I had a little incident with my Amazon returns (not Whole Foods fault AT ALL) and Rachel was so kind and understanding and fixed the problem right away. Very friendly service at Whole Foods always. I was very happy I didn’t have to wait long at all to receive great service and have the issue solved.
Amazingly personable teller! Theres a teller here who remembered me from two-and-a-half months ago. She remembered I was in the Air Force, that my boy liked the Air Force, what part of the island I was from--the whole nine yards. Shes every owners dream employee. You cant teach people that skill. I was impressed and love this store even more. Id give that lady a raise and do whatever it takes to keep her. Look for the sweet, friendly teller with the name tag Mary (a fellow vet who aims high).Beyond the stellar customer service the parking here is great, food has great quality, and is priced right. Its also located in an area where you can walk around and enjoy the other wonderful establishments. Fun place.
They usually have better produce at better prices than their competitors. Bell peppers, bananas, grapefruit, and eggplant keep me coming back. However recently they had an entire shipment of Maui gold pineapples that was rotten. They happily exchanged several pineapples for me over the course of a week, but each one was still rotten inside. I happen to work near the store so it wasnt a big deal to keep going back with my rotten pineapple. Finally, I asked a team member to cut them open in the store until I got one that wasnt rotten. She took a dozen to the back to cut open and returned a few minutes later apologizing that she could not find a pineapple that wasnt rotten. To my surprise, they never removed them in the following days. I guess the store manager thought it was okay to just keep selling rotten pineapples to unsuspecting customers, to reduce their losses from having to throw away the whole shipment. Not everybody is going to have time to go back to the store to return or exchange one pineapple. This didnt sit well with me. Five stars for the team members, one start for the manager, averages to 3. Also, why is there even a deli anymore? Its never open anymore for to staying shortages.
The Bachan’s BBQ sauce is worth the trip alone. It’s just like a teriyaki sauce. I put this on almost everything. Its that good. If u want kids to eat steamed veggies more throw some of this on and it might do the trick. I love both the original and gluten-free versions. Permanent must have stock item in my pantry.
Has to be the most consistently understaffed supermarket Ive ever been too. Iill no longer be shopping here because of how long it takes simply to check out. For the last few months at least, the lines to check out have stretched almost the lenght of the store and it takes me 3 to 4 times longer to check out then it does to shop. It doesnt seem to mattet if I come earlier or late as the store is understaffed no matter when Im here. If you plan on buying hot food definitely dont come as it will be cold by the time you check out.
As always, huge varieties from A-Z in organic food, endless eye candy, freshness abound. Love this store in Kailua. Come early/late if you are one who likes to avoid crowds. 🤙
The length of the checkout lines make it really hard for me to want to shop here. The strategy should be to make it easy for customers to spend money, and the understaffed checkout lines deters me from doing so. Also, why no express or self checkout option?Suggestion: Always staff all registers and get us out the door quickly. Less congestion in store, more $$ spent = everyone is happy!
Same every time. I go in with a good attitude get up to the check out and they can’t say hi or even act like a decent human. Time Just to make everything self check. I’m tried of people in retail acting like they are doing me a favor by ringing up my products. stink attitudes all over and I’m over them
Friendly staff and lots of choices in anything you need for food. Love to shop there.. Hope there will be more selection of vegan cheese and ice creams, low in saturated fat..
Your standard Whole Foods, but with Hawaiian touches. Love the fact that they have a great selection of bags since stores in Hawaii are required to charge for bags to reduce waste. They also have nice local produce and products specific to Hawaii as well as other products available at other Whole Foods. Nice amount of parking since there is an open lot and a covered lot.
Always an OK experience. except customer service on the floor & Food Service does need to step it up! Be more customer-friendly! Try to be more pleasant! Maybe try not to be so judgemental with the customers!!!
I went around 130pm to order a tacos bowl, was told there was only beyond beef and ground beef. No big deal. Also no rice. Also no big deal, the male employee that came out slapped down the fresh rice in a box on the counter and as I ordered beans, he realized he didnt have a scoop so he used his hands to toss them in. Same thing and same glove went for the cilantro and jalapeños. When he packaged it all up the box was smothered in sauce from his packaging and was laughing behind the counter with his employees. Is this normal?
Crazy busy store. I did the electrical on it. The conduits on the ceiling and lighting were me. Any way. Sometimes quantities are low due to many things only available at whole foods.
If you value your time, shop elsewhere. This location routinely has lines backed up to the end of the store with no desire to reduce wait times by opening more scanners. (Or hiring more staff). As one of the most popular grocery stores in Kailua, I would expect a reasonable response to increased patronage.
Always enjoyed doing grocery shopping at this place. Great selections for the weekly specials. Brought the burger patty with mushroom for the July4th weekend. Definitely enjoyed the holiday with a tasty burger, home made chips and a nice cool drink!
