I have been referred to discount Windows and doors but was unfortunately able to be helped. I am looking for a simple interior wood door to my bathroom to be replaced. I was advised that this is not what kind of door work they did. I appreciate their honesty and I did ask for a referral to someone who could help me but wasnt able to get one. I wish them the very best theyre probably an amazing company just did not fit my need.

I hardly ever leave reviews, but this was such a horrible experience and I would NEVER recommend. The sales team was super slick promising superior service and instead what I got was overpriced windows and installation so shoddy I cringe when I look at my windows. One screen was installed with a hole that they promised to fix and never came. They messed up the order with my sliding glass door and at first tried to charge me $550 to fix, and when they realized it was their mistake they had to install the glass sliding door upside down, leaving me with makeshift door track and a screen door I can barely open.They left 6 super sharp dangerous screws sticking out of my window frame that I can do nothing about. DO NOT RECOMMEND, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. (See photos below. I have 6 of these super sharp screws sticking out my window frame 🙄)

My neighbor had windows installed a few years ago and was impressed by how nice they turned out so me and my mom went into the office and decided to buy windows, we asked for same installation crew and was told yes, instead a few guys that was salesmen at the time we was in the office showed up and did the install. Omg WHAT A MISTAKE!!!! We went to sell the house recently and the home inspector for the buyer told us the installation of the windows are so bad that we have to drop $8000 off our sales price. Windows are not caulked on the outside. Big gaps were left. Bad wood not replaced. I called Discount windows and talked to Monica. She was rude and tried to defend the installer without even looking at the job. It looks nothing like my neighbors job. I tried calling the installer that did my neighbors house and his phone is disconnected. This is insane!!!! We paid $5500 for the windows and $$4500 for installation and the installers were there for 4 hours. They make $1125 per hour? Wow.I waited to post this review until after my mom and I moved because I do not want backlash to my mother. But this needed to be told to other people, I’m clueless how this company has good reviews, The installation and customer service was horrific. We paid $10,000 for new windows to sell home and lost $8000 on the selling price. Btw the home inspector told us we had very low quality windows installed. He show us and I had no choice but to agree,Update.,. No I do not have the wrong company, Kamehameha in Kaneohe. I buy my car next door at Nissan. obviously they do not do a customer walk through with elderly customers. I not there at the completion of job. Only my mother, but thank you for admitting your window is garbage. They did not even bother to ask any more information. Like my mother’s name contract was in. Because Monica had no problem knowing who we are when she talk crazy to us. I not put my mother personal information on google. Your company responded bad like before.I am done wasting time. They not deserve another second of my time,

No stars from me and only posted 1 star otherwise it would not post!!! Got a quotation around the month of April for 2 vinyl windows, a 72 in. X 48 in. with a picture window in the middle and 2 sliders on both ends and a 96 in. X 48 in. with the same specs for a price of over $20,000.00, extremely ridicules even if it included installation and shipping to Hilo. Will not order from this company nor do I recommend any family or friends, this place is a ripoff, and they call themselves DISCOUNT WINDOWS & DOORS!!! Price sure isnt a discount to me!!!!Thanks to Lowes Kona for ordering my double paned vinyl windows for a discount total of $725.00 who appreciates customers more than your company!!!!

I got quotes from a number of companies for a large 12 double sliding door. It was more expensive than I had expected, but quotes were fairly similar across companies, and DWD was almost $1000 better than the next best company for the same product. I waited a bit to write a review to see how the workmanship has held up. It does take some time to order and install something like this, but all went very smoothly and efficiently and the installers did a nice job. DWD was always very responsive when I wrote with questions. The new sliding door is great and I have zero complaints. I still need to paint the new trim piece on top (inside is fine, so I keep forgetting about it), and the window is now in need of cleaning. This new door is much nicer and blocks a lot more heat that the old tinted door (50+ years old and in need of replacing). A clean install and nice door. We are pleased. Pictures show after from outside and mid-install from inside (between removal of old and install of new).

Nice people but Windows take too long! We had an order before our last order and the installer went on vacation when he was supposed to install our windows and shrugged it off. Then when he didcthe qindows it wasnt a great job. We didnt know better until a Contractor saw it. Sad! I hope they improve their businees integrity!

