Really cute coffee shop, clean and quaint. I ordered a flat white, so good, Love the fact that the Cups have the word LAVA on it, so cute! looks like your drinking lava.. lol. If you would like a really good cup of coffee and a coffee shop that is not so busy, I got my coffee in less than five minutes or so. Staff is very nice and there is an amazing artist on site, they have art on some cups not sure if you can use those cups but they look pretty cool. I will be definitely be back again. Give them a try, it’s always good to support our local businesses

New to the area and found this gem of a coffee shop. The rose muffin was moist and tasty along with a flat white made with oat milk.

Tripped over this place after leaving a business in the same shopping center and Im so happy to have stopped by! The baristas were so nice and knowledgeable on coffee! Love their creative selection of specialty and seasonal drinks! Highly recommended!

Hands down the best coffee anywhere. I drive significantly out of my day at least 5 times a week to get my lava coffee. The shop is a great place to work or hang out. Love the vibe. I recommend you quit giving your money to starbucks and be a Lava Coffee regular!

Lava is probably our favorite coffee place in the Katy area. Their flavorful iced latees are worth the small surcharge from a place like Starbucks, and the atmosphere is always very relaxed.

Awesome place to eat, drink, and study! It’s so cozy and the baristas are great! Every drink I’ve tried has been good every single time. I have yet to try the pastries they offer but they all look so delicious. Overall a nice environment if you want to study or read ☺️

Relaxed lighting, comfortable seating, and jazzy music make this a great quiet place to read a book. Their munchies are all quite tasty. Their lattes are ok, theyre just not that flavorful, unlike their yuzu lemonade which is intense! Fantastic service too. Easily one of my favorite places to relax with a snack.

I love coming to this place! They have a great selection of coffees. I typically get the frappes since they have a lot of flavor. It’s a good quiet spot to be able to study.

I get delivery from here all the time, they always label and decorate the cups with smilies and hearts ❤ Coffee is always great quality, and to the barista that was lovely enough to spell my name correctly, ë and all, THANK YOU!

First time coming here and was pleasantly surprised. Staff is friendly and the space is warm and comfortable. Definitely a good place to come and study or get work done. We’ve tried their Honey Bear Latte and Domino Mocha and both were delicious. Definitely will be back!

I love how attentive the barista was. She answered all the questions that we had patiently (they have many varieties of coffee menus, which I love that for its going to take a little bit of time to read through). I decided to order iced Blackmoon latte, which is a combination of their special house syrup and dark chocolate. I love the flavor of this combination a lot and house syrup is quite unique taste. But 4 stars is because I was missing the actual coffee aromatic taste, maybe it was masked by the syrup or espresso shots were strong enough. Anyway, still an enjoyable glass

I love this place so so much. I live 20 minutes away but drive is worth it! This place is peaceful and quiet, perfect for studying! They have a unique selection of traditional coffees, non-coffee cold drinks, teas, and specialty coffees! I personally always go for the honey bear latte because she has never let me down, but it’s definitely worth it to try their whole menu! And their social media presence with the barista series is super engaging and cute!

If you’re looking for a casual coffee place with a soft industrial vibe, this is it. Fantastic service, terrific latte and chai, and tasty bakery treats make this a good choice to meet friends or even study. Easy access to I-10 and 99 make this a convenient place to stop, as well. I just wish they were open later in the evening, at least on weekends.

Whoop whoop! Katy is finally opening its doors to more local coffee shops. Move on from starbucks and support a local brewer. Lava will rotate through different beans which offers customers the opportunity to experience different flavors/tones.I got the dirty coffee and an autumn spiced latte. The dirty coffee is a split of milk and espresso. A perfect introductory espresso drink for anyone who is a little worried about the strong bitter tones. Super smooth with a rich fruity undertone.The autumn spiced latte is perfect for the everyday joe who wants a little sweetness in their life. I avoid lattes at starbucks as the syrup/sugar level overwhelms the coffee flavor. However, the spiced latte has the right balance of sweetness. Every spice pops up with every sip but the coffee beans are never lost.There are power outlets for anyone who wants to work! Cute cafe vibes paired with great coffee is a win-win in my book. Try it out!

Great coffee shop, music is good, coffee great, and atmosphere is incredibly welcoming. I have found myself in here for hours working and not feeling out of place!

