A fair warning to you though; if you want the full experience of browsing several stores and trying on lots of dresses, come here last because you will not walk out of this store without a dress in tow. And once you do, you celebrate! You get to sign the wall, have your picture taken with a rose (that you get to keep!) and a sign stating I said yes to the dress! If you want an impersonal, in and out type of experience, this is not the store for you. Out of every place I went to try on dresses this was the only place that I felt like they actually cared about me. We sat down and talked for awhile and she got to know who I am and what I like. She pulled about 6 dresses and honestly any of them could have been the one she was really good at picturing what I wanted. I highly recommend them. The customer service can not be beat I promise. They also give you little gifts which is very thoughtful. And most importantly they have very good prices. Thank you so much A formal occasion!!!

Great customer service, professional, accommodating, kind and considerate staff. Although my English is limited Formal Occassion used technology to understand my needs. The moment I walked in they made me feel like a welcomed princess. I recommend highly that any bride with desires to find a spectacular selection of modern beautiful dresses to go here first. Although I did not buy my wedding dress here, I will say that out of the 10 plus bridal stores I went to, A Formal Occasion had AMAZING costumer service. Lucinda was very patient and kind with me. She pulled out so many gowns for me to try on which were all beautiful. She has all sorts of styles, beaded not beaded, lace, no lace and yes very modern trendy dresses as well as traditional ones. I was specific with wanting sleeves and each gown that I tried on she would put on sleeves to get a feel for how it would look. I mean she was amazing. They even cleaned my ring for me!! I just happen to find my gown somewhere else. But Im glad I came to this store so I can recommend to any other girls looking. If youre going to multiple places, please put A Formal Occasion on your list.

Do not pass this place up! The have different unique brands than most of the other stores in metro Atlanta. I had an amazing experience. Lucinda’s energy is so infectious, we were laughing the whole time. There was a sign outside with my name on it when I arrived, personable decorations in my changing area, and gifts for me at the end. The process of trying on dresses went so smoothly because Lucinda hands you what you need and helps do all the zippers/buttons. She really listens to what brides want because she is the one who pulled the dress I said “Yes!” to. I got a prom dress here in 2011 and was pleased then, but 10 years later this business is still killing it. I am so excited to wear my dress 8.1.21. Thank you, A Formal Occasion!

My whole experience with this place was amazing! I cannot say enough good things about the staff. This was my first time dress shopping so I was a little stressed. Before my appointment they really got to know me and asked all the right questions. Upon arrival my party and I were welcomed with great attitudes. I was given a little gift, so sweet! They asked about me and my fiancé, what I was looking for in a dress, and how I wanted my dress to make me feel. I felt super comfortable. They really cared about my feelings through the whole process, not just the feelings of my party. We dressed me up like it was my wedding day to get the right feeling I wanted to feel. Once I said yes to the dress, everyone celebrated and was so happy for me. Tears were flowing. They took pictures of us, gave me another gift and let me sign the canvas with my future last name on it. The process of ordering my dress was so simple and easy. After, I received multiple texts of gratitude and encouraging words. They are so sweet. I love this place and highly recommend them!!

Not a very nice place to go. When i was talking to the Lady working she was rude And snooty. If some one goes in with the Intented to buy from your store you should be happy money is money . I will never ever go here or send any one here at any time bad bad store dont go here 🤬

The owners are absolutely amazing! We first came here to rent the grooms suit and Pat helped us with colors and measurements. I came back to look for veils and Lucinda assisted us. We didnt have an appointment and she ended up helping us with wedding dresses! I left with my dream dress and couldnt have been happier! This was the last place Id searched for a dress after going to the usual Davids Bridal and the uppity salons in Buckhead. My friend told me about it because she got her dress there and let me tell you they did not disappoint! EVERY dress I tried on there fit PERFECTLY! I wanted a ball gown, but even tried on a mermaid style and it even looked good! The person helping me, Im blanking on her name because it was over a year ago, was awesome! She paid attention to what I told her and picked out several for me to try on and saved the best for last. It was THE dress. It was all white, but they told me I could get blush so they ordered me the dress in blush and it was beyond perfection! It was so comfortable and I never once had any regrets on spending more than I planned because I wouldve been mad if Id gone the cheap route in the end. It still was VERY affordable and worth every cent! Go check out all the other places and then go to A Formal Occasion. Seriously they make the whole experience special and are all about you not the sale.

