I purchased my R33 from Carlos back in April of this year. Note: Buying a RHD car is a unique process and it can be stressful if you dont find the right broker - and Im very picky with who I work with. Originally, I had aimed to purchase a car through another broker but didnt feel comfortable with the financial games, then found RHD by accident. I explained to Carlos what I was looking for specifically and he showed me a car that was just going through the auction and it was exactly the vehicle I wanted. I received a lot of pictures of the car at the port and at the shop. There were some minor, repairable issues that were presented but Carlos and team were forth coming and took care of the car before it was shipped at no extra cost to me. Remember these cars are over 25 years old...do not expect a beauty queen unless youre paying over 6 figures. These are becoming hard to source out. Overall I am very pleased with RHD. It was involved in a minor shipping incident (unrelated to RHD), which RHD took care of with the broker immediately. I would definitely buy from them again. I love my car! Nows the time - the market is just climbing! 5 stars.

I was once looking at these reviews but I have to say, It’s by far been the best experience I’ve had with any dealership. I barely had any experience when It came to financing and they walked me through it. They were super transparent on the status of the car. They took care of everything, all I had to do was pay the price of the car. They make sure to sell you the car in the best condition. I purchased my 180sx and drove it back home 7 hours with no issues and it’s been a blast. These guys are awesome and really chill. I I highly recommend them

Since I am located in Texas and with them located in Washington they did everything possible to make the buying process simple, efficient and personal. I was not able to look at the car in person but the pictures, videos and availability to answer any question at any part of the day made the process enjoyable. Figured it was only necessary to share my experience after seeing all of the recent heat towards this company. I obviously cant speak for everybody since I had the advantage of being close to their building to actually see the car in person and test drive before making the purchase, but everything was as described and both Josh and Carlos were extremely thorough with everything. Carlos sent me dozens of photos of the undercarriage, engine bay, compression test, and under the carpet of the trunk. Just be knowledgeable and understand the age of the vehicle before entering a deal, I have family that deal in classic cars and you can never expect an older vehicle to be in perfect shape, it just comes with the age. Just be educated on the car you want and ask questions, Im sure youll be fine. Super smooth experience in getting my Mark II!

This is the first car I have purchased sight-unseen and I have no regrets whatsoever. Carlos and Nick were happy to send me any photos I requested and answer any questions I had. I put a deposit on the car the day it was posted for sale, and they waited patiently for about 2 weeks while I completed the sale of my existing car. The Prelude is INCREDIBLY clean and everywhere I have taken it, I have been told its the cleanest example theyve ever seen. I have had the car for about 6 months now and it runs flawlessly and is an amazing car for being 26 years old. It still has only about 78k miles, so itll be with me for years and years to come. It is my daily driver and I smile every time I get into it. Even though it seems that everyone wants the GTRs and Supras, RHD Specialties still offers a diverse inventory and will pretty much get in whatever you ask for. I recieved my r32 gtr from RHD specialties about a month ago. I gave it some time to write my review because i wanted to get some good time behind the wheel of the car before I shared the experience I had with RHD specialties. Carlos and company at RHD spec are no joke when they say they are enthusiasts here to serve the enthusiasts. I could not see the car I was interested in in person because i live as far across the country as it can get. Carlos gave me every picture of the car I asked for, along with pictures of compression tests of each cylinder. Every picture I recieved was real and of the car I purchased. At RHD they are passionate about their work and that was what I was looking for. They enclosed shipped the car to me from WA to VT which was impressive at the price. When I purchase my next JDM it will be from Carlos and company at RHD Specialties.

Buying a 25 year old + car can be Nerve-racking. Initially, I wanted to fly out there and have a look at the car before purchasing. Though airline flights were super expensive and I Was not able to make it out.I dealt with mostly with Nick, and could not have asked for a better professional experience. At one point, I became a pest and asked a lot of questions as well as pictures and videos. RHD Specialties was able To provide all of the pictures and videos I asked for. This made me a lot more comfortable in my purchase.The communication and response time exceeded my expectations. We were able to finally get a deal done, and the vehicle was shipped out to me.Prior to shipping, they sent me 40+ pictures of the car prior to it being shipped. The car was delayed 6hrs But that was out of their control.Overall, very happy with my purchase And would go right back to them if I were to purchase another.

