Last Saturday I was searching though my wifes closet, trying to find my dress shoes. I never found my shoes, but I did find my high school ring, and two broken gold chains. I met with Chris over at Central Texas Gold Exchange. Chris turned out to be a really nice guy, very friendly, really helpful! He went out of his way to explain everything to me, to make sure I was comfortable with the whole process.Actually, I did some research ahead of time on gold prices, and Ive got to say his prices were pretty good....better than HEBs prices. Glad I didnt sell at HEB.To sum it up.....If you want a good experience, with a fair price, go see Chris.Really friendly guy, who will do you right. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes and I received a fair price for my items.Do some research before you head out to sell your precious metals so you have an idea how much your items are worth. Buyers of precious metals often take 40-60% off the current scrap metal value, leaving you with 60-40% of the metal value (i.e., if you have gold or silver worth $100 based on the daily scrap metal value, you may go home with $60 or $40. Central Texas Gold Exchange took 30% or less, depending on the precious metal (i.e. they pay ~ $70 for $100 worth of gold or silver).
