This is an excellent repair shop. Had my backup camera go out on my Ford fusion and these guys worked their tails off to get it right. I had a warranty so warranty company required them to order a cheaper camera which did not work. MD made sure I got the Ford rear back up camera as a replacement and that one worked. Mark, who runs the front desk was awesome and extremely patient with me as I asked him many questions about my back up camera as well as having my brakes replaced. Believe me, I asked him a lot of questions! He was very patient the entire time. there was another gentleman that occasionally was up front who was just as kind and patient. I did not catch his name.They also gave me a loaner car since they had to have mine longer than they expected due to ordering another part. Jeff, the technician who worked on my car called me twice to talk to me about the back up camera. He even had me come in to see what the problem was with the first camera. Now that’s dedication to your customers!!! Very reasonable on prices as well. I will definitely go here in the future for any repairs or replacement of parts. I would highly recommend MD Auto Repair of Kansas City.

Wasnt very professional. Nor courteous. Supposed to have a service done and drop off my car. Appointment was made a week in advance. He Wasnt prepared. Did first thing in the morning cause I had to be at work. Waited an hour. Needless to say I was late to work. Nothing got accomplished.Update i called the owner. She took care of everything about a month ago. A week after I called her. Service was performed and so far no issues. Very polite, respectful and treated me great! Would recommend at this point. Ty!

I was sent here because my insurance company chose them.My catalytic converter got stolen and I needed a replacement and the parts associated. Like the oxygen sensor which was the whole conundrum as you will see.They have been very personable always. I appreciate that and commend them on their public relations.As to the service I had to go back 5 times.5 times!To fix the part they “fixed”My car isn’t new so I often expect some added complications.The issue I have with this company is that they never respected my wish to fix the issue. 3 of the times I brought it in they told me it wasn’t broken and just re-set the sensor. Then the 4th they told me it wasn’t in fact the part that the sensor said was broken but I needed to pay them $600 to clean the engine and that would fix the issue that the car thought was the part. (Oxygen sensor)Then I took it to 3 more mechanics to get other opinions to be sure. All of them said. “Yup, it’s the oxygen sensor alright.”And the Honda dealer said maybe they used a cheep part and sometimes that doesn’t interface well with this engine.So I went back a 5th time and asked that they fix the part (and not ask me for cleaning costs roughly equivalent to the cost of the work they were going to have to do to fix their mistake...)As soon as they did that work it runs amazingly.They aren’t close to my house.In total I’ve driven 10 hours and equivalent tanks of gas to get them to do the work they were paid to do the first time.I was excited to find personable mechanics but realized that the work spoke for itself and I will never be coming back unless the work they did breaks again.

I would highly recommend these gentleman. Honest and forthcoming about problems. They want nothing less than for you to drive off happy and in a safe vehicle!

They do great work here.. they dont just do what you think is wrong. They actually check to make sure thats the problem and fix it without a lot of extra stuff thats not needed unless its requested

Although all the workers were very friendly and polite. The workers are not honest. I am by far not a mechanic. I received an estimate for about 2k worth of work. For example to replace license plate was about $65 with bulb and labor....hmmmm but why would we replace the bulbs if they are not blown? It appears to me they were just trying to take advantage of me and are liars! Who knows what else they lied about! Was it because I am a female or do they just try to rip everyone off! I wouldve done better spending $30 more going to dealer and got an honest diagnosis!10/21- I am thankful I recieved my refund yesterday without having to dispute the charge. The owner who is a woman did reach out to me and was apologetic.I did have to take car 🚗 elsewhere where the diagnosis came back with different findings. Overall my car is fixed

I blew out a tire and bent the rim badly. I went to the dealership I recently bought my new car from and they quoted me a price that was ridiculously expensive. I was referred to MD Auto Repair by a friend and I am so thankful I found this place! They ordered and installed a new tire and rim in in less than 24hrs. They charged me $300 LESS than the dealership wanted for JUST the tire. They also went above and beyond and gave me a complimentary full inspection with pictures to make sure everything was ok and that I didn’t do any other damage. I wasn’t pressured to do any additional work like most places seem to do. Very friendly and kind. Quick but precise work. I highly recommend this place for any repair you need, they seem to be able to do it all!

I appreciated the customer service immediately when I called to make an appointment, John was extremely polite and professional. They were able to fit me for an appointment in a few days. I told them a time Id like to get my car back, if possible, and they met my expectation! They shuttled me to work within minutes of checking in. The communication throughout the process was flawless, I received text messages with progress updates (that was my preference) and a call when my car was finished. And the best part, my car received everything it needed in one visit! I will be recommending this shops to all my friends and family.

I just took my 67 camaro in this morning for a Custom Magna-flow exhaust system So car Probaly wont be ready till tomorrow. They did partial exhaust System on my 67 El Camino 2 years ago and did a good job ! Everyone there is very nice and cordial, technician took sometime out for He and I to go over the Installation of the exhaust system Before he started on it, Ill leave another review when exhausted system done!

I was recommended to Muffler Doctor after going to another shop that couldnt do the service I requested, which made me comfortable going there knowing another business would stick their neck out for them. The customer service and communication was excellent, they spoke in laymans terms about what needed to be done, and they didnt try to up-sell any other services too hard or make you uncomfortable. Lastly, the quality of the repair seems to be great and I am satisfied with the service.