So, it’s been a year and during this time I’ve been going back and forth about wether or not I should update my review of RHD.It’s not that I’m unhappy with the car, I do enjoy it. Had I purchased the car from auction myself I would be 100% satisfied.My issue is that I was lied to about the original condition of the car. I only purchased this car from RHD because I was told the paint was original and paid collectors price for the car based on Carlos’ word.Upon receiving the car it was obvious the car had been painted and also had been in a minor accident. It was so obvious that it’s hard to believe RHD knows so little about cars that they wouldn’t have noticed. But those are the only options, either they don’t fully understand what they are doing or they are liars.I’m not saying RHD painted the car to cover anything up, the paint is nicely done beyond their capability but anyone in the classic car business would know it had been painted.So, that’s it really. I got ripped off. It’s not a bad car, I just overpaid for it by a lot.The silver lining is since this happened I’ve learned to import cars myself and have gotten some really nice cars at good prices.

My first time buying a car from a dealership and I was skeptical about buying a car that I couldnt test drive or see in person, since I live in another state. I recently purchased a 1994 S14. It was shipped black from the motherland of Japan. It’s an older car that was well maintained and respected even when it arrived in the US.A little about my buying experience...I’d been shopping around looking for an S14. I came across a few but something about Rhds S14 and their customer service that made me comfortable. They answered all my questions and were super knowledgeable.Through the process of getting the car I contacted several audio shops near me but they and I alike were both skeptical because they hadn’t done much work on imported cars. I asked Nick if there was anyway they might be able to replace the head unit for me and with out hesitation he said of course that’s his area of expertise. I ordered a new head unit and they installed it perfectly I might add.I purchased a lip for the car because well it just looks good. Lol this made it look good of course RHD took care of me.Once the car was detailed and prepped I was contacted by the owner Carlos he just wasn’t pleased. Not that the car looked terrible but it’s 25years old and asked me if I would like to do a paint job. I told him I was actually considering getting one done once the car got here and of course RHD specialties had a painter. They painted my S14 a gorgeous ah3 red. I gotta tell you pictures don’t do it justice. Again another part of the process they took care of me and it was just incredible. Oh they also got the lip in time and painted that for me as well!To top it off RHD got the car shipped to me asap. Got the car and it is gorgeous.One thing I gotta say since a few of my buddies have purchased cars from other import shops is that rhd Specialties didn’t just ship the car with a bunch of customs and border paper work and foreign purchase documents I couldn’t understand or read. They went as far as getting me a Washington state title with the documents needed to get me car titled and registered in my home state of NY.Overall rating 5 out of 5 stars they did their thing with customer service, body and paint, maintenance, audio and documents. Just got my 1993 Nissan Skyline GTS-T from these guys and Im extremely pleased with RHD Specialties. They really look at the process as a whole from the consumers point of view, gave me photos of the car when it landed, when they were done working their magic on it, and I got to see photos of the car being loaded onto the truck. I really want to thank Carlos for staying in contact with me and was (and still is) always able to get into contact with. I actually tried a couple other dealerships beforehand that were closer to home but I was ignored or forgotten, Im all the way out here in North Carolina and it felt like I was across the street with these guys. They really go the extra mile with every step and I will not hesitate to do business with these guys again.

My husband bought a 1993 land cruiser - he was so excited. A dream car, he absolutely loves it. We have had it for about 3 weeks and it’s already in the shop. Needs a whole new clutch replaced AND it takes 3 weeks to get the part in from the shop we have it at. So brand new car he got to drive for a couple weeks and now doesn’t get to use it for a month. Very disappointing we wanted to trust them that everything was in good condition but it definitely wasn’t. Wouldn’t buy from them again..

Ive been watching RHD Specialties and their inventory for years now. Gotta say Im glad I discovered their shop. I was able to get a highly desirable car added to my collection. I was active duty military that was on deployment when I had found the exact FD I had wanted. I was worried since I wasnt stateside at the time that I would be disqualified from even trying to reserve the car. Nope it was a first come first served basis. Whoever puts in the deposit first gets the same rights to reserve it. And being on deploymen was no different.They were able to work with my various forms of communication.I messaged RHD on every platform I could (Instagram, Facebook, and Email) Within 24hrs I had a response back on every outlet instructing me on the process of reserving and the same day I was able to reserve the RX7. At that point RHD had ensured they understood the situation and was willing to work with me for completing the process. From the time the RX7 had left the port off of Japan, to it hitting the ports of Seattle they kept me in the loop. With an abundant amount of pictures showing the car and condition of the car each step of the way. Even pics from their vehicle inspection process. Even notified me of the apparent issues the car had Once the car hit Washington the buying pcess was started. Rhd was able to hold on to the car until I had completed deployment. I appreciate the care that went into the importing process of the FD. I recommend RHD to anyone looking for their 1st imported car as long as they understand the rushes with buying a used car in general. With that being said happy hunting for your dream car.

