Tried this coffee place today for the first time,was lured in by the delicious coffee aroma and boy I am not disappointed! Love the cozy,inviting atmosphere! Discovered this hidden gem bc of the festival and plan on visiting again!!Staff was pleasant and personable on top of that which is always a plus!!

The coffe is amazing, and the people who work there are friendly. In in town for work, and Ive gone twice already, and I bought a few bags of coffee to take home. If youre in the area, check this place out.

A hidden gem in old Katy downtown

What a lovely place to stop for coffee. Enjoyed this little shop so much the coffee was wonderful. My daughter and I found a nice little nook with comfortable armchairs to visit, where we sipped and savored our drinks. We plan to visit again. Cant wait!

This place is amazing. Karen is the best and the coffee is top notch. I love hanging out and working in the super cozy environment that she has created. It is also a great place to get all of your recovery swag: Chips, book covers, t-shirts and much more. I would recommend this local coffee spot to anyone.

Very good coffee, we ordered the Ghirardeli with caramel shots and the coffee was sooo smooth. Mocha frappe was good too but I like the Ghirardeli much better. Love the eclectic vibe. Will definitely frequent this unique coffee shop.

Great coffee shop. Espresso is always good, and cream is always cold. The owner and all employees are really nice and friendly(no rude hipsters lol). It’s also a chill place if you want to relax and have your coffee.

I used to love this place so much! I didn’t mind drive 20 miles just to seat there and enjoy a great coffee..... But today was awful 😵 I ordered my coffee with almond milk as always, because I’m allergic to any dairy 🥛 and my friend ordered a strong coffee ☕️.... well my coffee had milk and I ended up running to get my meds in order to breathe and his coffee was a simple americano...... Both coffees ended up in the trash can! 😪

I LOVE Serene Beans. I met my sponsor at a 12 step meeting hosted at Serene Bean. The employees are amazing and Karen, the owner, is so kind to everyone who comes into the shop. Serene Bean has allowed me to attend recovery meetings, catch up with friends, hold meetings, and get away from home to spend time working on my own biz. I am blessed and thankful for this unique shop in Katy, Texas!!

I cannot rave about Serene Beans enough! Located in the heart of old Katy, this eclectic coffee shop offers so much more than coffee. Its inviting and charming atmosphere includes plenty of comfortable seating throughout the home and in the backyard, an excellent assortment of drinks and treats, and a gift shop filled with handmade gifts, books, jewelry and more. In addition to the coffee house, Serene Beans is home to Fun Soaps, a masseuse and Chrysalis Counseling. Dozens of groups hold meetings throughout the coffee shop and in the meeting room, including 12 Step groups, book clubs and support groups. The monthly pop-up markets showcase local vendors and artists, and special events such as live music, murder mystery dinners and art classes make Serene Beans a favorite venue for people of all ages. The backyard is dog-friendly, too! I absolutely love Serene Beans, and you will, too!

I always really liked this coffee shop. It’s very nice to go to in Katy. I think the coffee is my favorite coffee in the entire world because I’ve tried a lot of coffee places but the taste can never match up with this place. I don’t go back a lot but if it was closer to my place I’d be a regular. But then again I don’t even drink coffee a lot anymore. If I were to pick up my habit again I would definitely go here.

The owner of this shop gets a 0 for being personable! Witnessed her on several occasions being extremely rude to people outside the business! Definitely need to enroll in anger management classes if you plan on being successful in a small town! There are plenty of shops with way better customer service. Dont waste your time supporting this rude business owner!

Found this amazing place a few months after moving to the area. Great coffee & espresso, friendly staff (who greeted the regulars by name), awesome playlist, and a fantastic atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

If you want to have a glimpse a taste of Europe escape to La Madeleine‘s. Good food. Great variety. Their soups and desserts are excellent. And in winter it is one of our favorites because of the very nice and cozy fireplace. We go here frequently and we love this place.

