Brookside Auto Rx is the epitome of a great little shop around the corner! My low tire pressure indicator light went on, and I didnt feel comfortable driving all the way to the dealership to have it taken care of. I called Brookside Auto Rx, and they were able to get me in the next morning. I live close enough that I could leave the car there and walk home, and they had my car ready to go by mid-afternoon. Wonderful, speedy service!Extra thanks to Tamara at the reception desk; she remembered me from an earlier visit and had my contact information pulled up before I had finished even describing the problem. She was reassuring and kind and I felt very comfortable once again trusting them with my car.Im so glad that Brookside Auto Rx is in my neighborhood! I cannot recommend Brookside Auto RX enough! They are incredibly fair on pricing, way lower than any rate you’ll find at a dealership or in the KC area. Their work is always done on time and with the highest quality. We continued to use BRX even after we moved out of the Brookside/Waldo area because of how professional and incredible their work is.

I have taken my vehicle to Brookside Auto Rx for about six years now. Even after moving to Overland Park last year, I continue to drive to the Waldo location to get my vehicle serviced simply because I trust Clint and Tamra. I cannot recommend this business enough, they are fair and honest which is very difficult to come by in the auto body industry.

I took it to Brookside Auto Rx for a complete evaluation, to tell us everything they could find that, if repaired/addressed, would put it back into “tip top” condition. Their examination was thorough and honest. They provided us with “worst case” scenario costs, and everything was printed in a nice report that I could share with my wife, who now gets to decide how to approach the “rejuvenation” of her car. Wow! Best car mechanic I’ve been to. I called up to get an appointment time and was able to get in next day! Great people up there! I was shocked when I got a phone call to say my car was done SAME DAY! I came here because my regular mechanic was backed up but I will no longer be going there! Brookside Auto Rx is now going to my place! Closer to home and waayyyy more efficient then my now previous shop! 100% recommend this place.

Needed help starting a Corolla that had taken the winter off so I could take it to dealership for airbag recall replacement. Brookside Auto Rx offered to come at end of their workday to get it started. They found battery irretrievably dead. They drove it back to the shop where it got a new battery, fresh oil, and a fine-toothed diagnostic once-over the next day. Coming to my house instead of forcing me to call a tow service has made me a customer for life. Competency plus kindness are a rare combo these days and should be acknowledged. Dont recommend this place at all. Besides being quite pricey (it cost 300$ more to repair a broken CV than at Firestone; or them charging me 84$ for a tow when the tow guy said he was paid 50) their people at the front gave off a hostile vibe. But today what pushed me to leave a review was when I asked on them to check on some creaking as part of the warranty on the side of the wheel which I thought they worked on. I misremembered the side but without telling me it wasnt covered they continued and charged me 50 bucks for something I didnt want as I assumed it was covered under the warranty and recently had the whole vehicle inspected anyway. Brookside has stolen my money and time and lost my business.

Straight shooters. Honest, friendly and quick. I brought my Jeep in for, what I expected, routine pad replacement due to a noise coming from the rear. Clint called about 4 hours later. My brakes were fine and everything else checked out. He recommended, since it’s under warranty to bring it to a dealership. I paid a minimal shop fee and was on my way. They will be my go to and recommended shop from here on out.

I found this shop just by googling and reading all the great reviews! We had to drop off our car after hours and they were very quick to text me the next day once they got a diagnosis. They texted saying they were ready to discuss what needed to be done at my convenience. They also texted over the estimate after I spoke with them, which was so great and convenient! Very friendly service from the front desk as well as the mechanic. I’m very glad to now have a mechanic I trust! They put in a new used engine and repaired some of my transmission.

I finally found an auto shop I can call mine! Talk about being a woman and feeling like I’m not going to get taken as a sucker. This is somewhere I’ll actually leave my house key on my key ring...if I can Finally break the habit of taking it off.

The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The important take home note is that they will take care of you. You can trust to send a family member or friend there and know they are in good hands. I will return for all of my automotive needs on my Cadillac Escalade.

