout the interaction and made my experiencing purchasing glasses very easy.

I would highly recommend Visionworks! The staff and Dr. were very helpful and friendly. The Dr. took me and my son back right away for our appointments and did a very thorough eye exam. They had a wide array of frames to choose from, including many name brands. I got 4 pair of glasses and 2 eye exams with my insurance for under $150. I would definitely travel the hour it took us to get there just for the service I received.

Vision Works is a great place. Everyone was very caring and especially Ryan took the time to review all my options on purchasing my glasses. Ryan showed me every option available to me under my Insurance. The staff was great and made me feel very comfortable and not pressured into buying more than I needed. The optometrist was very through in checking my eyes. I feel best deal in town an you wouldn’t want to go anywhere else but Visionworks Kingsport TN. Thanks to Ryan and the staff.

Complete waste of money, my mom spent an extra 100$ for thinner lenses and when the glasses kept falling apart they refused to help. On top of that the receptionist was very disrespectful about the situation, the staff only disclosed to her about the frames not being compatible with thick lenses after they took her money and refused to refund or repair. DONT BUY RAYBAN FRAMES IF YOU HAVE THICK LENSES.

I scheduled an appointment for my father who had a fall and extensively broke his only set of glasses. Hes elderly, lives alone, and greatly enjoys his independence. I was so worried he was going to have to go several days without them (I would have brought him to my home to make sure he was safe) and was hoping greatly we could find a local lab that could make these for him. I scheduled an appointment the next day for him and the whole process from exam to starting to wait on the glasses was under an hour. I explained our situation and he opted to go without one lens option in order for them to have the lenses in stock. They promised they would be ready by 4:00 and they were, he was fitted, and we were out the door in just a few minutes. My father was very pleased with the service and as a nurse, I was impressed the optometrist asked about some of my fathers medications as things like diabetes and blood pressure can have an impact on your vision. It demonstrated to me he was thorough. They were having a sale, but the price was still way less than we expected and my father remarked this prescription was the best he had in a very long time. I would absolutely recommend this location.

I am always treated with respect rather than the disdain Ive received other places. The days/hours and close proximity also makes things much simpler. And if there are any extra charges beyond my insurance Im notified Before hand. Unfortunately a couple of places I had gone to in the past informed me of charges I simply could not squeeze out of my SSD check AFTER the appointment.

Expect quite a wait, but the doctor is good, the glasses selection is quite good with pretty reasonable prices on frames.

This was our very first visit to a visionworks facility. The staff at the front wasn’t as clear as I felt that they could have been on letting us know what to expect and how the process worked. The Doctor was really great with our daughter, and made her feel comfortable and at ease. The lady that actually checked us out and told us about frame options etc. was super helpful and nice. Overall, the experience was positive.

We like Visionworks we are very satisfied with the service we get when we go there and all employees are friendly and patience with you.

Sharon, the technician who helped me select my lenses was also thorough and very pleasant.Thanks to the current promotion, the cost was very reasonable.The only reason I did not give them a five star rating is, the other employees were a bit stand offish, they did not smile and were extremely clinical, almost robotic.

Everyone is very friendly and professional. They help with making sure the style of frame you choose fits your look and your face. My daughter always finds the style of glasses she is looking for.

WORST APPOINTMENT EVER!!!! “Red Head Amy” at the front desk was the most impolite, ignorant, and disrespectful receptionist I have ever had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting! She seemed to have no interest in working that day or assisting anyone at the store. She had no ability whatsoever to communicate with customers concerning insurance, glasses, or any useful information regarding the appointment itself. The optometrist stated that he had nothing to do with what happened at the front concerning the rudeness of the receptionist. He also spent the whole time belittling my prior doctor and taking every chance to make a derogatory comment about the actions of my prior doctor. He was very aggressively trying to make a buck while trying to reassure me that he wasn’t the for the money. He spent the rest of the time putting me down and trying his best to elevate himself while trying to disparage me.WORST VISIT EVER! Not going back! Would give no stars if possible.

