Ive been buying lumber from to State Lumber for 17 years not only do they carry lumber or they carry a lot of cabinet hardware and other accessories for woodworking they have a great selection of exotic Woods Live Edge Lumber wide boards you can hand-pick the boards yourself as long as you would stack the wood back carefully

Ive been buying from P. State for years as a full-time professional furniture maker, and Ive always found them to be fair. That said, if you are a walk-in retail customer (a non-woodworker looking for a few boards for a home project, for example), you may not understand the pricing. Its largely a business catering to pros. Wood prices fluctuate, so having prices on the racks is problematic. Rockler does this, but their prices are insanely high (they buy from wholesalers like P. State). Its a big warehouse without a pretty showroom, with mountains of wood. They get what they can get from the mills. I buy hundreds of boards every year, and sometimes I have to wait for a species to come into stock. This isnt their fault. If you want an easy retail experience, Rockler is a better bet (if you dont mind 1/1000 of the selection P. State has and crazy high prices). P. State gives pros like me better prices than retail because we buy a lot from them. Thats just how it works. In terms of inaccurate board foot calculations written on boards...bring a tape measure. There are thousands of boards. Mistakes happen. These numbers are only written on the retail boards, anyway. In short, great place for pros, a little lacking on the retail, pretty showroom end of things.

This place rocks. Kudos to their management and staff... details matter and their customer service, along with great prices and solid inventory, have won me over. I will no longer be shopping at Suwanee Lumber... Ill make the extra 30 minute drive to Peach State Lumber.

This is a great shop and welcomes walk-ins. Wood is priced reasonably, but you should study up on buying wood by the board-foot and understand the wood types before being critical of the prices. Trying to secure this type of wood online of elsewhere can be quite pricey! Great folks there and always helpful!

Some of the best prices and selection around. We were pleasantly surprised while shopping on a very busy Saturday that they pulled and loaded our order of lots of plywood for us.It is definitely worth the drive across town to buy here!

The place is HUGE. Tons of hardwood of dozens of species; some Id never heard of. Pretty good prices, lumber is mostly straight and not warped. Staff was friendly and accessible. Ill be back. 😁

Easily the best lumber supplier within the metro Atlanta area. Great selection, very knowledgeable and helpful staff, great pricing, I cant say enough. I have several suppliers closer to me, but Ill make the trip to Peach State every time. Theyre the best, no question.

Very few places make me as happy as going to Peach State Lumber. I just love touching the wood. I went today for the first time in a while, to pick up some Baltic Birch. Very good price for very good wood. IMO... there were two younger (than usual for lumber store) people working there I had not met before. They were extremely helpful and polite and made me want to come back.

I rarely have such a great experience in customer service in any environment, but at a lumber yard, completely unexpected! Keith really helped my son find what he needed and treated him like an equal even though hes young and just beginning woodworking. They had the best variety of woods to choose from and have 2 wood experts on hand all the time. A+ plus experience!

Good day daily specials. But buy as much as you need for a project, the deals sell out quickly and you may but be able to get the rarer stuff again predictably because the quantities are limited and prices can be pretty great... Definitely better wood and cheaper than big box stores.

Staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The selection is one of the best for excellent hard woods, including exotics. Its a 45min drive, not as bad as people I see actually come from neighboring states, but without a doubt worth it. The quality and price is of a magnitude better than big box stores and selection selection for hardwoods that contractor suppliers dont come close to. They also sell true Baltic Birch and great slabs.

Explained I was new to wood working and even after I was referred to them by another company they still over priced me. They guy helped me out with selecting the wood. So good service and understanding. The wood is way over priced and he gave me a discount. $56 here and at homedepot $19. Way over priced. Two stars cause of the workers.

I came to scope it out. It was about an hour drive for me. Ill definitely be back to buy stuff. The prices seemed reasonable. I will say there is no price tags anywhere in sight but I flagged down an employee and he was able to give me ballpark prices which I was okay with...

I love this place! Variety and availability are the two things I love the most. The most annoying thing would be no pricing.... You have to ask everytime you go in and they dont always have enough price sheets. No prices takes away my ability to think about the job Im doing or project and less likely to make a faster purchase.Parking is horrible.... Your flow for customers picking up orders or picking through wood is a mess. Make your employees park somewhere else and redo that parking lot..... So much grass there in front of the customer lot..... Entrance to exit needs to be one way.