The place looks and smells great, but the service was iffy. We walked in (after the state-wide mask requirement was lifted) and we saw NO ONE wearing masks. And yet we were asked to come back when we had masks on. Please tell me why we were asked to wear masks when absolutely no one else here was?!? (See pic) To top it all off, we came back and I asked for a plain latte. They gave me a freaking cappuccino. How can you be a coffee shop and not know the difference!?!

This has been on my mind for a long time to do a review. After more than dozen visits I am extremely happy to mention that Lava if you have already been should be your go to for Katy folks seeking delicious teas and coffees. I had the Hulk which is a matcha latte and it was great ( just like the 6 other times I have ordered it!) I must mention I haven’t tried the entire menu but most of their items that I have tried have been delicious ! Don’t get me started on the cheesecake items! Good job Lava hope to keep coming back in the near future.

Lava Coffee is an amazing coffee shop! I have been a patron several times now and each time I go I have an ever better experience. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful. I love drinking the java and mocha frappes! One time they were out of the delicious cheese danishes and one of the baristas helped me decide which pastry to purchase after discussing several options. It was great! Today I met my friend there and she loved the coffee shop as well. We cannot wait to come back. I am thrilled this coffee shop has opened! 🙂

Nice coffee shop with adequate seating. I met a colleague for a business meeting; the WiFi connection was strong and the bathroom was clean. I had a regular coffee and apple strudel. The service was friendly and the hand drawn smiley faces on the cups were a nice touch.

Cozy space, great drinks and creative menu. A must stop for any coffee lover in west Houston and very convenient location. I have had about half the latte menu selection so far and have yet to get one I don’t care for. Campfire is my favorite, just like drinking a roasted marshmallow.

I come here often on my lunch break. They always have quick and delicious drinks and food! I absolutely love the muffins, all made fresh in house every day and with the most satisfying flavors, like earl grey, rose, and pistachio! My personal favorite is the pumpkin one (: Give Lava a shot, youll love it!

Walked in to try this place based off all the good reviews. Looked very cozy place to grab a coffee or hangout. The barista was helpful in recommending a seasonal drink and described the cheesecake flavors I was looking at. I got an iced Cinni Minni and a butter beer flavored cheesecake. Definitely recommend this place and will be returning!

Ive been here a few times. Every drink Ive had here has been excellent (HIGHLY recommend the lavender latte or the lavender lemonade if thats up your alley). Also the first avocado toast Ive had that was actually worth the price. The barista was very sweet, excellent service.

The very 1st time I went was during the 1st week this store was open. Then the pandemic occurred. I was so happy to receive a promotional text to stop by and try Myriams latte special. I went on Nov 4th to try the special. It was DELICIOUS!!!!!

The coffee here is really good. They offer different options. I had the Java chip frappe, and it was one the best ones I’ve had.

Tried the Saha Sunset which was a unique flavor combination of lemonade, prickly pear, and passion fruit . Staff was very friendly and patient.

First time here, and its exactly everything I want in a coffee place. The coffee is fantastic and more importantly, the baristas know how to make an excellent cup of coffee. Decor and music are beautiful, perfect if you just want to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or have some work done on your laptop. Will absolutely be back soon.

When we came no one was here. Service was lacking and no attempt at making us feel welcome. If there isn’t another customer in your store maybe bring the food/beverage to the table and just add a little customer service. The cappuccino is lacking and the espresso is weak and was scalded. The sausage breakfast croissant is lacking and is on the same level of a premade Jimmy dean breakfast sandwich. We ordered 3 of them. One without cheese and they said “oh I guess we can just pull off the cheese”... like obviously you can pull the cheese off, I don’t need a walk through of what needs to be done to take care of it... and one of the sandwiches came out cold. We mentioned it and they remicrowaved the sandwich.**In response to the owner. You chose to deflect from my main issues by placating my issue of not receiving sit down service which is not what I walked in expecting; however, as the ONLY customer in there your representatives could easily go the extra mile. You decided to not mention the cold food or that the same sandwich was just remicrowaved and reserved with the bite out of it. The cappuccino was predominantly steamed milk and tasted scalded, I suggest you check the settings if you just have them preset. As far as trying a signature drink, we got the peppermint mocha and it too was not great and had far too much peppermint extract that it was almost medicinal, but the interior design is nice.

Excellent service, very clean and nice atmosphere. Housemade syrups for drinks and pastries are made in house as well. Cant wait to go back and try more specialty coffee drinks!
