Legit Google reviews do work. Our Honda started acting up one morning. With a blinking engine light on the dash, and with concerns it could be transmission issues, I wanted subject matter experts apart from the dealership to look at it. After seeing the fantastic reviews I called and Rick, who has received so many fantastic reviews for knowledge and customer service, answered. After talking we felt comfortable dropping it after hours. Next day they had the problem diagnosed very early in the morning, which turned out to be a spark plug which related to possible leaking cylinder. They went so far as to research Honda service orders, finding an outstanding service order issued by American Honda for the exact same problem we were experiencing. In the end they fixed what we needed with the advisement to follow up with Honda to inquire if the underlying issue of the leaking cylinder on our car can be fixed under the extended warranty service order (rather than up selling the job for themselves!) The entire experience with Rick, his knowledge and AAMCO’s service, has earned our business going forward. Great customer service.

My wife had bought brakes and rotors here and was charged over $700. She was talked Into buying a lifetime warranty on the brakes. She had to bring the car back bc of the excessive noise when braking. Got the vehicle back and the noise hadnt changed. When she took it back bc of the warranty and brakes were ready to be changed they told her that the rotors were bad and that they would waive the labor if she bought the rotors through them. It was gonna be over $300 . We told them no, that we thought the rotors were fine. We had a retired KCPD mechanic look at it. First thing he noticed is that the drivers side wheel wasnt properly tightendfrom when aamco took it off. We have 2 younger kids so that was unsettling. After taking all 4wheels off it was very apparent that there was ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with the rotors. Not warped or scratched. We took pics of all 4 rotors. This is exactly whats wrong with auto repair shops offering warrantys that they wont back up and then trying to pull a fast one on a woman that doesnt know any better. Well never go back there for anything. And not properly tightening the lugnuts put my whole family in danger. Dont trust these con artists. One more thing. Its convenient that you cant leave a review on their website. All you can do is read their own scripted bs

Its hard to find a trustworthy and friendly shop, but I did with AAMCO on Prairie View Rd. Rick was friendly and very helpful! Plus they beat another quote I got by $200! I just want to share my experience. We have had 2 cars done here. Transmission oil change and very happy with results. That was 2 years ago. I got a new/old truck with 177000+ miles on it. I was going to get a full change and they recommended that I dont change it as that might cause more issues. Nothing over 140000 is recommended. Ive heard that before and was really surprised that was the recommendation. I am very pleased with their recommendation. Just thought I would share.

My first experience at AAMCO was exceptional to say the least. I told the manager my problem & went home. It didnt take long before I got a call explaining what work I needed done. He quoted me the cost. I got a call early the next day that vehicle was finished. Paid the exact price I was quoted. I had my fuel pump and fuel filter replaced. I called a few other places & decided to go with them so glad I did. Just recently I was having a few other issues with my 4 wheel drive. I called AAMCO of course & set up appointment. I arrived & met the mechanic, Brian. Told him my problems he explained to me what he thought. Brian was very knowledgeable. Its nice to know a great mechanic you can trust! Thank you Brian!

A few days ago some maintenance lights on my car came on. I am leaving for a trip this weekend and wanted to make sure all my tires and brakes were okay since these lights came on. They were able to quickly diagnose and resolve the issue and they also made time for an oil change. The oil change was a very reasonable price. I 100% recommend them for all your car needs!

I called AAMCO requesting a quote to change a coolant thermostat, and their quote was about half the price of other places I had called. Service was timely and they were flexible on pickup time. I can only speak for this one occasion, but I will probably ask for quotes in the future, even though my new house will be 20 minutes away.

Corey was very helpful and professional throughout the process of repairing my vehicle. We have a 2005 Honda Odyssey EX with close to 130, 000 miles. It was pretty reliable previously, but it started having some wear and tear. Recently we found out the van had some steering fluid leaking to our garage ground. Then we took the van to a mechanic at the overland park area, who told us the steering pump was broken and recommended us to change the whole pump with the cost of more than 600 dollars.My wife was hesitant to proceed b/c we had spent several thousand bucks to fix the van here and there recently, and she thought about it might be the time to get rid of the van. Then, one of our friends introduced AAMCO at North KCMO. I met the team and was amazed by their friendliness and professionalism. They did a very thorough examination of my van and found the steering pump was intact. Then they fixed the leaking with the cost

My oil was showing running very hot so I knew something was wrong. I called Aamco off prarie view road and Rick said bring it in. I did right away and they had it all fixed the same day. He even made sure I got a ride home safe and a ride back to get the truck when it was all done. With all the snow and freezing temperatures I appreciated that so much. He explained to me what was wrong with my truck and answered all my questions. I would recommend this place because they are nice, helpful and know what they are doing.