I have been a patron of Peach State for about 12 years now. From my initial experience and care from the days of my buddy John (rest in peace) the fairness and professionalism is unsurpassed. I have moved 4.5 hours south to Savannah and still make the trip as there is no other place in Georgia that compares for price, quality and customer service.

This place has a shockingly great selection of any wood. The staff is friendly nice and understanding. I bought I large can full of hard wood like maple, white oak and some walnut for 25$. They loaded it in my car and checking out was a breeze. I Never write review and share them but this place has inspired me due to their outstanding service.

I just went here recently for the 3rd or 4th time. They always seem to have something they want to get out the door for a good price. Ive gotten extremely good deals this way.Tip: look at the sale wood to the right as you walk in.I remember going a few years ago as a newbie and they helped me out then.After going to another lumber yard that is closer to home, Im just going to go back here. Its worth the trip. You cant beat the price, selection and employees.

If anyone knows of a place with a better selection and better prices in the Kennesaw/Marietta area, please let me know. I only show up just after they open so there arent a lot of other customers there, but I always get good customer service. They have a great selection of hardwoods and their plywood is the best Ive found.

They have a great selection of products and the prices are very competitive! The problem is figuring out what the prices are. You have to inquire about the price of every product as they dont advertise prices in or out of the store.

This is my first time here. I already miss Atlanta Wood Products. Their pricing is indeed sketchy as others have posted. They have the board feet written on the end of the board. I asked if it is accurate and was told yes. At check out he measured the boards and came up with a higher total board feet. I guess the written amounts are not correct. Then at the cashier, the lumber magically became 10% per board foot higher than what I was told on the floor where there are few items marked with pricing. This is more than stupid, they are either incompetent or crooked. Compared to AWPC, their selection is much less varied in terms of width and length on lumber and cashing out is a painfullong process.

The people here are really friendly and helpful. Woodworking is a hobby for me so I usually buy hardwoods in small quantities for a specific project. Regardless, the people there treat me as if I was from a large cabinet shop buying thousands of board feet.

Peach State Lumber has a great selection of woods, its true. Be sure to bring your own tape measure and double check all measurements they mark down for your boards. I bought 6 boards (white oak and walnut) and they tried to overcharge me around $50 by listing the board lengths and widths as larger than they really were! Sure, they made it right once I pointed it out to the cashier with my own tape measure...Edit:I have been back since the above experience to buy wood last minute that no one else had. The wood selection is still good, but the service is untrustworthy. I bought 5/4 red oak and was oversold by 20% because their boardfoot calculations are incorrect. Charles did leave the sales counter to double check my order and corrected the math, only after rounding all my board dimensions up. Once again, if you go double check measurements AND their math.

Ill start with saying they have a great selection for any project you might be working. I went in to pick out a few walnut and maple slabs. Found a few I liked and had the guys place a hold on them for me, seems to be a normal thing as I saw other pieces on hold. I went back to purchase and they were no longer there. The guy working the floor said he called me and said that I told him I no longer wanted the slabs and that it was past the hold date so they sold the slabs. At the time of this review I still have a week left till my hold date ended and I never received such call. So Im giving 1 star due to lying to my face and then due to their failure delaying a project as I now have to source the pieces I need elsewhere.

Great selection of wood but one of the worst customer services I ever received. Walked in, found some great pieces of wood I wanted to buy, but only the largest piece by far had the price tag of 250, none of the smaller pieces had it. I asked one of the employees about it and he only pointed the obvious: ..this ones 250.. I said, yeah I see, but are they all the same price or you price them by weight, size, thickness, etc..? and he just kept repeating the obvious: ..this ones 250.. !??I asked another employee for help with the prices and he just cut me off saying prices are there. I had to insist for him to come help me, explained only the largest piece has it... and after we got there, he as well just pointed the obvious: ..this ones 250..I went through the same conversation, asked how they price them, and had to flip other pieces just to show him they dont have the price. Finally, he goes somewhere, and comes back few minutes later to tell me: the guy whos in charge is a little busy, can you come back some other day???!!!!Needles to say, I was ready to leave because none of the staff there wanted or cared enough to sell me their products! Person that ended up helping me was not even an employee, it was their supplier or somebody, who happened to be there and knew a thing or two about wood. But it doesnt end there, they send me in their office to pay and surprise, there was nobody there. After few minutes somebody showed up just to send me back out to pay! In total it took about 15 minutes of them sending me back and forth simply to pay!I hate writing this, I work in service industry myself and Im very forgiving, but this was unbelievable. Reading this I wonder where was Knowledgeable friendly staff everyone mentioned? I guess they were on a collective lunch break or something.