Brookside Auto Rx did a great job servicing my car for a 60,000 mile tune up. They were professional, thorough and didn’t perform any unnecessary work. My bill was actually below the estimate. They’re an honest crew, something not always easy to find.

Clint is the man! We ran into a small problem during a routine maintenance and the accommodations/explanations were stellar. Give the man double pay. They did a family members vehicle as well and service was great. If you go to another shop and they make you want to walk out into moving traffic it would be worth the cost to tow it to these guys.

I went for the first time over a year ago and needed a new battery. Greg was super helpful and easy to communicate with. He followed up with me a few weeks later which was much appreciated. I stopped by later on for other minor car issues which they quickly helped me resolve. My battery died during COVID and they came to my house and jumped my car, took it in and replaced the battery quickly. Tamara was very helpful too. Thanks for the great service! Brookside Auto Rx discovered issues on the car that I knew were present, so I know they’re not attempting to “find” issues to charge extra money. The work appears to have been done well and the communication was good through the process. We did spend quite a bit more than we planned, but their parts cost and labor costs seemed in line with other mechanics in the area.

I know nothing about auto repair, and Clint and the team fixed it at a fast pace and a low cost. Im definitely coming back if I need anything.

We had our immobile car towed on Friday night. By mid morning on Monday we had a diagnosis. Everything was done by Monday afternoon! We asked about doing additional work, and they said not necessary at this time. That’s right!! They told us to wait rather than spend the money right now. We are devoted customers now!!!

At 65 I’ve been to a few car mechanics.These guys are honest, treat you with respect, even if you don’t know cars. One of the best things is they are VERY reasonable. Give them a try. I was referred by a friend and was not disappointed.

Awesome, as always. We had a massive engine problem. It was a very expensive problem, but Clint and Tamara went above and beyond to mitigate the cost and save us a ton of money. They also arranged a loaner car that we drove for over a week while Clint resolved the problem. When we got our car back, it ran as smooth as glass. He even had the driver’s door detailed where the tow truck driver got grease all over it. While in our engine, Clint found an issue with the radiator, so he arranged to replaced it too. He could have let that go for now (it was a preventative maintenance thing) but it just would have required him to pull it all out again soon enough. By fixing it now, he saved us a nice chunk of change on labor costs down the road. We are taking everything to Clint now, including oil changes. We trust Clint to not just ‘knock out the work’ and move on but to be careful and thorough and get it right. We also know that Clint and Tamara will always be honest and fair. Don’t go anywhere but here.

These folks have done several different jobs on my car and I’m satisfied every time. They are very reasonable when it comes to replacing parts (e.g., wheel bearing and windshield) and they do a very thorough inspection report. Though I paid a bit more for an oil change than I have elsewhere, the neighborhood convenience could not be beat. I was particularly impressed when they stayed late to finish a job before I had to drive 700 miles the next day. I felt they had my best interests and safety in mind, and I will continue taking my car to Brookside Auto Rx.

Very Modern for a small local repair shop. Some may find this weird but I was happy to check-in with a Kiosk so I could ensure all the notes I wanted to give would be received. Took only 3 minutes to check in. They texted me updates frequently which was nice. The price is about what youd expect from any auto shop. Standard fees/rates. I had multiple problems and the mechanic made sure to know which one was the most important to me. Thats AWESOME!My only critique is I wish the receipts were a bit more transparent. It shows a side for Price - Extended and lets say the price of an item is 80$ the extended would show like $270. I have no idea what this even means...

Got an inspection said I need ball joints tie rods. Didnt pass. Asked for an estimate and never was contacted. So I took it to a different shop where they look a the print out from brookside and proceed to tell me that there was nothing wrong with my car and passed it. The new mechanic told me you are conartist not to ever be trusted. Will never go back

When I called on the phone an made an appointment I was told one thing and when I got the work done I was told something else. I got AC work done and the lady on the phone told me that after they filled my AC I would come back and they would check for leaks and when I ask the price she said it would be free. When the work was done the man told me there was a fee to check for leaks. My AC is working now and I Love that. I just dont like that I was told different things by different people. I could have went to a different place that checks for leaks in 5 days and it would be free but they were $10.00 higher that is why I went to Brookside Auto RX. Get it in writing what they tell you.