I just want people to know how amazing my experience with RHD Specialties has been. These guys, Carlos, Hung, & Nick, worked with me over a couple months to make this happen, Hung is the tech, great guy who loves what he does, and he does it great! When I arrived in town they let me do a full inspection on the vehicle and test drive before I was asked to sign any paper work. These guys genuinely care about these cars, and making sure the customers are pleased and are buying what they really want. If I ever consider another car like this, I wouldnt even consider looking else where, these guys earned my trust, I HIGHLY recommend them to any first time, or experienced buyer of JDM vehicles. I came to look at a car, it had two vin plaques and none of the employees would give me a definitive answer as to why. It seemed like it may have had a misfire but the technician said it was just a faulty maf sensor. Came back a week later and the car didn’t have the proper ECU in it. So glad I didn’t buy a car from them as I’ve heard some horror stories about engine failures and maaco paint jobs. Would recommend you go anywhere else with your hard earned money!

Wanted to taken a moment and share the positive experience I had with Carlos and crew at RHD Specialties.After my G35 was totaled out due to being rear ended I was looking around for a new ride. I have always liked Nissan sports cars and was looking for another one. Through my nephew I met Carlos at RHD during one of his open houses. I had never considered buying a JDM Nissan until then.After following RHD on Facebook for awhile a clean unmolested 93 Skyline GTR with low kms popped up. I went down to take a look at it, the staff was very helpful and answered my many, many questions. They were still going through the inspection at that time making sure it was roadworthy and repairing any issues they found. They racked it for me so I was able to check for undercar issues. It was in great looking, solid car and decided to make an offer.After negotiating with Carlos we came to a mutually beneficial price, I placed a retainer to hold the vehicle until they were done with their inspection along with a few of my conditions as well. Carlos was very professional during this process and was very accommodating to my concerns. When the vehicle was ready we did a final walk through and test drive. With the terms of the agreement being met we closed the deal. No muss, no fuss.What I think sets RHD apart from the many importers aside from making every effort to import quality units is that the relationship does not end when you leave. He and his staff have been so helpful when I had a concern, questions and offering solid advice or a lead that put me in the right direction.I would definitely recommend RHD Specialties if you are in the market for a JDM vehicle.

Overall it was a great experience. Both of the individuals I worked with were pleasant and helpful. There was a little hold up with payment while I was in training for the military but worked out fine in the end. I live out of state so couldnt come see the car before hand. I wish I would have known that I needed an entire cat back exhaust before buying but I could have asked I guess. The car is great shape otherwise and I will update after some time and let everyone know if we are still on the right track.

Just wanted to give a huge shoutout to Carlos over at RHD Specialties. Ive been wanting to buy an R33 for quite a while and could not be happier with the experience I had with them. From answering the phone every time, taking every photo I asked for, answered every annoying question and text message. They checked all the boxes and as a customer those are the ones you want checked.One thing Ive got to say for any future buyers/potential current buyers. These are old cars! Theyre not fresh off the showroom floor from the 1990s, theyll most likely need some love from you, the buyer. I dont mean that in a negative way either, I mean that because its true. Thats part of owning a unique older car like these which will eventually become classics. I needed a new suspension but was told that ahead of time before I bought it because they told me everything that would most likely need to be fixed ahead of time, thats the type of transparency that I think is hard to find these days.I would rate every experience a 10/10, and customer service being an 11/10. From communitcation to actually driving and enjoying my car. If youre looking for a JDM car I would strongly suggest at least calling and talking to RHD Specialties before you look anywhere else. Already started modding it and making it my own, very happy!

Last year I bought two vehicles (R32 GT-R and Supra RZ / Turbo) from RHD Specialties. I had a smooth process from start to finish. On both occasions I contacted the owner and had photos, videos, full run down of the car the same day. The cars came as described (Also fully serviced) and where ready for heavy modification after they where registered. Keep in mind these cars are 25+ years old and will have some mild imperfections. The stock of their cars are what I call user quality (They may require some cosmetic love but are ready to drive as is) not collector grade (unless noted) you can modify, drive them without worrying about it. Carlos the owner will take care of you and will try to get exactly what you want. If they dont have it in stock they can source it. When I was looking for a Supra I wanted one that was already converted to a single turbo and Carlos found me a Supra RZ with a single turbo set up (As a bonus it was also fully built). If you are looking for an RHD car I highly recommend them.