Lucinda and her staff at A Formal Occasion are incredible to work with. I called her shop to see if they carried a particular dress I was interested in trying on. They didnt carry it but were able to have it shipped from the warehouse for me to try on. Lucinda took notes during our phone call and asked me some questions about my wedding and the type of dress I was looking for. When I arrived, she welcomed us in and asked a few more questions about my preferences and then we got started trying on the dresses she had selected for me to try on, including the one I had initially called about. I never once felt rushed or pressured. After two hours of trying on 6 dresses and narrowing down contenders, I picked the dress that I had originally called about. Lucinda and her staff are fantastic at what they do. They truly go the extra mile with added touches to make your special day that much more personal.

Honestly, the day I chose to pick out my dress I was a little overwhelmed and not too enthusiastic about trying on gowns. I wasn’t in a very confident mood, but my mom came with me for support.Immediately upon entering A Formal Occasion, we were greeted with a bubbly and energetic Lucinda! Everything she did from that first moment was completely personalized and thoughtful. My name even appeared on signs to dedicate my bridal space! She sat me down to interview me about what I was looking for and then led me around to pick out dresses. She made a very overwhelming task seem manageable.Lucinda stayed with us for a full 2 hours until I found the dress of my dreams (which happened to be the first one I tried on). She coached me and supported me through every dress. She also made suggestions about adding details and alterations that completely transformed an otherwise simple dress. I cannot recommend this bridal shop highly enough!! My experience was a memory Ill never forget. They personalized the appt by writing my name around the place and asking questions to better understand what I was looking for. Katie was super sweet and helpful from beginning to end and I appreciate her patience with me as I considered each dress. This was an amazing experience. Katie made me feel comfortable and welcomed. I requested a last min appointment the night before. They called me before the store opened to advise that they could see me that morning. I took my 6yr old with me and It was not an issue..Katie turned what could have been a stressful event into a exciting adventure. She was amazing to work with..I was able to find my dress on the first try and take it home that day.. We will be going back to order 4 suits..I would recommend all brides to go see them for their dress. They also had a large selection of plus size dresses that were beautiful..

This was about the 8th shop I had visited and It was more than I had ever dreamed of.From the gorgeously decorated shop with just the perfect amount of sparkle to the consultant that really helped all my dreams come true it was fantastic. The minute I walked into the store I felt welcomed. Katie greeted me and my party right after walking through the door and it just continued to get better and better. This was already my 2nd bridal shop of the day, was overwhelmed and still had 1 more store to go to. She said this should be fun not stressful. She turned my whole feeling around and I was in awe. She asked what I liked or was looking for. And she picked out everything I asked for. Each fress I tried on got better and better. Picked by top 2 dresses. And she surprised me with what I REALLY wanted. And won me over. My words are not expressing how much I enjoyed being there. And how amazing katie customer service was, being that I work in customer service also I know what to expect. And she went above and beyond. She was not pushy and forcefull with making me get a dress right there on the spot like I went through that morning. But you have this feeling when you find your dress and know its the one. I SAID YESSSSSSSS TO THE DRESS!!!I will recomend a formal occasion to anyone who asks. Im still amazed about how amazing they did. And Im madly in love with my dress. I wish I started off with them. I found this store while driving by in the area and what a great find! The staff was very friendly, helpful, listened to what I wanted and had a variety of dresses to try on. I never felt pressured to go with a certain dress or purchase - I truly felt their goal was just to help you find what you were looking for by asking how you felt in each one you tried on. With everything going on with COVID, I felt very safe trying on gowns in this location being a small business as there were hardly any other people inside while I was there for my appointment. If you’re worried about tuxedos for the guys, you need to come to this place. They have lots of colors and combinations to choose from!My experience was 10/10.

On my daughter’s day off we planned to hit a few wedding gown stores on the main road in Kennesaw. We didn’t realize, however, that everything was appointment only- even to browse. About the time we were ready to call it quits, we called A Formal Occasion and Lucinda immediately answered. They were super friendly and made us feel super comfortable. They helped my daughter find the perfect gown, just for her. We mentioned needing a few modifications for modesty purposes, and we were shown beautiful ways that their recommended seamstress could accommodate that, without losing the elegance of the dress. I am so glad we found our dress there! A day I remembered being stressful 24 years ago as a future bride, was the most enjoyable experience at A Formal Occasion. No photograph signs are posted, but they take some for you and email as momentos. I found my dream dress at A Formal Occasion. I had been to at least four other stores trying on dresses and nothing really caught my eye. I thought I had fallen in love with one, but I realized it wasnt for me. When I came to A Formal Occasion everyone was so friendly and welcoming. My consultant was Katie and she was amazing! She sat down with me and asked me all about my venue and my visions for my venue, wedding day and wedding dress. She also asked to see pictures of my venue. Katie found five gowns for me to try on, and within minutes I found the dress that was meant for me. I would never have picked it for myself, but Katie knew it would look great on me. I will say that I am a plus size bride and all the gowns I tried on fit me fairly well. Some may have been a bit too big, but none were too small that I can remember. So they truly do have a variety of sizes to be tried on. I also found my veil and earrings while there. Their prices are very reasonable to me because their gowns are more exclusive and not the same gowns you see at all the bridal chain stores. I love that I got a dress that is unique to me without being custom made. I will highly recommend A Formal Occasion to anyone looking for a wedding dress or anything wedding related. I will also be returning in a few years for a vow renewal dress and I already cant wait!