I bought a Groupon for a transmission change. They told me they didnt recommend it with my cars age and mileage because of the damage it could cause and encouraged me to get a refund from Groupon. I really appreciated their honesty and straightforwardness! They also aired up my low tire just to be nice.

We werent getting heat, which is why we took the vehicle in to another local mechanic (one that rhymes with Ristian Rothers, located near Green Hills on Barry Road), who told us our heater core was plugged and that we needed a new one. that inspection cost us $100.While there, we received a courtesy inspection after which were also told that all four ball joints were loose (which also necessitated two new tires), and had an axle seal leak... AND that we also needed a number of other services that were recommended.) Basically, thousands of dollars in repairs needed — which set off warning bells in my head (even as a non-mechanic)So, I called AAMCO and talked to Rick, explained my situation, and scheduled an appointment to bring it in for a second opinion. Dropped it off overnight and then received my callback from Rick the next morning. No heater core needed. It was perfectly fine. The vehicle was simply low on coolant and the heater needed to be bled to get rid of the air in it. Next, ball joints were completely fine as well. Did get the seals replaced (at a cost much cheaper than the first shops quote) and had the tires rotated as well.Rick is honest. He could have taken the quote we had, and done all of the other shops necessary procedures and undercut them by a few bucks simply to make money, but he didnt. In fact, the AAMCO team actually figured out the problems and did only what it took to get our vehicle back in top shape. (Seriously, I mean the first shop jumped right to NEW HEATER CORE without even checking the coolant level?) A quick look shows that even their basic pricing (like oil changes, etc.) are much cheaper than the competition.)Id recommend AAMCO to anyone, and — with two vehicles and another licensed driver coming soon — its now our familys mechanic of choice. My husband called to get our vehicle in for an inspection and the person who answered the phone was so rude! We cant get your car in until September 1. Fabulous place! I think we found our car care place here. Made an appointment for an oil change, to have our A/C fixed (needed a new condenser), and our brakes checked. Dropped off car at 7:45 in the morning; it was done by 2 the same day. We were concerned as to how to get our car when done. Since we lived close, they offered to pick us up. Such a wonderful, nice gentleman did... as we were pulling up, I asked if he worked at AAMCO long, and turns out he was the owner, Haha. Easy 5 stars. These guys were fantastic from the front desk to the guys in the shop. Came to get brake pads put on and had a couple personal concerns with the work needing to be done— they talked it out and worked with me and got me in and out of there quickly and smoothly! I will be giving them my business for the rotors I’ll need in a few months and most of my other auto needs in the future.

I bought a Groupon for full synthetic oil change and they scheduled me about 3 weeks out. I arrived on time but waited for about 15 minutes before the mechanic was told to get started on my car. That disappointed me because I took the time off work as they are not open on weekends & I booked so far out I was hoping to get seen straight away. They have fast free wifi so I was able to get work done on my laptop while I waited. I could hear the mechanic at the front talking to people on the phone & what he said made me feel that the place was honest & thorough when dealing with customers. Everyone was professional & the place was clean. They were nice enough to point out a potential problem I had that I could solve & didnt try to up sell me stuff I didnt need which I really appreciate. I was in & out in about an hour. I was satisfied & I will definitely go again.

These people are great! I purchased a Groupom special for an oil change a few days before going in. I arrived on time and dropped my car off assuming it would take awhile. They called me in 45 minutes letting me know my car was finished. That was fast! Also, they did exactly what I had asked them to do and did not try to upset me on a bunch of stuff that was unnecessary. The people were friendly and helpful both on the phone and in the shop. Used a groupon, good service. Just had to make sure and schedule ahead. Walked in and was told we would be able to schedule about 10 days out. Only had 1 lube tech. Good, friendly staff, and left my car clean.

I had to get an oil change for the first time in KC. I went in on a week day, Josh the man at the front desk was very courteous. They took my car in to the garage, and found out I needed a special filter. They got the filter and changed the oil, and it was all done within 30-40 minutes. Corey, the owner reached out to me after to make sure everything was well done. Quality service. I shall return if needed.

I was told that I need a transmission at dealer and took my 2012 Ford Explorer to AAMCO. After they did a thorough diagnostic test, it was found out that there is no power from Powertrain control module to transmission. Instead of paying thousands of dollars for a new transmission, I got my car back running smooth for less than $300. Excellent customer service, honest people, highly recommend their service to anyone who needs a transmission!

I had never used AAMCO before since I had been under the misconception that they only performed transmission work. Found a groupon for a synthetic oil change and was surprised that they have many services available. I spoke with the manager to get estimates on upcoming maintenance due on my Subaru Outback. I will definitely save money here compared to what the Subaru dealer charges.
