Decent neighborhood hardware store but felt like they looked at me like I was a criminal trying to do something wrong

Greg was most helpful!!! I bought a tool here & was pretty confident (thought I knew enough...HA) that it would do for a seemingly small task in front of me. However, it did not work so I went back for a refund & better tool. Greg went above & beyond, & took the time to make certain I had exactly what I needed for the job. It worked, and easily! Also, Cassie was nice with the return/exchange & did the transaction smoothly. Thank you Handyman Ace Hardware for your help!

Love Handyman and how the employees truly appreciate working there and helping you. Greeted when you walk in, they let you shop for a while, then ask you if you need help. The propane Marine vet was an excellent man, and helped me with my old tank. This Handyman has great American values and employees. Thank you all for giving me a wonderful experience.

Lots to choose from for a neighborhood hardware store. Unlike the big box stores, employees are actually around to help.

Well, I won’t claim that they are perfect, but these folk do their best to answer my questions and meet my hardware needs.(Doesn’t hurt that they are less than a mile from my front door!)

These guys know there stuff. For the past 5 years I go to them first instead of Lowes or Home Depot. Every time Im in the store they ask if I need help, which I usually do need it. Im in and out in half the time of the bigger stores. And I like that.

This is the worst ACE I have been to in regards to selection, availability and customer service. I called and asked about a fridge water filter and was told that they had the exact replacement for my part number, but when I arrived 15 minutes later they claimed that they said they can order it and didnt physically have it in store.First trip I was looking for weed and feed and was rudely asked what I was looking for. I was nice about it but figured that was their way of saying hello.A few weeks later I called and asked about a cordless drill gun deal and they claimed to have plenty in stock and on the shelf...when I arrived an hour later they said they didnt have any and would have to order it. I asked them to order it for me and I would return to pay when it was here, and they told me to pay now because the deal ended that day and they couldnt hold it for me. So I did, and returned to pick it up a few days later, only to find out that they didnt know where they put my receipt, even though I had mine in hand, and said they couldnt give it to me until they found theirs...but I have mine!!!Then, just the other day, I wanted to quickly look for a pvc pipe fitting to fix an issue in the basement. I thought that I might be able to find the 1-1/2 inch fitting that are very common in sump pump repairs. Nope! None in stock! Waste of my time.

The staff in Ace hardware likes to hide when people ask for help another gentleman and I was waiting for at least 30 minutes for someone to come over and help us and he was there a long time before I was so we just walked out

Had a problem with bird droppings all over my patio. A gentleman at Ace suggested shiny red tape, made just for this. I cut it in 3 foot sections, and hung it all around patio. NOT ONE MESS SINCE! For 7 bucks, what a great fix! Will be shopping here frequently from now on.

When an Ace Hardware associate does not welcome you or even say hi and just stares at you while your at the register to place an order, well that makes me wish I would have just walked out and went to the Ace Hardware Store on Wilmington Ave who provides outstanding service and makes me feel welcome. Many thanks to the very nice man who loaded my car~He was awesome. Angela on the other hand needs some training. She made me feel like I was bothering her~never again will I go into that location

CUSTOMER SERVICE RATING F-Stay away from ace. Thank goodness for large retail stores. I called the store and spoke with a Devin who tells me a cordless black and decker weed trimmer is $49.99 Lst522. I said please put one upfront for me. I will be there to pick it up in an hour and a half. I spoke with Devin for 15 mins. Upon arriving at the store the store manager Shawna tells me we do not sell cordless weed trimmers. We only have trimmers with an electric cord. I then called the store and said this is your store right. The manager said you have to go to the centerville store. Completely lying to my face. I honestly cant believe how terrible Customer service is at a mom and pop shop. Long story short 5 mins later a guy walks up and says we have the trimmer battery power but now the price is $99.99 and Devin is at lunch so I have to wait for Devin to return from lunch, 30 minutes to go. I said I am confused first you tell me you dont sell cordless battery operated weed trimmers now you all of a sudden do and the price is $50 dollars more. Shawna walked away for 10 mins and said you have to wait. Then came back and said. I wont sell you the weed trimmer for $49.99. again I asked 2 seconds ago you told me you dont have a cordless battery-powered weed trimmer and now you have one and Im at the right store that I spoke two an 1.5hr before arriving.PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM ACE. ACE IS A RIP OFF. YOU CAN FIND EVERYTHING AT HOME DEPOT AND LOWES WITH FRIENDLIER STAFF.

They are very helpful at this location. You are usually greeted upon entry and they will assist you to find what you need.

New kid, he needed better training on key cutting. I ordered 3 keys of on type, and a single key of a second type. He took so long and only made one of each that I decided to leave and come back when they had a experienced employee.

Helpful staff, for the most part very easy to find and get the attention of, unlike the large box stores. If you catch things on sale they are price comparable, although the average non-sale price is generally a bit more. If you need something in a hurry, they will usually have something that will work for your application, if it is not specifically what you were looking for in terms of a product.

So much better then the big box stores. The employees are always very friendly (and VERY informative), and if you have an older house like me, you cannot beat the selection. They almost always have what I need, and more importantly (to me, anyway) they have the knowledge to get me what I need the first time. Ive been shopping here for years, and will continue to do so.

Had quite a variety of things to purchase. Found most of them by myself, then found an associate and they helped me compile my list of things. Very clean and orderly. Staff friendly and helpful . They had the things that I needed.

Large selection, good service

Good people and clean.... Prices are a little higher than Lowes or home depot and almost NO LUMBER and if they do its rediculously expensive.... But I give 5 stars because this is not the store for a large construction job or a company.... This is a great place for the average Joe who wants to work on his own house

I prefer Ace Hardware over the big box stores because they have figured out how to offer me the variety of what I need that the big box stores also provide. However the service and the feeling of having a Hometown hardware store that supports me locally as well as my community is something I dont want to lose. Everyone has a choice and I choose to support my hometown and they choose to support me.

Took a mower blade in to be sharpened. Arrived the next day to find that it was just being done when they called back to the shop for it. Brought it out in minutes later barely ground. $8.00 here to have someone that is not experienced vs $5.50 at Centerville Gravely to have someone that knows what theyre doing... Priceless!