Im always finding new items to eat and customer service is great in Kailua, HI.
GET IN EARLY. SUPER BUSY & get cleaned out quick! Restocking not adequate & store size not to area capacity!ALTERNATIVE: 2 buildings down there’s another small WFM competitor that may help cover your gaps.HOT BAR. OFTEN RUNS OUT EARLY!Antibacterial flows like wine & wipes abundant every time :)
Bakery and hot food area are hit and miss. Sometimes the cake case is well stocked and other times its empty. Loved the Tacos that they make at the hot food area. The consistency is so dependent on who is working that I stopped getting them. Never knew what was going to be in the box.
Edit: now that Amazon owns them, as a Prime member, Whole Foods is affordable again (theyve always had superior products), hence the added star. Convenient to order online, and they deliver!
Very clean and accommodating. I was on crutches when I went in and all the workers made sure I had help while in there
Its Whole Foods. Specialty things are pricey, but you can find good deals on produce. The meat and Seafood section is great. I loved the smoked meat in the back. Fun place to get a slice of pizza and beer. I always thought it was odd to drink at a grocery store, but its the thing to do and when in Kailua get weird...
I like that they have some of the best produce and many times its cheaper than at the grocery store. Just wish the employees were nicer. Many of them seem unhappy to work there and some just seems like they dont want to deal with customers and their questions.
So necessary to have in Kailua town, if you need something that you cant find at your regular grocery store this is the place that you can find it! Very fresh produce and good meats too. Everyone is so nice and you can use your Amazon Prime membership to save some money when you shop!
Fruits and vegetables always look good and fresh. Customer service was excellent.
Fix your check out lines. Both locations I’ve been to on the island take upwards of 15 minutes minimum just to check out. Not to mention the lines of people back half way down into the aisles. I have to know there is something I can only get here to bother coming. So so bad.
Lots of variety. Great if you have specific food allergies. Has a hot line. Prices are a little high, but it is a specialty shop
Much of the food here was not whole. Some was sliced. Some bagged. I’m not even sure what a whole soap should look like, but it wasn’t here. The lack of live bison was a disappointment, but the other experiences have not been. Huge fish selection, plenty of meat variety (including bison rib roast), and the only duck I’ve been able to find on the island. Come early unless you want to wait in a whole line.
Beware of pick pockets! They’re working the coffee isles & they look for your wristband that show your travel clearance. Easy pickings!
I am so happy this exists in Oahu. I am forever grateful.
Not a fan at this location. Most of their workers seem unhappy and their veggies are never well stocked or good quality. Always out of stock of things I want to buy..
Great store. My only real gripe is that the checkout lines are frequently long with only a few lanes open.
Pretty confident in foodie options and the amazon efficiency is evident. Glad I live nearby
Ive spent a lot of money here after downloading the wholefoods prime app to save 10% on sale items. Once taxes are applied there is hardly any noticeable difference but its still a saving. There is a great smoothie bar where freshly pressed juices, coffee, speciality teas and healthy smoothies can be purchased. Purchases from smoothie bar must be paid for at their counter.Overall wholefoods is still expensive but I like the organic selections and prime discounts.
They have a large selection of totes and freezer bags! I got a variety to take back home. Really enjoyed looking around!
Great place a little pricey, but what else can you expect from high quality. Vasal was really helpful got us everything we needed. Most definitely be a returning customer, the entire staff was helpful and informative.
Had a horrible experience at 12:45 pm today at this location. Ordered pizzas over the phone for my childs birthday . Fyi, they had no pepperoni. Upon arrival the line was extremely long, I advised the person at the entrance and two managers that I order3d pizzas for a birthday. They gave me no option but to wait in line, even when I offered to wait outside and give them my credit card, so I would wait outside. They offer curbside pickup at this location, it wouldnt have taken much effort for them to made a tiny attempt to be helpful.Additional, the area to wait in line is in direct sunlight.
Wonderful selection to chose from.
Just ran in for some water. Go figure, buying the most abundant resource on the planet. The selection of items didnt seem too bad; it is whole foods so somethings are pretty expensive, and some things are not. Great selection and variety of items. Didnt spend much time in the store, but it looked pretty clean, interaction with a few employees was pleasant, and I left with my items pretty quickly.
Worst customer service experience I’ve had in this store in quite some time.
Love it. Always stop here for treats, specialties, sales and savings.
Happy for the selection but staff is kinda of underwhelming. Had the electricity go off twice during my short shopping visit last week. The staff was booing that it didnt stay off....kind of makes you go hmmmm....
Nice grocery store, helpful staff. Taking covid safety pretty seriously, which is appreciated.
Went to get dinner around 6pm in Kailua. There was a line to get in, but went quickly. The counter person was very helpful, courtesy & very fast. The only problem was that they only had 3 lines that were open so it had a back up, up to over 10 per line. Not good on that part. But otherwise, my meals was very good! Wear your 😷.