I went to several wedding dress shops in the Atlanta area, but it was my experience at, A Formal Occasion, as well as the beautiful dress, that lead me to purchase my gown there.Their genuine customer service and one-on-one service was refreshing and fabulous! I hope anyone in the Atlanta area will check them out! They have a great selection and were so wonderful to work with! I am so happy with my dress and cant wait to wear it at my wedding in February!

They’re the best!! I’ve had a long line of bad wedding dress shopping experiences for the past several weeks and was starting to feel really sad about the whole process. I decided to give A Formal Occasion a shot, since they have a smaller, friendlier, more boutique vibe than most other places I’ve been. Don’t let that fool you, though; they have a huge selection, and they won’t break the bank!Lucinda is awesome! I feel that she really cared that I found a dress that I love, and that I feel like (my version of) a princess on my wedding day. She really listened to how I was feeling and my vision for the wedding, and she managed to keep the whole experience from becoming overwhelming, which was really helpful since my past several shopping experiences at other stores have made me feel pressured.We were the last appointment today, and although we were there past closing time, never once did I feel rushed. Got my prom dress from this location a few years ago and loved it!A beautiful pale pink empire dress with crystals. reasonable price for great quality.THEN, I decided to come here to find a wedding dress. I didnt have my hopes up at first because the store is small, but they have so many dresses!!! The owner was very nice and helpful with finding me a dress for a beach wedding. I got a lace fitted dress with cup sleeves and I cant wait to see it when I go in for alterations!Great customer service, wonderful dresses and affordable prices! (payment plans!)Thank you!!!

This shop is amazing! I was looking for something that was different than every other wedding dress Ive seen and they had a wide variety of dresses that were unique and beautiful! After having gone to several other shops, I found the perfect one here. But besides finding the perfect dress, the experience and customer service made the day special. 100% recommend! A Formal Occasion was my first and last stop when I went wedding dress shopping. I heard about a storewide sale they were having and called to make an appointment. I was on the phone for several minutes as she asked about what I was looking for. The service is very individualized which i loved! When I arrived, i expected there to be several other brides trying things on, but I was the only one scheduled at that time, so all the focus was on me! They really helped me realize what i had in mind. And my dress was 50% off!!

I have had the best experience with A Formal Occasion. I went in on a whim and they treated me like I had paid them to wait on me. Lucinda took lots of time with me, and after I went back and tried dresses on multiple times, they always had the same patience for my pop-in visits and their dresses are beautiful but not overpriced like some places. I even ended up doing bridesmaids dresses with them because of the level of care they always had with us and the quality of the dresses.

They rent and sell formal wear for weddings and special occasions. Price is very reasonable on some items but some, in my estimation, are over-priced. Small place that is locally owned and operated. Been here for years serving the local community.

These ladies were so wonderful and exactly what I needed in my wedding dress consultants. They were patient with me and centered on guiding me through my own thoughts and feelings about THE dress (whether it was in their boutique or not). They purposefully never shared an opinion. Even when I begged for it. In the end, I was wavering between two dresses after I had boiled 15 favorites down to the final two, one at A Formal Occasion, and one at another store. I tried them both on again, back to back. Both perfect for me and the venue setting, both gorgeous, both in budget, both very different from each other. I listened to my heart and remembered the guidance they gave me. Their advice was the only of its kind out of all the stores, warehouses, and boutiques I went to. With that, I was able to make a decision with my heart and my brain. I am forever grateful for them.

With three months to prepare for a wedding, most bridal shops confined me to their sample rack of goofy dresses. I walked into A Formal Occasion and Lucinda knocked my socks off with the intimate, personalized display of a variety and quality of dresses! They were so beautiful!! Im a slow thinker when it comes to big decisions, and she was SO gracious and SO helpful. Her advice was precious, as she encouraged me to consider an array of factors Id never thought of in order to find the perfect dress for me. Pushing a sale was NOT her agenda, as she truly wanted to help me and give me peace of mind whether I found a dress or not. Ive never seen so much care in a business. Again, I am astounded by A Formal Occasion. I have lived in the area my whole life and I never knew this place was such a treasure!

