Clean, organized, and well-stocked with educational posters, workbooks, stickers, craft and bulletin board supplies, as well as educational toys, this place is a real gem in the heart of the city. So glad I stopped in, I found some items that I am going to use right away. I might make use of their laminator next time. The owner is very personable and sweet. This family deserves all the support they can get!

Visited for the first time today and was so impressed by both the store and the owner! Great inventory whether you’re an educator, looking for gift for the special kiddos in your life, or just want something for yourself! We really enjoyed meeting Drew and we’re so grateful for his recommendations both in the shop and for what businesses we should visit around town. Will absolutely be coming back.

As a former teacher, I am tutoring my grandchildren during covid. They have been so knowledgable about products they carry. Their coverage of subject areas is perfect and they could be the nicest people Ive met. They are really helpful as well. They have really helped me find things to help with the tutoring.

My son and I LOVE going in here! It is a neat place to find toys that help kids to learn and to understand that learning isnt boring if you do it right. I have to drag my son out every time we go and he always leaves with something new to learn and play with. They have age appropriate toys for all the learning kids in your family.

I have been going to this store for 30+ years, my mother brought me as a child and now I get to bring my own children. It recently came under new ownership (still a small business) and the owners are SO knowledgeable! They are extremely patient and understanding with the 1,000+ questions you have as a new homeschooling parent. You will find everything you need and more here, workbooks, games, puzzles, educational resources, just to name a few. Everything is very well organized, the displays are very aesthetically pleasing, the store in general is very well put together. We as a community are so fortunate to have this resource at our disposal, please go check them out and remember to shop small!

This store is fantastic! Havent been there in a while since my kids are grown up. Now I get to take my grandchildren. This store has so many learning tools for the kids and great ideas for toys as well! So glad they are still there with a new owner!!

The store has plenty to offer for assisting our kids learning. I walked through the store with my daughter and found many things that I purchased. Every question answered and we were helped at the drop of a dime. I will be returning. Definitely worth leaving a comment.

Personally, I will never return.To be fair, I will list all of the things I thought worked really well for the new owner of this store: the new owner has a very pleasant personality and is very personable; the owner’s gregarious (but very bossy) daughter will play with your children in the child play area while you shop; the new hours of operation are later in the evening than previously offered, the store stocks (a very limited selection of) nice merchandise.Next, I will list all of the areas of improvement needed for this store to attract a customer base (other than personal friends of the owner): most importantly, allow customers access to your store restroom. (I was told the store restroom was not for public use, but the nearest restroom was at the Library. I have no intentions to ever set foot in the Downtown Kent Library bathroom. I certainly would never, ever bring my children in there! Get real, people!) the new owner desperately needs work with a professional marketing company to receive in-depth advice on the principles of running a small business, extensive retail sales display advice, retail customer service advice, retail purchasing advice, retail marketing advice, etc.Narrative:Under the new ownership, the store now looks like a disaster struck! In years past, the store never looked perfect, but now the interior appearance of the store has reached an all-time low. About half of the items in the store do not display a price tag, display racks are not used in an attractive way, the flooring no longer correspond to the paths of the store, there are unattractive gated-off areas of the store, for the sake of professionalism, owner/operators should probably not bring their young children to work, etc.I feel terrible for the owner of this store! I believe the owner has wasted a huge amount of funds in the interest of personal amusement, rather than in the interest of small business profitability.

The people are helpful. The toys are spectacular. If youre looking for things to educate and play, look no further. This place has the stuff. I wish I was a kid with a hundred bucks. If I could re-live my childhood, Id save all those trips to seven-eleven and spend them here.

I have a three year old and I teach Sunday school. They have so much great stuff here for all ages. The toy and game section is up front (all items pretty educational!). Theres a ton of science stuff, engineering sets, Lego, Melissa and Doug, books, puppets. The back part if full of classroom needs from butcher paper to job charts, achievement certificates to info graphics. There are workbooks, teacher guides, calendars. Also plenty of little wind up toys at the front to enjoy :) Helpful, friendly staff. Street parking.

I called for some information and the woman who answered the phone helped me endlessly she actually talked to me for extensive minutes doing her best give me great advice I was really impressed with the customer service in the help that she gave she was extremely helpful and very nice a big thank you to her!

Am finding it difficult to contact them directly. I am trying to find local businesses who are selling purse-size copies of The Constitution to give as Christmas gifts and also send to Lindsey Graham, Donald Trump, Rand Paul, et al.

What a great local business! We were visiting family in the area and wanted to buy a specific game as a gift. They had it in stock and helped us find it quickly. But then we spent another hour looking at all the fun things they had in the store. Some reviews mention that this is pricey, but the items we bought were similar pricing to other similar brick and mortar stores we have been to. The service was great, the selection was good, and its a fun place to spend some time and dollars. Note: this store does not have the German-style board games, so if you are looking for those, youll have to keep looking.

Kent Teaching & Toys has so much, you can shop for hours. Whenever I have a question, it gets answered quickly and thoroughly. One of the staff even offered to unburden me of my load so that I could continue to shop. Thanks for being open even on Labor Day.
