Two stars because they dont not have a very large selection for shamanism, tarot cards, or spirituality in general. Even Idaho carried many more to the subjects. Thats just plain sad knowing how many spiritualist live on the island... Thats why two stars. The girl who helped me was wonderful. Thslat again is why this place even gets two stars. She had long dark hair and was very young. It was early evening (5-7pm), on Sept. 8th 2021. Shes a great asset to the business.

Its a great little store, and would add a star in a heartbeat if they moved to a larger location.

The most disrespectful Karen was being bad and the staff handled it perfectly. Definitely a good clean location

Great selection, found both books I wanted.

I encountered an amazing woman named Mary!!! She searched through numerous shelves of books to locate two different books when their records showed there was one remaining copy of each and located both; total success. Also a young man who works in that section assisted in the search and Im sorry I didnt get his name but thanks to both of you for great customer service!!!! Much Aloha, Kathy

Its an island store. About half what a mainland store offers. But still nice.

Called to order new twilight book midnight sun. Asked for price and was told it’s $26.99 I told them amazon offers book for $16.99. Want to support our local stores but it’s much cheaper to buy online. Then Jennifer Store cashier quickly reacted and offered me the online price of $19.99. Great thinking Jennifer I decided to by locally. My book is on hold and I pick up tomorrow.Jennifer offers great customer service. Hope her manager acknowledges her great service and smart thinking. She gained a customer

I cant ever not love Barnes & Noble. The employee there today was gracious and kind. He knew more than I expected about the journals I was looking at (and because he was a fellow journal hoarder had so many valuable opinions). I feel like I made the right choice thanks to his help. This Barnes and Nobles is a single floor book store with a wide range of newly published and selected favorites that will keep you in the store for hours. I was very impressed by the wide range of Hawaiian based books, ranging from trail guides to the mythical gods. I even found Harry Potter written in hawaiin. 1 star ding for not having the book I was looking for.

Only one on island. Super supportive and friendly.Wish they had a coffee shop.

The place was nice and clean and it had the bibles I needed. The staff was also nice and friendly.

Luv book stores! B&N still kicken! And Im thankful. Though wish it was the full experience...cafe and music/DVD section is missing. But getting my books on hand is a big deal to me.

Books rule. And though expensive at times this place is good for the soul. But not better than a good library.

Alas there IS still a bookstore on Maui ! Its not huge, but does have some books. Didnt have the map if Lanai I was hoping for, for use on Jeep roads there. Thats gotta be tough to find, right ?

Staff eager to help you find or order what you need. Was seeking and found plenty of gift options as well as my own books. Helpful also with electronic reader, Nook.

I love getting a real book. I miss the big childrens section and comfy chairs to relax in.

Love B&N! Great staff and great selections! I also love that they are in Central Maui now. Conveniently located in Kahului, and the Maui Marketplace mall, next to Old Navy store and the Maui Marketplace food corner.

The staff was extremely helpful in guiding us to books for our grandnephews.

I would rate it less if possible. Worst customer service by the manager. Looking for a set of books, when I open the package it was incomplete. Asked for fastest way to get it tell me 10 days minimum but I have to pay for shipping or wait longer and they will get it to the store. I probably would have bought it if she would have offered a discount on the package (but she didn’t). I told her I really didn’t want to wait that long maybe I would just look online, her response was sassy from my point of view. “Or you could just support your local bookstore” so I said I would that’s why came but it’s incomplete she then replies “well it’s not our fault”. I just walked away. Felt her attitude was unnecessary. How do you want our community to support our only bookstore if you can’t be nice.

Best and only place to get books on Maui... The staff is polite and helpful. They have a spot off to the side so kids can read books while us adults find what we need

Not as good as the shop down in Lahaina. No Starbucks either. This Barnes and Noble is probably going to have additions later, but as for now, this place is definitely not the Barnes and Noble I expected.

This is a relaxing experience we should remember books instead of phones and pads. Where it all started

Im Canadian and I went in to update my ereader and I found a Samsung with built in e-reader with its sale price on it and wanted to purchase it...only to be told oh sorry the sale was over a couple of days ago and someone forgot to remove the sale price from the display but Ill talk to my manager. She returns with my manager is offering 10.00 off the regular price??? I said parden me? Two days ago the price was 69.00 off? Now honestly not that it matters to them but it matters to me, Im already paying 34% more because of our dollar being as low as it is, 10.00 bucks off didnt help me much!!! Needless to say, they lost a sale as well as a future customer as they really could have cared less whether or not Id put money in n their till 😳