My car was rumbling below, so, remembering that The Muffler Doctor had fixed the exhaust system on my car years ago, I went there. No appointment, and still they had the problem diagnosed, my system replaced and me on my way in just under an hour. That alone is worthy of a good recommendation, but when I got home I got my receipt from their previous fix. Happened in 2013... that system lasted four years and 60,000 miles! This is a great shop, with quality parts, workmanship and people.

As a FORMER customer of over 10 years, take this review to heart. I was satisfied with this repair shop, but for the past couple years any time I went in with anything, I was told that you also need this and you also need that...to the tune of $1000+ every time. This past time, my LAST TIME, I had a jeep with a cylinder misfiring. This bill was to the tune of $1200. How did it get that high? The usual you also need this and you also need that and marking up parts 200-300% for starters. (Likely $3+ Spark plugs at $11.52 each...a plastic fuel cap that I didnt ask for or approve of at a cost of over $35 to me.) ....and the crossing the line for me was the dirt splattered, oil splattered, oil crusted white oil filter when I dropped it off, that they say was replaced and charged on my invoice, that was a dirt splattered, oil splattered, oil crusted white oil filter after I picked it up. When I asked for just the price of the oil filter and $12 oil filter labor credited to my card, they said and I quote (from a nasty email sent to me from them which I can easily post if they try denying it).....will not refund anything to you. Seriously, find somewhere else to take your vehicle.

I have been using The Muffler Doctor for countless years. Dan, Kyle, Paula, and Mark have always been there for my auto needs. They are what auto shops used to be like before corporations came along. They are the kind of shop that wont sell you what you dont need and will tell you what you do. I have referred everyone I know to them because they are honest and they are Damn Good. You are always welcomed with a smile and they do whatever it takes to make sure you leave happy. I recommend everyone to give them a shot at whatever your auto needs are. They work extremely hard keeping your car on the road so you can breath a little easier.

Fixed my issue, but they charged $100 for “diagnostic testing” on top of the labor for my repairs. I don’t mind paying for the time it took to diagnose the issue. However, after explaining the issues I was having they agreed to check the suspension first, which is what they ended up repairing. I made it clear up front that I didn’t want anything else repaired, so the $100 charge to diagnose a bunch of additional issues wasn’t necessary.

Call them for a quote. refused to give one over the phone. Would have to come in so they could look at my van. It is a dodge caravan. every one has worked on these. Need a quote for a cat. I am sure that they wanted to sell me the whole exhaust system. how much money could they swindle me out of.

Went their in February of this year, needed a new muffler to get my vehicle registered. I was in and out so fast I thought they couldnt fix it. Excellent service and they do not take advantage of females like most shops. I recommend all my family and friends to them now.

I have a 1999 Nissan quest and thought I needed a exhaust system. I was told by others. I stopped at the doctor and they told me not so changed the small bypass and it runs quite and smooth. HONESTY GREAT THING THANKS SO MUCH

Originally went to another place to have my flex pipe repaired and was quoted $750. I called around to get estimates over the phone and the Muffler Doctor quoted me at $180. I went in that day and had it repaired. They even offered a 1 year warranty on parts and labor. These people are honest, very reasonably priced and stand behind their work. From now on I am taking my car here for any maintenance issues. Thanks again!

Recommended by my mechanic and Im glad I went! They charged me half of what my other quote was, to reattach my muffler to my exhaust. My car now purrs like a kitten and they even checked for leaks on my wiper fluid since I mentioned I had an issue with it. Very friendly, very professional, and VERY honest. I will be coming back here for anything my mechanic doesnt fix!

I took my car in to get the exhaust fixed and left with a flying hood . I went back and told them that my hood wouldn’t close and they denied it and offered to tie it down . I was very disappointed and I may need a new hood . They did ok as far as taking pics of everything that was wrong but my hood still don’t close 🤦🏾‍♀️

Muffler doctor has been a very honest place we have been taking vehicles thier for 2 yrs never go to anyone else.

I Called Muffler Doctor the day before I brought my vehicle asking if they had time to finish my exhaust, they said yes bring it in 8-9am and I would be able to pick it up at 12pm that day. The day of I had someone drive me there so I could drop it off and I gave them my number incase they needed any information. 1pm rolls around and I called to check in, They told me there muffler guy was not in for the day and that I could get it done the next day for $400. I got there about 5 minutes after the phone call to see what was going on and they raised the price to $475. Needless to say I took my jeep and left, At the end of it all I lost a days pay and got nothing done. I will edit and add that the owners called me after reading my review and offered to fix it, sadly I had already gotten it done elsewhere.

This is by farrr the best muffler/exhaust shop in the metro area. I came here 20 years ago to get fatter pipes on my car, they literally, seriously, impressed me. I came here 20 years later, only to find the same exceptional service when I wanted fatter pipes yet again. They install walk in parts... Huge ++. Few places do that anymore with the exceptional service these guys have. In the past 20 years they’ve become backed by NAPA auto parts with good reason. I will NEVER take my car elsewhere for exhaust work. Be weary though, 79th and troost, you will find some shaders outaide the store....