Picked up a r33 sedan recently and have had it a couple weeks now and love the vehicle. Everything on the vehicle was just like the pictures and how it was described. I live in Arizona so getting as much info about the car was important. Carlos was quick on replying to all my messages and sending over what I asked for.My gas tank was damaged during the shipping process but it would have been hard to prove they did it. Carlos happens to spend most of his time in AZ so he went out of his way to help me out getting some employees to make a weekend trip to come down and help since the r33 gas tank is a pain. That has to be some of the best customer service I have ever had. Anyone could have just left me alone since I signed off on a 25 year old vehicle but he wanted to see me driving one of their cars.I have been driving the car everyday now and love it. EVERYONE BE VERY CAREFUL BUYING FROM THIS COMPANY! Ive seen and heard to many horror stories from ppl that failed to have a reputable shop do a PPI before they bought their car from RHD and a so called clean title wasnt so clean with frame damage and botched welds everywhere underneath the car and others with similar stories. Unfortunately theyre companies like this that take advantage of enthusiasts.Reply to their unprofessional response: I never stated I did business with you guys and I never would after hearing and seeing all the horror stories, so Im just here to warn any of your future customers on how you guys like to do business and how you treat your customers after they purchase a vehicle from you and have issues with that purchase. Heres the facts pal if you guys werent shady you wouldnt have any bad comments and then try to cover them up by replying unprofessionally or taking your reviews off your fb page. My friend that bought his skyline from you is reporting you guys to the BBB and I told him to talk to a lawyer.

I gave him a budget to work with, and he took care of the rest for me.I want to make a disclaimer that all these cars are sold as is. Make sure to look over the car before/after buying. They are old cars and will have issues. In my case I spent about $400 in parts to make this a reliable daily driver if needed. The only thing that would have stopped the car running was a torn timing belt that I replaced. Overall the car is clean, and Im satisfied with the purchase.

From messaging originally inquiring about a car, to Carlos helping me make my purchase as easy as possible because of CA compliance, and Nick helping arrange to finally get the car to CA. I was in the market for a right hand drive Toyota Supra. I reached out to RHD specialties to see what they could do to help me. it was not 20 minutes after I sent the email that I received a phone call from the owner. We chatted on the phone for almost an hour so he could get an idea of what exactly I was looking for. they had one in stock that fit exactly what I was looking for unfortunately it had been reserved only a few hours prior. So we went through some of their in route inventory and agreed on one of them. a few days passed and the car that I initially wanted became available for purchase again. This was my first time dealing with getting a car from out of state without seeing it and so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Carlos and Nick at RHD were extremely helpful with the process. Since these cars are 25+ years old, it is unfair to expect a perfect close to like new car, but it seems like the cars they import are definitely close to that. Carlos and his team did a great job helping me out with finding my skyline, they did a fabulous job on the paint they had done before I bought it and getting it was such a smooth and easy process, they sent good clear pictures of the car and answered every question I had since I wasn’t able to go out and look at the car in person. It did have some minor issues when I got the car but It’s an early 90’s imported sports car you can’t expect it not to. I’m very very pleased with the car and would highly recommend getting a vehicle through them if you want yourself a very clean and well kept import!

I was even more impressed that they took the time to make sure I was aware that California can be tricky to legalize them in prior to selling it. The only thing that went smooth about my entire experience was the buying of the car. 58 days later I had to physically go into the office in an attempt to pick up my license plates due to my temporary ones about to expire and they said they forgot to do the paperwork, so they gave me new temporary plates. A week later I finally got my plates. Not even a month later I had rod knock and the engine died requiring either a rebuild or a swap. I reached out to RHD in an attempt to have them do the work since they seemed pretty knowledgeable on what needed to be or could be done. As I’m writing this my car is still sitting wherever they left it after I dropped it off and nothing has been done. During this period the only contact I got from Carlos (the owner) and RHD was through my initiation, which was roughly every two-three weeks. Multiple times they said they’d came up with a ‘plan’ only to follow through with absolutely nothing. I have texts as proof. Any plan was discussed over the phone. Initially when I dropped off my car I told them exactly what I wanted to have done to it. Either a rebuild or swap with new turbos. Okays from everyone involved and then radio silence. Rinse and repeat until the beginning of September 2020 when they finally gave me the price of everything I wanted only to tell me at the end of September after reaching out to them that the price they gave me didn’t include labor. So now after all this time we finally came to a decision to put the engine set up from Carlos’s personal GTR into mine, but after asking him to put in writing that they were in fact going to do that in a timely fashion (after saying they could do that in 2-3 days) he declined saying he didn’t want to feel pressured or have something go wrong and be on the hook for that (the irony). I reluctantly agreed and he went ahead and sent me some pictures of the compression levels of all 6 cylinders of (maybe) his motor. I then requested a leak down test which for the most part should have been done alongside the compression test, but he declined saying his guys don’t have the time. That was the last straw.I consider myself a patient guy, but man.I tried to look past all the bad things I heard and read about them but maybe there is some truth. Do some research on both this dealership and whatever car you plan on buying extensively before you even consider dealing with RHD.