I really enjoy this place. They recently moved and thought that they had gone out of business, I thought that to be impossible! Of course it was, turns out they just moved to a great location. I love small, non-chain, coffee shops. This place is perfect. Ive met the owner a few times and shes very friendly and works hard to get you a great cup of coffee! Thank you for being an alternative option to Starbucks! Remember: Friends dont let friends drink Starbucks ;)

What a cute little place. I was in Houston/ Katy for a couple weeks for business and found this little gem. The drinks are all hand crafted, delicious and fresh. The owner is a wonderful woman who is so easy to talk to and accommodating. The decor is unique and cozy, with a table being made from a converted headboard/ footboard on a bed. There are huge sofa chairs for you to curl up on with a book, or tables to work on your laptop. While there, there were several customers who were regulars. When my time was up to go home from Katy, I was a little sad that I wasnt going to be able to visit this special little spot again. Highly recommended!

Not exactly the serene experience I was expecting. I ordered a vanilla latte after politely declining the new white chocolate vanilla latte the owner wanted me to try. Even after I told her no thank you she repeatedly insisted it was good. I agreed it probably was a good flavor, but my wife prefers just a regular vanilla latte. To which she responds rather aggressively, “How does she know if she doesn’t even try it!” I’m thinking great, now I have to defend my order from a grouchy owner and her new product line. What really sucks is I’d already paid and left a 20% tip. The vanilla latte was okay, but the mocha was not good at all.Oh well, there are lots of coffee shops in town. I try to support locally owned stores when possible instead of the ubiquitous coffee chain... Time to find another one.

I’ve been going to Serene Beans since they opened. There’s really no place like this around. The atmosphere is like going to visit a friend in their living room and having great tasting coffee or a smoothie there. I have several business meetings here because of the relaxed environment as well as friendly staff. Weather permitting, sitting outside in the back is a very “serene” experience as well. 10 stars for Serene Beans!

This place is a hidden gem. Its so cozy and unique. They have a drink called Keto Karen thats is delicious. I stopped in randomly and Im glad I did.

They were friendly enough and have nice seating areas in three different rooms (cozy). A nice big yard with good shade trees and ample seating. However they are not very organized and had run out of several items.

Their coffee is very good. Their location is idea because its right near all tthe events in Old Katy. The owner is kind. I love supporting our local business owners

First time visit. Sat on the front porch in a rocker in the cool evening weather with a good cup of coffee and watched the world pass by. Nice place, very relaxed, friendly staff, great atmosphere. Will be back soon.

I come in almost every day if not then every other day. Either way, this is my quite time. I mostly study here and or do family planning. They are so welcoming and great. I always get a hot 20 oz White Chocolate Mocha whipped or Ill get a Twisted Pecan. I would definitely recommend them to anyone, and I have!

If your looking for a quiet cup of coffee or would like to strike up a conversation this is your place. The staff is friendly and helpful. You might just run into the owner, Karen, who will bend over backwards to make sure you have what you want. They have a great backyard where you can take your kids or your dog... Just make sure your kids are on a leash ;)

I wouldnt even go in this shop after watching the owner yell at people. I understand that there is a craft show but that is no excuse for yelling at people in the front of your shop.

I wanted to love it, but I did not. First time in and I ordered a banana and strawberry smoothie. It was not blended well and had chunks of ice and a brownish tint. I felt sick to my stomach after drinking about half and I threw the rest away.My friend asked if I had ever had an iced coffee and I explained that I had tried my daughters drink once and not cared for it. The owner overheard and was concerned it had been something from her place. I said no, it was Starbucks, and then she went off on how I shouldnt compare her place to Starbucks etc. etc.. but I hadnt been and I wasnt even talking to her in the first place. I didnt appreciate that. I gave it three stars because several of my friends like it and I think maybe it was just an off day. If I ever go back and its better Ill update.

Amazing local coffee shop thats located in the downtown Katy area. If you are looking to try something different that you cant really get anywhere else, I recommend getting The Karen or the Twisted Pecan.