I would give this place 100 stars if I could. My girlfriend has vision problems and I don’t, so I had no idea what to ask for at an eye doctor. This place got us set up with the eye exam and glasses two years ago. Today, she needed an eye exam for her employer, and not only did they bend over backwards to get us the paperwork we needed, but the eye doctor - Dr. Kanitkar - actually remembered an off handed conversation we had when we came in originally. You get a premium customer service experience, the best diagnostics money can buy, and they’re still cheaper than the competition. Can not recommend strong enough.

Me and my husband visited the Kingsport location. We were trying to find an eye Dr. and I had made our appointment with someone else in Kingsport then we heard of Visionworks. So we brought our prescriptions there and had them to do my husbands glasses and my contacts. The previous eye Dr. wrote my husbands prescription wrong 3 times. The staff at Visionworks were so courteous and I cant believe how willing they are to help even though we brought prescriptions from somewhere else. So we made a separate appointment to see Dr. Kanitkar. I love this Dr. I wish we had found him years ago. He really just made us feel like we were part of his family. I pray he plans on sticking around here Dr. Kanitkar because hell have us for patients for life, good Lord willing❣️❣️

Both my daughter and I visited this location this past weekend. My daughter was getting new glasses and I was getting both an eye exam and glasses. Dr. Kanitkar was extremely helpful! But the real stand out with customer service was Sharon. She was phenomenal!! She helped us understand both of our prescriptions and explained what would be beneficial for our new glasses to have, like high def and transition! We live in Bristol, but will continue to visit the Kingsport location because of the exceptional customer service we received there!

I got an exam, new glasses. Insurance was charged and I also paid for extra stuff. My new glasses are completely useless. Was told I would need another exam and would be charged $70 to correct the problem. My old glasses and prescription works fine other than being worn and scratched. This used to be a good place to get glasses. What happened?? I wanted to post with 0 stars but you have to rank at least a one star.UPDATETalked to a rep on the phone today. Said I can go back and get what I need fixed. Ill see what happens.

After a long wait with an appointment, first Dr. wrote wrong prescription. Came back, new Dr.,whom was great by the way, new prescription but no trial contacts in stock. Ordered, 10 days to come in, so they said. Three weeks later, trial pair in, only one contact and wrong brand. Reordered again. First time I’ve ever had to wait almost a month on a trial pair and still no contacts.

Horrible customer service. Glasses arrived and could not see clearly with them on. I asked for a refund and they offered me a free pair of sunglasses while I wait for a new pair of glasses. The new glasses arrived and I still couldnt see clearly. I asked for a refund and they took back the sunglasses and stated it would take weeks for my insurance to be reimbursed. They stated my copay would not be refunded. I have now wasted over 1 months time with Visionworks. I will be going to Lens Crafters. I will also be filing a complaint with the customer service department.

Was a great visit they worked very hard to make sure I loved the frams I had and that the contacts I got fit well and was comfortable they went above and beyond to make sure I got the full usage of my insurance as well as working to make sure I had the smallest out of pocket cost diff be makeing all future eyecare appointments with them.Update!!!the doctor that I seen today when I picked up my glasses was rude and airagen I was supposed to pick up my contacts also and did not because whatever reason I wasnt told I ask about a lens for astigmatism was told does not exist I did my research they do make them the doctor I seen treated me as if I was dumb and expressed that fact that he felt as if I was poor and would not be able to afford them needless to say I will follow up to get my contacts Ive all ready paid in full for when and if they get them in and take my money and buisness elsewhere

Dr. Parag Kanitkar is the very best with children! I recommend anyone with children to go see him for their eye exam. Also the prices for glasses are very reasonable especially the bogo deal!!

Wait is always expected .. Appointment for a hr wait .. If your geting contacts i suggest somewhere else .. You are given a trial pair to only have to come back and wait another hour. Just to receive your supply . They try to charge my extra for a fitting which insurance covers .. But i called them to have them fix it .. My trial pair were already messed up and have waste a hr just to revive what i ordered .. After this i will be switching to somewhere else .. And this is not the frist time i been here. .. Frist vist they broke my old glasses and wpuld not replace them made me buy new ones