My car was spewing steam and I was not able to drive any further. I called Brookside Auto, and bot only did Clint & Tamera call a tow service for me, Clint came to where I was stranded, checked the car and made sure it needed to be towed. And then he kindly took me home. As the Wood’s know, car repairs are way beyond our grasp. We very much appreciate how they have looked after us over the years.

Have been going to this shop for about 3 years after another shop botched an alignment and brake job and didnt make it right. These guys fixed the previous shops work for a good price and got my car back same day. They are fair and experienced and will shoot you straight.

Several years ago I was looking for a Waldo neighborhood auto service/repair shop and decided to try Brookside Auto Rx. I continue to use them for everything from oil changes to more complicated repairs. They are always friendly, knowledgeable, explain suggested repairs clearly, avoid pressure tactics, finish repairs accurately and on time.

Have used this place twice, once for car inspection and preparing a car for sale, and once for repairing a tire with a nail in it and oil change. This establishment is fair and honest!! They were upfront about what needed repairing on the car we were selling and didnt try to sell us repairs that werent needed. They were kind enough to give me a ride home while the car was being worked on and picked me back up to get my car. I had been told the car that had a nail in the tire would need an entirely new tire, by another place. This place honestly told me they could plug the tire, thus saving me a lot of money. They did an oil change as well all without me having an appointment. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes with all my problems solved! They go out of their way to be courteous, friendly and honest. Very refreshing to find a place like this and will definitely use them again. Highly recommend!

Ive taken my car to Brookside Auto Rx twice for routine maintenance. Nothing surprising on either courtesy inspection, and they even provided me with estimates for repairs I will need in the future so that I have an idea of what they will cost ahead of time. I especially love that they send a text letting you know when your car is ready so that you arent left playing phone tag. Very courteous and trustworthy.

Had a bad experience just trying to call to schedule an inspection. Guy hung up on me first time and the second time he asked me if I could hold which was fine and I stared talking to a friend and I could hear him saying “HOLD ON” before switching the lines.

The hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. are inconvenient, aince they are the same as virtually everyone who has a job. It would make more sense (and create more business) if Brookside Auto were able to open earlier and closed later, say 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. -- hours kept by nearly all auto repair shops. Brookside Autos service team and technicians listen carefully, examine thoroughly and troubleshoot diligently. Nevertheless, I did have one experience that felt like a bit shady to me. Although it may have been inadvertent, it still should not have happened: Exhaust parts had obviously been loosened and, after leaving Brookside Auto, eventually became disconnected. In short, my vehicle started to sound like a helicopter before it stopped running, an unacceptable situation. The issue was brought to the attention of Brookside Auto management and rectified; however, I admit the experience shook my confidence to the point that this shop has not yet fully won back my trust. (In general, when dealing with any auto mechanic, be wary when a single repair is followed by a merry-go-round series of return trips to fix further problems.) Overall, the owners, managers and service team at Brookside Auto usually are highly capable and excellent problem solvers. I am willing to continue being a customer and hope my rating and review will improve in due course.

Out of this world service! My car was towed 2:30p to shop on Friday, diagnosis made, a new starter installed and I was back to driving vehicle by 7p! Great communication through out too. Cannot go wrong here.

After waiting 8 DAYS for a part that was supposed to be able to be shipped next day, turns out they misdiagnosed the vehicle, and I was STILL expected to pay for the work. Now I am out of a car which I just put more money into, and through the whole process never once did they admit any fault in misdiagnosis or even apologize. Awful costumer service. This was the WORST EXPERIENCE I’ve had with a mechanic in my life. Save your money and go somewhere else!
