Not a transmission shop.More like A LIEbrary, where the fiction is HIGH, like SCIENCE FICTION, futuristic dreams of a Silverado pioneering space without any motor or transmission. .While there, in the office, I did notice a fictional book titled: I wanna be a transmission mechanic when I grow up. I wonder if they actually read it, or another disgruntled costumer secretly dropped it off.The owners wife, lied to me, said she was going to give me my money back, but because she didnt like my comment about Maddies Garage in Hillsboro could teach them how to rebuild transmissions, she wasnt going to.Im a single father of two little girls, I already got burnt by Always Affordable Auto in Vancouver when I bought my 99 Silverado for $5,000, with a bad transmission. Not even a 4x4.I paid $2,000 for the rebuild at Generation Transmission in Warren Oregon before they took over Thomas Transmission in Longview. It only lasted 6 months. They rebuilt it under warranty. It went out again within 6 months. By now they had moved all the way over to Longview, and I took it there for them only to do a transmission service job for $350. It went out a few weeks later on, just as I became employed at Bretthauer Road Oil, where the awesome owner, Steve Bretthauer hooked me up with Maddies Garage, and helped me pay the new rebuild off: $3,000. And let me borrow the company truck; all within the first week of employment.I have excellent reviews for Bretthauer Road Oil and Maddies Garage, but nothing good to say for Generation/ Thomas Transmission.

These guys were great...we limped in on one gear in our van and they did great work at a reasonable price. It would have been really easy to take advantage of out of towners with a stranded van, and they were kind, helpful, and prompt getting it back on the road. Highly recommend.

I bought a used truck, and 2 days after I got it the transmission went out. Thomas transmission hooked me up with a rebuild and now it shifts smoth like butter. Im so happy. Thank you Thomas transmission.

Look, you can shop around and call everyone in town or take it to your buddy who works on cars, but when it comes down to transmission work you cant crawl under the car and check to see if it was done right or at all.You need someone you can TRUST with EXPERIENCE in TRANSMISSIONS!You may not like what is broken or how expensive a transmission rebuild is but when you need one fixed YOU WANT IT DONE RIGHT!I have one the ugliest 1994 full size suburban with 260,000 miles and a transmission that wasnt shifting between 2-3 and then became stuck in first gear. THOMAS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS took it in, did the rebuild, and did an amazing job! RUNS GREAT, and feel confident that the work done was DONE RIGHT!It was awesome to do good honest business with a family owned local shop!

My dad had his transmission rebuilt/replaced at AMCO in Astoria for $6000 . After a year & 1/2 with many delays, run arounds, excuses & trips back and forth to the shop to try & get it working right and no luck, the warranty ran out (what a shocker).I called Herb & talked to him about it & made an appointment. When we got there they diagnosed it & gave us an estimate. We asked about making an appointment to work on it and to save us another trip they worked on it immediately. They pulled the pan, found the problem and did some extra work to fix it. The fix was perfect & the price was exactly the estimate.I will be encouraging all of my friends, and my fellow workers at the WAUNA mill to have their transmission work done here !Phil Shoop JR

Rebuilt my tranny in my truck less then 12months later tranny went out. took it somewhere else and found out he put used parts in . totally ripped me off !! then wouldnt even fix what he did wrong . never go there or ever recommend anyone to him👺👺