My husband and I bought our first house last year in Honolulu. First thing we did was replace our windows. He went into the showroom and purchased 8 windows. 3 months later.. yes I said 3 months later they sent 2 young men to install the windows. Since I was not in the show room I asked the installers why was we owed another almost $4000 more money when we already paid $4000 plus to discount windows, Especially since they installed the windows in only 3 hours. He gave me all these reasons like Discount windows is NOT a licensed contractor so they have to use outside contractors. But my husband said he was never told this or given a choice who would do the installation. This starting making me upset and felt like we are a young couple being screwed. I told him they were way over charging us. I read many other reviews and see I am not the only customer feeling this way. Charging thousands of dollars for just a few hours worth of work just for labor. Then he went on to explain how he has to pay the owner of discount windows 1/3 of the labor on all his jobs. He said this is how they make money off the installation since they are not a licensed contractor. My husband has contacted the state of Hawaii about unfair practices and explained the entire situation. They actually did a decent job installing the windows. Also the windows seem to be good quality but The clean up after was not good at all. I’m not telling anyone not to use this company or not. Make your own choice. I will not use any names because I’m not that type of person. But have all the facts before signing any contracts.

Griffins, first is there a Monica works there? Nevertheless I believe YOU, not her, hope you know which review Im referring to, as she had a one. star review. Sometimes reviews does make differences, especially if a client had never experienced having you folks to the job, but I have. And I know for a FACT that your products are of excellent quality. They never got back to me with a price so I went elsewhere.

We replaced 20 windows in our house including 3 sets of sliding glass doors. Discount windows provided exceptional service. Tony was excellent in sales, following up and providing timely estimates. Product delivery was on time with no issues. Anthony and his team did a great job with the installation - professional, on time, and conducted a thorough walk through during job completion. We are so happy with Discount Windows that we are also purchasing siding product and services.Edit on August 3, 2018 - this review is only for our first experience with windows. Our siding experience was not successful.

Excellent service and great products that are far better value than standard lower priced products at the big box building supply stores. The sales, measuring estimate, delivery, and installation help were totally professional, fast, and reliable. The sliding patio glass doors are very solid, tight seal, low heat transfer, and with stainless parts were such an great value upgrade from the previous standard doors that were loose, leaky, and worn rusted rollers that made opening and closing them a chore.

Salesman Kaimana explained our options and prices for us to choose the windows we wanted. The installation was done well with little mess and the crew was friendly and efficient. Their pricing was very competitive. We are very happy with our new windows.

I have lived in Kaneohe for a long time, and so it seemed the most convenient option was to use Discount Windows & Doors for window replacement. Jerry, who seemed reluctant to help someone like me that was quite up there in elderly years, quoted me quite a bit more than competitors for 10 plastic windows. Alas, I bought and I was assured that the products would arrive in about 8 weeks but did not arrive for 14 weeks in the end (my grandson installed them just fine). For weeks 8-14 when I would try to contact the man I was often referred to his less than mannerly manager Monica that often had an excuse for the delay and I had felt in the end I was promised customer care and deadlines that were never fulfilled.

Very good, sales representative knowledgable and efficient. The installation crew was timely, courteous, professional and cleaned up all the mess when the work was completed. Satisfied customer.

A few years ago I replaced some windows in one bedroom and loved them so much I then replaced all the bedroom windows and now I am finishing up by replacing all my windows and doors. The self cleaning glass is amazing - I dont know why anyone would buy any other window. Unless they like to clean? In addition to getting rid of ugly jalousies that leak and creak, the sliding windows and awnings I now have are easier to operate, block out heat and UV from the afternoon sun, and also block out the very loud voices of neighborhood children when I shut them. I love the difference they have made in my home. The customer service I received was excellent as well.

We drove all the way over to the other side of the island to schedule in house inspection/estimate for screen doors. However, we received a phone call instead asking for measurements and such, strange. Not happy to have that done over the phone, wants to micro manage the proposal/estimate. We were also ask if agreed pay in full and than someone actually would bother to come to the site, what?So, we did not proceed, I dont do business this way, two lanais two doors screen, were talking about over $5000 job, you should have 15 minutes time to come in.

Since we live in California, and had to communicate from afar, meeting all the measurements,etc., exact was crucial. From the beginning, we knew we were working with professionals and never doubted all would turn out perfect.Our contractor was most impressed that everything was handled so smoothly and everyone involved asked the right questions so that costly mistakes werent going to fall on us later. Our kitchen was redone from floor to ceiling, and we have the most gorgeous cabinets ordered through DW&D that arrived just when they said it would! All the horror stories we had heard regarding remodeling never happened to us because of the professionalism of the staff at DW&D! We have a house built in 1911, been in my husbands family for 4 generations. I know we made his ancestors proud that we added such beauty to something thats been in the family so long, and that we took such care in who we chose to help us. We will forever be grateful to DW&D for helping us give this old house a new life, and we enjoy spending more time in this part of our house now....having friends, family, neighbors over for dinners!