Whole Foods HawaiiPros cost is about the same as the mainland, lower than other grocery storesMost All produce comes from California though if you want to get fresh stuff go to farmers marketMostly friendly staff
I have mixed feelings about Whole Foods in general. But this is a very nice store.
Lack of prepared meals in the evening. Maybe the hot food section close early.
A blonde lady working the register had a sign that her isle was closed but patted on her counter that she was open telling me to come like I was a dog. I said thank you for the transaction but she just handed my receipt said here and turned away to talk to her coworkers very snobbishly
The store was great as usual. But my card has a defective magnetic strip on it and I always have to run card 3 times and cashier then instructs me to enter no. manually on the key pad and then it does its thing. No worries!BUT some cashiers dont know how to do it and have to ask manager unless of course its a well trained cashier.Tonight cashier went to manager and on the night before Thanksgiving not even the manager knew how and I had to scramble to get cash and looked like a fool!Ive shopped there before no worries manager did her job! In these times where cash is hard to come by this really ruined my family Thanksgiving!THANKS
They had just about everything I needed and easy to find.
Remember to keep 6ft separation, because germs cant travel any further. And wear a cloth mask because when virologists work with specimens thats all they wear. And make sure never look someone in the eyes again, viruses can attack those who act like normal humans.
Most impolite staff people I have ever had to deal with. Express lane closed, waited in line for 10 minutes to buy two items. Asked how I am, I replied not happy, please tell the manager the express line should be manned. I was jumped by two employees immediately and told I could not speak to them like that. I suspect they get a lot of unhappy customers because they were prepared for this.
Great location in Oahu for Whole Foods. All the staff there are so accommodating with asking for help locating items. I always shop here when Im in Kailua Town
This review goes out to the older gentleman who was working the seafood bar this afternoon. I bought oysters and he offered to shuck them/half shell them for me. He did it so swiftly. You’re awesome! Thank you!!
Nice and helpful staff. Good quality of producs
Quick line and affordable prices as a prime member.
They get water .99 a gallon and decent parking.
Found everything I was looking for, check out was quick.
I was able to find “Tajín” Chile powder for fruit. The prices were not too bad.
Ordered online. Used the app to let them know I was on my way. 12 minutes later the gal was standing there by the curbside pickup area waiting for us to arrive. WOW!
Clean.. polite employees
So impressed with produce and prices. Best sourdough bread in town!
Busy but did not feel crowded. Good selection. Smooth checkout.
I ordered a pizza inside of the whole food store, then I had to walk around the block (because they closed the access from inside the store) to sit on the whole food restaurant. Once I sat with my son to enjoy the pizza, the waiter approached us saying: “they want to keep the restaurant exclusively for people who order food at the restaurant, not at the store.” He immediately asked us to leave. Extremely rude.
Wonderful market, with helpful staff. All covid-19 percussions followed.
You are going to find stuff here that you wont find at other places that are trying to match the Whole Foods business model. Items for local vendors, different brands, and competitive prices. The experience is fun and I always enjoy what I leave with.
Always a pleasure getting the best food
Busy location! They are limiting the number of people inside so go during off peak hours or stand in line to get in. I dont usually go to Whole Foods this wad the first time I remembered to use my Amazon Prime discount which only helped slightly. Very expensive store I felt but very friendly and helpful staff.
Good selection of food. Bar looks to be open again to enjoy.a beer.
Every Whole Foods is great and this location is no different. Great selection of meats, cheeses and organic everything! Grabbed a few pounds of scallops, some wensleydale with blueberries, hearts of palm and radicchio, then stopped by the hot foods counter for a tuna melt with pepper Jack on sourdough and a slice of pepperoni pizza!
Mucho delicioso guacamole & variety of tasty salads to choose from! Rainbow of fresh fruits & Veggies! Juicy Rotisserie Chicken, too!
Lots of parking, clean store, very friendly and helpful employees, good prices
There hot breakfast prewrapped food items were horrible.
Great Whole Foods location. Friendly people, good selection.
I come here often, the service is great. Because of the virus, there are large lines outside, and inside. Including that, they have great service, recommend going here.
My son is vegan n he goes here always only here no place else he only shops here so if you wanna be healthy n live long be like him and go here I promise you wont regret it... Aloha
There was one item not available but they did have the rest of what I needed. Always friendly customer service with Aloha.
Top Notch Helpfull Courteous staff make shopping a pleasure lots of choice quality organic foods !!!
Far out of the way for me, but its less busier then the one downtown.
Love, best produce, trust with even my babies food. Great sea food. Also, yummy tacos.
First time using the pre-order & drive-up pick up was great! Easy through the Amazon app. Kailua worker who brought out the order was awesome!!
I love Whole Foods Market. They always have something Im looking for or are interested in.
Friendly and helpful staff. Great look and feel in the design and layout. Clean and safe.