I had visited one other bridal boutique that day before coming here and I had felt so defeated and down after leaving the first appointment that I wasnt super excited to continue dress shopping. I did hold out hope because while going through my nightmare appointment the staff at formal occasion sent me a text of how excited they were to meet me and a picture of the space they had set up for me and my family ♥️ Once arriving I was greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our space. The vibe in the store is very comfortable and inviting. Nothing ever felt rushed. I was asked many questions (I believe by Katie) and she asked all the right questions about what styles I like, the fit, how I want to feel, and all that good stuff. She showed me to their sale area and said I could pick out any in that room I liked or wanted to try on so I picked two then she said she would be right back. A few minutes later I see her and Pat pulling out some of the most gorgeous dresses I had ever seen, they all exceeded my expectations. My biggest worry was that they wouldnt fit me or they would be way out of my price range (they looked very expensive). Katie must have a magic eye because every dress I tried on fit perfectly, I didnt feel self conscious at all and most of all I felt beautiful. Even better all the dresses I tried on were well within my budget. The last dress I tried on checked off every single box for how I dreamed of my dress to look and I truly believe it was fate that they had just gotten this dress in the store and it fit me perfectly. Needless to say I bought the dress that day and I couldnt be happier. Truly one of the best experiences I have ever had and it feels so good to walk into a place where the people can make you feel so secure and truly listen to your needs and wants to help you find the dress of your dreams. I couldnt imagine getting my dress from anywhere else! As soon as I walked in Lucinda sat me down and wanted to get to know more about me and my fiance as well as the type of wedding I was having. From there she picked out dresses that she thought I would like. I went with a fairly large group and not on purpose but my voice was starting to get lost. Lucinda notice this immediately and looked at me and she said what do you want what do you want to try on. She made sure that she was catering to me and no one else. The first dress that I tried on was the one! I had other appointments and to be honest as soon as I left the shop I didnt want to go anywhere else. I highly recommend you looking for your wedding dress at A Formal Occasion!

The owner takes a personal interest in finding the right dress for you.. It was a little overwhelming but not matter where you are it always is. When you make an appointment they make sure it is all about you the bring you dresses in your size. No fussing through racks of of dresses you describe it they will find it. Its less pricey and more personal than most bridal stores.

I cant say enough how amazing my experience was. I was given the best service imaginable. I found the dress of my dreams in my size and when the manufacture had problems and it came in late the owners of the store drove my dress to me four hours away. AMAZING! They went above and beyond especially when they had no control or fault in the lateness of the dress. I cant recommend them more. I would never let anyone I know go anywhere else. Amazing people amazing service.

I walked into this shop with a $1000 max budget including tax and alterations. I told them my style and they hand picked 5 perfect dresses. The last dress was not only in my budget but the most beautiful dress ever. Great dresses, great prices, great people!!!!

I went to A Formal Occasion approximately 6 weeks before my wedding which was in July 2017. I had been to several other bridal shops and looked online for gowns, to no avail. In a state of total frustration, I decided to stop in A Formal Occasion about 15 minutes before they closed. I walked in and was greeted by Lucinda. She was very pleasant and she listened carefully while I described the style of gown I wanted. Within minutes, she returned with the perfect gown! It was exactly what I was looking for and Lucindas suggestions for add-ons (i.e. cap sleeves, jeweled sash and a choker) added just the right touches to an already beautiful gown! Thankfully, the gown was a good fit right off the rack! I had a few alterations and with the addition of the cap sleeves and the sash, it was perfect! I definitely recommend A Formal Occasion to anyone who is looking for a beautiful gown, good prices and great service!

Amazing in every sense of the word is not even close to describing this shop! The staff and owner are absolutely fabulous. This was the 4th store I went to and had woke up that morning thinking I had found my dress. My mom made this appointment and encouraged me to check it out. I am very glad she convinced me to go because I FOUND MY DRESS there! The best part was that they had the dress that I thought I loved so was able to try them on and compare. This shop is stunning inside and is definitely worth your time checking out.

They really take interest in your vision. I went in there thinking I already found my dress else where. Then the owner insisted I try on a few dresses he brought out 3 in particular and 1 he said he knew I would love. I returned later tried them on and fell in love with the one he originally stated I would like. They have been so kind and professional.