I was pleased on the transaction of the 1994 Skyline I acquired. Some of the reviews are people just uneducated thinking a 25 year old imported car will run like a 2020 Toyota Camry. I can honestly say with a minor few adjustments and very affordable parts wastegate etc the car has no lag in boost. Thanks Guys. They are even shipping a replacement cluster. I would recommend them. Bought a 93 skyline from this place. I was nervous about the purchase as I had never seen the car in person. When it got delivered, i had a garage insect it thoroughly and he said it is in great condition for its year. The guys at Rhdspecialties took the time to assure me that it is a great running condition vehicle and helped me every step of the way to getting the vehicle.

I purchased my vehicle from RHD specialties and overall it was a decent experience. I reserved the car before it was even in the US. Their shop went over the car and sent me pictures/videos of pretty much any and everything I could have asked for. This included compression testing the motor. Carlos (the owner) was a pretty stand up guy and anytime I needed/wanted anything he got back to me quick and didn’t leave me hanging. It took about 6 weeks from when they titled to me getting a title for the car so it sat for a few weeks after arriving. It did have an decent oil leak that wasn’t disclosed. There were absorbent pads put on the undertray that caught the drops of oil and I didn’t find this until I put the car on a lift to look it over, but I guess you can’t expect perfection from something 27 years old. Changed out the seals and I was good to go, but the pads etc being put there was clearly a method used to hide the oil leak.

I purchased my JDM Subaru STi RA with these guys and the transaction was smooth and the service was amazing. I had a bunch of special requests for the cars servicing as I was driving the car 18 hours home. Carlos, Hung, and Nick took care of all of it without blinking an eye and the car didnt miss a beat all the way home. I highly recommend them if youre in the market for a JDM car or truck.

Yeah they have nice cars. Transactions are shady though. we agreed on some terms verbally and when the contract was sent it was the opposite of what we agreed on. The difference between the deposit being refundable versus non refundable is night and day. I sent the $1000 deposit (the car was already being shipped to the US when I reached out the them) turned out to be $1040. To me that seemed fair then. When I told them I wanted my deposit back, because of the different terms we agreed on on paper and through phone communications changed. The company started being rude and was forcing me to “choose” one. Eventually I got my deposit back less $80 versus the $40 we agreed on. careful when dealing with These people.

Clean cars come with a rusted fuel system, 0 maintenance, and an engine that will fail after 6k Miles.Was told it wasnt purchased at auction so they couldnt supply history papers / Grades. Ran the VIN after buying the car (my mistake). Discovered that it was purchased at auction at the same month they listed it as coming from overseas.Car was an R Grade and had been in a front end accident.FPR began to fail on drive home from purchasing.Car had Black watery oilAir filter was blackFailing Turbo sealsAfter 6k miles failing piston rings. (Probably should have asked for compression numbers but I Assumed it was a Clean car not a rolling shell.Total purchase was $18k and will have put $10k into it just to get it safe to drive.

Within the last month I bought my first true JDM car, did some research and found a few companies, but Carlos, Nick, and the technical team at RHD have been some of the best people I’ve worked with in the automotive industry for a long time. I received my 1995 R33 Skyline GTR V-Spec in absolutely incredible condition, and the few common issues with cars of this age were ironed out quickly and easily. I’ve been driving the car for several weeks now, and have nothing but remarks on how it’s one of the cleanest GTR specimens most people have seen. Carlos is the man! Only thing you need to understand is you are buying a 25 YEAR OLD CAR. So expect it is not show room condition unless of course you spend the $$ for show room condition. Anyway Carlos made my buying experience absolutely amazing. Keeping me updated as frequently as he could. Helped walk me through the whole process and any questions I had a long the way. Provided me a walk around and when I requested a video of the car being driven I had it that night by the time I got home from work. The car is in good shape again I understood buying a 25 year old car to go into it expecting things wouldn’t be perfect and with that said I couldn’t be happier with my R33.
